Michelle, get on Pinterest and type in kitchen backsplash in the search, might find some good ideas.

No big plans for today. I HAVE to make Father's Day cards today so I that means I have to finish finding my scrap desk but I sure want to be outside instead because it is going to be a high of 80 today. Also will have to go to my friend's house to do her dressing around noon, showing her husband how to do it when he comes in from his Farm so I'll have to wait til he calls to go.

Saw on FB that Diana is leaving Virginia today to go back home. Looks like they had a good visit.

weather forecaster wrong again, already high 80's, not high 70's, back from my friend Jowanna's house, read my Sunday School lesson out on the porch, straightened a tiny (and I mean tiny) bit of the scrap room, played a little candy crush (darn game is so addicting) and have an idea rolling around in my little brain for the cards I need to make

After spending 4 hours today shuttleing kids back and forth to playdates, birthday parties and soccer pictures I can say with certainty that I never want to be a taxi driver! UGH glad that part of the day is over! I"m just getting my lunch now and it's almost 4pm here!

I've done squat...but I did work in the yard for over 5 hours today...so much more still to do but at least you can recognize where I've been...

I help the boys make Father's Day Cards too...maybe I should post those.

Well the bacon is sizzling, washer is running and the coffee's on! Making a big breakfast for Father's Day. Not too much else going on here today. DH might go to bingo but other than that we are not doing anything special.

I hope to get some scrapping done later or in the least some pictures organized.

Have a great day all!

morning girls -

I'm just a weeee bit tired today. Yesterday at J's was one of the best Saturdays we had in a long time...we've got a new manager and I must say
I'm thrilled. I knew her when she trained at our store a few years ago, and I was a little worried that she would be difficult, but omgosh, I was thrilled! Quite a few of us are just ecstatic about it.

But then I had to go shopping, and went to a couple of different stores and didn't get home 'til after 8. I was exhausted! I'm sure a lot of it was just because I've stayed up so late reading and was running on empty. I do have today and tomorrow off, so I'm hoping I can recover, LOL.

Anyway, hope you all have a super day today. and Happy Dad's day to all those Dads out there.

MMMM Bacon, that sounds good. Maybe I should go and make some. No father here, just me and my lonesone, But it's nice to not have to rush around, started the day nice and quiet. Now I'm off to make breakfast, clean the kitchen and do whatever other of the 1000 household chores draws my attention. Have a great day!

And surprisingly, I am not immobilized from all the physical labor yesterday. Will wonders ever cease?

Happy Father's Day to all and sending prayers to those that have lost their Dads.

Was going to grill steaks but after pricing them we're doing burgers instead. It's NASTY outside today, muggy and humid. Storms coming.

Randy loved his card. He's doubtful he'll get to be the boss for even one day though.

Debi, you asked if I was doing Copics, yes, I've used them for years. That's how I color all my cards. I only have around 25 of them, would like more but they're too expensive. I was careful in choosing colors that I could use together to make other shades. Did realize yesterday that I don't really have a decent shade of pink so I'll be picking one of those up next time I'm out.

Toni, hurray for a good manager. I know only too well how bad that makes the job if you don't have a good one.

Tina, I shopped 2P's yesterday with the gift card you gave me. I'll be looking forward to a package in a week or so. Thanks again!

We're headed to see Randy's Dad and Uncle Charlie after lunch so I best get with it.

Debi- Glad you're feeling good today after all that gardening yesterday.

Theresa- What did you buy?

Tossa, I ordered some Webster's PP, a Huey Mask and they are sending a free 6x6 pad of whatever they have extra off just for ordering. Darn shipping was almost as much as the order, and they wonder why they don't get a lot of orders!

Home from running to all the places we had to go. We were just going to load up some reading material for Randy's Dad on his Kindle (to go with his little bag of golf T's) and he wouldn't let us. Said he isn't reading much because he needs new glasses. He was disappointed I'm sure that we didn't bring him a nice present this year but since we've lost over 60% of our income with me not working he'll just have to get over it. I told him Randy could pay for his golf the next couple of times in place of the books. Charlie liked his shirt and snack cakes (yes, bought him snack cakes) and both men liked their cards really well.

