If I am just now starting PL, should I start from what week it is or should this be my first week!? TIA.

It is really up to you. PL is something that you make your own and do your own way.
I started mine at the start of the year so my weeks run sunday - saturday and are numbered to match the week of the year it is.
Some people don't use week numbers at all and I think I am going to change to this method because I do not do mine every single week, a lot of times I just do it when there is an event I want to remember but more often than not when I get time (I am a loooooooooong way behind at the moment)

My suggestion is that if you want to have a week by week album, start now and see how you like it. If you like it, go back and fill in the beginning of the album with your pictures from the beginning of the year. If you can't fill in with weekly layouts, then do monthly or event style. If you already have traditional layouts done for the beginning of the year, then put those in. By December 31, you will have a complete year in an album (even though it may be different styles).

I started easy this year: a double spread for each month; it's easier to give a summary of the month's highlights than be documenting week-by-week.

Make it easy on yourself... rather than focusing on a weekly layout, try creating a monthly! I've been doing one project life layout to sum up each month since January and love this idea better than creating weekly due to time etc.

I agree, its up to you!

As for what I do... I started the year with two-page spreads per week. Some weeks have more inserts with events. I have done this for about up to week 20ish. Then as the summer hits and its too busy with lots of events, I am transitioning back to "event" scrapping, and will make some minimal notes about weekly things.

I record my weeks from Mon-Sun bcz I like to keep the entire weekend together, it works for me.

I do PL, but I don't specify or stick to the week numbers. But you should do what you like best!

I knew I couldn't do weekly so I went with monthly. I don't limit my self to 1 page. I use as many or few pages as I need each month.my plan is to put regular LOs in between each month so I make sure that I use the front and back of each page protector.
