I'm sorry to say that my tag has stalled! I figure I have another week before I have to send it, so hopefully I'll get my mojo back! Fortunately I know what I'm going to do, it's just a matter of doing it!

I'm looking forward to getting yours, Heidi! Maybe that'll give me a burst of creative energy.

I've also got an extra incentive in that I want to do one or two of the CHA challenges, but can't til I finish my tag!

Hi everyone, we had an unexpected death in our family and this past week has been rough. My energy has been zapped.

Now to start getting back in the groove. My tag is finished and if all goes as expected, will be in the mail tomorrow!

My tag has been almost done for over a week now. I want to add a finishing touch but I'm waiting to see if I make it up to school this week. It does not look good. I may have to use something else.

Tyuill... I got your tag yesterday. It is soooo sooo cute! I love the bookworm!

Yours should be in the mail in the next few days. I had a block! But it is almost finished now.

AJ. So sorry to hear about the family death. My condolences.

Looks like we're running true to form with this month's tags. 'Summer' done & 'summer' not. (couldn't resist).

I actually surprised myself by keeping my tag fairly simple this time. April should get it in the next day or so since I mailed it this past monday.

Nice to be ahead for once. I have an idea for my Sept. tag. It's going to be a bit of a challenge to pull off, but I have time to work on it.

AJ, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I've had my tags done for days now but haven't had a chance to get them in the mail until today. The sick bug has taken over our house and has kept me from getting stuff done!
So AJ and Lisa, they're on their way!

Thanks everyone for the condolences, that is very kind. Today is the first day I've felt a bit cheery. So, I'm capitalizing on that and have put the finishing touches on my tag. Leigh Ann it is on its way to TN! I hope your arrives in SC within the next few days, or I won't get it until I'm back from vacation! That would be terrible! If that happens, you're welcome to post the picture and I promise not to peek!

LeighAnn sorry to hear about the bug that's swept through your home, hope everyone is feeling 100% soon!

Our mail lady had already come today, but it's officially in the box waiting for pickup on its way to you LeighAnn. I really hope it arrives in tact. Does anyone ever have a problem with tags getting bent up? I took a picture before it went in the mail. I can't wait to start seeing other peas pics pop up on this thread! Maybe I'm a little over excited, but this is the first swap I've ever participated in.

AJ. Far as the excited goes? Trust me. All of us swappers usually share that excitement. We get excited when what we make turns out good & we get excited when we wait to see what our swapmates have made.

One way I stay excited is by only joining swaps I really like--like the montly tag.

Congrats on doing your 'first'!

Yay AJ! Can't wait to get it!
I usually will place some cardboard from cereal boxes and stuff around my tag but I've had some sent to me just in an envelope and they're in great shape.

I just realized I didn't take a pic of my tags I sent out .
I've been so scatterbrained lately.

These days, Pug? Can't imagine why.

That does, however, make a good point about photo/scanning our swaps before we mail them.

Most of us can do a photo/scan of what we get from others. I (surprise?) am the exception. But if you send me something without pre-pix-ing? Not the end of the world.

If I 'like' it, I'll find a way to share it. If I don't 'like' it? I'll find a way to share it. Option 2 has never happened. I 'like' what someone makes for me--always!

Well good to know I'm in good company here Daniel! Funny how something as simple as a tag can give us all so much joy! I'm thinking about joining other swaps, but this is one I'll stick with.

LeighAnn, I will photograph and post pic of the tag you've sent me. It might be mid Aug when we're back from vacation. Unless it arrives by Tuesday! Then I'll put pic up before I go.

Daniel, I'm like you. I really appreciate when someone hand makes something for me. I can't imagine not liking a tag from this swap group. I'm planning on hanging them up on my tack board in my office so I can appreciate them!

LOL, AJ. We're a pretty laidback bunch about lots of things.

Mostly we wait to upload our swap projects, but there have been occasions when a swapper has to upload before their swapmate gets the piece. Not ideal, but life happens.