Randy has golf on TV and he's snoring in the recliner. If I change the channel he wakes up. He's so funny.

Jeremy called him and they've been texting back and forth over the Cubs game and the golf. Jeremy and Kate are coming in next weekend. They just got back from vacation in The Outer Banks early this morning.

That's about it for me.

Ok, I'm going to come right out and admit that I have not read the thread so I'm way out of the loop. Didn't want you all to forget me so I'm checking in anyway. This is our busiest week at the store all summer. Flea Market/Scavenger's Journey week. Kind of like Christmas week for other retail. Lots to do before the weekend. Bad thing is that we are short of help on Saturday which is the biggest day of the whole thing. My sister and niece are coming to help. Thank goodness.
I'm hoping that after this week is over I will be able to have at least some time to do something for myself. We did go to the Star Trek movie the other night. Greg loves Star Trek and he really wanted to go. Haven't been to a movie in I don't know how long. Nice to do something different for a change. Greg won some tickets on the radio the other day by answering a trivia question. They are for REO Speedwagon at one of the casinos in our area. We thought we might actually be able to work it out and be able to go but now not so sure it will happen. I was kind of looking forward to doing something different for once. We never get to really do anything just for fun in the summer. Maybe it will still work out but I don't know.
Well, wanted to check in. I hope you are all well and enjoying your summer. Take Care!

MELANIE I hope you and dh can find a way to go to the concert...everyone deserves a night out once in awhile. And hey, I don't mind if you pop in without reading the thread. Happy to see you.

THERESA I hear you on having to economize on gifts...but sometimes the budget is mighty slim. It's one of the reasons I never ask for anything from my boys except a card (homemade preferably) as I can't front them money for gifts, and I don't give them an allowance so it's easier this way. How were the hamburgers? We don't have a BBQ any longer...wish we did, as I love BBQ in the summer. I saw Walmart had a gas BBQ for ~$90 but that's still $90 that if I had it, probably would need to be spent on necessities. Oh well I can always broil them, right?

I'm tired, not up to chatting, but just wanted to let you all know I was still around. heading to bed. COmpany coming tomorrow (my cousin and her dh--the one that was in the hospital last week); he's coming to town for a check up. I manage to get the living room in order, the kitchen cleaned so tomorrow I should vacuum, make some iced tea, and organize or stash all the school papers I'm sorting from the dining room table.

But tonight, I've done all I'm going to do.

Had a nice relaxing Sunday here. Heinrich was very happy with the Top Gear mug I got him for Father's Day - his secretary let me know his had broken.

Theresa - I hear you on the finances impacting on gifts. I try to think of it as more of a challenge to get something thoughtful that doesn't cost a fortune. Our finances are recovering, but once this kitchen is done, the budget will be blown again Fortunately it is something that will last for years and DH said we should rather do things properly now than skimping and then not being happy with the quality/look and end up re-doing it in a few years.

I am scrapping while doing the washing. Haven't done any since last Tuesday and with 5 people it has piled up badly. We have a lovely sunny 65F here, so I'm trying to get everything dry today.

Just 4 more school days till our winter school-break.. Then 3 weeks of not rushing in the mornings! Yipee!

I was in DH's office this morning to look at more tile samples (we have finally found something we both like that won't break the bank) and was looking at their collection of Copics. They use them for rendering plans. I made a comment like: "When you throw these out one day, throw them my way." as they are doing most rendering on the computer these days and not physically colouring in plans. He gave me this weird look and said: "Can you use stuff like this in scrapping?" Silly man! He never realised I have my own mini collection of them (22) as I keep them hidden from the kids in my drawer. They think if it is visible they may use it. Learnt the hard way with my Faber Castell Pitt artist pens.

So he turns to a cupboard and shows me all the refills they have for the Copics! Oh my... heaven. I may be able to persuade him I can use some of those colours they have multiple pens of. It is worth a try, anyway.

Need to go hang out another load of washing. The machine is singing. LOL, do any of you also have a LG that pays this long tune when done? We have wondered what tune exactly it is. And on that totally arbitrary note I will say goodbye

Hi ladies!

