This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges on 2peas and is a fun place to come chat with other scrappers.

1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. Mark the box for Pokey Peas as you post your layout. Put a link to your layouts on this Pokey Peas Thread for June 2013. (If you don't know how to post a link, leave a note to me on the Pokey Peas Thread or peamail me and I will help you.)

2. This can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items.

3. Please leave praise for others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts.

4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or a dozen. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new Peas.

Please contact me with any questions.

NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!!

I'm starting this month off on a roll. I've completed 2 pages and when I counted up the pages I've done this year, I have managed to do 24. I go in spurts, but I appreciate this thread to keep me motivated.

Here are my pages:
Cranberries
Our Miss Kayla

I hope you all have some time this month and kick back and do some scrapping. Be sure to post your pages so we can enjoy them too.

And Nylene we like it because you keep us motivated! Hope everyone is having a great evening! I have the grands tonight as their parents are celebrating their tenth anniversary! Taught Maggie some hand sewing this evening also. We have a few thunderstorms go thru this evening but no rotations or tornado warnings. I heard Oklahoma was expecting some this evening. Those poor people. We need to keep them in our prayers.
Well going to get off and tend to these children. BTW I stopped over at Val's blog and there are pics of her new home and wedding pics there also. Here's the link:

Hey gals. Just stopping by, as I think I managed to miss May completely

Today marks one year since we arrived in the USA, and time has flown by so quickly. Blink and you'll miss it! The kids finish up at school Wednesday lunchtime, so then summer begins Jemma start High School in the Fall, and she will be sad to leave Jnr High, as a lot of her friends are not going to her HS. The Jnr High has a huge catchment area, and feeds into 4 or 5 High Schools.

I haven't been scrapping much at all lately, I have made a few cards though. I have been making my first quilt which I finished binding yesterday. I am quite pleased with how it turned out! I will be getting my scrapbook head on this month, as DH's aunt sent over some memorabilia from his cousins wedding in Tunisia with a request of could I make something for the bride and groom I need to contact another cousin to get some photos, but I was thinking of making a star book or a paperbag book. I will need to get some supplies in, any excuse to go shopping

Val, if you are reading this, your DDs wedding looked beautiful as does your new home

I will try to keep up this month

Sarah

Val love the cowboy boots at the wedding. what a great memory. the locale was so serene and you lucked out on the weather. 5/25 is bound to be a lucky day...

Here's a LO I finished yesterday but didn't have time to post.

Mother's Day Garden

Now I'm off to (Hopefully) finish painting the boys' room, despite a bit of a late start.

Hi everyone! I am making a quick stop to say Hi and post a page.

Sarah-so great to see you stopping by! Post a photo of your quilt-we would love to see it! Knowing you it has to be beautiful!

Kelly-they went to dinner for their anniversary is all I know! Not sure if they did anything else -they were going to play golf but it started storming. The kids kept me busy but we had fun. They always make me tell them a made up story before they will go to sleep, and coming up with one is not easy. This weeks version was similar to Hansel & Gretel. LOL! But of course they were saved! LOL!

Nylene-Thanks for the new thread!

Linda-Where are you and what are you up to???? How is the house coming???

Here is my layout:

I painted...I'm not finished...almost, but not quite. I'm done for today. Stopped in time to play along with a speedscrap on another site. Here's my LO from that effort.

Now I'm just relaxing and eating (forgot to do that while I was painting)

Hello all, my name is Ruthie. I've been in a funk lately and came on 2Peas to get some inspiration and happen to read your thread. It sounds like a great group. Could I join in?

Currently, a light lit up in the funky department and I started a mini paper bag album for my friend at work. She went to Disney this year, so that's the theme of the mini. I hope to get it done tonight or tomorrow night. I started on Friday, so I don't think I'm too bad. But as for other ideas, it's a big 'ole womp womp womp. Hopefully some of your projects spark the flame again.

I have left praise to the ladies that linked their projects on here. Great work everyone. Hope you all have a great day.

