Hello Ladies!
Summer in South Dakota is moving along. It has been a good one in the store so far. Tired and low on energy more than in past years. Allergies acting up more than normal.
I ordered my first 6 months of 2013 photos - although I still have 2012 to do.
You all sound busy. I enjoy seeing how everyone is doing.

MELANIE glad the store is doing so well. I hear you about getting a bit slower each year. I'm definitely a lot less ambitious than 10 years ago...oculd have something to do with raising kids, now that they are teenagers it has different challenges.

LINDY glad you are doing better too.

MICHELLE how did the cookies come out? I got a new microwave (bigger one) awhile back and there definitely was a learning curve to reduce cooking time to not over cook food.

THERESA I'm a praise junkie too and you are correct, there is a lot less of it being left. Of course having so many people leave 2peas for one reason or another didn't help. I keep telling myself I don't scrap for other people's approval, but it is nice when people comment.

NYLENE I've been scrapping less these days, although I have several projects done recently that I have to wait to post as they are CT related or contest related...eventually I'll post them. Just so you know I'm not being a total slug.

Haven't done a single thing in the yard since my big 5 hr stint so I need to get back out there. Not tomorrow though as the boys have 2 friends coming (and their aunt) for the day and evening (basically noon to 9:30 or so) so I'll be kept busy keeping the boys busy (basically diverting them from hours on end of Xbox play-by having them go to the park or taking them swimming, or feeding them all lunch/dinner, and we're planning on doing a movie in the evening).Won't be scrapping or doing yardwork.

That said, it's nearly 3 a.m. and I should go to bed.

praised to here, too.

Theresa - I hear ya. Not so much praise on my pages, but doing the praising, and just really miss the interaction we had among us. My thoughts are with everyone though, always.

Not much going on here today. I work later, and think I'll do some ironing while watching some Bones reruns today.

See you all later.

Morning all. My phone unemployment appeal conversation did not go well. The way the man from the appeals board (same guy as last time) talked to my previous manager the last time was the way he talked to me today. I got defensive and flustered and didn't handle myself well at all. Who knows what will happen. I do know that even if, by the Grace of God, that I win, the hospital can appeal that decision. This could be dragged out forever and all the while I have no income. Makes me sick to my stomach. Not so sure I'm not far from needing antidepressant medication although we have had some good news on other fronts, this whole job thing is just really getting me down. Going to take a nap if my brain will turn off long enough to sleep. Didn't sleep well last night and I'm beat.

Theresa - Oh, I'm so sorry the second interview didn't go well. It must be so hard staying calm while feeling so on the defensive. I'm with you on the praise too. I miss all those lovely messages, but, hey, as Debi says, we aren't doing it for other people.

Diana - Can just imagine the talking to Daniel is going to get. He seems to need it, but hope things aren't so awkward that he rebels against going back to school. Very difficult situation.

I didn't burn the cookies! I read the oven instructions (I'm not a man that only reads them when all else fails) and put it on the recommended settings (also realised for the first time it's a convection oven too ) and they came out perfectly. The boys spent the afternoon making weird shaped cookies and decorating them with coloured icing. I took photos, so there is a LO coming sometime It kept them wonderfully entertained but was a bit frustrating for me trying to find all my stuff between the garage and playroom where all my kitchen tools are still living.

Nothing else too exciting going on here. Heinrich and my cars are both giving hassles. Mine only has a loose fan-belt, but his blew a top, whatever that means Ugh! car expenses just never stop. So, just as we thought we had a bit of disposable income, gone. And just in time for the 20% off everything sale here... I thought I'd treat myself to a little box of goodies, but not anymore Aw well. Life sucks and then you die.( Not really, but it's one of Sean's sayings recently whenever he doesn't get his way. Would love to know where he heard it)

Have a good evening. Kids are all asleep and H is still at work. It's 8pm, so I'm going to play around here a bit.

Michelle, bummer about the cars. Randy's Camry won't start either. Not sure what's going on, haven't taken it in because he's driving the Rav. Figured no sense spending money that we don't have if we don't have to. Trish needed to borrow it the other day though when her car wouldn't start so it was noted that day to be a problem.

No nap for me, tried, couldn't sleep, brain wouldn't slow down. Came back to the couch and watched The Chew and The Talk. Then started loading up some photos from my phone to the computer. Found three that I took of Jeremy that I thought would work for the other sketch challenge and since I don't have to go scan this one I can actually go ahead and post it today.