I had a busy weekend. My sister and her son spent the weekend at our house. Her son has a lot of special needs and lives in a treatment facility right now. I hadn't seen him in years because he was too volatile to fly, but he was really good this time. His behavior was the best that I'd seen from him in his life, so I think that the meds and treatment must be working for him, it was nice to have him behave fairly normally. They went back to my Mom and Dad's yesterday and are flying out tomorrow.

I also went to Grandpa sit yesterday after my sister left. He was in the hospital last week and they discharged him on Thursday no better than when he went in. He is a mess, seems to have "sun downers" and is yelling and whining all day every day, he has a serious fear of dying and won't eat. I feel really bad for my aunt who takes care of him, he isn't very nice to her. My Grandpa was pretty much an Archie Bunker clone when he was younger, so he is definitely not very nice as he is getting older.

Theresa - I'm glad that you got some goodies, I always like getting happy mail.

Melanie - you should try to go to that concert, I bet it would be fun.

Ron had a nice Father's Day, the kids & I got him fun beach wear for our vacation and had a cook out for lunch. He also went to visit Mallory at her camp last night and they played games and had dinner together.

Well, I have a ton to do at work, this week is going to be crazy busy. I need to get a bunch of contracts done before I go on vacay.

Take care all! Hope you have a great day!

Tina

Dragging this morning. Woke up, wandered around the house for a bit and went back to bed for another hour. Still feel exhausted. Think it'll be a stay home and park on the couch most of the day kind of day. Talked to my Aunt Ruby this morning and she's going to get to go home so I don't "have" to be anywhere.

Melanie good to see you. Go to the concert even if it means closing the shop to go! You both work hard and you deserve the treat.

Michelle, I think I would start visiting DH's office and "borrowing" Copics! Glad you found some tile you both like. Poor Randy wouldn't have been really given a vote although I would have showed him options to make him think he had one, LOL.

Debi, hope you have a good visit with your cousin.

Tina, glad the weekend visit with family went well and glad the nephew's getting the treatment he needs.

Speaking of treatment, Austin goes to see the doctor today to get his Tourette's diagnosis and hopefully medication to get him on the right track. My sister is really struggling with it and her husband goes between denial, acceptance then turns into stupidity so that's not helping their family at all.

Well I did get laundry started and the washer just kicked off so I guess I best get up and switch out loads. Have a great day all.

Glad to hear everyone had a good weekend!

I am off to a slow start too! I let the kids sleep in because Kassie kept them up by puking all over the bed. That reminds me I have sheets to wash. I have an LG washer and dryer too Michelle and mine sing to me as well.

Not much to say today, just checking in and reading everyone's posts.

Howdy!!! I'm back, well got back a little after midnight Sunday AM.. It was a quick trip but very relaxing, the storm left us without electricity from Thursday at 3:30pm to Friday at 8:30am. The whole town and it's adjacent towns were without electricity, so we took a long nap. Later that evening we found a restaurant that was open only one it was a beautiful all you can eat buffet expensive but beautiful we went and just when we were about to finish eating the power went off, catching Natalie and me is a pitch black bathroom, it was scary, thankfully another customer brought her phone in and used it a a flashlight. After finishing our dinner in candle light we went home and slept some more LOL!!!

The graduation was so beautiful, the Coast Guard is such a family oriented branch of the military that they make sure that the family is well informed. There were just 9 graduates and Tyler looked so handsome, he is now a Petty Officer. I'm very proud of this kid, even with his learning disability he struggles but gets it done. Now he is enrolling in college, he is stationed is Boston for the next year.

Now I'm back at work and have a pile of paper a mile high and i'm playing on the computer. BUt I had to come say hello.

Love reading about everyone and found things out I did not know.

I'll tell you 10 quick things about me.

1. I'm the oldest of 3.

2. I was born in Cuba and came to this country in 1969 at the age of 7.

3. I started law school and met the devil married him and left law school or any school for that matter. (MY only regret in life) After 5 years of constant abuse, and a meeting with a priest (who he thought was going to be on his side) got help from the church and divorced him.