Ruthie you are more then welcome to join the Pokey Peas! We are mainly here to encourage each other to scrap so you will fit right in! The goal is to try to do four layouts a month, but if you don't we understand as life does get in the way sometimes. You can definitely do more then four also.

Thank you for your kind words on my layout. We would love to know a little more about you. I am Cindy AKA trouble! I am a wife, mom and grandma. I am a retired nurse and my passion is scrapping. I do both digi and traditional.

A big warm HI! To everyone this Monday! Hope you are all doing well. I had a quiet weekend-got three more perennials for my gardens-Spider wort, Joe Pye Weed and some purple salvia. So we got those in the ground today and I gave my holly bushes a haircut!
I am starting my last week of my class this week. I do not have another one lined up yet-maybe I will get some regular scrapping done!

Not much going on in my world so I am going to go for now-I will BBL!

Hugs, Cindy

Ruthie- WELCOME! As Cindy said, feel free to chat and share as you want. I am Kelly, married, cardmaker, crafter and live in CA. I look forward to see your mini album. It sounds like fun and I know your friend will love it.

Cindy- So glad your dd and sil enjoyed their wedding anniversary. ALso, sounds like you and the kids enjoyed each other, too. Did you come up with a good bedtime story? How cute is that???

Awwww, thank you for the warm welcome ladies. A little about me. Well, I'm 26, live with my wonderful boyfriend of almost two years (in July), have an adorable 17 1/2 month old, and live in the Midwest. I mostly scrap about my baby girl, but I do have tons of pictures of years past that I would like to do as well.

I worked a little on the mini last night. Not sure how to do the page, so I was having a trial and error moment. I'm hoping it turns out how it looks in my mind. LOL So funny how the things that seem hard are easy and the hard easy. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Welcome, Ruthie. We are always glad to add new Pokeys. I am the mother of 4 great kids and grandmother to 13. Most of my scrapping is about those grands. I live in Utah and 3 of our 4 children live in the same county...opposite ends of the county, but still in the same county.
I look forward to seeing your Disney mini. Disneys are my very favorite pages to do, but I don't have any photos left to scrap. Guess I need another trip to Disney!!

Sarah!!!! So nice to see you dropping in. Sounds like you have really settled in to the US. I can't remember how long you expect to be stationed here. My little English cub just graduated and I really miss his accent. We want to see your quilt! Drop in when you can.

Val, your wedding looks like such fun. I, too, love the boots! When Angie was married she wore white winter boots with fur on the top. It was really cute when she lifted her long dress. Great photos. You look great, my friend. Are you still running some?

Kelly, did you get some painting done? Be sure to share if you did. I'm sorry you are getting bbq smoke from the neighbors. We just get the smell and it makes me hungry! I printed a bunch of Calif. photos and I find that I took a lot of Palm tree photos! Not surprising.

Cindy, I had to laugh at the kids asking for stories. My grands always want me to play "the bad, mean witch" who comes in and threatens them if they don't have everything picked up ready for bed. Why they like that, I'll never know, but I oblige them. Silly traditions with grandma, I guess.

Debi, where are the photos of all the work you did last weekend? What kind of curtains are you making? We need photos. Glad you are feeling better and have done a little scrapping. Does your X take the boys for part of the summer, or do you keep your same arrangement?

Barb, I'm glad to see you scrapping. Keep up the good work. I just printed 181 photos (Angie gave me a coupon for 100 free) and I can't wait to sit down and scrap. What are your plans for summer?

It's Cubs day, so I won't get any scrapping done today. We are starting our Geologist badge and my sweet son brought me samples of granite, marble, slate, etc. (he's a contractor) and broke it all up for me so the boys can start their rock collections with some cool rocks. They will be so excited when they come today.

Be back later.

Hope everyone is having a good day so far. Mine is moving along. I didn't get any painting done yesterday but hope to try it today. Instead, I washed my hair last night and if you have seen my hair, you know that is a great task! Now today I will finish it up and smile when it is all done.

OH, I posted a few pics from my golf course bday dinner on my blog. Hope you stop by. (link is below)

Ruthie- Glad to have you with us. Enjoy that mini and look forward to seeing it when you are done.

