How many did you wind up having? I only wanted one or two, but that is not what God planned.

3 or 4

I have one. Thank goodness.

Between my bad eggs and DH getting colon cancer no way were we having another. Even though we went to a couple of fertility appointments, I was so nervous about possibly getting pregnant again because I was worried sick about DH's cancer coming back.

Here we are 6 years later and he's healthy - thank God - and we still have one. I get sad sometimes when she has nobody to play with, but it is what it is.

When DH & I were dating, I always said I would have liked 3. He wanted 2. I miscarried one baby and have 2 DD's. I would like to have another one, but DH says no. Perhaps one day I can talk him into it, but I'm 34 and he's 36, so if it isn't soon, I think we'll just stick with the 2 that we have.

Originally 4. DH and I both come from families of 5. We had trouble conceiving both kids though and are thankful for one of each (3 years apart). I now am also thankful I only had 2. It's sometimes more than I can handle since DH is so far away during the day.

My kids have plenty of cousins though.

Grew up not wanting any, changed my mind and had ds, tried for years to have another and finally gave up after two late-term miscarriages.

Now, I'm the mom the kids in the neighborhood turn to, so on any given day, I have between 1 and 8!

I am an only child and planned to have one child.

I knew the second that I actually had her that I wanted more. I have five. I wouldn't mind more, if I weren't 41 already, honestly.

I always dreamed of a large family - at least 6, perhaps more.

I had secondary infertility - ended up with 3 kids and 2 m/c - would love more but at almost 43, it's not looking likely

I wanted three and I have two. Mine are young adults now and occasionally I still have a little pang of feeling like our family isn't complete. I consider myself very lucky to have the two I have though, because I was a high risk pregnancy both times. Now I am just looking forward to DILs and grandkids eventually.

I originally wanted none because I felt like I wouldn't be a good mom because I had a crap mom myself.

Ended up having my son, fell completely in love, and realized good mothering isn't genetic Then talked myself into believing that I was only a good mom because he was a boy. Had my second, a little girl, and realized again that gender of the child doesn't matter for good mothering.

Starting the TTC journey again next month Now I want just one more, but I can see myself having another, waiting until that one is in kindergarten and having a fourth. I think 4 is my limit.

Not sure. I don't remember dreaming about it. We had a lot of fertility problems and got a late start. We have 2 and have to be done because of issues with the pregnancies. I had decided right before problems with my 2nd pregnancy I wanted 3. I still feel like we will have a third child. Probably an oops in 5 years. Or we'll adopt, though I hope we can adopt siblings if so, which would make it 4.

Planned, Zero. I had a horrid childhood and never planned on marrying or having kids.

Wind up, two. Fell in love, etc. have done my best to give them the childhood I wanted.

When I was younger I wanted 3. A boy then twin girls. We'd live in a house with a jack n Jill bathroom and when they got older the girls would share a car and their big brother would always watch out for them. I read ALOT of sweet valley high

I got my boy first, then due to secondary infertility I didn't get my 2nd boy until 9 years later. Most likely that will be it. No twin girls for me.

Four. Sometimes I thought 5 but four seemed more realistic. I have three. It turned out I have awful pregnancies -I had hyperemesis with all three and threw up 10 times a day. I *had* to have at least three and then I knew I couldn't do it anymore. My family is perfect, though.

I was an only child and felt like I missed out not having any siblings, so I wanted 6. I had 3 and knew I had my hands full. It's not as easy as the Brady Bunch made it look. LOL

Wanted 6 or more. Ended up with one. Life circumstances kept me from having more, and certainly glad I didn't have any with XH. Also, I realize now that with chronic depression and anxiety disorders, one was all I can handle. God definitely knew better.

DS loves being an only child. He thinks he's from a large family because he has so many cousins and aunts and uncles, and he is very close to all of them. He grew up with the best of both worlds, large close family, small quiet home life.

Infertility, pre-eclampsia, HELLP, and prematurity led us to only having two.

Then we had oopsie-Jay, our little freebie.

So we thought we were only going to have two, but accidentally ended up with three.

We have often asserted and we affirm it yet again that no fact in history is better attested than the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It must not be denied by any who are willing to pay the slightest respect to the testimony of their fellow men. That Jesus, who died upon the cross, and was buried in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, did literally rise again from the dead. (excerpted from Dance Your Shoes Off, Second Baptist Church)

I wanted 3 and ended up with 4. DH begged and pleaded for our 4th and every single day since I had her I am so so so so grateful that he wanted one more. For awhile I even thought I might want a 5th but now I'm happy that we're done with 4. I may never ever get over my newborn envy though. I could have a million babies, I just don't want that many KIDS.

I always thought I'd have none, or maybe one.

After having one, I'd really like a second. However, DS is now 5 and I'm 40, so it seems unlikely there will be a #2. We are, however, in the early stages of considering adoption.

I wanted 12 based on some book I read in Jr high about a family of 12 kids. Had 4 with a couple of miscarriages. Would still love to have more but at 45 that is just not happening. I will be very happy to have grandchildren someday though.

I always wanted an even number (I grew up the oldest of 3).

We had two girls and a boy and I was sure we were done. Then DH started talking about the old sniperoo and I was turning 35 (which DH kept rubbing in) and I started thinking I didn't want to be 99 years old wishing I had more kids. #4 is due in August... We are definitely done at 4!

Married in my 30's never wanted any. After a couple of years I did want one. Dh didn't really want any. He was in his 40's. We ended up with one and now says it was the best thing he ever did. But we are glad we only had one especially now with the price of college. Can't imagine putting more than one through college, even though her scholarships pay for more than half. One was the magic number for our family.

3 or more. I grew up in a house of 4 and loved all the interactions.

I soon realized 2.75 was my limit (step child who went away sometimes). I would have like more but my patience was limited.
