Hello dear scrappers! I've been MIA for the last month or so but I wanted to stop in and say hello. I think about you guys all the time and wonder how you're doing. But...and I know it sounds awful...I can't bring myself, even now, to catch up on the threads. I'm sorry.

I browsed through the layouts posted to the challenge and loved them. You're doing great work. But again, I'm sorry. I just don't have it in me to comment.

Summer is great. We have lots of time to take things slow. If we're having fun at the park, we stay all day...literally, all day. If we're staying cool in the pool...we stay until we're ready to flop. It makes for great bedtimes when the kids are tired. But there's a catch. I'm exhausted too. It's a happy kind of exhausted.

I feel like I usually need to catch up on the forum before I post, but the longer I wait the harder it is. So this is my lame attempt at coming back but also a warning that I'll likely disappear again until fall.

Good health, and happy summer to everyone!

Angie

Hello my friends!
After leaving work to take our son to the ER yesterday, work related accident (he's doing fine), I decided to scrap last night. Ok, so I spent more time making room to scrap than actually scrapping...BUT here's what I finished up this morning.
Room 1119

I hope you are all well and enjoying your weekend!

Happy Saturday

Kelly - I hope you find your paints and your pages so you can work on your project. It sounds like you are excited about this project and will have a great time working on it. Enjoy your pool. Yes, take a lesson if that makes you enjoy it more. I would be in the water 24-7 if I could pool water that is, I don't like lakes and beaches but I love pools.

Debi - Sorry your interaction with ex was unpleasant. Why oh why do people have to make others' lives unpleasant. I just don't get it. Congratulations on your progress on the other site. Sounds like you are having fun with that. And glad you have a good attitude about having some nice relaxing time for yourself. Maybe you can get lots of projects completed. Hope your tooth pain lessons so you can enjoy your time.

Well - my wonderfully anticipated great scrapping Saturday has turned into a nightmare (okay that is a bit dramatic) but..... First my die cutting machine broke, then my paper trimmer broke, then I went to use a border punch and it was broken - (insert a scream here). I have to get my die cutter working or purchase another one right away as I am attending an online class the first weekend in August. Thankfully I have a back up paper trimmer (as they always break so I keep a backup, now I will order two more). And hubby was able to fix the punch. So I can't put my Courthouse pages together in whole, but I am putting basic pages together and apply the finishing touches when I have a functioning die cutter again.

So ultimately I am still having a fun scrappy Saturday, and I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday as well.

Maribeth

JEN glad it wasn't a horrible accident, but anytime you have to take someone in your family to the ER it's stressful. Nice to see you scrapping your Hawaii holiday.

MARIBETH they say "things happen in threes" so now that you've had 3 things break, hopefully you are done with that phase. Oy!I've definitely had days like that...sometimes all you can do is stand back and laugh.

ANGIE so nice to see you. Sounds like your summer is busy and happy. Take lots of photos and when you have more timein the fall you'll have lots of happy, sunny memories to scrap. I'll miss you but enjoying summer and your family is always top priority.

I have 2 more LOs posted

Angie, you know you don't have to catch up with everyone on the thread. Just drop by and let us know what you are doing occasionally. We are pretty low-key around here. I sure miss your kids. Every time I turn around in my scrap room I find another little note or list from Sammie.

Jen, glad the ER visit was not serious. Nice to see you scrapping.

Debi, good luck with the teeth. I hope whatever is wrong is easily treated.

Maribeth, so sorry about your broken scrappy equipment. That's a pain in the neck! I couldn't function now without my cutter. It is used nearly every day for one thing or another. Hope it's an easy fix.

I have scrapped today and finished two pages. These are photos I've had out to scrap since 2001. They are photos from our trip to Japan to see Angie while she worked there. They won't scan well because they have a lot of gold in the washi paper and in the mats and that scans as black. I will try to photo or scan them tomorrow.

Kelly, I hope you find some paints that will work for you. Michaels often has sales on their paints. I'm glad you are brave enough to try new things.

Gotta run. Thinking of all of you!!

Good Sunday morning to everyone.

Our second dog training glass with Bandit is today. Here is hoping to a success.