Hey there Sweet Peas!!!

I had a long day, I woke up at 4am, felt like it was time to get up, so I did. I got all ready and was at work by 6am, it was kind of nice, I got a ton of work done before everyone else started getting there at 8. I'm still loving the job, although I get distress calls and resumes from my old place all of the time. The person they hired to replace me isn't very nice and doesn't seem to have any business sense at all, so that isn't going very well...makes me feel bad for my former employees and managers. I'm just blessed to be in the situation that I'm in...I'm really grateful.

Michelle - Can't wait to see your new kitchen all finished up and pretty. I hope the car repairs don't end up being too big of an expense.

Theresa - Try to keep your chin up, hopefully the unemployment judge will side with you. It's always so hard to tell what they are going to do, I remember doing cases where the judge seemed to be on my side, but then the decision came out and I questioned whether it was even about the hearing that I was at...it was pretty random. Did they say how long it will be before the decision comes? The hospital won't file the second level of appeal, that type of appeal is only used if one of the parties thinks that the judge did something wrong in the case, I've been involved in a lot of those hearings over the years and have never seen one case go through that other appeal, it is a check & balance for the court itself. I'll pray for you and the outcome of your hearing.

Diana - I hope that boy of yours gets himself back together quickly. He's smart, so I'm sure that he'll do what he needs to do, sometimes they just have to take a longer route to growing up.

Mallory called a few nights ago, she was doing really well. She said she's been eating lots of rice & beans...good thing that she isn't a picky eater. She has really, really enjoyed working with the kids on the trip. They are in the jungle in Nicaragua, they've worked at an orphanage, a place where homeless people live in a tent city and a school. The school was in a really rural community and the kids there had never seen caucasians in real life. She said that she's had an amazing experience and has been shown so much love by the Nicaraguan people. She gets home tomorrow night, we'll be really glad to have her back, we've missed her tons.

Nylene, your reunion sounds like it was awesome. It's great that after 50 years, everyone still had so much in common.

Toni - When do you go back to school? My kids go back on July 30th, which seems crazy early. We are on a "balanced calendar" so summer is pretty short for us.

Since we've had a drought on LO's, I thought I'd help us out. Here are a few of the ones that I made last weekend:

Love you more

Beautiful

I am always thinking

Hope you all have a happy evening...I'm off to watch Big Brother.

Good morning!

Tina - I can't believe it's time for Mal to come back again. Wow, time just flies, though I'm sure it didn't feel that quick to you. So glad she is fine and enjoying it. It must be hard knowing your previous work's people aren't happy. (((hugs))) Not much more you can do though.

I received some washi yesterday in a washi-swop we SA peas organised. How much fun to get that little envelope of goodness. Our tastes are all different and these are definitely going to challenge me a bit. And there's a piece of neon orange - I want to try neon but not invest in the expense if I don't like it. Haha, perfect compromise! Now I need to find the time...

It's our 15th anniversary today, but we will only be celebrating on Saturday night. Couldn't find a baby-sitter mid-week. Just so thankful for this wonderful man in my life, who puts up with my not-so-pleasant side so patiently.

Theresa!!! So happy for all of you! What a blessing!.

Well Daniel got accepted into the College here which is where he should of gone from the get go! It's a great school. And got the job at the hospital doing the IT 2 hr a week 3 days and saturday and sunday 7 to 4. I'm so happy. I was so concern with this kid, y'all have no idea.

Thank you ladies for you prayers. Now he has to study and if he does well this year he will get his scholarship back.

Michelle..Happy Anniversary. I thought about you today, I was watching a cooking show today from So, Africa and the man (can remember his name) made some amazing bbq meats. Something called Perry Perry Chicken (don't know if I spelled it right), but I'm going to try it. I don't want to be here when that talk takes place, Stan's is at his wits end with him. I told him your life is not going to be a lot of fun for a while.

Tina...So glad Mallory is enjoying the experience. Even more exiting having her back home I'm sure.

ok have to finish the dishes, I wish I had a genie in a bottle!

Diana, hurray for DS getting not only back into college but also a job, whoo hoo! Stan can't argue with that!