Nylene- Your son is a good boy giving you those rock pieces. I know your scouts will having fun learning about it all. Yeah, that bbq smoke was a little too much but I gotta get used to it since Summer is here. Maybe I need to go out there and join the party and get some of that bbq.

Waving hi to Pam, Cindy, Debi, Amy, Maribeth, Linda, Anne, Angie, Val, and all you sweet peas.

I didn't do anything today so nothing to chat about-LOL. After staying up late (really late) 2 nights in a row typing Noah's papers, I slept most of today. Did finish my book, but really, I did nothing productive at all.

Kids went to an orientation night at the high school. It was nice to see the school upclose and get the info for signing up for sports, but really I thought it mostly a waste of time...too generic of information to be very helpful. Did see a few families from our elementary school so that was was good.

Now we're home. Maybe I'll go to bed early as I'm not very motivated to do anything.

Nylene - I've never been to Disney. Well, technically I have but I was in diapers and my mom always reminds me. LOL So I am looking forward to taking Dali to visit the giant mouse's house when she gets a little bigger.

Kelly - Happy Belated Birthday! The course looked very peaceful and beautiful. Hope you enjoyed.

Jen - We are both Illinois girls. Woot woot! I live in the far west suburbs of Chicago, how about yourself? I've been wanting to find a LSS that's not a big box store. Do you have a LSS?

Last night I worked on the mini, and finished the page that was giving me problems. I like how it came out. So tonight I hope to bind it together and complete it. Key word on hope. The baby has been wanting to sit on my lap as I scrap. So what I did was get her some big crayons and a coloring book and have her sit next to me. It's really nice for me, until she wants to grab the craft knife and scissors. LOL

Hope everyone has a good day!!!

RUTHIE I never went to Disney as a kid, and have been there twice as a younger adult but I'd love to go with the kids. They, however went to Disney World, with their dad a few years back so don't know if we'll do that. I suspect they are getting "too old" for Disney now.

Here's a LO I did for another site's challenge to use this sunburst paper (which was red pink yellow)-I recolored part of it. Not my favorite LO but it's a page done.

Countdown to graduation

have a go great day

RUTHIE, Crafting is always a challenge with a toddler around. When my boys were toddlers (I have twins) I had to put a baby gate around the computer so they couldn't get to it. LOL I hardly ever paper scrapped when they were up because of how hard it was to keep little hands out of the stash. Maybe that's one reason I really like digital scrapping...nothing for anyone to get into and I can close it up in a snap.

I'm not sure what is going on with me, but I've been extremely exhausted, to the point of not being able to stay awake the last few days. It's frustrating because I have stuff i want to do but no energy. Even typing is a chore.

Hope this passes soon.

Ruthie! Welcome. I'm a stay at home mom of two. My oldest is just finishing Kindergarten tomorrow. And my youngest is an energetic red-headed three year old. I was recruited to the Pokeys by my mom, Nylene. (I'm the one child of hers that doesn't live nearby. I'm in California.) This has been a good place for me. I wouldn't get nearly as much done if I didn't have the encouragement.

Sorry, I've only just skimmed the thread this month. It sounds like everyone is crazy busy. And Jen, I hope you are NOT busy doing anything but healing. I think about you often.

Cindy-love to see your smiling face!

Kelly-i can feel the creative vibe in your posts. I love it when you get in the mode to create! It's very inspiring.

I just posted a couple of pages. My husband may not be happy about one of them. It's a 2 page layout and one the 2nd page I used a picture of him pulling a funny face. But guess what? You make a funny face, you get a funny picture and it still ends up in the scrapbook. Besides, our family sees his silly side all the time but he doesn't often share that with the rest of the world. Nice of me to help him with that, right?

Here they are:
Ice Cream at Disneyland

Wishful Thinking

This is probably it for me this month. We'll be off to see family soon!

Welcome, Ruthie! I am a mother of 3 (a boy 9, girl 7 and another girl 4) and physical therapist. You will love this group! They are a great bunch of ladies and our fearless leader (Nylene) is the best of all!

