I'm thinking about selling my Silhouette SD. I haven't used it in about 8 months. (In my house if you don't use/wear something in 6 months-you sell/donate it).
Because my computer area is upstairs and my scraproom is in the basement, it's just not useful for me. I have a Slice, which I do use at times.
What do you think--sell it or keep it? How much should I ask for it, if I sell it?

Do you feel like you are missing out by not using it? Are you okay not using it? Do you feel like your layouts/projects are okay with out the use of it? If yes, I'd sell it. I never invested in one, because like you I have the slice, cricut and other devices and I never pull them out to use. I was going to jump on the Silhouette bandwagon but knew in my heart that I would never use it. I have found my style and my way of scrapping and going on the computer, downloading, setting up, manuevering, and everything else that comes with the use of some of these devices just doesn't appeal to me. I am a prepackaged embellie, thicker, die-cut kinda girl and I'm okay with that.

I would sell it. I am not sure what you should ask for it because I have no idea how much one costs! I would probably say a little bit below the best sale price that a new one goes for. So, as an example, if the MSRP is $300 but you can get a new one on sale for $200 I would probably not pay more than about $180 for a used one.

I sold my original SIL this year for $60. The new Portrait goes for around $150, so maybe $75 for yours?

I sold my SD recently for $60. I had it for a little higher for a while, no interest, someone offered me $60 and I took it. Especially since I have a Cameo now and I love and use it.

Have you looked in the Silhouette store lately? There are some really great designs! But I get it; I also get rid of things I haven't used in 6 months.
I sold my SD on craigslist about a year ago so I could upgrade to the Cameo. I got $150 for it but that was before the portrait was out. I think $75 is a fair price. (But I vote to keep it! )

This thread has me drooling. I want a silhouette! (especially for $60)
If you don't use it, then sell it. If you think you would use it if it were closer then see if there is something you could do to make it easier (like making cuts before hand). Just make sure it's not something you'll regret selling. If you really are okay with letting it go, then by all means, put it for sale between $60-$75.

Force yourself to use it. Download some fonts onto an SD card and try it out.
You will either decide its not worth the hassle or you will ask yourself why you didn't do it sooner. Either way, you will have your answer as to how usable it is for you.

I'm a big believer in getting rid of things that don't get used. But, the problem with selling an SD is that you definitely won't get much for it now. It's really an amazing machine.... Try using it with a memory card before giving it up.

Sell it to someone who will use it. $50 or $60 seems fair, especially since you may have to ship it.