I got a call from a friend tonight that works at the VA. The second job that managment thought was coming open did and they told him to tell me to put in a formal application so maybe there will be a job for me too. Already sent it in via internet. It's a Unit Manager position and Mon-Fri, slightly less $ than the other one which isn't good but, gotta work.

I got in trouble already with the DIL. Seems she doesn't want anyone posting any photos of her on FB which evidently includes the ultrasound photo. I posted the link to the layout I did here on FB as a way to share the news. She isn't happy. Had to delete it from there. Am not deleting it on here, can't see how it will be a problem but who knows. Hoping this isn't the start of something really bad. I know Wanda had a problem with her daughter because she didn't want photos posted of the grandbaby. I'll keel over dead if I can't!!!

Ah THERESA mama bear is already kicking in protecting her cub. She'll relax eventually but it's easy to understand her not wanting everyone on FB to know. I always feel a bit uncomfortable when the grandma posts photos of my kids (especially when they were small) even though I've posted tons of photos in this gallery myself. Makes no sense, really.

SO happy for you though. How exciting to have something so fun to look forward to. Did you know they were trying to get pregnant?

MICHELLE I missed your anniversary but I hope it was excellent. 15 years is something to be proud of. Can't say I ever made it that long. Guess I'm too hard to live with.

Kids have 2 friends over and they are busy on the XBox and quite noisy. I told them they can stay up til 1 ish, but not later as I won't be able to sleep as long as they are awake.

Afraid I'm dealing with another abscessed tooth. It might be the same tooth as before or the one next to it,can't tell for sure, but I'm getting swelling and it's pretty painful. May be heading to the dentist early tomorrow morning ifit continues to be bad. I'm so tired of having teeth problems due to chronic dry mouth from my RA. It's ruining my teeth and I can't afford to have them pulled, or rootcanals and crowns, but no matter how conscientiously I brush, floss and rinse my teeth, I can't stop the problems. .. receding gums, brittle teeth that keep breaking and of course decay beneath the gumline. I'm afraid my "pretty smile" is doomed. It's just a matter of time. Not sure what I can do in response. But I do know,I hate tooth pain.

Got the boys' hair cut today, and met their friends at the bowling alley for a couple games (kids bowl 2games/day free--have to rent shoes though ($4/each)but a fun activity. Went out to Taco Bell with Grandma for a late lunch, so all in all a nice day despite the tooth pain.

Now I'm off to surf the web and finish my book before going to bed.

Thanks for all the well-wishing!

We did get to go out to dinner after all. Ruan wanted to sleep over at the neighbour's and when Rosie found out it was our anniversary, she offered to look after the other 2 for a few hours too. So thankful. We had a great time and could really connect again after pretty much living past each other the last few weeks. Work has us both swamped, so we go to sleep as soon as the kids do.

Theresa - Congratulations! That is awesome news! You'll just have to fuzz out baby's face if she won't relent. It will spoil your fun a bit, but you don't want to antagonise your DIL. Family is more important that a few photos on 2peas...

Diana - so glad to hear Daniel is getting himself organised. Maybe he needed to shock to get himself sorted.

Been low key all day, sat outside and read for a bit (it was gorgeous today) and when the heat got up a little too high I came back in and did a little cleaning in the scraproom. That led to another layout.

Curious

This one is about the baby without being the baby. I bought the stuff because Jeremy loved Curious George when he was growing up. He even took a huge stuffed animal off to college with him (probably have it in an old layout somewhere).

My brother is on his way over to either see if he can get the Camry going or he's going to tow it to the shop for me. Hoping it's something simple and he can just fix it. We are already out a few hundred last month on the cars.

Ah yes cars,my nemesis.I need to repair one of the sensor valves before getting the exhaust tested to be able to retag my car in Aug. It'll cost me several hundred dollars so I've put it off as it isn't critical for driving the car, but helps keep emissions down. But now I have to do it or I can get a new tag. Oh well.

THERESA you've been going to town scrapping. I haven't done much yet this month. Summer always seems slower for me.

Here's one I'm doing for another site's contest. I made it through the first cut...yay!

Good morning ladies, up and ready to tackle Daniel's room after I have my breakfast. It's going to be an all weekend job but the girls and I will get it done.

Another good news on the Daniel side, the people where he work/lives told him that he was one of the best IT people they ever had, and always there when they needed him, he was on call from 9am to midnight everyday, that they will forget the one year lease he had signed. The managers words were "forget you ever signed it, it does not exist". Can I tell you how relief I am.

