Jamie: CHA is the Craft and Hobby Association. It's a big event twice a year where all of the scrapbook companies debut their new collections. This year they changed the name to Create-N-Connect. Two Peas usually hosts chats, challenges and give away prizes. As Young Scrappers, we like to chat it up and do our own challenges among ourselves. We have a blast!

***WEEK 2 CHALLENGE***: This week we will focus on one of our Pinspiration Challenges - Use a song title or lyric. Music is a huge part of me, so I love using parts of favorite songs on my projects. Here are a few layouts I created using song titles and lyrics:

A Note to My 18 Year Old Self

Beautiful Day

Sunlight

The House That Built Me

Get creative and have fun!!!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers for my mom- it means so much!

I will be around while waiting on her surgery to be completed. I hope Millie is able to fall asleep without me tomorrow evening because it may be late when we get home.

Fun challenge, Steph!

Wow, I know I've been MIA for a couple of weeks, but this month's thread is BUSY! I'll need some time to read through them all.

I've just posted two layouts up and thought I should link them here; one of them is for week 1's challenge.

Hi, everyone!! How's everyone doing?

Jamie: If the question about the giveaway is still relevant, I would prefer option 2 - I don't have a cricut so obviously a shopping spree would appeal to me tons more!

Michelle: congrats! That's so awesome!!!

Stephanie: I'm so excited about the song lyric challenge! And I love Miranda Lambert too. I discovered her music only recently but Dead Flowers, Makin' Plans and New Strings are some of my favorite songs by her. And your "The House That Built Me" layout is absolutely gorgeous!!

argggggggggggggg I hate 2 peas right now...
2nd time it does it to me... I write a huge message and it erase everything when I try to post it...

Hi girls
sorry I had quite a packed WE and beginning of week.
I had an interview this morning, went okay, I like the kids but not so much the school...
1- really far (1h commute each way)
2- language teachers seems so blasé.... (prefer working with enthusiastic people!!)
3- contract is only for half a term (=2 month) renewable if they like my work for the whole term and then for the rest of the year, who knows...)

@Melissa: so jealous right now... I wanna see more pics though!!! I wish we could afford with Damien a 2 bed flat/house in London. I would tell him that we need a spare room for our parents and friends (but really it would be for my scrapbooking!!!) lol

@Steph: love you LOs!!! really like your new challenge and well done for finding out about the check box (was it easy?)

@Jamie: nice to meet you. My problem is not to figure out my life it is more that now that I decided what I wanted to do AND graduated, I am unemployed....
So crazy your boy's adventure.... This is something you should scrapbook, because it will make you smile later
if it is still current, for the giveaway I prefer the number 2 because I don't have a Cricut

@Rachel: how was it to shop for other people's wedding? less stressfull I guess lol.
Cute LO!!
How is your mum??

@Loni: love to see the pictures of your little one and of the other ones too of course!! I can't wait to have a family (Damien is not ready at all... )

Ok cross your fingers and let's hope it works this time lol

Do you manage to find some time for yourself? Is life at hoe not too cray?

@Baile: why did you do a Spanish exam??
I can't wait to see your 1st PL page!!

@Stacy: nice canvas

@Michelle: congratulation, this is great news!! can't wait to see your projects!

@Loni and Melissa: 100% ok for CHA party!! What did you do for NSD ?
My parents are coming for my graduation on he 24th and staying until the 25th, but before and after that I will be free!!!

@Serena: nice LOs!

Hey girls!
My time in Oregon has really flown by. It's hard to be here only a week when I was here THREE weeks last summer! I am actually on hold with Frontier Airlines right now to see if I can change my ticket to come back Sunday instead of Thursday. I realized how silly it is to come back on a Thursday to work ONE day of the week when I could stay an extra 3 days here. So keeping my fingers crossed that it works out.

It's been a bit uneventful here. We spent the first 2.5 days at the coast (my dad, his girlfriend, and I). It was nice, but my dad's idea of vacationing is gambling in the casinos. Well, I never get to see the ocean so I'd much rather spend time at the beach and seeing the coastal sights! Oh well. So then I've pretty much just been meeting up with one person after another. Quick visits this year, which I hate. It makes me sad

There also haven't been many occasions to take photos while I've been here, so I am going to have very few to scrap this year! It's weird.

I've missed a ton on the thread, so I'm not even going to try to comment to everyone!

