8-14-13 MeleahBoyett, please check in! I have not heard from you. Are you going to be able to mail on time. Please respond, thanks. Meleah. As it stands, everyone has checked in and I should have all packages in hand this weekend.

8-10-13 - just a gentle reminder, these are due in my hands by next weekend so I can swap out and mail before my classes start. All packages should be going postal next week. Any packages mailed after today, require tracking be posted to the board. So, don't forget to keep your receipt and post it here. Starts with a 9 from your receipt.

These are looking good!!! When I get them all in, I will take pictures and post them to the board of each set.

8-2-13 Congrats to Shilo for winning the checkin prize this week. We have two more weeks til they are due in my hands!!!!

7-26-13 Congrats to Misty for winning a pack of letter stickers in a banner style!

7-17-13- I generated a number from Random.org for the 17 people who checked in, (see last post) and the number was 6! Liortega was the 6th person who checked in during our game. Congrats you lucky girl! You won two prizes in a row! This time its a halloween notepad! Everyone else, keep checking in and checking back. I have 8 more prizes to give out!

7-10-13 Congrats to Liortega for being the first to post a pic of their workspace. You win a Graphic 45 chipboard tag set.

7-7-13, I extended the due date by one week to give us a little extra time to create. Thanks all for responding.

7-6-13 Congrats to April for winning the set of Thickers for answering the question correctly.
Today, the next 4 people who sign up for a new spot will win a new, unopened, cling stamp set. First come, first serve, first choice basis! Are you on the edge of joining? Will this push you over? Come join the fun!!!!

***UPDATE: Congrats to Meleah, Renee, Becky and Treyaut for winning a stamp set! I have your names on them and they will go back in your packages with your swap items. I took the remaining spots so we are now closed and ready to create!!

7-5-13 I have 6 spots in Modern Group 2, and 3 spots in Vintage Group 2. I got my chipboard today! Woot woot! Now I can create! I have all my supplies pulled. If you have not done so, scroll through the thread and check out the inspiration pics. I also posted what I pulled from my stash and recently bought to put these cards together. This is a great way to pull things from your stash to use.

I am not sure what else to call it. It is not recipe cards, but really 5x7 chipboard cards that you will embellish and then put in a box/basket of your choosing. We are only swapping the cards. Note that this swap is due in SIX WEEKS!

Check out the vellum pocket on this vintage/victorian card.

Here are the cards standing up in an altered basket:

CARD REQUIREMENTS:

*Must use 5x7 chipboard. I buy mine from Amazon. NOT HEAVY CARDSTOCK. It is $3 for 25 pieces. You can use chipboard you have your stash or can buy some from local craft stores as long as they measure or are cut down to 5x7. This will give us enough room to put a picture or two and embellish.

*You must cover card front and back with paper, embellish the face of the card at least three times (enamel dots, washi, inking, flowers, border punches, nice stickers, labels, pennants, flags, bling, layering, etc.) and include at least one photo mat (can be more than one, please label the mat size with a sticky). The photo mat does not count as an embellishment. Please make sure that your embellishments do not protrude over 1/4 inch off the card. We want these to fit into a box and not be super bumpy and lumpy. They must be decorated on the landscape orientation (7 inches wide) and have a tab on top. The spot you sign up for will tell you whether to put your tab on the left, middle or side, so we won't have too many of one kind. The tab can be made out of anything!!! Cardstock, a clip, a tab punch, a wood veneer. Be creative with it, if you like! It needs to be something you will be able to grab when you flip through your box. The tabs will be handled a lot so please make sure they are secure. All 9 cards do not have to be exactly the same as far as embellishments. That is the beauty of junk journaling, but they should be similar in layout. So use the same layout 9 times, but you may change up your papers or kind of embellishment. This makes it easier to use some of what you have on hand. Please make sure that your paper choices are appropriate.

*The back: Must have a pocket with a tag in it. The pocket is to put ephemera or for the person to journal about the picture on the opposite side. You can decorate it however you want within the theme you signed up for.

*The edges: Please ink the edges where the chipboard shows. For vintage, it could be any brown ink. For modern, it can be any color ink that matches your page. This gives the cards a nice finished look.

*Please make sure that all papers, embellishments, etc. are glue down and are very secure. Test them before sending to me and glue down any edges that are still coming up. We want to make sure we send our very best to our swap partners.

*Specific paper lines are NOT required. This is a good way to use up some papers you have in your stash. Please make sure that you stay within the color combination and theme that you sign up for. For example, if you sign up for a vintage spot, please don't use glitter papers. You would use distress ink, pearls, lace, burlap, etc. Same for a modern spot, if you sign up for a modern spot, please do not distress your pages with brown ink. If this does not make sense, please feel free to contact me at any time for clarification. I will be happy to help.

*If stamping, please make sure it is nice and crisp, no smudges or messy. Please no printed clip art from your computer used as embellishments. I am more than happy to help if you have any questions.

CHECKIN REQUIREMENTS:

You must checkin each week at least once. You must keep in contact with me and with the board and let us know what you are working on. If I don't hear from you in two weeks (two no checkins)I will pmail you to determine your status. If I do not receive communication, then I will put the spot back up for grabs and that person will be listed as a flaker. You WILL NOT BE LISTED AS A FLAKER if you keep in touch and let me know what is going on. Things happen, I understand that, but there are people are depending on you to make this a fun swap. If things start to happen and you feel that you will not be able to send your items in, you need to let me know at least 4 weeks before they are due. Anyone who drops out of the swap within two weeks of the due date without a very, very good reason, will be listed as flaker. Please don't let that be you!!!! This is going to be a very, very fun and high quality swap!