4. Have been married 3 time.

5. I'm still good friends with my second husband. And the only one who can handle him when he has a Bi=Polar episode. He respects me a lot.

6. Have 3 kids. 2 with my second marriage and 1 with my current one.

7. Have 4 Step kids.

8. If you can't handle the truth, don't ask me any questions. I don't sugar coat much.

9. I always look at the cup 1/2 full. Take one day at a time and don't stress the little stuff, heck I don't stress the big stuff either. I is what it is.

10. I'm not very religious, but I'm very spiritual.

Ok I have written a book. I will come back and catch up later.

Have a wonderful day.

Diana, glad you had a good time.

Austin was officially diagnosed with Tourette's today. He's been started on clonidine twice a day to help with the symptoms. The doctor said that since it started at such an early age it will probably be something he will outgrow when he hits puberty. We are praying the meds work.

THERESA wouldn't that be nice if Austin just outgrows it. Hope that is true. I'm afraid Owen is going to be "quirky" all his life. He's a lot like his paternal grandfather, bright but disconnected.

Been fighting with the ex and his newest wife. Been standing up for myself and they don't like it...so they start throwing tantrums, throwing insults and saying nasty remarks about me in front of the kids. It's hurtful and a bit pathetic when they accuse me of being controlling because I won't just roll over and do everything their way. I refused to let the boys take the bus (requiring them to leave 1.5 hrs early (they wanted them to leave 2.5 hrs early) plus a transfer downtown) to their house for visitation mid-week -a 2.5 hr visiting time, because ex doesn't want to come and pick them up. I have to drive 1 hr to retrieve them at the end of the night. When they suggested it before during the winter, it all had to happen after dark and the bus transfer isn't in a very good part of town, nor is the area ex now lives (lots of drug activity and recent murders & driveby shootings in their neighborhood), but mostly I don't feel the kids should have to take the brunt of the commute to relieve ex of it, nor do I think I should have to give up my time with the kids to give the kids extra time to travel to ex's. I may be "petty", "controlling" and "difficult"--some of the nicer things they called me, but that's my position. I'm so tired of always being at their mercy and trying to make nice to keep the peace when they don't reciprocate. And since they run to the grandparents with all their woes about how horrible I am, I've decided I can't let their opinion of me bother me anymore either. Nothing I do is going to endear me to any of them, depite the fact we had a great realtionship while I was married and for awhile afterwards, til ex restricted them from socializing with me (and I have the control issues...LOL).Let them dislike me. I sacrifice everything for my kids, and if they can't appreciate that I take being a mom seriously, then so be it. Just wish they'd leave me alone, and keep the kids out of the middle.

Here's a LO I did-a tribute to our fish, recently passed, and a poem written by my son, NOah, about his fish Blinky, the orange one.

Morning all!

Debi, no way I'd let the boys ride a bus by themselves in this day and age. Just way too dangerous. HE decided to move to where ever he currently lives. If it's too far for him to come get the boys, it's HIS problem. As for them bad mouthing you in front of the kids, I say let them hear the crap you have had to put up with for years. Just remember to keep your cool and not resort to their level. The boys still need for at least one parent to be responsible.

hey girls -

Diana - glad you had a great time! I really, really miss the beach.

We got Larry a Kindle Fire for Father's Day...he was shocked and soooo excited, LOL.

Anyway, just got to tell you that a friend talked me into being on a DT
on Turtle Soup ... it's based in Canada. So I know for a while it will take up a lot of my time, so if I'm scarce you'll know why. It has challenges daily and a minicrop once a month and although there is a lot of us, it switches back and forth. So, if you want to stop by, please do...although it really doesn't begin until July 1st.

Anyway, I've spent way too long on the computer today, so I'm off.

Have a super-de-duper day.

Toni, congrats on the DT. If you're anymore scarce on here you won't be here at all, LOL.

Sad not to have all my imaginary friends on here anymore. When I was working all the time I didn't have the time to chat, now that I have the time, no one is here.