Nylene-Last month on a comment, you asked about a font. I am pretty sure it is Preppy Side by Darcy Baldwin. I think I got it in a purchased package of several or in a collab kit. I am such a font junkie, I can't remember where they all come from!

Debi-I hope you are feeling better. Did you finish the painting?

Sarah-I can't believe you have been here a year! It seems like only a few months ago we were all sympathizing with your extended and stressful move. I'm glad you and your children have seemed to enjoy it so much.

Hello to everyone else! Here are a few of the layouts I have done lately!

Katie

This one is my sweet neice! I am putting together a book for my parents with the last 3 years of my kids yearly pages (the grids with a pic/mth) so I had to make a page of sweet Ellie's first eight months to go into it.
Ellie

Here's another one for the photobook-summer recap from 2010!
Summer Top Ten

Been there, done that--have the layout!

AMY I did finish the painting although I haven't finished putting the room totally back together as I need to set up the desktop computers up there. Since they are heavy I need to get the boys to haul them up the stairs. And we've just been too busy to worry about it. Maybe this weekend. I need to get AFTER photos too so I can do a page.

I'm still feeling funky...I swear I have a smoker's cough even though I've never smoked...my nose is dry and stuffy and I have a headache (3 days now)--so I'm thinking allergies. The cottonwood is really high right now although it could be a number of things getting me as I'm allergic to grass, dust, molds, etc...I feel like I need to be steamed out...LOL

I got more phone calls today (several telemarketing calls) and a call from my cousin, and another friend, neither whom I have talked to in about a year. Wonder why today was such a big phone day? I got more calls than I probably get in a normal 6 months.

Tomorrow the boys have their last middle school symphonic band concert. I'm going to really miss their band teacher. He is absolutely amazing with what he can get those kids to produce. Looking forward to the concert.

Now, I'm looking forward to going to bed, if I can stop coughing long enough to fall asleep.

Debi

Morning guys.

Welcome Ruthie I am the resident British Pokey of the group, currently living in Jacksonville, Florida. My DH is military and is on exchange with the US Navy for 3 years, and we've been here a year already! I have 2 kids, aged 11 and 14. This is a friendly bunch of gals

Debi, I hope you find some energy soon, sounds like it could be allergies. We went to DDs last middle school chorus concert last week, not a dry eye in the house by the end, as their Chorus teacher sings to the leaving 8th graders. My DD was in floods of tears after the first line. She has had a wonderful year with this teacher, who is a huge Dr Who fan, so they have spent alot of time discussing plots etc

Nylene, your Cub Scout troop is so lucky to have your family. I bet those Cubs are so sad to leave.

Angie, safe trip to Utah, we know you will have a blast visiting with your sweet Mom

Jen, I hope you are recovering well

Cindy, never a dull moment at your house, is there? Your grands will keep you on your toes for sure

Kelly, BBQ - yummy. Although, the smoke, not so nice It always makes me hungry when I go out back and smell all the grills on a sunny afternoon

Well, girls, we are battening down the hatches waiting for Tropical Storm Andrea to mosey on by.... It's been raining since 4pm last night, we have flood warnings throughout the whole of the Jacksonville area. My retention pond is doing it's job so far... The real fun starts about lunchtime - a large band of severe t-storms, possibly with tornado activity is coming through, and the winds will start to pick up and strengthen overnight. I think they are saying gusts of up to 45 mph...
We were supposed to go kayaking today Jemma then wanted to have a friend over - said friend lives about 25 mins drive away (large Jnr High catchment area) - but I put my foot down and said no way was I ferrying her about in a tropical storm. Cue one stroppy teenager...

Hoping the power stays on, as then at least the kids are amused. They finished for summer break yesterday, hence why it is raining Also, if the power stays on, this mama stays amused too - I am quilting my DDs quilt just now
I promise you a picture when they are both done

Take care everyone!