I did see something about Rachel's mom having surgery, so sending prayers that it goes well, Rach!

Oh my gosh, I am so behind... Just flew back in from Austria, it's been a long 20 hours since we started the "coming back home" business. So once I catch up on some sleep, I'll be back here to catch up with you ladies and meet the new ladies!

(for the new ones, I'm Christina, live in Canada, starting third year university studying biological sciences and philosophy, long distance boyfriend, and scrapping since I was 12)

And Caro, I'm so darned happy to see you again

hi girls

@Rachel: happy to hear that your mum is already home!

@Monica: I hate short holidays, you always have 1000 things to do and not enough time. Do you have to stay in the casinos with your dad? can't you go at the beach alone?? (or ask him)... Did you managed to change your flights?

@bailey: what are you studying Spanish for ?

@Melissa: I guess you meant that you are planning on "DOING" a video, otherwise I have no idea who is Doug!! lol

@Stacy: I have not seen the 1st one yet, I need to find it online I think

@Christina: so happy to see you back! How was Austria??? Can't believe we were actually on the same continent for a while!! Thank you so much for all your comments on my LOs!!

went to an interview today, not for a school job, but to sign in with a teaching agency, they seems nice and pretty straight forward. Lets hope they find me a job quickly!! Now I need to sign up for umemployment benefits and do some graduation cards!

what are you up to today??

Caro, we went to Ukraine first for 2 weeks and then stopped off in Austria for 4 days on our way back. We did a whole round trip of the western side of Ukraine and through the Carpathian mountains (which were gorgeous), and my favorite city (Lviv) which is kind of a mix of Vancouver (artsy) and Florence (architecture). And then Austria which I loved, but we definitely did not spend enough time there. We did go to the Natural History museum which was AMAZING, and then we did city tours and stuff. I've got tons of pictures to work through now, but no jet lag

Loni, congrats on the baby!! I cant wait to see all the LO's

Rach, glad to hear the surgery went well, that must have been scary! Keeping you in my prayers.

Rachel, I'm glad your mom's surgery went ok.

Steph, I don't have much time to scrap, but if I were to do your challenge, it would be a LO about my son (8) always singing/humming star wars songs.

for the CHA party, when do you want to start? The weekend before or start on the 22 and go through the weekend?

Caro, last time we did chats and games. We scrapped together via google hangout. It was so fun!

Christina, welcome back!

Christina, your trip sounds great. Glad your back!

Rachel, great to hear your mom's surgery went okay. Hope recovery is quick and easy.

Rachel: so glad you mom is doing well. Thanks for keeping us updated!

Christina: hi! I'm one of the new gals, 21, economics student and from Israel. My brother majored in Philosophy and I learned so much from him. It's really affected the way I think and see things. He's now studying for his Master's in Jewish Philosophy. Everyone always asks, "but what will he do with it?..." but my parents have always taught us to study what we love, not just think of $$$. And that's also why I study economics - I have no idea if I'll ever work in it, but I just fell in love with it one semester when I randomly took Introduction to Microeconomics.

Faf, I think that sounds cool! Jonny and I were discussing last night before bed this article about Palestine calling Israeli's invaders and such when the most powerful Palestinians come from other countries and invaded Palestine - we think it's sad that intelligent Israeli's cannot think if a better argument. What does Jewish philosophy exactly entail?

Hey y'all!
I feel very out of the loop here. When is CHA?! And talk about a scrap party? That would be awesome! I'm definitely in. I don't think I have much else (major) going on this month, once I get back from Oregon.

So today is my last full day in Oregon. I leave tomorrow afternoon I had no luck in getting the airline to change my ticket. They wanted to charge $400 to change it, which is about what we paid for the full ticket!! Oh well, such is life...

It's been really hard here to coordinate with everyone. Not just because of juggling everyone's schedules but because there are so many disagreements going on between people. My brother & dad aren't talking. My dad is holding a grudge against my niece's mom. Justin's (my brother) girlfriend is "uncomfortable" with being around his daughter (Callia). Which is ridiculous because that was one of the major reasons they moved here... They have been here since October and still not made an effort to see her much. It just depresses me. So taking all of that into factor, I guess I am ready to go home... it's just too stressful. These people need to get over their issues because life is too short!!!

Okay, enough venting. I am going to the wineries with my brother & his girlfriend soon, so I am going to try to have a fun day!