THERESA the trouble is when I was married, my then-dh, didn't say anything...we never argued, I didn't know he was unhappy til he announced he was leaving 3 days before we came home from our annual vacation in Mexico. He moved out and into the arms of the now-newest wife (well he'd been in her arms for nearly 7 months by then --he was working out of town and living life as a single man-as I later found out, the day we arrived home. From that point on he's been an angry, very angry man and his newest wife is quite the piece of work herself. They have spent oodles of time belittling me to the kids, trying to intimidate me by double teaming me and have been pretty uncooperative with any adjustments to our parenting agreement unless it obviously benefitted them. They have not stepped up to the plate at all, even though the newest wife doesn't work and has a brand new car so she's available (theoretically) to pick up the boys should ex's work detain him, yet she doesn't. They chose to move (3rd time) to other end of town increasing both our commute times tremendously. I had no say in that, and believe me it is inconvenient especially when they used to live only a little over a mile away. But I deal. He's tired of doing the commute from work to my house to his house mid-week, the same commute I have in reverse at the end of his visitation. But I don't feel I need to give him extra time or to send the boys via bus, who definitely are old enough to travel by bus, to relieve him of the commuting duties. He never accommodated me in a similar scenario when the boys were younger, so I guess Karma is catching up to him. But it is very hard to deal with an angry, foul-speaking ex on my doorstep or in my living room who feels the only way to get his way is to verbally put me down in front of the boys. Hasn't he heard that honey works better than vinegar....you rub my back, I'll rub yours? I'm tired of being nice only to get spit at...and I don't have to give him reasons why I say no to the boys commuting by bus to his house. The plan says he picks them up, I retrieve them mid-week...so it can stay that way. I'm venting just so I can boister up my confidence when I go to pick up the boys this evening and expect to be double-teamed. They have been on a rampage since Thursday, creating 3 big blow-ups over 3 different issues, so it's been quite stressful for me who wants everyone to be happy, and aggravating to me that the boys are placed in the middle. I don't want to talk to him anymore, but trying to get him off my porch or out of my living room isn't easy as he's spouting nothing but venom. They just don't take being told, "no," very well. Yet have no problem telling me, "no," to everything. Ahhh...isn't divorce grand? it wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have to deal with co-parenting (LOL) with these two. Ok, enough whining.

Even though the weather report said it was going to rain and have thunderstorms today, it has been sunny and warm, although the wind appears to be picking up and I do see clouds coming in, so perhaps we'll get the rain later. We did haave rain during the night last night. I'm hoping for a relatively warm and dry, if possible, rest of the week as the boys are outdoors at Ultimate camp from 9-3 every day. It's not as much fun when it gets wet and cold.

Haven't done any scrapping today, been sorting through the kids' schoolwork over the year...want to organize the japanese lessons so they can use it to review as they go into Japanese next year, and maybe the math notes. I try to keep samples of their reports, stories, special projects but there is a lot of stuff I'll just toss because they'd never use it again. Two kids can collect quite a bit of homework though.

Should make dinner but I've lost my appetite after the encounter with ex when he picked up the boys. I can eat later if I get hungry.

Only have a half an hour to go before I have to start the commute anyway. Wish me luck.

Debi

Happy humpday all!

Randy wants to go to Evansville this afternoon so I'll have to get off my lazy butt if I plan on getting anything accomplished today.

a quick pass through...feeling under the weather today, so not up to mucyh. Need to pick up the boys from camp in an hour, otherwise I'm just wasting time on the computer. Haven't even scrapped, that's how lazy I feel today.

Debi, sorry you're not feeling well.

We didn't go anywhere today after all. Randy came home exhausted so he took a nap. Said we'd go tomorrow after he plays golf. I scrapped this afternoon but haven't got the layouts uploaded.

Have my phone hearing at 8:15 CST in the morning, prayers appreciated. I need to be clear and keep my calm no matter what the idiot lying manager says. Oh yeah, I'll need prayers.

THERESA best of luck for a calm, clear and collected phone call hearing. I hate when people falsely accuse others just to make themselves look better. Don't they see what an excellent employee you've been? I do...DIPLOMACY is the word for tomorrow. YOU CAN DO IT!