Debi..Sure hope you can get your car done. About 10 years ago they stopped doing the emissions testing here, too many people were stealing from it, so it stopped. It was a pain, but now once in a while you get one of those nasty smelling smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe, not nice. Although it's still against the law and ow the police will stop them and give them a ticket. Oh Debi, sorry about your tooth, prayers that it won't cost too much, or that it will magically disappear.

Theresa...Sorry to hear that about the DIL. Hopefully we can see pictures of your grandbaby once he/she is born. Good luck to you. Praying that you get the VA job. Stan will find something to bitch about but that's ok Daniel need to grow up he is very immature.

Tina...Is Mallory back home?

Here are 3 for me, I have like 5 more that I have not posted from June, will do it a little at a time.

Smile

Up for a Little Fun Check out the cute little critter I'm holding.

Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend.

praisemark

I have been spending my afternoon planning pages and printing photos. I think, with my limited time, it might be a good idea to put page kits together so I can just grab one and not wonder where to start. It is amazing how inspiration and creativity starts to flow as I'm going through my photos, bookmarks and sketches. And if I don't use them between now and October, I've got them ready for my retreat. (Sure hope I get to do them before then, though.)

We got the quote to fix Heinrich's car today - about $970! The mechanic even asked him what the car is worth to him as it might be cheaper to just scrap it. But it is paid off, so a one-time large payment is better than paying $$$ every month on a new car. Cars are much more expensive here than in the USA. We would be looking at a minimum of $7000 for a new entry-level car. Not till the finances stabilize.

Debi- that is awful that you have to spend money on a non-essential to get the tags renewed. Hope that tooth has sorted itself out. You don't need anything else causing pain.

Diana - That is amazing news about Daniel's lease. Phew, that must be a load off your mind. Sounds as if he really impressed him with his work-ethic and skills. That is good news for the future.

Enjoy your Saturday!

Hi Pea Friends!

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here today. I spent the first half of the day outside weeding. Mr. Honey was out there too, but he stayed out, he's going to fall over when he comes in, he's been out there for 9 hours doing yard work.

Theresa - I wondered if she'd have a fit about it since she's been a little quirky about having the other pics online, maybe she just wouldn't know to look here so it won't matter.

Diana - that's really good news about the apartment, I wondered how you were going to deal with that.

Debi - Sorry about your tooth, I hope it isn't absessed too, that has to be really painful. I hope you are able to get it taken care of soon.

Mallory is home. She had a wonderful experience on trip, she really enjoyed all of the kids that they got to work with. They went to some pretty remote parts of Nicaragua and she really loved the people and the country, she said it's gorgeous. They also did some work at a homeless camp called tent city, she was really impacted by how those folks lived and how happy they were despite having next to nothing. She was a little off her first day back, she seemed to be a bit overstimulated with the technology stuff and noise, but she's doing fine now.

Well, I'm off to do some praising and then I need to get dinner going. Take care all!

Tina

TINA sometimes I wish we could de-TECH and go back to simpler times. I,like Mallory, was impressed with the small villages on Bali and how happy people were with so little. We Americans are very spoiled, even those of us who have little still have so much.

MICHELLE nice to see you. So is the kitchen done? Are you making a page kit for scrapping the remodel? I'm not good at preplanning pages...I'm much more a on-the-fly designer.

Tooth is definitely abscessed, but seems to be going down on its own for now...hope it lasts awhile. So the intense pain has been alleviated, but there is still some swelling, tightness of the jaw and some achiness but I can live with that for now. Let's just hope it keeps improving.

I went to the Milk Carton races at our local lake this morning, and to the North Precinct Police Department Picnic (free to the public). So at the lake I had a free Taco (TacoTime) and several different types of beverages(sample size). At the picnic, they were giving out free hotdogs (I had 1 without the bun) and free soda, water, gatorade, potato chips, apples, ice cream (I had a nuttybuddy type cone and 2 missle popsickles). There were drawings but I didn't win a thing. The grandparents of the boys who stay with their aunt were there with the boys...All 4 of them won a prize (can you believe it?). The boys each won a backpack, the grandmother won a $50GC to a local hamburger place (Kid Valley) and the grandfather won $25 GC for ice cream. Last year they won stuff too. They just are lucky I guess. I did get a free tee-shirt for one of my boys (rust colored with WEST SIDE STORY PROJECT written on it). It'll be a good one to wear around here or over to their dad's if he isn't keen on it.