Sarah

Good afternoon! Stopping by to say hi, catch up and post a page.
I have been working in my yard, and trying to scrap a little. Had to go to the funeral home last night as Bob's friend since childhood and best man at our wedding passed away last Friday. Bob will miss him. Today I am sore from cutting back a holly bush, and then my burning bush. But it looks so much better.
BTW I am so proud of my grandchildren. They both were recognized this morning at their school. Both got perfect attendance for the fourth quarter, Good Reader awards, and Maggie made the year honor roll. -Bobby is too young for that one yet.

Sarah-so good to see you. I felt bad for your DD-sounds as emotional as me. I cry over all that kind of stuff.

Angi-good to see your smiling face too! We know you are busy with those youngsters.

Kelly-My stories are really bad so I do not know why they keep making me tell them. LOL

Waving a big hello to one & all-here's the link to my page:

Hey JEN how are you feeling? Any stronger?

SARAH I'm a sucker for sappy stories like that. I tear up at everything. I expect tonight will be emotional too. Next week is graduation ceremony to say good-bye to the exiting 8th graders...need to take a hanky with me I'm sure.

CINDY smart grands you have.

I just finished a LO about my first husband...not sure why I felt like scrapping that today, but it is a part of my history, so why not? So now you may know more about me than you ever wanted to.

Debi-It's good that you have pictures even if you didn't go on the trip. I don't think that I'll ever be "too old" to go to Disney. I'm a over-grown big kid, LOL. I would be into the digital scrapping, but I work in an office and don't want to be in front of a computer any longer than I have to. My eyes just can't take the light or screens some days.

I don't have any allergies, but my bf does have seasonal and it's so bad. He is a big guy, 6'3, and to see him so helpless makes me sad. I really hope you feel better.

Angie-Thank you for the warm welcome. Congrats to the kindergarten grad! Those are some great pictures, even with the silly face. All I get are silly faced pictures from my BF, so I have to be a photo ninja and take them when he's not looking.

Amycoffeypt-I'm not that into fonts, but I have watched YT and see Thickers hauls all the time. Then they get me into going to the store to buy some. LOL I'm such a follower with YT. Great layouts, I really like how you put so many pictures on them.

Sarah-Thank you for the welcome. Hope everything goes well for your home and family through the storm. Please stay safe.

Cindy - Sorry for you and your husbands loss. Congrats to your grandkids. You are one proud Grandmother.

So I finished the Disney mini late last night. I have to photograph it though. I'm very happy how it turned out and hope that my friend likes it. I don't have any plans for this weekend. So I'm hoping to relax and do whatever I want. LOL

Not scrap related. I want to lose some of the baby weight that I have gained back so I started to jog after work. I started to jog, walk, and jog a lap. Yesterday I jogged the three laps which is 2 miles. I'm super happy with myself. Hope everyone has a great day.

RUTHIE I don't have photos from the boys DISNEY trip as they went with their dad and step-mom, who shares nothing with me. But that's ok, I've gotten lots of photos from other adventures.

Good for you for starting jogging. I'm very bad about doing any regular exercise and fortunately I didn't gain alot with my twin pg and lost more than I gained right after they were born (stress? breast-feeding? whatever--it worked). My weight behaves itself; now if I could get my rheumatoid arthritis and its side effects to behave, I'd be good to go.
We all have our health challenges, don't we?

Kids had their last band concert last night. It was very good albeit long (4 bands-3 hours of performances). Was glad to get home as were the boys as they still needed to study for a japanese test this morning.

Still missing one set of headgear (for braces). ANy ideas of where I might look that I haven't already?

Here's a LO I did this morning.

Now and Forever

have a great day

Ruthie, I'm anxious to see your mini Disney book posted. Congrats on the running! My knees won't take jogging, but I can walk and do that as often as possible.

Cindy, congrats on the Kid's awards. That is wonderful. Isn't it nice to live close enough to be part of their lives. I'm so sorry about your Best Man. Hugs to Bob from me. I love your heritage pages! I need to get photos from my sister and do some heritage pages.

Sarah, so nice to see you. I would have cried at the concert too. My tear glands have increased with my age!! Glad your DD has had a great year. How's the weather?????