Well after an hour on the phone for the appeal, it's not finished. They took way too long repeating the same stuff (which sounded so lame every time they said it) that we have to continue the appeal. They'll set up a new phone time, send a letter and we have to go through it all over again.

THERESA I feel your pain...why do they drag this stuff on and on...the negative side of me is saying, they want to regroup and see if they can spin what you said to fit their preconceived idea of what they want the outcome to be and what you said didn't nicely fit their story so they need time to respin....Hoping they realize they have a person's future in their hands and do the right thing. It should not be this hard.

Have you had any contact with any of the folks from your previous job? BabyDoc? Any of them feeling regret for booting you out? I hate when people play nasty.

Cool and sprinkling today. Couldn't convince the boys to take an extra set of dry clothes to camp (as was suggested by the camp organizers) so they could be pretty wet puppies when they get home tonight. Guess warm showers and hot food will be in order.

Just popping in to say I sympathise with both your frustration Debi and Theresa and Congrats, Toni, on the DT job.

I'm just catching up on chat from work but will chat more tomorrow from home.

My kitchen is finally taking shape. Tiles are delivered, carcasses are in. Tops come on Monday and then doors go in Tuesday.

Good night, all from a very wet and cold Cape Town.

LOL Michelle, what kind of carcasses are you installing? I'm sure you meant to type cabinets and that darn auto correct changed it.

Mowed the yard already this morning. Hit a hole in the yard on the mower and bit a plug, seriously a big plug, out of my lip. Didn't think it would ever stop bleeding and boy is it sore now. Kept ice on it for a long time so hoping it won't swell too much.

MICHELLE love the differences in colloquisms from one area or another..."carcasses are in" just had me imagine a ton of dead animals strown throughout your kitchen space...although I'm sure you meant the cabinets casings. Glad the kitchen is starting to pull together...well at least you have all the pieces

Better weather today...at least it's dry, for the boys' last day of ultimate camp. A friend of theirs is coming home to spend the night so got some ribs in the crockpot. Need to go to the store and grab some stuff to go with it though

Been really slow moving this week-waking up very light headed for some reason and still tired. GUess it's time to try that B12 therapy, huh?

Mostly I want to just piddle around and do nothing. Wonder if that is where the adage, "Lazy days of summer," originated.

ROFL! Um, Theresa, no auto-correct, that is what we call the framework of cupboards here! I never thought about the animal connection... yeah, a couple of dead animals in my new kitchen wouldn't go down so well But, hey, I do live in deepest, darkest Africa You never know what we savages get up to here.

Theresa - Hope the lip feels better. That sounds very painful. I stuck my craft knife into my palm on Wednesday night. Luckily (?) it was a new blade, so it is a clean cut, but about 5mm deep and 1cm long. Serves me right for cutting wood veneer late at night when tired. First time in all my years scrapping that I've pegged myself with a craft knife...

Debi - those poor kids playing in the rain. Typical boys to rather be wet and cold than carry a bag with dry clothes. We had rain yesterday but thick mist this morning. At least it is a bit warmer. I read your 'rant' about the ex with disbelief. Ugh, co-parenting sounds almost impossible to do if one won't co-operate. It will always be give-and-take while kids are younger. Their activities/ schedules change from day to day. But I totally agree with you - the bus is not an option. If he wants them during the week he will have to fetch them. I think you are doing a lot by collecting them in the evening already, but that is just me.

My kids are finally on holiday too. Reports look fine, though Sean could do better if he just puts in a bit more effort. But he's just not interested. Got compliments on all 3's behaviour and co-operation in class though, so at least they aren't difficult kids. Love the idea of no rushing in the mornings for a few weeks.

Hope to do a little scrapping this afternoon. Hope you all do too.

Hi ladies!!! I thought I'd check in and read up this morning while I have a minute. I'm in Alabama, headed to the beach. I had a crazy week this week between trying to close out the state's fiscal year by spending down all of the contracts and my Grandpa being sick.

Hospice started with him yesterday. He is being discharged from the hospital today to go home for what time he has left. He is tired and ready to be done, but it is still hard on those of us who love him and it is honestly hard to deal with the family members who don't love him right now. (long story...)

