Does anyone else feel like they have a LOT of LOs about food? I was just thinking about LOs I want to make soon and have made recently, and so many of them have to do with food! Favorite meals/recipes, restaurants we go to on vacation, grilling with friends in the summer, bars we frequent, new dishes or foods we try, funny things my SO said when we went out for ice cream, how we drink our coffee, and I am sure I am overlooking some. I don't have a dedicated recipe album, but my annual albums increasingly seem to involve food.

I wonder if it has anything to do with being a kidless scrapper? I know Kelly Purkey seems to have a lot of blog posts and Project Life pages involving food. Maybe we go out to eat more or spend more time thinking about meals and such than people who have families and are trying to juggle kids who are picky eaters, numerous schedules, etc. Or because I don't have all those kid pics to scrap I am recording more of this type of stuff.

I'd be interested to here other people's perspectives on this. Do you have a lot of these types of LOs?

I do lots of food layouts.
We are 'empty-nesters' and we travel a lot as well. I love taking photos of what we are eating and drinking, especially when it is a local dish (photos of souvlaki and baklava in Athens) or when it is different from out normal experience (when we found out that Starbucks is almost non-existent in Scandinavia, but discovered a lovely Danish coffee store chain, where we proceeded to have coffee at least twice a day when we were in Copenhagen.

After I posted this, I went to check Kelly's blog, and apparently there was a Paperclipping Roundtable episode about documenting food recently! Clearly, I missed that one. I'll have to listen to it later, but I guess this is a sign that I am not the only one thinking about food LOs. There are so many new food-themed products on the market now, like Jillibean Soup Fresh Vegetable soup, Cosmo Cricket TV Dinner, and Farmhouse line I recently saw, and stamp sets from various designers and manufacturers.

I take a lot of pictures of food. It doesn't argue or put its hand over its face. I love looking at pictures of food too. I enjoy cooking and eating at new places so the layouts and pictures document me well. It's part of my everyday life and dinner especially is different everyday.

I take a lot of food pictures. I think the Food Network has turned regular people into foodies who appreciate a beautifully plated dish.

Also, food doesn't complain when you take its picture or think it has a double chin or looks fat.
Food lets you turn it around to get the best light.
Food doesn't say Cheeeeeese!!!

I have some food layouts too...usually favorites or new places that we try on vacation. I, too, initially got inspired by Kelly Purkey! We do have a child so sometimes it is him and the good together.

I love that people are including these types of layouts. It's fun!

I have 5 kids and I take ALOT of pics of food! I like to make it cute and fun for them! I don't do too many LO's of the food, but I'm in the process of making a "smash book"type album for all my fun food pics! Being a stay at home mom, I take lots of snacks to the schools and the kids always like it when I bring something fun. Plus all the birthdays! I plan to print them all 3x4 and then do a little journaling about why/when/who I made it for!

I don't usually take pics of food unless I need or want a small pic for project life. I may take pics around the good, like dd baking, the boys grilling, but not really just of the food.

I do like taking pictures of food, especially now that I'm doing PL. Before I started that I was still taking the pics but didn't really do anything with them.

For me, food is important for a few reasons. A lot of times you'll have special meals to celebrate/commemorate something. If you put time/thought/effort into planning the meal, why not document it? Once the food is eaten, it's gone.

My husband LOVES to cook and is pretty darn good at it so I like to get pictures of him cooking and what he creates. Also if we go out to a special meal, the food is part of the experience/memory.

All the cooking shows say that "you eat with your eyes first." Again, thought is put into the presentation so why not snap a picture and preserve that memory?

I take lots of food pics, too. My DH complains that I always get a picture of him putting the fork in his mouth!

I scrap a lot about food, A LOT! We are kidless so we have the luxury for now.
We are also foodies, so we do enjoy everything about eating, trying new places, cocktails, fancy desserts. And DH is into cooking as well, he loves trying new recipes and he also bakes. So obviously I want to document all that.

I'm starting PL mid-July and I have a feeling it will mostly be photos of food, drinks, work, cat, and occasional random activities. lol.

I have a gazillion food pics! It's a huge part of our life, so I think that's why I'm always coming up with food pics. Whether we eat at home, out, at friend's house...you name it. Our closest friends even get into it, and sometimes make funny/silly poses, but it just adds to the fun of our time together! My husband loves to do crazy stuff, like let a piece of squid hang out of his mouth. Which, yes!, I know sounds gross! No one, trust me on this, NO ONE has his sense of humor, lol. But mostly, he's very patient and knows not to touch things until the photo is taken .
I'm not 'hard' about it. He & the people closest to us just know that I'm documenting our life, and I think they appreciate that. Yes even adults like to see themselves in pictures sometimes, lol. Whenever they are over, they always want to see my album, and they look for themselves! Funny!
But for me, it's our life, and food is a big part of it.
You should listen to the PaperClipping episode...'the girl with the giant camera'. I enjoyed it.
For the record though, mostly I use my iPhone. Easier and more discreet. I've never had anyone ask me not to photograph food. In fact, at our favorite restaurant, even the owners are happy to let us take pictures!
