....When you know you have something in your stash, but because you have so much stuff (and of course is a huge mess) -- YOU CAN'T FIND IT and am tempted to go buy more knowing that as soon as I do, it will avail itself to me!

Please tell me I. AM. NOT. ALONE!! Ha!

That used to happen to me all the time.
I couldn't take not bring able to find my stuff so I brainstormed, drew sketches and made lists of what would work for me.
Then I went to ikea, bought what I needed and spent a lot if time organizing and purging.
Now everything has a spot and is put away where it belongs.
Its so organized my kids, dgd and DH can all easily find things too

I just bought another stapler and on multiple occasions have almost run out to buy another paper trimmer. As for the paper/ embellishment stuff, unless it's right in front of me I don't even know that I have it to look for it. lol.

You're in good company here! What you describe is exactly how I ended up with duplicates of a few of my embellishments. When this happens, I'm usually thinking something like, "Okay, I know I put it in a really specific place so that I wouldn't lose it, and I'll have it on hand when I'm ready to use it..."

Thank goodness it wasn't anything too expensive.

Hee, you are SO not alone!

It's a constant surprise party in my studio...I'm surprised when *this* happens: "I just had that! Where did it go?" and I'm just as surprised when *that* happens: "Aha! Found it!"

Doesn't happen in my scrap space/stuff AT ALL but it does happen in the rest of the house. Since I have to share that with DH, I'll put something down and... yeah, you know where this is going. The "honey, have you seen ____? I put it in the cabinet!" "Oh, right... I put that in the shed, I think?"

Yeah, we re-buy a LOT just so I don't have to deal with his whims of stashing things wherever he happens to be when he finishes using them!

I'm pretty organized so I can find everything, but of course I get what you're saying! I purposely buy duplicates and still find myself in the same boat of trying to use up my extra stuff!

Totally not alone, Only I've done that with stamps...I loved a certain stamp and picked it up, forgot I had it and then got another one...I think that happened a couple of times cause when I did the last stash clean out I found 4 of the same stamp...oops!

my stash is very organized, but even so I tore my scrap space apart looking for a bag of tiny clothespins I knew I had somewhere. After an hour of this I suddenly remembered I put them with the holiday stuff. UGH! And after all this I didn't even end up using them on the LO.

Happens to me often, especially lately. But I am in the middle of a lot of house renos one of which includes re-doing my living room. I have an area where I am going to put shelves that I am painting just to organize my craft supplies and tools. I hope that helps me to stay organized and find what I need. Then I have to do it all again in a few months when our 3rd bedroom is cleared out and I reno that room which will be my official craft/guest room. I can't wait! For now I have to deal with things being everywhere

You are not alone!

Ahh I've done this! I bought the Studio Calico Fabric Paper Clips from Two Peas awhile back and then LOST them. I finally was so annoyed that I just bought more from here and then literally a few weeks ago I found them all so now I have double! Got to say though for something like that, I'm happy I have more especially since the one is no longer in the store anymore. I hate when things are gone

::nodding my head::

This is how I know it's time to clean out the craft room. Of course, I still manage to put it off for as long as possible.

Similarly, do you ever discover you've bought two of the exact same item on two separate occasions, but you don't remember even buying it the first time?