Theresa - I hope your unemployment hearing ends up well. After this long, it should be a big help when you get it done since they'll have to do back pay. I've done a number of those hearings and the judges usually side with the employee unless there is a huge issue, which I know you don't have.

Toni - I hope you enjoy the new DT. You do have to post your stuff here so that we can see it though. I haven't done a DT in a long time. I liked it, but the deadlines made scrapping less fun for me, but I did enjoy the different projects that they asked us to make.

Well, I guess I should get moving. Have a nice weekend ladies!

Morning all. Jeremy and Kate are coming in tonight so have to straighten the house and get it dog friendly. They're going back home tomorrow night.

Michelle, that is funny about the casing being called carcass. It's just a dead animal around here. But then again, I have never had to install cabinets from scratch most of them are premade that are used here so they may very well be called that in the USA too. Bummer about the knife in the palm, that had to hurt. Make sure you keep it good and clean.

My lip is sore but not as sore as I thought. Bottom lip is puffy but not Angeline Jolene puffy. Have to be careful eating.

Tina, sorry about your Granddad. Hope you have a blast in Alabama just watch for the riptides. They are really dangerous, a lot of people have drowned in the last few weeks. The scrapbook store is in Foley (that is where Lamberts restaurant is too) and it's about 10 miles away. The outlet mall is there too but I didn't think it was that special. Prices were as high or higher than they are here with the exception of the Levi store's clearance aisle. You can drive over to Pensacola in about 20 minutes and go to the Air Force Base, it's FREE and we enjoyed it so figure Grif will love it.

Okay, best get started with my day. Also have to go pick up Trish/Jackson's dogs from the kennel and take them to their house before 2 today. (Jackson has been at the McCallie Boy's Academy in Chattanooga, TN for Sports Camp for the last two weeks and Greg and Trish went yesterday to pick him up and the kennel will be closed by the time they get back tonight.) I'd much rather go pick them up and take them home then keep them here over night.

One last thing, what do you all think of Kenye and Kim (Kardashian) West naming their new baby North? Her whole name (no middle name) is North West! It was anticipated that they would stick with the K letter since everyone in her family has it and his name starts with K as well. I loved a reporter's idea of Kash Kow.

good afternoon girls -

had a hard time sleeping last night, so slept in today...
my hair is being dyed while I type this (thanks to Meagan).
things are going ok here.

Tina - Hugs and prayers for your grandfather. I hope he's not suffering. The day before my mother went I whispered to her that she had seen/spoken with everyone and if she was ready, then it would be ok to let go. It's hard to believe that then the next day she was gone. I still miss her terribly.

Michelle - good for you in doing the kitchen the way you want. I hope we will be able to do ours someday; it's in really bad shape. You wouldn't even be able to find the type of oven we have to replace it; they don't exist anymore, so we would have to redo that whole area! And it really, really needs it.

Theresa - I truly understand the finance thing. We've been struggling for years now...especially in the summer because when we start school in August, I don't get paid 'til September, and the hours/money at J's does not cover the bills...this is when I start getting behind, and then it persists for a long time...sigh. I try to save for it, but it just never seems to happen that way, LOL. I hope the doctor is a good one for Austin's Tourette's. Thinking of you all, and keeping him in my prayers.

Well, I'm off. I need to get some stuff done.

Take care all.

Two Peas was down most of yesterday so I didn't think it would be back up til tomorrow.

Had a great visit with Jeremy and Kate. They've left to go back home and I've got the dog hair out of the living room at least. The rest can wait til tomorrow. Have to go to a funeral in the morning of a friend from church so I'm sure I'll need something constructive to do tomorrow afternoon.

Hi ladies,

We had a nice day at the beach yesterday. The weather was really beautiful, Mal got a little too much sun, but everyone else paced themselves.

My Grandpa passed away peacefully yesterday. I will really miss him, but he had lost the ability to really live, so I'm glad that he is at peace. We are having his service next Monday. My Aunt didn't want us to come back early from vacation, so she planned it after we are back. My Grandpa asked Ron to do his service a long time ago, so he'll be doing that.

