I have become a project life crazy woman. I've purchased shares of several core kits, get the SC PL kit and sometimes add-on and lately have become disenchanted with all of it.

I'm ready to put the scrap back in scrapbooking. The honest truth is that I could do a lifetime's worth of scrapbooking without spending another cent! However, I do like to get fun new products. So I think I'm going to do two things right away.

1. I'm cancelling my SC PL kit. No embellishments this month really make me think it's not for me.

2. I'm not spending a cent on SB supplies for at least 30 days. I am actually hoping to go six months, but in that time I'll probably need adhesive. I won't even need adhesive for 30 days.

This is a big challenge to me! Anyone else do a no-spend month? Maybe I should stay away from the boards!!!

I'm apart of a few kit clubs, I don't want to cancel them all so I don't think I could ever do a no spend month lol

I've done 30 LO challenges without buying a thing and it was really good for me! We all have too much stuff. I should do another one soon!

I'm with 'ya! I'm on a no spend YEAR. Just about moved into my new scrap room and am completely maxed out of space. Was reorganizing my stash and found so much I can use, so next time I want to shop, I'll look through my stash.
A month should be easy

I have gone 6 months with no shopping. It was totally out of necessity. My DH lost his job and I had NO scrapping budget. I didn't even look at youtube, eBay, weekly ads, etc. Boy was it fun when I finally could shop!! lol!

I'm ready to join you on a spending ban. I made it one week without buying. Then I hit a bunch of sales. Now I need to cool off for a good long while.

What gets me everytime is watching the videos here at twopeas.
It always seems the videos I watch don't have the supplies I have.
So I have to go get more to do the project. It is a vicious circle. LOL

I just started getting into project life. My daughter likes the concept too. So when I find sales on PL I pick up 2 sets. I will be giving them to my daughter at Christmas. I'm getting some Christmas shopping done anyways.

Thankfully I haven't gotten into Studio Calico. I have enough stuff already.

I could seriously live two lives on my stash!

I love to shop.....and I love new things.
My biggest issue is my location. Living in New Zealand, there are not a heap of scrap shops, so I tend to buy collections. Often I only use half the pack of papers, and then are left with the other half in my's not wonder my collection keeps growing.

If I buy from the US, I usually buy from a site that has good shipping rates, and they do not sell individual pieces of paper. I would love to shop at 2peas, but the shipping here is so much it's a killer. I joined a kit club about six months ago, which is good, as I get a selection of new stuff each month.....but that's not so good if the kit is not to my taste......

Have just done a huge speedy month, so I am heading into super crafty months, with lots of new things heading my way.....I will not be buying anything apart from the kit I get sent monthly until October I hope. .....well that is the aim....

I have done a spending freeze until I completed a certain amount of LOs. I'm a slow scrapper and the freeze lasted for a bit of time. I can do it with you if you need support.

ETA: I'm going to have to do it anyway.

I'm with you! I might have to buy adhesive. Otherwise, I don't need a thing! I have tons of cardstock and patterned papers. I really want to use up my patterned paper, and then not buy any others unless I have a specific plan for them. I don't buy a ton of embellishments. I like to make my own with my dies, punches, embossing folders, stamps and inks. I do like letter stickers and washi tape though!

I just placed a large order here on Saturday and now I am done until at least the end of July when I go to CKC with my cousin. I have a ton of stuff, too, but that 20% off embellies sale here got me! I know 20% isn't a lot but I'm thinking I might have saved what I would have spent in shipping so that's ok. Here's to not spending for a while!

I'm glad to see others are also trying to avoid it. Thanks for the tip about the frozen peas thread! I'll check it out.

I always plan to do it but I usually buy an embellishment here and there because I would rather be happy with my layout than feel that it is mediocre and save a few bucks. I'm a bit of a perfectionist in that area though

I have done this on and off for months on end.
I don't have a LSS here, but I do have an overpriced Michael's here.
I don't buy on-line, so its not that hard for me.

What gets me is when we go away for our weekend trips a few times a year to Minneapolis. Then I have Archivers, Joanns, 2 LSS on the way there as well as a Hobby Lobby.
So I go crazy...and I mean crazy. I buy things I don't even think I like, just because they have it, lol.

My problem is to actually use my stuff.
I need some challenges on getting some pages done. I do so many types of paper crafts, that my actual scrapbook pages are put on the side lines.

Good luck with your spending freeze

I don't do a PL album, but I mix the products in with my regular scrapbook pages.

Yes, I can scrap for a year and not need to buy anything new. But then I see it, and it's so pretty, I have to buy it.

I've joined the "50 layouts"-challenge on Facebook (make 50 layouts before shopping again) and I'm on my second turn and it's been super fun! It is inspiring to use up the stash and I save lots of time for actual scrapbooking when I'm not stuck with my nose in web shops

I've often teased that I could scrap the rest of my life and not need to buy anything (including adhesive!) but I have just accepted the fact that I have two hobbies (1) scrapbooking/cardmarking and (2) collecting papercrafting supplies. It's no different than collecting tea cups and saucers or coins (that's my story and I'm sticking to it).

