Ok Peas, I need your opinions on the new fancy and lovely PL Binders. I put one back at A's because although it still had the plastic on it, you could see dents and scratches. I'm loving some of the M's exclusives but I hesitate to buy these heavy duty cardboard binders with a slick surface because I'm afraid they're not durable like a pleather or fabric/canvas covered binders. What is your opinion?

They look cheap to me. I went to M's today and picked up the Cinnamon kit and looked at the albums. The one there was opened as well and there were scratches where it was still in the plastic. I was talking to another lady that was looking at them and she put it back as well

I have been doing Project Life since 2010, which has had the plastic cover binders since 2012 and I love them. I like the look a lot better than the faux leather, cloth or chipboard binders. Personally, I haven't had issues with damage, I have taken the binder off the shelf and slid it back pretty much every week for a year and more for the 2012 Clementine binder and it's good.

After buying other 3 ring binders, I don't get why the PL binder (with no page protectors inside) is the same price as the other binders I've purchased (and that came with page protectors). The rings on my Seafoam edition binder didn't clasp perfectly, every so often a page protector will snag when turned but it's no big deal to me. I purchased the Cinnamon binder from HobbyLobby and have had no issues at all with that one.

The chevron is so cute but the two at my Ms were dented along the spines. I'm waiting for the fancy binders.

I don't like them. One that I got from HSN had the ring broken before I even opened it. The other one that I got I'm selling at a yard sale this weekend.

I don't like the metal corner things because I think they will scratch my furniture, I have a few other albums with the metal corner things & they are sharp!

I bought the Blush kit from HSN and the album came with dents in it. So I am using my PL pages in a different brand album.

the ones that i've seen in stores are dented and damaged. my first year of pl i used the ac fabric covered album. it was not sturdy enough to held 1/2 a year.

now i only use leather wrmk.

I bought the HSN kit and did NOT like the binder. I used it (it was for my 1980's pictures), but even in the week that it took to assemble the album, it was looking scuffed and drab.

I use WRMK (faux) leather and I like them much more!

Another vote for leather WRMK. Love it.

I also got a HSN kit - when I opened my binder flat, the cardboard that lines the inside of the binder detached and pulled away from the outer shell (if that makes sense to anyone, not sure how else to describe it). I was disappointed in the quality.

Thanks again for all the opinions. I think I'll try the WRMK binders. I found some at a local Ms, for some reason that store hasn't put them on clearance and they looked really sturdy and well made. I also found them at Js online and couldn't believe the amazing color collection!

My friend has one (I think it's Cinnamon) and she said it hasn't worn well. She mostly does PL at crops, so she hauls it back and forth a lot, and now she says it's her "travel album" and when she's done she'll move everything into another album, probably an American Crafts or WRMK album. Hope that helps!

I had my eye on the cute Honey chevron album. I picked it up and looked at it in the store today, and I was not impressed. I'll stick to my WRMK albums.

I bought the cute chevron one at Michael's on Saturday and It looks like it's not going to last an entire year of PL. Very disappointed.

I am so thankful for this thread! Went to M's today and saw the cute PL binders and was oh so tempted and then remembered this thread. So I ended up getting some WRMK ones on sale. So happy! I also got the MME enamel dots on sale too. Ima happy camper =)