Uploading all the Courthouse photos everyone has sent me to be printed as I type this. Of course I sent others as well, some of the grandgirls, this years Utah vacation, and some of Bandit. So I have some fun pages to work on.

Looking forward to tomorrow so I can call my die cutting machine manufacturer and see how quickly I can get one to me - Nylene you are so right I can not scrap without it. I use it on almost every page for something, and of course I need it for my Courthouse pages.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.

Good morning from Ohio

How is everyone doing? Isn't summer so much fun!!

When I was catching up,I read reunions,rafting,5-day week-ends, ice cream and it sure sounds like summer is in full bloom. It is here, lots of get togethers,Jacob had a celebration Saturday,he turned 20 on Friday! I cannot believe how the time has flown. We had a great party with lots of food and of course cake and ice cream. He is taking summer quarter and also working,so it was nice to spend time with him and all the other grands.

The humidity and heat have returned,so chores are easier in the am. The satellite tech will be here today to repair the TV that has been out since last Wednesday. Needless to say, watching all the time in the bedroom is a pain. I am so spoiled, lol.

I have some laundry, cleaning and feeding to do,so I must get started. Hope you all have a good day. Soon come Pam

Good afternoon! I have been busy cleaning -I got this bug and have been washing out and down my cupboards etc. It is too hot to go out doors so I guess this is the next best thing!

Angie-great seeing you! I missed you, and like your mom said don't worry about catching up. We love seeing you whenever you have a minute.

Maribeth-I felt so bad about your scrapping day. I was going what else can break????? Glad the dog is doing
better!

Jenn, Jana , Anne, Amy & Brandy good to see you all also! Jana glad you are getting some time off!

Glad to see you all are doing well over the past few days. We had a fun weekend. Do you all have this burger place is your area called "Five Guys?" We tried it and it was pretty good. We usual go to a popular California place called "In and Out" but it was nice to try something different. Yum!

Still been enjoying the pool. I was looking for a new bathing suit over the weekend and it was so sad to see the lack of selection. Geez! I guess now that I am getting a little older I gotta find shops for my age and taste. Some of the bikinis and other suits I wouldn't wear if there were free.

Nylene and Maribeth- Yes, I was so happy to get some new paints and paper to create my own art journal. I just painted my first pages and letting them dry. I love the vibrant colors and can't wait to play around with it more.

Cindy- That ice cream sounds great. I gotta get some soon. Still on a smoothie kick! Are you a baseball fan? I am watching the home run derby now and have been following the Dodgers lately. I usually don't like baseball but it is growing on me. And I know you are excited for football. It will be here before you know it.

Angie- Hey! Good to see you. Yeah, like your mom said, no worries about catching up. Just nice to know how you are doing.

Waving to you other ladies. Hey where is Linda? I hope she is ok. Take care ladies!!!

Thanks for the encouragement and understanding! You're a great group of scrapers!

Kelly- you crack me up, Sis! I hear ya on bathing suits. Selection is nill just like the coverage they provide. I decided to try online shopping this year. So much more to choose from. Costs a bit in shipping (especially when I have to return wrong sizes) but its worth it not to go from store to store.

Debi- I saw your comment about needing Japanese practice. Sadly, I haven't done much with it in the last 10 years. How long have you been studying and what got you started?

I'm off. Happy scrapping.

ANGIE my sons took Japanese in Middle School (6th through 8th) and will be taking it at least in HS for 9th. I'd love it if they'd continue through HS but they tell me they won't. They didn't get along with their japanese teacher in middle school; hopeing the HS teacher will makea better impression. We'll see. I started to study it on my own (language tapes, internet sites, and looking at my kids' worksheets) as a self challenge and to keep up with them as best as possible, although I'm lagging on the kanji (harder to do that without some direct help). My vocabulary is better than theirs though. No problem with Hiragana but for some reason there are still some Katakana characters I just can't put to memory and have to look up time and time again. Even if the kids stop, I will probably keep at it to keep the brain working. In a few years I can take classes at community colleges for free (a senior benefit-and I hope to continue Japanese through that as well).

o'kagesamade (2peas doesn't support japanaese characters)...thanks for asking.

Good Tuesday morning ladies.

