I have 3 very distinct things in mind but I want to see where the thread goes without starting a trend....

Hexagons, moustaches, anchors.

And if I could pick 4, speech bubbles.

I like most trends but in moderation, unfortunately most get overdone.

Mustaches for sure (are they dead already?) Anchors aren't doing much for me either.

But man, I'd love to see hexagons stick around forever. As a former chemist, I love them

I'll keep hexagons, but buh-bye to moustaches, anchors, and dirty brown pattern paper.

Feathers, triangles and mustaches.

Mustaches. I've never understood them, but I now have 1 LO I can use them for. I just think they are WAY overdone now.

Hmm...

Personally I'm not a huge fan of the hot air balloons.. I'm glad we don't see Chandeliers really anymore, those baffled me.

I think shapes likes hexagons, and arrows are staples like hearts and stars. I hope they don't ever go.

Oh, and I still love speech bubbles, they can stay too.

moustaches- just don't get it as a random embellishment

I love hexagons and arrows. To me they are basic shapes like circles that I will always use.

And, justlulu, I agree about the chandeliers.

I agree with a lotl of these... but my #1 its-driving-me-nuts-complaint is Project Life. I hope I won't get ripped to shreds for saying so. Its not that i wish it would go away per say but it seems to dominate the scrapbooking world these days and it BUGS! I just don't get all the hoopla. Ali E. brought us the hybrid years ago and now there is sn@p and many others out there doing more versatile things (imhp). I saw, years ago, and still do something similar with "photo albums" where you bookend your best photos of a particular event with 4x6 scrapbook pages that have the title and embellis then add a 4x6 page in between a few photos with journalling. An old school brag book...I think I might have picked it up from Sandi Genivese in the early 2000's. Whatever...I hope it stops being the big topic on the boards.

my other complaint is chevrons...alright already.

Was glad to see paisley go bye bye. Glad to see chandeliers go away.
Moustaches aren't my cup of tea.

But dontcha think many "trends" - moustaches, feathers, hot air balloons, anchors - can be used in specific LOs by even those who don't like them? For example, I used feathers on 2 LOs...about birds! But I don't use them otherwise.

That's why hexagons don't bug me. They are general. More like saying "I like polka dots" versus "I like stripes".

I am sick to death of ink splatters, ink droplets, etc....

I don't understand adding random things like moustaches, anchors, and feathers to a layout; unless your page is about your son shaving, a cruise, or bird watching.

Neon was wrong in the '80s and it's wrong now...

Oooh, thought of another one...sun flare in pictures. Enough with the sun flare!!

Neon (although it's pretty recent, so I think it will be a bit longer before it goes)

Mustaches (even though my DH has had one for as long as I've known him, just not usable on a page for me)

I can't think of a third, although I'm sure there's more I'm missing.

anchors - nautical theme stuff is great and all but I personally have 0 use for them
Stick pins - they make me shudder. PLEASE don't get to be a thing!
Neon - way too bright! although the Hero Arts neon orange which looks like a nice yellow when stamped, I like that fine because it isn't blinding.

ROFl at project life, although I do have to agree!

I quite like moustaches, however impractical they are!

But back to the question,

Chandeliers, not me at all, and tbh I like most other things mentioned, even if I don't use them myself, I can appreciate them!

Hexagons, I like them but just struggle to use them
mustaches, I mean just why?
feathers, Not a fan at all (though used a couple i had from a kit)

I have to say I don't see Project Life as a trend, I see it as the way a lot of scrap booking is going and i think it will be around for a long time.

I love PL but will never give up normal scrapbooking

Oh and anchors I love these but have yet to use one, I plan too but will be in an appropriate layout

Yes! The ink spots always look like accdients on my layouts too! I totally see what you mean!

I only used a moustache stamp once for a Mario and Luigi layout I did for my boys. Not sure how else to use it now. I'm guessing it will never get used.

I like the feathers but I can't seem to use those so they can go away.

Chevrons are overdone.
I don't scrap fast enough to use trendy stuff so I don't own anything that is overly trendy.
Ink splotches aren't my thing. I have non-scrapping relatives and I wonder what they would say if I did a page with in splotches? They would probably think I had made a big mistake!

I am really glad to see that other people are as baffled as I am by some of the trends. I was starting to think that I was out there alone on my deserted island wondering what the big deal was about chandeliers, moustaches, mist ink splatter, and people stalking Hobby Lobby for signed Project life kits.

I graduated from Temple University so owls will never be overdone in my world. I lived through neon the first time so it doesn't bother me.

I used mustaches on 2 LOs dealing with mustaches, I wouldn't know what to do with them without a mustache theme. PL is I think is here to stay, because it offers quick and easy scrapping, though it does not appeal to me I recognize its importance to others. I'm not a fan of the sprays I splatter all over everything!

Moustaches...never got what that was about? Feathers another big question mark for me?? Neon doesn't bother me, but I'll never use it on my pages ...just a matter of preference I guess?

I like hexagons and chevrons, but I don't use them a lot, project life I tried it and iguess it's just not for me, maybe my life is too boring, I could not come up with enough photos or journaling for even a monthly review...

Thought of one more... ampersands used as an embellishment or part of a background when it is not used in part of a sentence. I think it looks silly and I'm missing something in the title.