Now I'm home. Thinking about doing a speedscrap in a couple hours. Not sure what I want to do in between.

I have 2 more LOs posted

Gorgeous here today too. Spent the morning with my sister visiting little shops here and there in the area. The afternoon was spent in the swing reading Life of Pi. Spent the evening watching TV with Mr Lazy Bones who never wants to go anywhere unless it involves golf or comic books. I wanted going to go downtown to the free concert. There was a chance of rain and since he didn't want to go anyway, I didn't go. Rain missed us. Music was 50's and 60's. Still think it would have been fun. Oh well.

THERESA I would have gone with you to the concert. I know it is hard to do things alone, but since I have no one to do things with, I occassionally venture out alone (like today to the boat races and the picnic). It was nice getting outside instead of sitting indoors all day so glad I did it, but grated it's more enjoyable if you have someone to share it with.

Weather got to mid 70s today so pleasant, a bit warm in direct sun but not bad. Just made me enjoy my ice cream more.

Finished the speedscrap (no thanks to my computer which keeps freezing up- I think I have too much stuff on it). Here it is.

Happy Sunday all!

Debi, I would have went by myself but then I have to answer the "where's Randy?" question hundreds of times and hate to say, 'he's home watching TV' LOL. Guess it really doesn't matter. I'm sure he was tired he worked yesterday but going out would have just meant parking the car and sitting in a chair for an hour, not actually having to "do anything" else. Probably will be the last cool night to have went, he may wish he'd went when I finally drag him and it's 100 degrees.

No big plans today. Randy is off today but other than going to church we can't go anywhere else. My brother is supposed to come to tow the car to the shop, he couldn't do it Friday, so we have to stay home and wait for him.

Looks like more rain headed this way, hope he doesn't wait to long in the day to come.

Good morning ladies, just driving by. I finished the kitchen and cleaning out Daniel's room, took off the border also. Going to buy paint and paint it tomorrow after work. I'm beyond tired but I just want to get it done and over with.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hey ladies!

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a nice day today. My day at work was good. Mr. Honey and I went out on a little date to Cheesecake factory tonight...which was muy yummy! Now the girls and I are getting ready to watch another riveting episode of the Bachelorette.

I thought I would post another one of the LO's that I got done this weekend, it was supposed to be my BOS challenge, but I changed my mind on the photos.

Here it is:

Days like these

I used my Cameo to cut the title, I'm still trying to learn what all it can do, but I'm liking it. I wish I knew someone around me who had one to show me how to do some of the other stuff that it can do...I learn so much better that way than with videos.

Anywho...have a nice evening ladies!

Stopping in - glad to see you.
Kind of sad/disappointed tonight. Business related and too hard to explain but just had to express that little bit.
I have a book to finish for book club on Wednesday so better not stay on here too long. Also have bed to make and laundry to put away. No scrapping to report. Photos I ordered should be here tomorrow or Wed.

Take care all!

Tina, I just pinned a layout today that I bet you used for your inspiration for that cute layout. Same quote, love the way it looks.

Spent the morning on the telephone, first with Randy's Dad's wife, then two friends. I literally was on the phone from 9 a.m. til Randy came home a little before 12! My ears felt like they were bleeding. Thankfully I had a cordless phone, got up and got two loads of laundry finished and straightened up the house while I was listening to the calls. Got a little over confident and tried to change the hummingbird feeder out and spilled it all over the lawn, LOL.

Randy and I went and spent a small fortune on nothing at the store. Supper grilled, watched a bit of TV, gave Randy an early birthday present (Season 3 of The Good Wife) so we watched one episode of it before Major Crimes and King and Maxwell came on.

Pretty much my boring day all summed up just to keep the thread alive, LOL.

MELANIE sorry you hit a business snag; hope it is fixable. But look at all the photos you have to look forward to scrapping. That's got to help your mood some, right?

Just finished a LO for the 2nd round of a contest I'm in. My LO looks different from the other entries...hope I read the instructions correctly. Oh well I'll know by this Friday whether I make it to round3 or not. Crossing my fingers.

