Here's the details for the August 2013 tag swap!
Pretty soon we'll start seeing the back to school business creeping up in stores and that dreaded time of year starts back again(that is if your a teacher or kid!)so I thought this month would be a fun Back to School theme.
For your tag here's the requirements:
You must use school supplies to create your tag. Examples- crayons, elmers glue, Crayola markers, post it notes, paperclips, notebook paper, kids watercolor paints, basically anything you'd find in the school supply aisle.
Must have image stamping on it.

That's it! Get creative, have fun with it! Employ whatever and as many techniques as you'd like

Deadline to get your tags out is by 08.07

Ok Happy Stampers! Here's the partner list, just PM them for their address!
HowdyHeidi & ChristinMay
Looser & CarribeanGirl
Beady & Yellowcherrios
eagertoreitre & AngieM76
SWLady & tyuill1976
lovepug2 & I'm gonna draw someone at random to send my tag too!

I fear this may be the last month for new swappers for most of us! Not too shabby for going on 8 months!

Ok, lets chat more here about our tags and don't forget to load them to the gallery and link to the blog when your mate gets them! Have fun

My 'school daze' is a distant memory, but this does sound like a fun theme.

I really like the materials list you're using for this tag, Pug. That certainly presents no challenge for me (not bragging).

What will be a challenge (love that aspect of our tag swaps) is whether to keep my subject matter 'school-oriented' or go 'artsy' with the school supplies...

I'm in for the month!

Marshia, you most certainly can sign up! Swap hoster here hasn't finished her tags either

Can't wait to see what everyone does, this will be a fun creative challenge I'm sure. In fact, I'm considering a spinoff challenge about it. If time permits.

Daniel, No I'm going to add it now! Thanks for the reminder. Told ya I was loosing my marbles!

So can I just clarify...

It has to be a School theme AND use school supply things in its construction?

School 'theme'? Mwah ha ha (my 'evil' laugh). There's lots of ways to interpret 'schools'...

I see Pug has started a 'study' for markers, crayons & such--just in time for the kind of things we can use for our tags!

Figure this tip is worth sharing. Be careful using 'construction' paper for your tags. The 'classic' CP does not age well & will fade in a short time when exposed to light. Read the package before you spend money on it.

You're most welcome, 'CG'. Personally? I like construction paper. It may well be that there are now versions that don't age as badly. So don't be afraid to see what's available.

I hearya on the 'ideas' thing. Sometimes we have tons & other times it's a struggle. Even with a 'Back To School' theme, there's wiggle room. 'BTS' for grade school is very different from High School or College--for instance.

Thanks for the heads up on the CP, Daneil. I had no idea either! The poster board idea is something to think about. It just came to me typing this maybe that board (it kinda reminds me of pop dots) you had to use when you had to do a presentation at school. Or maybe even a cork-board? Anyone know if that would be safe?

Good tip on the construction paper Daniel. I remember seeing some in the art department at Hobby Lobby not too long ago that was considered "artist grade" but it kinda just looked like thin cardstock to me!

I have no idea what I will use or do but I know there are lots of possibilities with the theme and supply choices. It might cause an "overthinking" issue for me. Actually it most definitely will. Too many choices often do this.

There's still one more day to sign up! I will post the partner list on Tuesday.

I just love it when us tag swappers chat. For me, it really adds so much to the fun of doing the swap! For instance...

Tonya. Are you talking about 'foamboard'? That's a material where foam is sandwiched between sheets of thin cardstock. That would be very interesting to work with!

'CG'. Good for you! Like you, I think I have the start of an idea that's very BTS--old & new...

Awesome idea for those who have kids, Kathy! I'll have to rely on my 'inner child'.

Pug. Couple suggestions? How 'bout keeping this the official swap thread? You can update your OP to include the match-ups. And when you do the blog? Keep the 'send' date, but set up the blog dates to keep the 'challenge box' open to 7/31. Your call, pal.

Speaking of BTS? Do you remember your first day of school? Dare to share?

Deniel, yes that's whats its called foam board! I have looked all over to see if cork board is safe for scrapbooking and can not find anything, does anyone know if it is?
I so wish I could remember my first day of school! Since being diagnosed with epilepsy my memory is not so good about a lot of things. It kinda sucks. But on a brighter note its fun reading yours

I don't know about cork board, but there are a lot of cork products in the market right now for embellishments. They might fit right in for this theme.

I do remember my first day of kindergarten. I was excited but pretty terrified. I was horribly shy as a child. I'm sure the only reason I got on the bus is because my sibling was on the same bus. My mom always took first day of school photos, so I can look up all of them of I went through her piles of photos

Lol, these are not stories I want to hear with my quite shy child due to start school soon!

I don't remember when I started at all. Although I have no diagnosed memory-related conditions, I've realised lately that I really don't remember much about my childhood! My mum was quite put out when I told her that last week!

Ok, stampers! The list is up. This will be our ongoing thread to chat and link too.

Daniel, please tell me your not talking about our first day of kindergarten I don't remember other than like Heidi, I was extremely shy. I'm sure I probably cried!

I remember first day of high school and first day of college. I remember being pretty nervous.

I watched a YT video last night that will be perfect for the requirement.
I've got too many ideas spinning in my head. This will be a fun one for sure! Can't wait to see what everyone is gonna come up with.

LOL, Pug. Yeah I meant 8 not 7.

My 'first day'? It was 1st grade. I didn't attend kindergarten since there were only paid ones when I was young. 'Sok. Even tho' there was no Sesame Street in the early '50s, I watched 'Ding Dong School' with Miss Francis. (that explains soooo much about my education)

Anyhoo... My first day was in '56 & after Labor Day. I thot my teacher (Miss Helt) was very old. She wore orthopedic shoes & black dresses. She was a little scarey, but actually kind & patient. I went to Ferris Heights from grade 1-4 & the building had a belfry with a real bell. The janitor--Mr. Kishbaugh--rang the bell.

I don't remember anything about the first day of kindergarten for me. But I do remember that this one girl always cried everyday! I was shy, but I remember really liking going to school---it was fun! and I always wondered why the girl that cried all the time "didn't like" it----well at least that was what I thought she thought! I'm not sure how long into school the cried.

I do remember standing up with another classmate in front of the class and we had to move around magnetic letters on the lockers that were in the classroom for what the teacher asked. And I remember standing up there and then not feeling to good, and since I was shy, I didn't tell anyone I didn't feel to good, but everyone soon found out! I actually do not remember feeling sick, I just remember the memory of after I showed everyone I was sick! I had to go home of course and I was sad....

Not sure this is the same for everyone, but did your school (elementary) ever write you name on the black board if you were bad---or good? In kindergarten she had a spot that she wrote your name if you were really good and I remember getting mine up there one time and I was SO happy! In the other grades, though, the names on the board were for those who were bad....I do not recall writing my name....oh wait! I think I did once for talking in class and I had to go write my name on the board.

Got an LOL. Just found a back-to-school stamp set that LickeyAn rak'd me sometime back. It has 47 stamps in the set. It has a few images, but most of the 47 are phrase/sentiment stamps. So I don't see myself making much use of this find for my tag--but you never know...

Angela, that's funny! I hope you were able to find them on sale! Our Target already has a back to school section set up. School starts back in about a month here so as soon as the 4th is over, back to school stuff is everywhere.