For the last few years, my mom, my aunt and I have challenged ourselves not to buy anything until we'd made 100 cards/ LO's. That really helped me break the habit of shopping to collect things, as well as use some of my stash. The first we time we did it, it was really difficult to not buy. Got easier each time after that. However, this year I must confess, with all the lovely stuff that came out of CHA, I wasn't able to stick to the no buy rule but I still did get my 100 cards/ LO's made.

Now what?

I really NEED to do this....I just don't want to. LOL

I too have sooo sooo much....I always love the new stuff.

But I'm really dissappointed in how little I've been scrapping lately. I gotta get my butt in gear and start using all of my awesome supplies.

My hubby would LOVE for me to go on a spending freeze! Absolutely LOVE it.

I'm another one that could live on my stash the rest of my life! I love to get new things. I like the idea of doing so many layouts before I hit the stores again or even not spending anything for a month. I might have to do this for August since we're going on our honeymoon in September. I'd do if for July but I found a LSS in Colorado Springs (Simple Pleasures) that is amazing and we don't having any to speak of any longer in the Denver metro area. Hubby and I are doing a day trip out there on the 5th and I know I can't go there and window shop!

I was frozen from fall until spring and only bought adhesive. I got a lot of scrapping done during that time. I started buying again in April and I've noticed that when it's time to look for paper to go with my pictures I feel a little overwhelmed. The piles of paper are just too big at this point. I feel like it takes a bit of fun out of it. Don't get me wrong...I love scrappy shopping. But I think another short spending freeze combined with a some scheduled scrapping days will help. I need to use this stuff! I'm hoping to get some scrapping done this evening and on Friday, too. I would love to get all my 2011 pictures scrapped this summer using what I have. I think I just set a great goal for myself.

I'm so impressed with everyone's good character! I don't think I could go a month without purchasing at least a little something, but I'm trying hard to cut my scrap budget to a minimum. Struggling with it because I'm always so tempted by new collections, but I'm seriously running out of storage space. I'm in the process of reorganizing and - wow! -- I don't think that I will ever need to buy supplies again! lol!

I'm also trying to scrap more, and make a dent in my stash. Anyone who wants can play along with me in Scrap Stash Kit Club. You make a monthly kit from your stash on a certain color or style theme.

I am on a no buying spree too. I started May 28 and am doing fine so far. I do get 2 kits, the Basic Grey page kit and the Studio Calico Project Life kit that I am canceling after my six months are up. I have actually gotten more done, including through mid may on PL, which is caught up for me. I only print pictures every 2 months or so. In May I started on a year in review of project life on a monthly basis for 2012. I have about 5 months done on it! Not buying is improving my scrappy time!

I have so much stuff and have not been scrapping with it....just buying!
I need to stop the buying until I've used up a lot of it...I could easily go for 30 days without buying a thing!

I think that sometimes when I don't want to do something I make it harder to accomplish than it really is. That being said, I have done several no spending challenges. And everytime I have actually been able to do it. My spending freezes have been neccessary. And honestly when I
felt like I just had to have something that I saw on here or wherever I would create a wishlist.

But I truly was more creative when I wasn't spending or shopping.

I never purposefully go on a spending freeze. I have tried it. But, I fail miserably at it. Not only can I not make it the specified period of time, I spend far more making up for the 'deprivation' than had I just went about life normally.

That's not to say that I spend willy nilly on scrap supplies all the time. I can go months on end and not buy anything. Then, I'll have a month or 2 or 3, where I will buy a little or a bunch.

The past month & 1/2 has been a spend cycle. Before that, I had joined a PL kit club. And, before that, I had gone over a year without buying any scrappy supplies.

Not even pictures.

Not a 100% no spend month however I haven't been buying as many supplies as I once did. On a few occasions ill buy something on clearance. I've gone to Michael's and Joann's plenty of times with every intent to buy something and walk out empty handed. I'm just not inspired when I walk in there anymore!

I love a good challenge, and not spending any money on scrapbooking is a good one. However, whenever I think I'm spending too much, I just remember that new things are always coming out, and that I will always find something new that I love, so I don't need a whole collection of something, or 2 sheets of any paper, I just need to wait....sometimes I let stuff sit in my cart at TwoPeas and two weeks later wonder what I was thinking...I never buy online impulsively, and I am frozen from anything holiday related (going on 3 years-except for Valentine's day) feels good to be able to say I haven't bought anything for X amount of time....

Well I just requested membership to the Facebook group. The problem is the new CTMH catalog it is coming out soon meaning I can order in July and will want to order. I guess I could do a freeze until then and try to put off an order as long as possible. I wonder if I could hold out until August. I have a huge stash and just stocked up on adhesive. I really need to do this. Realistically I should do at least 100 layouts but that would take way too long as I don't scrap nearly as much as I should.
