that's something i really struggled with until this past year. i just have to remind myself that it's much prettier on a layout than as a whole sheet!

I still struggle with that. I need to get over it because I have so much pretty paper and more is being made all the time!

seems harder to cut into 12x12" paper than 6x6" if you need just a small strip or punched shape....that's why I love 6"x6".

Not anymore. I have made a declaration in 2013 that I buy it and use it. There is always more where that came from.

|Posted: 7/1/2013 9:43:59 PM|I have this problem with ALL of my scrap supplies!!
I have been better this year though. I just use and try not to think about it!!
|Posted: 7/1/2013 10:22:56 PM|Yes, and I typically buy two sheets of those... One to keep, and one to use I have an Iris container where I keep a bunch of stuff that's just 'perfect' and I use it almost like a mood board - I'll go through it and be reminded of colours or patterns that I like... I suppose with Pinterest I could stop doing this, but the Iris box is only half full and I've got everything in there from scrapbook paper to clothing tags and business cards...
I try to be really ruthless about what makes it into that box though... My back up for papers that I'm in love with but that aren't 'box worthy', is to use them in as whole a piece as possible... I'll put together a LO where I stick everything together separate from that special piece, and then attach that to the piece with a couple staples or only one line of adhesive... Somehow it helps if I think I could remove all the stuff and have that piece back if I ever wanted it...LOL

I tell myself that's why after I create the albums I have to visit them frequently vs letting them sit closed on a shelf - to relive the memories AND visit with the supplies I used, lol.

I used to be really bad about this but I'm doing a lot better cutting into and using all those pretty papers. I still struggle sometimes when I use one up and get the urge to by another sheet to have 'just in case'.
|Posted: 7/2/2013 12:52:31 AM|
I used to be bad about that as well but then as time passed and I didn't use it, newer fresher paper kept making it's way into my stash and the old special paper became old and I didn't want to use it as badly. Use it or lose it (like in the donation pile as a previous poster mentioned).

|Posted: 7/2/2013 10:57:20 AM|I used to do that!
But, one day it dawned on me that I had all this beautiful paper sitting in my expedits and not in my albums.
If they're in my Expedit, I'm not looking at and enjoying it.
When they're in my albums I can see them looking even prettier on a layout
And it reduces my stash

I have definitely had the tendency before! However the last time I created kits I made it my goal to match them up with my new papers. I scrapped these kits this past weekend at a treat and LOVED the pages I made more than usual! It made me realize that I need to cut and not hoard! I have gotten better however about using older paper as I have made kits out of them (I used to buy stacks or loose, not collections), and its easier to use it when it's matched up.
Using the papers I love and seeing how much I still have left after I finish a layout made me realize that I don't really NEED every new paper that comes out and I love, as the chance of me using it before it goes on sale/clearance is slim. Now I'm trying to only buy new papers that are different from what I have (happy camper of the mid-release) so I actually use it. I figure I can pick it up when it's on sale and pay less while still getting the papers I want.

But there are some sheets I'm probably not gonna cut

I use to have trouble cutting into a pretty pattern, but no more. I have so much paper and if I keep the pretty pieces, that stash will continue to grow.

That is my worst thing ever. I can't ever pick paper because I love it all, but I have to just tell myself there will also be more pretty paper out there so I have been using it.

|Posted: 7/3/2013 6:48:36 PM|I used to be really really bad about that.
I've managed to get over that particular issue and now that I am mostly kit-scrapping I am trying to get myself used to the idea that it is ok to not use every single little scrap of the paper. I'm finding it rather difficult to convince myself that it really is ok to let those pieces live in my scrap basket so I can move on to cutting up more paper, lol

I used to do this but too often what I loved once a couple years later is not my fave anymore so I am forcing myself to use it now, otherwise it just becomes a waste of money!

|Posted: 7/3/2013 8:58:20 PM|I have definitely had this problem! Some of the papers are just so gorgeous that I am tempted to frame them(which I have )
I like it when the paper is availabe at a not too far away store so I can get another if i so desire. All in all I try not to be too fanatic about it....