Didn't do anything today...been hurting all day, so just sat and organized digi files, did my LO, and read. Pretty pathetic but that's my life some days. My day was less productive than yours THERESA I'm sure.

Good morning!

Debi - I plan every page in quite a bit of detail before I start, although they do evolve as I'm busy and sometimes look nothing like the initial plan. But I usually have a photo-placement, paper choice , sketch and a broad idea of what embellies where. I can't just do it on the fly like you. How on earth you do a page in less than an hour, I'll never understand

Diana - Good going on Daniel's room. I'm just waiting for the alarm guy to move the wiring on the kitchen windows, then I can finally finish and paint. Not going to share the final results till then, lol.

Melanie - good to see you but hope the business stuff sorts itself out. It is always stressful when something doesn't go according to plan.

It is Sean's 11th birthday today and school started today, so this morning was a bit of a mad rush with presents, looking for school bags, shoes, getting teeth brushed, etc. I was quite exhausted once I got them delivered at school! I'm not looking forward to the early mornings but the routine is good.

Have a great day!

Good Morning Sweet Peas!

Happy Tuesday! I'm spending today and tomorrow sitting in Medicaid Compliance training...can we say b.o.r.i.n.g??? My goal for the day is to stay awake. Hopefully it won't be too dreadful, but it's something that I need to do. I think a couple of my former employees will be there, so it will at least be nice to see them.

Melanie - Hugs to you. I hope that you are able to get things all worked out on the business issue. Has business been good this summer?

Michelle - I hope that Sean had a great birthday. It's crazy how fast time goes by when you are watching your kids grow up. Griffin will be 10 in September and that seems unbelievable to me.

Theresa - You have gotten so much done this summer, don't know how that could be boring. When will you find out the outcome of the unemployment hearing? The LO that I lifted was done by Mandy Kay Starner, I always love her work. She has such a fun, happy style.

Well, I need to get moving. Hope you all have a nice day.

Michelle, happy birthday to Sean! I can't do page kits that are that specific, have tried, really I have. When I'm planning the page kit I always end up just finishing the layout, LOL. When I'm going to a crop, I take way too much. I do try to figure out what photos I'm going to use, grab a bunch of paper and embellishments that I think I might use and that's about as close to a kit as I can get. My friend Cathy does kits like you do, she even does the journaling on her computer in advance, prints it out and at the crop she'll cut it out, matt it and add it to the layout. She finished 8 pages at the last one. I did one! Of course, while she can focus on scrapping, I was teaching embossing in one corner of the room and how to make explosion boxes in the other.

Tina, good luck with the meeting. I'd sneak in my smart phone and play a game, LOL. Of course, that would be when I'd be called on to answer a question too so maybe that's not good advice. I still haven't heard anything on the appeal. The layout that I saw like yours was on the simple stories blog.

Debi, hope you feel better today.

I'm supposed to go to Owensboro to meet my friend Paula today. We've tried to go see The Lone Ranger three times already and something has come up every time. She should call me within the hour so I'll know if the trip is on or not. IF I go, I have to go by Kohl's and get that photo frame that wanted for the ultrasound photo, it's on sale 50% and I have another 20% coupon, whoo hoo!!! If I don't go with her, we're going to Evansville Thursday for Randy's birthday dinner, I'll get it then.

Best get off here and get busy. I decided to sell the treadmill that just collects dust to make more room in the guest room. Someone is coming to pick it up tonight. If I do go with Paula today I'll just get home before they get here so I need to pull it out and at least beat the dust bunnies down to a minimum so they won't realize just how long it has not been used. Would hate for them to change their mind about buying it at the last minute by thinking that it will eventually sit unused at their house too. Then again, I sold it for less than I should have (my cousin is the buyer) so she can probably just resell it for what I wanted for it to begin with. It was only posted for sale for a few hours so I should have held off for more but I really want it gone. It will tick me off if she does resell for more though so I best not see it online. My brother did that to us one time when he begged us to sell him a van we had that Randy didn't want to sell (it had been his Mom's). He just HAD to have it for his family size and we weren't using it. He called us and begged for weeks before Randy caved. My brother sold it in a couple of months for quite a bit more, bought an S10 pickup and keep the profit. Randy was mad for years!

Speaking of men getting mad, Diana, has Stan calmed down yet and how's the room coming along for Daniel? Is he already home?