Jen, you didn't say how you were feeling, so I'm hoping that means that you are coming along OK. Do you have a lot of restrictions for a while?
So nice to see your happy face.

Debi, I had my DGD sitting next to me to show her Angie's layouts. I went on down the thread and clicked on your layout. I mumbled under my breath, "I wish I could read that tiny writing." Ashley said, "Here grandma, let me teach you how to zoom in!" Of course she had to teach me how to zoom out when I finished, but I was so excited to read your journaling. All this time I had no idea you could"zoom in". It's as exciting as the day I learned there was a "right click" on a mouse. So just the fact that I can post this thread every month is a real achievement for me!!!

Amy, thanks for the info about the font. I did look it up. I don't usually buy fonts, but I have bought a couple of hers. They really speak to me. It's one I'm putting on my Wish List.

Kelly, what's new in the land of beautiful palm trees?

I have spent the last 2 days shopping for fabric, helping to put it on the quilting frames, and helping 2 of the grands tie 4-H quilts. I was amazed at how fast they were. I said we had to have them off the frames before Angie arrives so maybe one of them could tie before she comes and one after. (The frames take my whole living room.) Well, not only did we get them on the frames, the girls did most of the work themselves and finished both. One is partially bound. I'll take photos and do a page when they get finished. I have a feeling they'll just have handwork to do after tomorrow. They are 9 & 11 and pretty comfortable with my sewing machine.

Well, dinner doesn't get on the table by itself and we've had sandwiches every night this week because I've been scouting and 4-H'ing
so I'd better go cook something.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
See you soon, Angie!

Happy Friday! I hope your day is going well. Not sure what I will get into creatively today but hope to try something. (Creatively is that spelled right? oh well )

One thing I did this week was make some lemon cookies with cake batter. They turned out so good. In fact, I should go eat one, now. Yummy!

Ruthie- Doesn't it feel great to finish a project? I know your friend will love your album. Also, congrats on the exercise.

Cindy- Sorry to hear about your loss but glad you all were there to support the family.

Angie- You have been so busy girl! I hope you get some "u" time soon. ALso, thanks for the vote of confidence in my crafts. I do enjoy creating and trying new things.

Sarah- I hope that storm passes you all by. Wishing you safety and peace.

Debi- Hope you get your energy back soon.

Nylene- How are ya doing? Hang in there!

Take care everyone and have a nice evening!

NYLENE I can't read this site unless I zoom in (CTL+) and it's the only way I can deal with how bright they changed it to. I zoom until the margins go away. It's one of the things that I like about computers is for most things you can zoom in to get the image bigger. I couldn't digi scrap without it, especially doing extractions I zoom in to 400% usually to make sure I get the edges clean. Now that you know the secret, you will enjoy being on the computer even more. Sometimes though with LOs because the LOs are saved at a low resolution (72dpi) even zooming in doesn't always make the writing readable. Glad your DGD helped you and now you can read my journaling if you want.

Still waiting to hear from my cousin if she's coming to stay this weekend at all so she can visit her dh who's in ICU. He has a lot of health issues including being extremely overweight (the operation was for a gastric bypass to hopefully get him to lose some weight so they can work on his heart and lung issues). Oh it isn't easy getting older, is it?

Speaking of zooming, I need to zoom downstairs and rustle up some grub for the family. We had sandwiches (albeit Vietnamese ones) last night at the concert and cereal the night before. A real meal might be in order...

Nothing from my cousin...

Here's a LO I did of the boys in their concert attire for their concert last night...Handsome dudes, if I say so myself. I'm a sucker for formal wear.

Cool Dudes

Tried to get the boys to go to Krispy Kremes tonight for a free donut (National Donut Day) but they declined...what's this generation coming to that they'd refuse a Krispy kreme donut? Guess I didn't really need the extra calories, but geesh.