Monica, too bad you couldn't change your ticket. Does that mean you work Friday? Sorry to hear about your family drama... Is this the brother that you mentioned on chat that's a but troubled? Why does his gf feel uncomfortable around this daughter? I hope everything works out and try to make the best of the last day *hugs*

Here's my newest and latest YouTube video: new video!

hi girls!!

it is late here (10.45pm), waiting for Damien to come back and watching Erin Brokovitch on TV (I just LOVE Julia Roberts!!!)

@Christina: can't wait to see your photos and LOs

@Loni and Melissa: love the 10 days CHA party idea !!!!
Do we need to organise something (create challenges?, banners...?)

@Melissa: saw your last video, it is nice to treat yourself from time to time!! I can't wait for the video of your scraproom!!

@Bailey: wow criminal justice, intense!!

@Faf: thank you so much for all your comments. I rarely scrapbook in orange actually, I am more a blue person, I struggle with red and coordinated colours

@Monica: nice to hear from you, I am so sorry to hear things are not going great, luckily it is nearly over, and you will be back to your scrap table in no time.
I think I missed a few things about your family drama. I hope everything will be better soon

Melissa: Israel, Palestinians and the world's opinions are one big sad, depressing story that always breaks my heart... So many things that worldwide mainstream media SHOULD report and doesn't, so many incorrect reports that it does, so many ridiculous, outrageous lies that the world believes...
Anyway... I didn't exactly understand your question about Jewish Philosophy. What do you mean, what does it entail? I looked up the meaning of "entail" but I still don't exactly understand... I also found out that the correct term for what my brother is studying is "Jewish Thought", not Jewish Philosophy. Apparently those are two different things.
Also, I watched your newest videos (I subscribed to your channel last week) and I can't wait to see your room!! And all the new pages you're going to make! (:

Loni: what exactly is a Pea birthday? Do you get a discount or anything like that? Anyway, mazal tov (-:

Monica: it seems like this vacation is way more stressful than a vacation is supposed to be!! All that family drama... I don't even know what to say. I hope they'll work their problems soon. It's just sad...

Caro: haha, I think my go-to color in scrapbooking (and in everything actually) is green. Also pastels in general, which is why I found the bright orange so cool.

Okay, it's 1:25 AM here... nighty night, everyone, and sweet dreams. <3

why don't we do the 20th-31st?

can be whoever can join whenever... each day there can be a host (ovs someone who's available) and they can come up with the game etc?

Faf, I agree with exactly what you said regarding Isreal and Palestine. Sad and media definately distorts it! Regarding the Jewish Philosphy, I was just curious exactly what it's about... like stuff you'd learn in a synagog or bat/bar mitzva type but I guess Jewish thinking makes more sense. Thanks for subbing and watching

Yay, a CHA party!!! I've never been to one and I'm excited already.

Melissa, since I don't know the exact definitions myself (let alone describe them in English), I don't think I can give you a better answer than just link wikipedia... Jewish thought and Jewish philosophy . But generally through the ages there have been lots of Jewish philosophers with philosophies regarding Judaism so I guess there's a lot to study... And quoting wikipedia, "The field [of Jewish thought] also deals with the connections, parallels, and influences, between Jewish ways of thought and world philosophy in general." I wish I could be more helpful...

What are you girls doing today? Yesterday I organized my high school layouts in albums. It didn't go very well... I need more albums and more page protectors. Today I hope to get some scrapping done! What are you up to?

Wow, I'm just trying to get caught up on everything. I've been MIA these past couple of weeks just a lot going on Graduation parties, baby showers etc.

@Rachel - glad to hear everything went well for your mom.

A CHA party sounds great I haven't been much of a part of chat and would like to and this would be great. Looking forward to what is in store. Hopefully I'm around

For anyone new I've been kind of hit or miss on this board. I'm Tessa 28, mother of 1 busy 21 month old girl Allie Grace, born and raised in Way Upstate NY - 7 miles from the Canadian border, secretary, wife to my DH for 3.5 years. I'm a little frustrated I went to the Young Scrappers Challenge page to see if my lo's were there and for some reason they didn't upload from my darn phone so that is a little disappointing because I've finally wanted to show off my work.