Well my die cutter should arrive today. The customer service at Pazzles was great. I may send my broken one in to be repaired so that I have a back up. I just couldn't wait what with my Pazzles class coming up in a couple weeks. I will be happy when it gets here so I can continue on with my pages. I am at a stand still, with pages mostly complete, but not quite needing that one die cut something or other.

Well off to get ready for the dog's morning walk. I hope everyone here has a wonderful day.

See ya later

Maribeth

I have had my nights and days mixed up on my days off. That happens to me sometimes with working nights. I hate it when it happens when I have a long stretch off. One night when I thought I was going to go to be bed early, my cat Felix found a mouse! He was having a fun time with his new friend. It took me 30 minutes but I finally got it to go inside a paper bag. I was planning to release it somewhere when it got daylight but it didn't survive his injuries.

Today is my Mom's birthday. My sister and I are bringing dinner over to their house. I also made my Mom a lime foot soak. I am not sure I have shared, my parents are finally living in their new house! They moved the end of June. It is gorgeous!!

Yesterday, I got my hair cut a little different. I had been growing my hair out and it was past my shoulders. I have decided that I really like my hair at shoulder length. I showed her a picture of a bob that Jennifer Aniston had at one time with it a little longer in front than in back. My hairdresser did a good job and really like this much better!

Nylene, I haven't attended any crops since March. I am going to a crop in August in St. Louis. I am ready for a scrappy weekend!

Kelly, I enjoy watching Donna Downey's videos of her art journals. I want to make one too! I have a couple of books to help me with drawing different things for art journals. Michaels has some art journals in their painting section. Strathmore has some nice mixed media journals.

Maribeth, I am glad you are getting a working Pazzles! I had my Cameo quit on me in January while at a crop. Silhouette had good customer service too and sent me a new one.

I might need a nap before continuing my day. My furbabies woke me up before I was ready. They have full bellies now so I should be able relax for a while.

Hi all!

Just a quick one from me today because I have lots to get ready for Cubs. We are building bridges and making bird feeders. Trying to get lots crammed into the summer to help the boys through their final badges. I have 3 graduating this month.

I laughed out loud at this:

Some of the bikinis and other suits I wouldn't wear if there were free.
from Kelly and then Angie's response

I hear ya on bathing suits. Selection is nil just like the coverage they provide.
I so agree with you both!!

Angie, glad you answered Debi's Japanese questions. I didn't know how your Japanese is now. I just know that dad and I about fell over when you whipped out your cell phone in Japan and made all the arrangements for us in Japanese. That was so cool.

Pam, my DD wants me to ask what app it is that Ruby Jo likes. Alex likes to touch the phone, but seems like he's always trying to buy things!

Jana, I don't know how you ever keep your days and nights straight. I'm mixed up and I don't work weird shifts! Glad your parents got moved. How's the snake situation now?

Maribeth, hurray for another cutter! Having the broken one fixed for a back up is a great idea.

Kelly, well where are the photos of your newest painting? It will be fun to see what you do. Glad you are enjoying the summer. It has cooled off here and gets in the high 90's most days.

Cindy, the ice cream sounds wonderful. I hate this diet! I bought a box of Fat Boy ice cream bars from one of my Cubs to help pay for his soccer uniform. I did cut my calories one day so I could treat myself that evening. The rest of them are in my freezer tempting me daily. I will resist, I will resist....

I need to run. I'm waving hi to all my Pokey friends. Even if you don't have time to chat, drop by when you get a minute. It's great to see your avatars popping up.

Oh, I forgot to post my layouts.

Mother & Daughter

I have finished another one, but haven't scanned it yet. That's for another day. Hugs to all.

Kelly, I forgot to tell you that we eat at Five Guys every Tuesday after Cubs. DH is kind and always takes me out after the Cubs leave. We love their peanuts!

Here's the other layout I finished.

Tonsillectomy Recovery

It's raining cats and dogs here, in fact, there's a flood warning for the northern part of the county. No chance of floods where we live so I'm comfy in my scraproom and hope to start another layout. Now if the power won't go off!

So glad to hear someone is scrapping! I have no energy today and tonight! Maybe tomorrow! Maggie scrapped two pages today-I will take photos tomorrow and post them. Her scrapping has changed so much!