Have a great day all!

Thanks everyone, I am feeling better today. Off to catch a cheap movie (pg) for $1 at the Regal just to jump start my day, then a few chores (hopefully) then off to do my weekly visit with mom. Since I don't have to pick up the kids tonight, I don't have to rush home, so maybe we'll take time to have dinner and do a bit of shopping. Mom offered to buy me a BBQ for my upcoming birthday...instead of giving me cash (her standard gift). The BBQ is more than the amount of cash,so perhaps I should take her up on it. Although the cash I could put towards fixing my car...but that wouldn't be as fun. Gifts are supposed to be fun, right? And since my mom is the only one who acknowledges my birthday, might as well go for the gift.

Have a great day.

Just a quick note. I have everything ready for Cubs and have a few minutes to spare. Sorry I haven't been chatty lately, I've had so much going on around here and don't get to the computer.

Wanted to post the pages I have finished. These are of our DD while living in Japan and her sweet host mother and grandmother.

Review of The Lone Ranger, it's LONG. Johnny Depp is hysterical. Literally laughed out loud at him so many times I lost count. Overall, the movie is entertaining and was a good way to stay out of the 103 degree afternoon but don't spend money going to the theater, wait for the video store to rent it. Did have fun with Paula, she treated me to lunch (pass due she said from my birthday back in November, I thought we did one then, who knows).

Got the photo frame I wanted for the ultrasound photo for free too (spent my Kohl's cash and it was on sale) so it was a good day.

Theresa, I also heard the movie was good, but not to spend the money. Wait til it hits the $1 theater. Glad you had fun with Paula.

Tina, hope you survived your meeting today. I'm sure it's nice to have all 3 children back safely in your nest.

Diana, I hope Daniel really works to get his grades back up so he can go back to his former program. It's amazing what happens when kids don't have parents to nag them along. Some thrive, some struggle. I'm sure he's learned what he needs to do. Hope DH is not too hard on him. As Dr. Phil would say, "His brain isn't even through growing yet!"

Michelle, we are all anxious to see the new kitchen. Happy B-day to your DS.

Toni, where are you? Are you working a bunch? My neighbor just emailed me that the spellbinders are all on sale. I need to go look tomorrow. How's Kevin doing with moving back home?

Melanie, my heart is so sad for you. I'm sure running your own business can have lots of pitfalls. Prayers and hugs for you that things will work out for you and DH.

Debi, glad the tooth is doing better. Good luck on the digi contest. I love your digi layouts. I'm always amazed at what you can do with a computer. I'm lucky to be able to post a message!!

Lindy, glad you are feeling better. Drop by often.

Oh, my brain's mush after Cubs. I know there was more I wanted to comment on. It's also old age!!

Morning, day 3 of my mild headache, it's the weather.

Found a website on Pinterest today that is great for Cricut users. You type in the item you want to cut and it will tell you what cartridge it's on. My cuts (link there) I do that with my Gypsy but since I haven't updated it in forever (it was on my old computer) it doesn't have everything.

Praised up.

A young girl in our community was in a horrible accident and ended up having to have one of her legs amputated. They didn't think she would survive but she not only did, she thrived! Her spirit has been beyond inspiring. She's getting to come home today so the community is going to line the street to welcome her. Hate to get out at noon when it's going to be almost 100 degrees but I believe I will just have to go.

Well Rachel (the girl that was coming home) got delayed and I started playing with my Silhouette and ended up missing her return. My friend Brittany got it on video though, looks like a good turn out so I'm sure she was thrilled. They had a police escort, firetrucks, an ambulance and a balloon send off as she rode through town. So blessed to live in a town that cares so much.

I made Randy a card but I can't post it til after he sees it and did a layout for the Bookmark's Challenge which I can post.

Tossa, I lifted you! Thanks for the inspiration.

Hey ladies,

Well, I survived 2 days of Medicaid 101, it was dreadfully boring. Whatever we paid for the training, it wasn't worth it...I did however work on my game of Ruzzle (word game) during the training.

I hadn't anticipated that my not so nice replacement at my old job would be there. I was nice to her, but it completely annoys me that she's mean to my former staff and managers. We didn't talk about work, I tried to stay on neutral topics, kids, vacation, etc.

