Nice tag, Angela! I'm happy to be its owner.

Postman finally picked mine up on monday. You should have it by week's end.

LOL, Pug. "not happy with where they're going..." You mean the tags--not who they're going to, right?

One thing I often find interesting? When I see what others have done for their tags it can inspire me for current & future projects.

I got Daniel's tag today!! Thank you for not doing the red/white/blue theme because when I hear stars/stripes I cant get my head away from it! I have loaded the tag to my gallery and linked it to the blog.

Daniel, I loaded the 2 pics like you requested. I hope I put the one oval in the right place because it was not on the tag when I opened the paper so I was guessing.

Thank you for the awesome tag!!

Thanx Angie!!! I'm glad I didn't give you the 'red, white & blue' blues.

I was able to save your uploads (TYBT) to my puter so I could upload to my gallery & provide info. Sorry the oval shifted, but you came close to its original position when I tucked it in.

Funny story... When I decided to use the striped fish I wanted to also use a starfish stamp. Couldn't find it. Yesterday I moved a few things on my desk & guess what? Yep! There it was. I hadn't even trimmed the rubber.

Glad you liked it April. That tag is so not me that I have no idea who I was channeling when I made it. I think the combination of stress over my cat and a head cold brought out the cute country in me. Regardless of the reason I came up with that tag, I actually liked it when I was done. I think I'm mellowing in my old age.

WooHoo! I FINALLY finished my tag! Who knew June was going to be so hectic!

After 3 attempts to capture the vision in my head, I had to let it go. I learned several lessons along the path that I'll share later when I post the picture.

It's going in the mail tomorrow for sure.

Hooray! I finally got my tags done and I'm happy with them.
3rd time was a charm since I ended up redoing these 3 times! I've got them ready to mail out tomorrow.

Beady, I love your tag! It has such country charm to it! I hope your cat's okay and you're feeling better.

Marshia, can't wait to see what you came up with and learn from your troubles you had.

I had so many issues with my stenciling. I just couldn't get it the way I pictured it in my head.

Leigh Ann it sounds like we had kinda the same issues. Mine just would not conform to the image I had in my head! This is one I had to 'beat into submission'. LOL I cant wait to see what you did with yours.

LOL, Marshia! I have such a vision of you threatening your cowering tag. But I kwym. I had some 'issues' with my July tag. It's not bad, but not what I wanted it to be.

Pug. To answer your 'Q', the ribbon came that way. Someone(?) sent me several bags of various ribbons & fibres.

Finished my tag over the weekend. Yay!

I ended up using what I started with that hadn't originally liked. I agree... it wasn't what was in my head. But it worked for the new direction I took, lol.

Hoping to get it in the mail by Wednesday.

Melissa, Your tag arrived here on Friday, just as we were heading out of town. I absolutely love the 'stencil' you used and that sparkly eyelash lace is sooooo pretty!

I love that you used a 'fan' stamp to create the stars.
Thanks partner!

My tag to Beady is finally in the mail! I fought with this tag all month long! I didn't necessarily want a patriotic tag so I couldn't figure out how to include my stars or stripes! Thank goodness for wiggle room (as Daniel calls it) I'm quite happy with how it turned out. I hope she is too.

Pug, glad you liked the tag. I really didn't think it was going to work out, but it did.

I posted it here: Stars n Stripes

I went pretty 'stars n stripes' standard, hehehe. My lengthy directions show how I did the stenciling and didn't like the result, then ended up using it anyways!

Wow, love all the July tags! I'm curious what the recipients do with their tags? Keep them? Use them on gift packages for others?

Years ago someone gave me a handmade tag that was so cute and I kept it....I STILL have it!

Caribbean Girl's bright and bold tag arrived today. April I love the background and want to know what it's coated with. It doesn't seem smooth enough to be embossing powder. Did you use those micro beads? Crackle paint? Inquiring minds want to know. Please give us the details.

I've made a little book out of chipboard and paperbags that I've been adding my tags in. I display them for a while when I get them and then add them to the book for safe keeping.

SWLady- I went to get the mail today and in the very back of my mail box was a small card from you. The box that you sent it in was opened just a tiny bit but I didn't think anything about it at the time. I'm hoping nothing else was missing from it?! Stinkin' postal service.

I purchased it at the PO and she taped it for me. Next time I will tape it myself!

Thanx for the nice comments, Melissa. Not sure what you mean by 'interpret the ovals'.

The 'flower oval' (which was just 'tucked in' on the tag) fell out & Angie tried to put it back in place. TY, Angie.

The ovals are just part of the composition--not done to go either stars or stripes. HTH.

lol! Daniel I know my comment was probably odd---and I thought about not adding it, b/c -----you know how when you see a piece of art and you wonder what one part "means" to the composition of it but you cannot ask the artist and so the viewer is left to decide/accept for themselves (and not have that question answered) ---well that was how it was for me with the ovals, but then I thought I could ask or let you know that I was trying to understand what role the ovals played in your tag. I wasn't sure though if such a question is "offensive" and sometimes not knowing adds to the art I suppose....though I like "knowing"-- that's my analytical side! I have found over the years that I can "accept" a piece of art "as is" and not NEED to have it all understood for myself---when I was in high school I really didn't like not totally understanding something (hence I didn't care for abstract art then). Well hope that was too deep!

ETA: Thank you for helping me understand it Daniel!

ROTFL, Melissa! I never find questions about my work offense--from you or anyone. Well. Long as they're polite.

In this case the ovals were just there to 'fill the space' (more or less). In hindsight, I'd have been better off gluing the one oval (torn paper) in place since its position was important. 'Sok! That's how we learn.