Nylene I am going to try that Five Guys! We have one here but I have never eaten there! Maybe one day next week. Hope you are having fun scrapping!

Jana we need a pic of you with your new hairdo! We might not know who you are otherwise! Just kidding!

Well I am off!

Nylene, I haven't noticed any snakes lately. I am glad!! Poor Felix is making me nervous that another mouse might be under my dishwasher. I wish I could figure out where they are getting in. My Dad seems to think there is a big enough hole where the pipes/wires for the dishwasher for them to get inside. I am glad Felix is on the job!

Cindy, I wish I had taken a picture of my hair the day my hairdresser did it. She gets my hair to curl under just right. I have a had time getting the back to curl under. I need to get a picture for Project Life!

I had to get up early for a mandatory charge nurse meeting. I had woke up with a sinus headache and didn't have any advil left at home but had some at work in my locker. I finally feel better after taking one. I have to work tonight also and I am getting ready for a nap!

I hope everyone has a nice day!

It another warm day today. I am relaxing and just did some painting. OMG, I love these paints and trying some new things. I will post some pics. It is funny when I get done, I am sad cause I want to do more. I love Donna Downey freestyle, style. If you haven't seen her Inspiration Wednesdays here is the link. Donna

As much as I like to draw this style is so cool because there is no drawing but just playing freely with the paints!

Angie/Nylene- These swimsuits are in need of some new designers. Angie, that is a great idea to order online.

Nylene/Cindy- Yeah, Five Guys was so good. I just love the fries! Nylene, I didn't get a chance to try the peanuts but Ron sure did! He ate them so fast, the next thing I knew they were gone. LOL!

Jana- I am glad you little mouse catcher is on the job. Did you ever get your a/c fixed? I hope so cause it has been hot around the country. Also, I did see some mixed media journals at M's but the paper didn't seem heavy enough for wet and heavy medias liks Donna uses. So, I found the Acryillic paint paper pad and mad my own. I know you will have fun with one, too.

Maribeth- Did your new die cutter come? Oh, and that class sounds fun. What type is it?

Nylene/Angie- I just saw the Japanese pages you did of Angie's experience. How cool is that! Angie you looked so happy and I know you had fun. How long were you there? It just reminded me that I too had several Japanese exchange type experiences when I was in Jr High. I didn't get to go to Japan but three different times, I had students stay with me for a few weeks. Our school hosted this so several Japanese students came and stayed with many of us kids. It was so great and I hope to get there one day. I loved learning about there culture. I remember the three girls and how they brough gifts. I still have lots of the gifts. I should look at them again soon. Such great memories.

See, you ladies got me going back down memory lane.

Good morning ladies - it is Thursday.

Well my cutter arrived on Tuesday, and cuts well. But the pen tool is not working correctly on it, I tried contacting customer support yesterday on my lunch hour and was on hold for 45 minutes. I did later contact them via chat online, and they gave me a suggestion, but sadly that did not solve the problem completely, although there did seem to be a small amount of improvement. I will be contacting them again today, and until I get the issue resolved, as I use that pen tool often and really need it to be functioning appropriately.

On a personal note (rather than a scrapbooking one) I have been remiss in going to the doctor and getting necessary lab work done for over a year now. I am almost out of my high blood pressure medication and therefore I had to bite the bullet and contact the doctors office, but it is difficult for me to contact them here at the office (I have no privacy) so I faxed them and hope they will conduct business with me in regards to getting lab work and appointment set up via email or message to my cell phone (I keep it off here at work so it will go straight to message). This is such a difficult thing for me to do. Go to the doctor. I agonize and agonize over it, which I know can not he helping the blood pressure. It weighs on my mind so heavily every day. I have even tried various doctors thinking it was the doctor, but in every case I feel exactly the same way. I am guessing it is a control issue thing, I don't like anyone to be in control of any aspect of my life, and I guess ultimately a doctor kind of has that power. Contacting the doctor's office today is a huge step for me. I know this is pretty off topic but thanks for letting me have a place to vent this.