Theresa - good to hear that you liked Lone Ranger, I hadn't really formed an opinion from the trailers. I usually like Johnny Depp though. Dh is waiting anxiously for the new Wolverine movie...I'm thinking yours probably is too. My hubby thinks that comic book movies = the same as a romantic comedy.

I got invited to a scrappy weekend retreat today by one of my board members. The only bummer is that I was supposed to be out of town at an accreditation training the whole week before that weekend. I'm thinking that my husband might hurt me if I go to Chicago for the work week and then leave immediately for a retreat for the weekend...sigh. I'm looking to see if that training will be offered again any time soon, it's pretty bad when I'm trying to schedule my work week around scrapbooking.

Anywho, I guess I should get moving. Olivia and I started going to zumba classes together and we have class in an hour. Of course it is joyful to go to class with all 95 pounds of her and her exuberant energy...I was dragging tail by the end of the class and she barely broke a sweat...such is life.

Have a happy evening!

Tina

Tina, Randy surprisingly isn't looking forward to the Wolverine movie. He didn't like the last one much, we will probably wait til video--unless he gets good reviews from friends. He is looking forward to Red 2 and we might go see it next week when we go to Lexington (have a gift certificate for a theater up there).

Stayed overnight at mom's and went BZQ hunting today...got a 2 burner with a side burner for very reasonable price. Managed with some difficulty (and removing seats and rearranging stuff in my minivan) to get it home, but now I'll need to wait for some help to get it out of my car. Can't wait to have a BBQ though...

Met a friend for dinner...sushi and hot sake...Yum!

Now I'm home settling in for the night.

Morning, up early. Today's Randy's birthday and he is insisting on playing golf even though it's going to be another scorcher today. He thinks if we go at 7 we can be finished before it gets too hot. Crazy man! I'm taking plenty of water and gatoraide. May have two men with heat stroke before lunch (his Dad is going too). After we get back (provided we don't die) we're going to clean up and go to Evansville to celebrate his birthday.

Debi, hurray for finding a new grill!

Toni, it's always so nice to see your happy face pop up! I'm sending you mojo since I seem to have too much. I can't stay out of my scraproom. Maybe it's cause I'm cleaning up entirely after every layout, and can't bear to see it clean and not scrap.

Theresa, sorry you missed seeing Rachel come home. Will you please wish Mr. Nice Guy a very Happy Birthday from me. Hope you enjoy the golfing and don't have to "hit the ball and drag Randy, hit the ball and drag Randy". That's what I've always told Steve would happen if he died on the golf course!

Debi, congrats on a new BBQ. I wish I knew how to use one. Well...maybe not. Then I'd have to cook outside in the heat and I already hate cooking.

DD and family put their 13 year old dog down yesterday. They stopped by after and the girls were having a hard time. They knew it was time, but it's still hard to lose a family member. I took them to buy fabric for skirts and that seemed to cheer them up. So that means more sewing to do today.

Tina, what have you decided about the Scrap Retreat? I'd love to go on a scrap retreat. Scrapfest is the only one I've ever attended.

Here's my latest layout:

Steam Train
Have a great day!

Moving a bit slow today, so sat and studied Japanese (always a go-to when I don't want to do something else). Now if I could just learn enough vocabulary to carry on a normal conversation...

Here's my LO I did for the contest, round 2. We find out tomorrow who gets cut and who gets to go onto round3. Hope I make it, but the competition is tough.

Evening all.

Survived the golf but we stopped after 9 holes. So Nylene, we didn't have to drag Randy, that really made me LOL. He actually did better than me and Bob. The humidity was so bad it was hard to breathe (which bothered me) and Bob couldn't take the heat. A thunderstorm was headed our way so we took advantage of the thunder and we got a raincheck for the other 9 holes. Ended up getting home by 10:45. Went to Evansville and am already back home. Another storm brewing, can hear the thunder.

Here's Randy's Card. (link there) He loved it. Of course, I think he's just happy that I'm finally using the Silhouette he bought me for Christmas!

Nylene, I feel so bad for the family, losing a furbaby is horrible. I still look for Nikita when I open the door sometimes and it's been a couple of years since we put her to sleep.

For Silhouette or other SVG file users, Miss Kate Cuttables is an awesome resource. She gives away a free SVG file every day and has a ton available for purchase as well. I do not know this person but really like her stuff so I'm sharing it with you.