What you get in return: I will post to the board regularly. I will also post inspiration pics and the pics of what I am working on. Feel free to chat here and keep in touch with your fellow peas. That is part of the fun of swapping.

POSTAL REQUIREMENTS: DUE AUGUST 17th IN MY HAND.

Must send all your items to me and I must receive them, in my hands, by August 17th. I will swap them out the 17th and 18th and mail them all back to you on the 19th. Please note that August 17 is NOT a mail by date. It needs to be in my hands, at my house, getting swapped on the 17th and 18th. If anyone has swapped with me before, you know that I am very adamant about the deadline. Everyone needs to know when they will get their items back as well as I will be starting school and I do not have time to manage a thread after that week.

Please package them up and label them with the group name you signed up for, your pname and your real name. Please send me a return address label and the amount of money that it cost you to send. Now, USPS puts tracking on all first class, flat rate and priority packages. It is on your receipt. Keep that receipt and post your tracking number to this forum. THIS IS A REQUIREMENT if you mail within a week of the due date--YOU MUST POST TRACKING. If you mail between now and two weeks before the swap is due, tracking is not required to be posted, but would be helpful to post so we can verify that you did send your items.

Please note that some people send postage for me to send their items back first class, but they do not include an envelope. If I am not going to utilize the flat rate packaging free boxes at the post office, then you need to send me something to return your items. If at all possible, when I ship first class back, I try to use the same envelope you mailed in, unless it is just shot. Something to keep in mind. If you send me enough postage to mail back flat rate or priority, then I will take care of getting packaging from USPS.

If you forget to include postage, you can either mail me some, or paypal me. Either way is fine. That will be up to you to take care of and if I receive packages without postage, I will note it on the board.

Alexandria LA 71301

If you would like my phone number to text me, pmail me and I will give you my number. That way if you have any questions, you can contact me and/or send pics, etc.

NEW SWAPPERS:

Are welcome! If you have not swapper here before, welcome! This is a fun board. Don't be intimidated by the rules. Jump right in and make yourself at home! If you are a new swapper the rules are little different. YOU MUST mail your items at least 2 weeks before the due date. If you have been here on 2 peas less than 1 year, I need you to pmail me your real name and address so I can keep in contact with you. Most of the other swappers I have their other information already.

Let's have lots of fun and make some really nice cards for our swapping partners!!! Please do your best work and send something you are proud of. A tip is to work on it while you are excited about it and not wait until the last minute to put something together. If you wait until the last minute it becomes a duty rather than an inspiration. I want to see some inspired pieces!

Oh..I also wanted to add a few ideas too. They make recipe boxes to hold 5x7 cards, Michaels and other craft stores have small baskets that you can stand them in. You can go to thrift stores and flea markets and find something cool to alter to put them in. In the examples I gave you, people used cigar boxes, wood purses, etc. Many, many ideas out there. If you decide to not put the cards in a box, you can punch holes on the left of the card and put rings in it and make it into a mini album.

PLEASE NOTE: This swap is due in 6 weeks. Thanks!

I would like a spot in vintage, modern and kids birthday. Would you mind posting an example of a modern bright paper line so I can see if I'm on the same page? I'm checking my stash to see what I have.

Quick question: For the pocket on the back, does it have to be a certain size? I mocked up one I like but want to be sure of the size requirement.

Thanks for your time!

Renee, when I think of modern-bright, I think of Glitz Designs Color Me Happy:

http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/shop/glitz-design/137002-color-me-happy-8x8-paper-pad/

A rainbow of bright colors. If everyone in the modern group agrees, we could limit it to a very specific color combo. Check out the link and tell me what you all think.

I'd love a spot in each category.

I do have one question. The photo mat on the front of the card, does it have to be 4.5 x 6.5, or can it be smaller, or two smaller sizes?

Yay! Thanks for joining Meleah! I meant for the post say "at least one" photo mat. I will fix that. It can be two smaller photo mats or one big one. It would be helpful to label it the size you cut it.

Sure thing Lissa!
Meleah, I think Anna taught me that trick (labeling mats) to make it easier to know what to cut your photo to.
Tyuill, so glad you are getting some fun in today! I'm wanting to mock up a Halloween and a vintage one. I found a huge stash of vintage lace recently and can't wait to get started!

This is cute. Make a box that has all of your items from your bucket list. And as you complete your bucket list, put your picture on the card and journal on the tag in the back. Just an idea.

Check out the vellum pocket on this vintage/victorian card.

I'd like a spot in vintage if available.

I gotcha Liortega. Updated to here. Only 4 spots left in Kids Birthday.

Everyone who has signed up for Kids Birthday, lets set a color scheme. There are many birthday lines and papers out there that go from brights, muted to October Afternoon Cakewalk...so, in order to have a cohesive theme, go through your stash and post what colors/papers you plan on using so maybe we can come to a consensus. I have the entire OA Cakewalk line.

I can open another vintage group, would that work? Cause I would live to take another Vintage spot.

Ok, Treyaut, I opened another Vintage group.

Meleah, those sound awesome! I bought some colored doilies yesterday from Michaels to work into my Modern group and some cute bright colored binder clips. So fun!

Happy July everyone!

I am going all out vintage on my sets. I am pulling out some Graphic 45 and some vintage finds (hardware, buttons, gears, game pieces and other goodies) I picked up at the antique store this weekend. Ohhh Yeah! Can't wait to get started on these.

Thanks for opening up a second vintage group.

Just want to check a few things - Do we decorate the front then leave the back for them to do what they want or Do we decorate and leave them room to do what they want on front and back? Sorry, never done theses just want to make sure I do them right for everyone!

Hi Tonya you must cover both sides. The details are in the original posts. The first 7 paragraphs describes what is required.