Debi - Can you do the thread for me next week? We will be getting back in on the 30th and have a bunch to do for the funeral. I'm guessing that whatever dinner happens will be at my house since I have the only house big enough to hold us all.

Well, I'm going to get ready and head down to the beach. I'm trying to be present where I am today, don't want to be down during the few days that I get a break from my usual stress level.

Hope you all have a nice day!

Tina, sorry for your loss. Praying that the realization that he was more than ready to go will help you as you celebrate his life and then deal with all the stuff that goes with funerals.

I'm sorry to be gone for so long. Things have been crazy, but so much fun here with DD and family here from Calif. I finally had time to read and post on Sat. and the site was down all day.

Have only read enough to know about your sweet grandpa, Tina . I am so sorry for your loss. You know he's safe and fine, but it doesn't completely erase the ache in your heart. Hugs to you and your family, my friend.

I'll be back.

TINA surely i can do the JULY thread, no problem. So CS Send any JULY challenges to DEBI for inclusion in next month's thread . Sorry for your loss, may the service bring closure and comfort.

Nice to see you NYLENE. Glad you've been having fun with ANGIE and the clan. Missed you two while you were off playing.

Been quiet here at 2peas but it's frustrating when nearly every weekend the boards or gallery are down. Not sure what causes the 504 error but it's definitely a regular event here on the weekends.

Went to a professional Ultimate game yesterday with the kids-they got free tickets for the last game of the season from their camp they attended (a nice bonus). It was a great an action pack game. Our team was 4 points down but managed to pull out a win at the end. Great entertainment. The rest of the day I slept (tired and very sore-I haven't done anything physical but suspect it's the weather flopping around (80's one day, rain the next) that's doing me in-dang RA--hands are really swollen today too, making it hard to type.

It's 9 a.m., the kids are finally starting to stir. an overcast day today, probably perfect for doing yardwork but not sure my body can handle it...we'll see how the day goes.

Nothing plan for this week...yet How's yours looking

Finally....I am caught up~

Toni, congrats on the DT. Can you post a link for us. I tried to google, but don't think I found the right place. They will love you.

Theresa, I'm so sorry about the phone review. Why are they dragging this out. Also sorry the Dialysis job is not a sure thing. Enjoy the summer and hope it comes later.

Michelle, I'm jealous of your kitchen. I got a laugh out of "carcasses" too. I thought it must be auto-correct.

Debi, good luck with the X. I know it must be frustrating to deal with the same issues over and over. Hang in there. The boys have an accurate picture of what's going on!!

Here is my latest layout:

H.S. and Seminary Graduations.

Spent the last 2 weeks making paper dolls on the cricut, and it's been used daily. This week I hope to actually SCRAP with it.

Tossa, I hope going back to work is not too hard on you. Take it easy at home. Do you work full time?

More hugs to Tina!

Woke up with the sinus crud again so have been on the couch most of the day. Did get laundry almost done. It POURED raining today but not as much here as in neighboring cities, they have flooding galore. The mall in Madisonville (25 minutes away) had their parking lot flood so fast that people were trapped in their cars and had to be rescued. There is no river/lake by the mall either, crazy! Here's a link to a photo from FB of car.

Tina - (((hugs))) Lots of love to you at this difficult time. Yesterday was a year since my Mommy passed and it was a difficult one. I found the first few days are a blur of activity but it really catches you after about a week. Try and enjoy the vacation and celebrate your lovely memories of him.

My kitchen is taking longer than anticipated - doesn't all building, though? I had to laugh at myself - I rarely cook as Heinrich loves it but now that I can't, all I want to do is cook, bake, etc. It is still raining and I thought to make pancakes yesterday - ha, no hob! Couldn't see myself making them on a fire.

Debi/ Theresa - I think 2peas' just can't handle the volume over weekends. I was quite surprised how well it held up over NSD - thought it would crash then.

Nylene - good to see you again. Glad you are having fun with the family. Sounds as if you are both healthy again too. Wonderful!

My internet at home is giving hassles again, so I'm on here at work. Have a great day, all!!!