Now - on to happier thoughts - I hope everyone is having a wonderful day, and has wonderful plans for this weekend. I think I have caught up on all of your pages, but going there now to double check. I will get mine uploaded and posted this weekend for sure.

Maribeth, I also put off going to the doctor and I worked for a doc for 23 years. It was so handy to just schedule myself in, or ask a question there. He has since died and although I really like my new doc I have a hard time making myself go. Congrats on getting the courage to do it!!

Debi and Kelly, I'll let Angie tell you about her Japan experiences, but I will tell you that we hosted Japanese students and chaperones as she was growing up. Her dream was to be a 4-H exchange student to Japan, but the last year our county participated we just didn't have the money to send her. She went to H.S. and joined the F.H.A. and attended a big convention. When we picked her up at the airport after that trip, she met us saying, I am going to win this trip to Japan. We got the details that 4 kids in the nation would be chosen. She was right, she was chosen. She was always so determined! She later applied for an internship with a language institute and got the job for a year working in Tokyo. DH and I were able to spend 10 days with her. It was a great experience. Debi, I hope you get a chance to go someday.

I don't know where I got the mojo, but I can't stay out of my scraproom.
Cindy, I'm cleaning it up after every layout....maybe that's why I'm making such progress. DH just laughs at the sign you sent me for my door.

Jana, my "bug man" said if there is a quarter inch space a mouse can get through. DH used the foam stuff that hardens around every pipe and every hole made for electrical inside and outside. We have only had mice twice, but I just hate them. Since the foam application we've never had another. Hope you can keep them out.

We bought fabric yesterday for 2 DGDs to make skirts for the County Fair. They want to enter the Fashion Revue, so we need to get going on them today.

Hope you all are having nice weather and are enjoying your summer.

Here's my layout:
Steam Train

P.S. Kelly, I watched the DD video. Wow, what a fun project. I want to see what you have done so far.

NYLENE that's an amazing story about ANGIE and how she ended up in JAPAN. Did she take Japanese in school? Why was she so focused on going to Japan, and what was the contest she won to get there? I'm so impressed when people make things happen. I've had a few such events in my life and know that you can create amazing results if you are focused. It's just hard to stay focused sometimes.

Here is the LO I did for round2 of the contest I'm in. We find out tomorrow who makes it to round 3. Hope I'm in that crowd.

Hi Jen, at least the heat isn't keeping you from scrapping. We've got it better than most here on the west coast. It's been a lovely, albeit warm for us, summer so far.

Here's a quick one from me of our 4th.

OH - I forgot to share

My very first card EVER!

This was my pre-homework assignment for my Pazzles die cutting machine class. It was actually conducted to test the machines cuts. But then we had to put the elements together (as shown) and embellish.

Thanks for all your support, but I was cropped.I'm out of the contest...dang it anyway. Interesting thing is that some of my "favorite LOs submitted by others" didn't make the cut. Guess I'm not on the same page as the judges...obviously...LOL It was fun while it lasted.

Maribeth, great work on that card. I hope you can get the draw feature working on your new machine. Is the Pazzles similar to the Silhouette or the Wishblade? I hope you enjoy your class. I'm sure you will learn lots of new things.

Cindy, you tell Maggie to keep up the good work. I love seeing children's layouts.

Jen, I'm glad to see you scrapping. Post your pages so we can enjoy them.

Debi, I'm sorry they cropped you out. I think you are so brave to even enter contests. I think you do beautiful work! Angie started taking Japanese in 7th or 8th grade. It was an experimental 7 a.m. class. She stuck it out all year and continued the following years. She had to attend 3 High Schools to get Japanese. She'd drive from school to school. The contest was actually a scholarship. She had to submit an application and tell what she'd do with the info she learned. She had to be a member of FHA. Can't remember what else. It was sponsored by Kikkoman and had been won by 2 girls in our county in previous years, so they gave her good advice. I know it was her experience with the 4-H Japanese exchange that pushed her over the top.

Last night our oldest DGD received an LDS Mission call to Madrid, Spain. She is so excited. I'm thrilled for her. She has had 2 years of Spanish, but will have a lot to learn, I'm sure. She'll be 19 in Sept.