Even then? While seeing is nice, nothing beats having the project to actually hold & enjoy. Photos/scans only provide so much. With few exceptions, all the swap projects I make or receive are very tactile.

Feeling is fun!

P.S. Don't forget to take a pic of your tag before you mail it to me. I can't scan/photo directly to my computer.

I finally got my groove back this afternoon and worked on my tag! I hope to finish it tonight or tomorrow night and then get it in the mail.

I thought I'd better not commit to the September tag as this one was so slow to get going! As much as I love the monthly tags, I think I need a break from commitments for a while.

I haven't got yours yet, Heidi, but I keep excitedly checking. Should be here tomorrow.

I want you to know that my swapmate went above & beyond the call of duty in making it possible to share my tag. 'CC'(April) had a dose of 'troubled tummy' from something she ate. But still did great photos. TYBG, pal!

Here's my August tag. I provided most of the pertinent construction details with 2 exceptions--one of which was deliberate.

The non-deliberate concerns the tag's shape. I angled the sides to create a 'forced perspective'. It reinforces the path which is broarder at the bottom & narrower at the top.

The 'deliberate' omission was how I turned the stamp image into a sliding element. Even April can't see that unless she removes the backing. And she is free to do so 'cause she owns the tag.

Sometimes it's fun to let us figure out how we pull off our 'magic' & boy have there been magical tags since Pug started this swap!

Got my tag from Melissa and it brings back memories of kindergarten. I remember practicing my letters on that kind of lined paper. I'm rather impressed that Melissa made the paper with newsprint and a marker. I'm really impressed with the tissue paper tassel on the top.

I got all the instructions, but I'll let you read them when Melissa posts her tag to the gallery.

Thanks Melissa for some nice school memories. My tag for you is done and will go out in the next couple of days.

Hi everyone. I received lovepug2's tag and it was very pretty. I loved the idea of using rubber bands for the top. How cute! I just sent yours off this morning. The sad part is that it has been about 95% complete for almost 3 weeks now. I got busy with work and then lost all creative juices for some reason. It was pitiful. But I am back and I really hope you like it. I used crayons, glue, notebook paper, and flashcards. I don't have a completed picture because I was trying to catch the mail lady before she left.

Checking in quick tonight. Leighann, glad you got my tag and I got yours too, right before we left it was in the mail. So clever, made me rethink not going with an official school theme. Rubber bands, great idea for the "ribbon". I'm typing on my phone right now, soharder to type. I'll post pics of both tags we both made tomorrow when I have a computer.

Here is the tag that LeighAnn made for me! I'll let her comment on how it was made. Let me apologize for not having a better image to share here, I can re-take the photo once I'm home with a good camera. All I had was my phone to take the pic and I realized once it was uploaded that it was on it's side! Love the rubber bands you used as the bow on top! What a great idea. Also, love the colors and how you blended them over the glue swirlies! Thank you for the lovely tag!

Here's the tag that I made for Leighann. I'd photographed it and emailed it to myself knowing that I'd need to post the photo here while I'm on vacation.

I didn't go with a school theme, instead I stamped a new set of Lawn Fawn stamps and shaded with crayon, colored with marker and used lots of elmers glue and glitter in the decorating! The sentiment is how I feel about a good education.

Heidi, love that you stamped with rubber bands, that was a very neat technique! I just saw a card recently where someone stamped using painters tape, much like what you did with the rubber bands. Great tag!

Heidi, I was thinking the same thing! What can't be used as a stamp?? This woman used the glossier paper, not sure which brand. But she went over the ink pad with painters tape, pressed it on the paper and used various pressures to achieve the look she wanted. It was so pretty!

Thank you Daniel! I wasn't sure if I could do crayons and markers, but it turns out they were a lot of fun to work with. I plan on doing more shading with crayons! btw, the embossing on the clouds is really just glue that I squirted out in balls, let set up, then dusted with glitter. (glad it has the embossed look though!)