Good morning! Hope your weekend is going well. It is chilly and wet here. I wish the weather would make up its mind as my sinuses and allergies have about had it. I am going to be busy with the grands all day, so thought I would stop by and say Hi! Becky has to work today as her place of employment does a warehouse sale once a year and this is it. Not complaining as this is the only Saturday she has to work all year. Hope to do some scrapping later in the day.

Have a good one! BBL!

Good Morning everyone, yes, I have been a bit absent from the board lately, but I hope you will all forgive me, because I have been very very productive with my scrapbooking projects, and all around busy.....

....had a great visit with the grandgirls last weekend, and Twiggy decided she wanted to start scrapbooking (she is 7). We made four pages together, and now she wants her own kit like her big sister Sara has (Sara began scrapbooking with me when she was eight, but has recently lost interest it seems. So I have been doing a stash clean out to get a stash of stuff for Twiggy's kit. My stash needed a going through so it is working out great.

.....we have a new addition to our household. A stray puppy showed up at our door Thursday, scared out of his mind. We live in a ruralish area, and a somewhat impoverished area and this leads to a lot of animal dumping. Although we do not know for sure, we have tried to find anyone who lost a dog, but so far no one seems to be looking for one. This is how our cat Desmond came to us as well. We lost our dogs (17 years) last year, so I guess God decided we needed to help this little guy out. He is mostly healer according to the vet, and about 4 months old. Seems to be in great health, and although he was terrified at first, he seems to have attached himself to us already. We will be starting obedience class next Sunday as we would like to be able to socialize this guy with the cat and bring him in the house once and a while. (Our old dogs were strictly outside, but they had each other, this guy is alone and we think he needs to come in occasionally).

.....swamped at work, our little town is getting a new truck stop and the company I work for is supplying all the aggregate and concrete materials for the project great for the company and for the community, bad for me, it is going up right at the end of my road I liked my quite rural existence. I am far enough away that when I am at my home it won't bother me at all, it will only be entering or leaving my subdivision that I will be bothered by it.

Have a wonderful Sunday. I hope to go back and read the posts a look at all your pages a bit later this afternoon, but now back to purging my stash.

Hi there! Popping in to say hello since I was MIA for May. I think trying to participate in all those NSD challenges really did me in. LOL! Unfortunately, I haven't been feeling well but I have a dr's appt tomorrow so crossing my fingers that all will be well soon.

And welcome Ruthie! Glad you to see you here. These ladies are the nicest, most encouraging bunch of peas you will ever find!

I will have to come back for one of my epic posts but wanted to say hi and that I miss you all. Hope everyone is doing well. Take care!

Got to look at everyone's page that posted a link, caught up on most of your news. Thought I was going to get back to purging my stash and organizing my craft room, but hubby and I got involved in major garage cleaning. We need to get it cleaned and organized so our new addition can have a place to be if we have stormy weather, cleaned the rest of the house, took a bath and now I am back in my room and going to tackle this. I think I will go eat first, and then come back and see what I can get done.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Sunday!

I finally called about a week ago to have my a/c repaired. I thought it had to do with the issues I had been having but the fan now quit. The compressor, coils and a slow leak is what I have been hoping would last a little longer. I was advised in 2010 to replace my unit. I was told I should just get a new unit because they are phasing out R-22 freon which my a/c took plus was leaking. I decided it was best to get a new unit than to repair a unit that was 17 years old. I got 3 estimates and ended up choosing the same place that did all my sewer work. I should qualify for a rebate from the utility company plus they are running a 36 months 0% financing special in June. They come on Monday morning to install my new, much improved unit!

They took my old a/c unit on Friday so I have been trying to get rid of the ivy that grows like crazy in that area. I found me a few garden snakes while cleaning it out! One of the snakes climbed up my house and got into a hole and kept coming out to peek at me. Then I found more snakes underneath something on my patio. I was quite jumpy by the time I got done! I need to still finish a few things. I made weed killer with vinegar, salt and dawn soap. I have sprayed that on the ivy and hope it works!!

I am officially on vacation! I keep getting phone calls from work to help. I have been saying no! I hope they stop calling me and let me enjoy my vacation.