I stopped by Pebbles in My Pocket today and the owner told me she caught a shoplifter with $297 of stuff in her purse yesterday. It just makes me sick to think that a scrapper would steal stuff to preserve family photos. It blows my mind!! Not sure how you could justify that to yourself.

Have a great weekend, Pokeys. I may not get back until next week. I hope to see a bunch of layouts posted.

Take care!

NYLENE shoplifters come in all walks of life...I think it's kind of an illness too. Often they take things just for the thrill of taking them, and not because they need them, or want them, or will even used them. I mean look at the "rich" celebrities that have gotten caught over the years stealing makeup and clothes etc...Maybe they have no sense of guilt. I'm not sure I could honestly use a stolen product and not look at it without feeling guilt, but that's me.

We have at least 2 highschools that offer Japanese but it definitely isn't as easy to find as other languages, esp. Spanish. ANd no schools outside of the city offer it that I could find. It's one of the reasons I chose to stay in my house, but if the boys quit it, I may consider moving.

Not much happening here.

Debi

Hi everybody! Hope you are off to a great start for the weekend! It is still steaming hot here. Supposed to have a cold front come thru here tonight and another tomorrow morning and our temps will go back to the normal mid-80's! I will be grateful for that! My poor A/C has run and run. I even turn it up to 78 so it will shut down for a while. I have to say the grands have kept themselves entertained pretty well for being so hot.

Nylene- Congrats to your granddaughter! Send her our best wishes and I know it will be a wonderful experience!

Deb-sorry to hear you were cut-I thought your page was fabulous!

Maribeth- I think you will do fine with your class-that card is gorgeous!

I can't remember what else I was going to write as I am brain dead this evening! I was working all day straightening up my digi products as some of them got lost in the computer as I was transferring them .Then this evening I found the missing ones on my EHD and I have no idea how they got there. They were to go from My pictures to a flash drive!Oh yoy!

CINDY I hate to admit this but I really don't know the best way to backup my computer...I have crashplan which backs everything up online, but I want to move things to EHD's (one for supplies and photos)(one for LOs) and a big one to back everything, but I don't know if I use the backup program from windows, or if I use crashplan or if I drag and drop. I really want it to be an incremental backup so that changes get updated without having multiple copies of the same file to save on space. Any suggestions? How do you do it?

Ideally if I can back up everything onto EHD's and have it online as well, I can take it off my laptop so it will run better. It is very slow because I'm near capacity now.

Debi - I have an EHD, and it does perform a backup. However my intention was to keep all created documents, photos, etc on the EHD and leave the computer for program use only. I am no techo nerd so the only way I have been doing it is to manually put files where I want them. Long process, but it is working. As I create or get new files, I am saving them on the EHD right away so I don't have to go back and do that task later. It works for everything except photos, as I have been using the Creative Memories Memory Manager photo program, but I had the file structure they have for saving photos, so that has been my struggle all along. When I got me new laptop it came with PSE11 and I thought great I could use that as I can just go retrieve a photo from the EHD and edit it there, but I can not get the hand of editing in PSE11 yet so that is not in place yet.

Good luck, file management is a pain in the neck, but well worth it, especially if you like to be organized. Share anything you learn in this exploration, would love to learn more.

Well MARIBETH I'll share what I learn about backup. But I did learn to have a backup (thus why I have online service) as I lost everything (11 years of photos and LOs) in a laptop crash attached to an EHD(tookit out too) several years ago. So any backup (duplicated in more than one place) is recommended. Since the EHD was my only backup and it got destroyed too...I was left fileless.

Ok I don't go down easy. I decided to play along with the contest even if I'm not privy to get the mystery elements...I decided to recreate them myself to the best of my ability and create a LO anyway. Here's my LO. the mystery elements were: black ledger paper, multicolored smear(gesso and flowers), stop sign, and green rectangle wordart. How'd I do?

HS anticipation

Hi everyone! Hope your weekend is going along beautifully! Mine has been pretty good so far. Got my laundry done today! Maybe I will scrap tonight!

