you know...summery jewelry that you can wear into the pool without ruining it or without freaking out if it gets lost? jewelry that looks best with a tan?

I love gold in the summer. I usually wear silver. small gold hoops and a chain mean summer to me.

I don't exactly have pool jewelry, but I never wear real gold or silver in a pool or at the beach because I know I can't replace it if I lose it.

Not sure I would consider it jewelry, but I have a couple of Baby Gs that I like to wear at the pool and I change them out based on what color looks best with my bikini.

Yes, I have pool jewelry.

A pair of good size CZ studs I always wear in the pool.

Then I usually buy an anklet and toe ring to go with each swimsuit. I don't wear anklets/toe rings with clothes - only swim suits.
I'm also big on having a beach towel and beach tote and a big hat to match each swimsuit. Oh and a cute dress for a coverup.

I just don't feel good about it unless it's a whole ensemble/set.

we have a pool, but I do not have pool jewelry.

If I'm in my bathing suit, the only other people present would be my kids, and they don't care what I look like. If I'm wearing a necklace I would take it off beforehand.

it's not so much to worry about what you look like, but to switch to something other than what you might wear every day or that might be ruined or lost in the pool.

If you want pool jewelry, I'd probably get something that is super cheap and would expect to last no more than a season.or at least be mindful that whatever you buy won't get as much mileage from being used in the pool.

I've never heard of people wearing jewelry in the pool. I was taught to remove all jewelry for swimming. Wouldn't jewerly pose a danger if it got caught on something and potentially hold you under the water? I also only own two swimsuits, both are racer back one pieces, neither are fashionable because swimsuits to me are not about fashion but about function. So no jewelry, hair pulled back in a firm ponytail, and non-fashionable suit.

I've also never thought of getting jewelry to go with a tan. I lather up with 30 or 60 spf and strive to remain as pale as possible, since tanning means burning.

Guess I fail as a woman of the pool.

Hmm, never thought about losing my diamond rings or earrings (I just dip in and out of pools or the ocean). For some reason, they look cleaner after being in the pool. I do accessorize with each bathing suit, from ankle bracelet to earrings. I'm anal about it, I know.....

The folks at the place where we bought my rings were very insistent that chlorine can react with most metals and eventually cause damage. They said that especially the mounting points of diamond jewelry can be vulnerable to this - that the mild pitting can cause the diamonds to come loose. Ever since then I was kind of fussy about not wearing my engagement and wedding rings in the pool.

I just wear my regular stuff. White gold, diamonds. I've never really thought about it getting lost or ruined by virtue of being in a pool.

The only jewelry I usually wear to the pool is my wedding ring. Though, this year I've been taking it off after reading something that said chlorine can damage the metal.

Even though I sell jewelry for a living, I rarely wear it.

So, no jewelry for me around the pool or ocean. Maybe I'd wear some braided leather or cotton bracelets and/or ankle bracelets.

That's me. Except that my regular bathing suits are two-piece tankinis. I do wear a one-piece in the ocean. I'm very fashionable.

I have a pool, swim a lot and probably have more swimsuits in my wardrobe than any other clothes but I don't wear jewelry in the pool. I don't like exposing my jewelry to sunscreen or chlorine. And it's hot here. Really, really hot and I swell. So I take my rings off before going to the pool and I just don't put any other jewelry on. If for some reason, I already have earrings or something else on, I take it off before going out to the pool. It's usually just DH and I so it really doesn't matter.

So, you either only wear hair adornments or store all of your rings, bracelets, necklaces in your hair?

I may have misinterpreted your post - I read it three times and it still doesn't really make sense.

Be careful of your silver jewelry and chlorine. I went in a friends hot tub and forgot to take of a sterling bracelet. It was black before I noticed, and it was a pain to get the black off.

Uh, no. I have jewelry that I wear. I wear it if I'm going to go to the beach and swim. I also wear it when I clean, workout, go to amusement parks etc.
I swim laps everyday.
I go to watermarks
I bodysurf at the beach.
All with my gold and diamond jewelry.
I've been swimming laps with jewelry for over 30 years and never lost even an earring
I don't change anything.
Why would I?

That's not from the chlorine.
You can get it off by placing your silver in a pan that's lined with tin foil, with some baking soda and warm or hot water.

The only thing different that I wear in the summer is a toe ring ... usually it's pink CZ so that it sparkles a bit

I don't really go in the water, other than a hot tub, so no worries about losing earrings

holdup

at a bonafide 'pool party'
- all glam and shit - i do wear a cute coverup or sundress over a suit

and accessorize

and i might even wade into the pool - butt deep - with a drink

in that instance i probably have jewelry on

if i am at the pool to actually swim and interact in a 'swimming fashion'

then i don't

so i guess it depends on the situation

I do have summer jewelry - for example, I wear a gold ankle bracelet in the summer but not at any other time. I also wear a thin gold necklace all summer long. I think it looks nice to have a little something on, I think. Gold seems fine in the water - I've never had a problem. But no stones.

Yes! I have delicate gold jewelry I wear - I also have chunkier necklaces - was just in Vegas for a night and I wore a chunky yellow necklace with my pink suit - hey it's Vegas!

I almost always wear jewelry --

Edited: I interpreted this question to be about situation where you are just hanging out near the water -- if I'm actually swimming in the ocean (we just started surfing) or doing laps in pool - ill keep the tiara and other jewels at home.

I don't know that I have specific jewelry for the pool, but I do usually wear jewelry to/in the pool. When I'm at a pool, it's generally more social - with the kids, family, friends or a party. I'm not there to swim laps. So yeah, I like to look good... hence jewelry.

Heck, I'll open a whole 'nother can of worms. I wear makeup, too.

never. I know a woman who mom and dad make quite a comfortable retirement living by finding jewelry at the bottom of public pools and at the beach.

If I'm in/at the pool I don't wear any jewelry.

I don't want to mess it up, lose it, or get tan lines.

We have often asserted and we affirm it yet again that no fact in history is better attested than the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It must not be denied by any who are willing to pay the slightest respect to the testimony of their fellow men. That Jesus, who died upon the cross, and was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, did literally rise again from the dead. (excerpted from Dance Your Shoes Off, Second Baptist Church)

I believe that I run a greater risk of losing my wedding ring set by taking it on and off every time I go to the pool/beach than I do actually losing it at the pool/beach so I just leave it on. The small diamond stud earrings in my 2nd holes haven't left my ears, except to be cleaned, since DH gave them to me so they stay as well. That's my only 'pool/beach' jewelry. Everything else comes off!