Bawzie, my furbabies are doing good! I have a cute picture of Felix hanging off a ladder. I need to scrap that funny moment! Pandora is just cute and elegant. I also call her my blonde beauty. Phoebe, my pug, is doing good. Phoebe is due for her vaccinations this week and then I can get her dog park membership renewed.

Happy Birthday Kelly!! You have the same birthday as my niece! I hope your day was great!!

Kelly, for my vacation, I am wanting to get things done around the house to prepare for refinancing. I have a birthday coming up this week also. I am hoping to go see a movie and get a pedicure to celebrate my birthday. I hope to get together with family. My parents are busy trying to put finishing touches on their house they are building. They finally get to move in this month!

Welcome Ruthie! Glad to have you here!

Sarah, I hope you are safe from the storms!

Cindy, congrats to your grandchildren on their accomplishments!

I am hanging out at the Mudhouse and they are going to be closing soon. I hope to check back soon!

Wow Jana that was quite the update. Hope you can stop in more frequently now...glad you got the AC issue worked out. It'll be nice to be cool again, although where I live, we'd only need AC like a week out of the year. We suffer through that small time as it isn't worth the expense.

I did absolute NOTHING today...not proud of it, but it's what is.

Finally heard from my cousin, they let her dh go home...that was a fast turn around from Thursday being in ICU to Saturday going home. They have to venture back this way in a week for a checkup so will stop for a visit then. So I have a week to get the house in order. I CAN DO IT...right?

Morning!
The Blackhawks are going to the Stanley Cup finals, that's the big news at our house . My boys (DH & DS) are super excited.

My recovery continues. I am not patient and wish it was going faster... My strength IS a little better each day. Thank you all for your inquiries and well wishes.

I started getting some things ready for my scrap group this weekend. Now to do some actual scrapping.

Hope you are all well!

Good Monday Morning everyone.....

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, and I hope your Monday goes well. Wish I could stay home and scrap, but off to work I go. I hope I can get some pages done tonight, I already did one of my courthouse pages this AM so I feel like I am off to a great start, now to keep it up, that is the hard part.

Bandit, our new doggie addition is doing great. We are looking forward to starting doggie obedience class next Sunday, but he is already getting the hang of some stuff.

JEN sorry you are feeling frustrated at the pace of recovery, but just remember every day that is better than the day before is progress. Glad you are planning on doing some scrapping

MELANIE if I recall you have numerous pets other than this new little puppy correct? I like dogs, but I have to admit house training them and keeping them from chewing on everything can tax my patience. Of course, toddlers weren't necessary better...LOL At least my boys weren't chewers but the girl twins I babysat were. Everything went into their mouths, it was always a job to keep stuff not meant to taste out of their reach.

Ok I need to be more productive today, yesterday I was a slug. Today, perhaps I'll go for "sloth"...every day that is better than the day before is progress... LOL

Have a great one

Boy, you take a few days off and this thread really grows! It's great to see you all.

Jana, I'm so glad that the A/C looks like it can be fixed and that you won't have to come up with lots of $ immediately. The 0 interest is a great help. About the snakes....I really love snakes and hope I am never frightened by one falling on me or something. Now a spider sends me screaming! Hope you can get them to find other housing arrangements.

Welcome back, Anne. So nice to see you. You did some wonderful NSD layouts. Take it easy and drop in when you can. I hope you start feeling better.

Maribeth, how nice of you to take in an orphaned fur baby. Bandit is a cute name. Hope he trains easily. Post some of those pages you finished.

Angie arrived safely, after having to replace an alternator in Reno. I'm just glad they weren't in the middle of nowhere...and there's a lot of "nowhere" between here and San Fran. We are having such fun watching all the cousins together. Sam and Drew have WAY MORE cousins on their dad's side so there is never a dull minute for them. They are staying with his family this time. We miss having them just downstairs.

I just have a minute. I'm trying to get ready for Pack Mtg tomorrow night. I have 2 boys graduating and I haven't finished their Arrow of Light boards. Just a bit more to do.

Waving to everyone! I'll come back and visit more later. Have a great week.