Debi & Maribeth-I have an EHD on both computers. I keep my digi products on both and I back-up one to the other. I also have my Norton back-up on them for each computer. The one on my laptop is set to back-up my computer every five minutes when idol. It has all my photos etc on it. I do not have a an online back-up. I was reading a thread in the forum over at DD about this same subject last week. I know you can load your photos on to Flickr or photoshop for no charge and that may be a good way to back those up. I have my products on both EHD's and ACDsee so hopefully I am covered that way too! But ACDsee is links to what is on the EHD. I save everything to the ehd's and flash drives so not to bog down my computers also Maribeth. I only keep a couple months of current photos on my computers then they get moved . I usually use one flash drive per year for photos, and layouts etc. I hope that makes sense!

Ok I have to go finish up dinner-will BBL!

Hi, everyone! It sure sounds like everyone is having a busy summer! We have had a relatively calm week, but I haven't got a lot of scrapping done. I have had a bit of stress at work with the therapist who is taking my place. I won't be there full time for very long (3 more weeks), but I will be working one day a week for a while and maybe some weekends so I don't want to have stress between us. Well, I gotta let go and let God, but I am such a worry-wort control-freak that that is hard for me to do!

Angie-I think that it is awesome that you and your kiddos have been having such a wonderful summer! Just take a break and jump back in when you can (That's why it's called Pokey Peas! ) Besides, how could we kick you out? Your mom is the ring leader!!!

Kelly-I had my one and only bikini when I was 3! It was green with frogs on it. I am with Angie! I order online and even wear the swim shorts for more coverage. It's not just that I wouldn't wear half the suits if they were free, but other people would pay me not to wear them!!!!

Jana-I must say I think you are working too hard! Also, are you the creature whisperer? Why are all these unseemly creatures attracted to you?

Anne-I am sorry your new position is requiring so much more time! Maybe things will calm down eventually.

Well, here are a couple of layouts I have done in the past week or so:
This one is for a challenge in which we had to use 7+ arrows and 3+ diamonds. It was a bit tough!
Creatures Everywhere!

Horseplay

Here's a couple that I missed posting here at 2Peas when I actually did them:
Sugar Rush
Father's Day Breakfast

Been there, done that--have the layout!

Hi all! Just finished an epic post and what happened? Lost my post. AGAIN. I never learn. lol Here's my 2nd attempt to post...

Angie - I know what you mean. I'm only able to pop in once every 1-2 weeks. It sure does feel overwhelming to get caught up on the thread and leave praise for everyone. But honestly, I'm just happy to see your face on this thread (btw - cute profile pic!).

Cindy & Nylene - dh and I love 5 Guys! Apparently, dh likes to go there for lunch once in awhile without me. Did you know you can order on your phone? He likes to do that and then ride his bike to pick up the order. Who knew?

Debi - So sorry you got cropped out of the contest. But good for you that you entered the contest and got that far!

Kelly - did you get some rain this weekend? We did. I wish it had rained a little harder so my car could have got a washing.

I did manage to get a layout or two done this weekend:

breakfast burrito

It's about the breakfast burrito dh and I ate yesterday.

Ok, have a great rest of your weekend and hope you all have a wonderful week! I'm off to finish laundry.

The weekend is winding down

I had a fairly productive weekend. Not as much completed scrapbooking pages as I wanted to get done. But with my pen tool not functioning appropriately on my new Pazzles I was unable to do the title work required for my pages. So I had to switch gears and I did a lot of work on my website. I still have a long ways to go but I am at least getting the structure set up (I think) the way I want it. If you are ever bored and can't sleep one night stop on by and take a look at it www.tripswithtwo.com. It is a place for me to post all my scrapbooking and eventually all my photos as well for friends and family to enjoy. I also use it for a place for me to put stuff that I am passionate about.

Bandit did well at class today. Now off to get ready for my Sunday night Pazzles class. Have a wonderful evening everyone.

Happy Monday! I had a quiet weekend and just relaxed with the hubby. Today started off a little stressful when my dh went to his car and the side window was busted! Not sure how it happened but he had someone come out and fix it here. I thought that was a great idea. Within an hour it was all done and back to normal. Geez!

My art journal has been fun. Here are some pics of how I did it and some of the painting I have done. On the sunlight pages, I did journal on top afterwards. The other pages turned out so spacious with the blue sky and the green grass. I did journal on that one. Donna Downey really inspired that design, too. I just love this "in the moment" painting. Feels good in my soul.