I'm hoping to catch up with conversations. Have a great rest of your Thursday. I'm off to a 5k this evening

Nice to meet you Faf (that's a cute nickname too) It's good your parents support your learning what you're interested in! Mine are kind of the same, but my mom also wants mine to have some relevance. Luckily I'm interested in law, so I can take whatever undergrad degree I want and still apply, I'm hoping health ethics law or environmental, so the zoology/anatomy/philosophy all plays into that.

Monica, that sucks that everyone was so catty on your trip, I hope things sort themselves out so you don't have to be caught up in it again.

The CHA part sounds fun! I have to start coming up with challenges for my August hosting spot so I'll try to come up with a few extra for the party at the same time

Yesterday I went through all of my trip pictures and put together a photo book on shutterfly. They were having a one day sale so I wanted to finish it up quick and take advantage of it. Luckily I got it done, and it's completely jam packed with pictures. So now that that's done I can do some scrapping! (I also have to start going through my LSAT book, but I've been procrastinating... again.)

Faf, no worries if you cannot explain I'm trying to learn about Judaism (as I would have to convert if Jonny and I get married so the children are Jewish) but terminology confuses me every time. I even borrow Jonny's moms book called "Judaism for dummies" and I don't get any of it!

Christina, I read on the form somewhere about someone complaining the shutterfly doesn't do true 4x6s? Have you had that issue?

T, glad your busy. Parties are always more fun in the summer - I think

Ill be scrapping all day again today. I scrapped most of yesterday and I didn't like many of my layouts - just one of those days where I didn't feel too creative

Monica, sorry to hear about the drama... I hope your last day is pleasant enough though!
Melissa, do you mean Amy Tan's signature series book? If so, I have that one.
Yay Dan has pretty much committed to getting me a cameo for my bday AND I just bought myself a small sewing machine!! So excited

Michelle, yes the signature series... Yay for the cameo (when's your bday) and which sewing machine did you get? I'm trying to buy on myself, however they are quite expensive here in Canada (looked on Craiglist but they're all old ones)

Christina: Melissa came up with Faf (instead of Fafuna) and I loved it so much that everyone started calling me that and I'm so happy it stuck! And luckily for me, an economics degree can be useful too; of course it's nice to love what you study AND have a chance to get a job.

Melissa: I had to look up Judaism for Dummies on Amazon and started reading... Their list of famous Jewish celebrities is so funny. But it's true we love to know about Jewish celebs... There are so many (and unexpected ones!), it's insane. Wikipedia even has a whole page dedicated for a list of Jewish actors, lol.
Ugh, I hate it when I scrap and end up not liking what I made... I hope today will be better for you!

Michelle: wow, how awesome. Have fun with all the new stuff!!

Melissa, this is my first time ordering photos, i always print my own at home. If they're not true 4x6, I don't really mind, they were free and I probably won't be ordering again anyways. But I'll let you know!

Also, I've kind of really missed scrapping. So I did that. All day. And only have one LO to show for it haha.

Christina, well I hope they turn out for you! Cannot complain if they were free Great LO, good way to use scraps!

Caro, I know you commented on one of my projects and I kept forgetting to reply - the book page with the writing is a pack by Glitz... they're called paper layers (color me happy). You could ovs take an old book and stamp on it with letter stamps

Melissa: have you seen this ? It's from the Oscars and it's hilarious.
And I can't wait to see your new layouts!! I didn't get to scrap today. Ugh. It's been a week and a half since I last made a page (still need to upload it).
I replied to your PM, did you get it? Is it normal that 2peas doesn't let me view my reply?

Christina: Loved your layout!!! Definitely bookmarked for future use. (:

Faf, I just watched that - too funny! I did get your PM and I replied. You can see your reply once you read mine. If you want to see your replies otherwise you see them in the "sent" folder.

Faf, my little pea-guy has a 5 now, so it is my 5th Pea birthday - my account started in June 2008. Does that explain it? I really should buy myself something to celebrate.

Christina, aw, bummer you need to start studying again!

Melissa, you were asking Christina, but I used Shutterfly once and the non-true 4x6 does bug me when I'm doing PL. For snapfish, I edit them in PSE and size them to 4x6 -that way I'm the one cropping them.

For the party I think anyone who wants to should do a recipe challenge and then 2peas will have their challenges. Do we want more? I like the idea of having a host for the different days.

Let's vote on the date for the party!
Start Friday evening, July 19 - 25
Start Monday, July 22-29
July 19-29
or July 19-31