Mixed Media Journal

Nylene- Congrats to your dgd and her upcoming trip. How cool is that?! I know she will have a great time and I know you all will miss her. Have many of your children and grands have trips like this?

Annie- Good to see my other So Cali friend here. Yes, this heat, rain, humidity and mixed of it all has been weird but I am staying cool. I thought it was so fun that you scrapped about your fav foods. That burrito place looks like they make some great, hearty food. Yummy!

Cindy- How is the bike doing?

Hope all you ladies are doing well. Take care!

Hey Peas! I hope all is well. I am writing a quick note as I check in as I sit here in a motel room with the DH & grands! We brought them to PA to visit for a couple days. They are having a ball so far. They can't wait to try out the pool tomorrow morning! They were very excited to spend the night in a motel especially with a pool indoors. I will try to update you as we go.

Kelly-I am doing much better on the bike-getting used to going slow and not wobbling! LOL I found out you can get a battery operated motor for your bike so when you get tired you can push a button and go and give your legs a rest!!!!! Can you believe it!!!!!

Talk to you later!

Kelly, I had to get me a new a/c. Their was too much wrong with my old one to repair it. I got my first bill since getting a more efficient unit and have saved $30 from last year.

Nylene, a quarter inch isn't very big! I filled in one hole underneath my cabinet and thought that would do it. This is the first sighting in 1 1/2 years. I will have to check the other wires going to various stuff and make sure they don't have any holes.

Amy, I wish some of these creatures weren't attracted to my house! My sister had a mouse a couple of days ago. She only has a dog. My youngest niece (she is 16) was telling me the story. I guess they were both up and it kept running around the laundry room.

I got my refinancing completed yesterday. I am happy how it has went and glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. I picked up my youngest niece and took her to lunch. Then we came back to my house and we did Dance Central on the Xbox. It was a fun afternoon!

I woke up this morning and heard barking that sounded like it was outside my back door. Phoebe started barking too. I looked and my neighbors dogs were in my yard. The fence in-between us isn't in good condition and their is a gap. I bought a piece of wood and tied it to the fence where the gap is. Her bigger dog knows how to get around it! I was glad the dogs had tags so I could call her. We meet at the fence to get her dogs back through.

I am planning to make bug repellent lotion bars and went to the health food store to get some of the herbs. One of them was catnip! I get home and put it on the counter forgetting about it. Then I was in my bedroom and heard a commotion. I came into my kitchen and my bag was on the floor and Felix was rolling all over it! The catnip bag was still intact though so I put it in a safe place. Felix is a character!!

I have to work tonight so I am ready to get some sleep! I hope everyone is doing good and talk to you soon!

Good morning!

I think I will try my hand at some of the CHA challenges. Might be fun.

Cindy - can you tell me again how you get the various badges into the signature line?

Kelly - Love your art journal.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Happy CHA everyone! I hope to be at the chats and check out some of the new products. Will you all be participating?

Thanks for all the cheers for my art journal. I have had so much fun playing with ideas and the colors. Mixing the colors has been fun too.

Here is the mini album card I made for my MIL's birthday. It turned out so pretty and she loved it.

Cindy- What a fun trip for the kids. I hope you all get lots of pics. Enjoy!

Jana- Thank God for your new money saving a/c! That sounds great.

Maribeth- How is you little puppy doing in the classes? Any scrapbook pages coming soon about this journey?

Hello

Kelly - I do have some photos of Bandit printed and hope to get some pages done soon. I think I need some doggie embelles however. Not really photographing his training journey, a bit to stressful as it is, and to try to add me taking photos might just push my hubby over the top. I saw you on the CHA threads. I am having a blast.

Sorry to just dash by, but I'm exhausted after Cubs today. I'll try to drop by tomorrow. I have to get all my scrap stuff ready to take to a cabin for our Card Club retreat. I'm not too excited about going...especially when I found out 3 of the women are bringing their children. I love children, but I was looking for a reprieve.

Looks like I'll miss CHA contests, etc. I hope you each get a chance to earn a badge.

Be back later.

-Nylene
