I was working on this last night, turned my envelope to the backside and I had done it upside down.

So I will be starting from scratch today .

Oh, Pug! Your choice, but I would not start over. The upside down back sounds wonderful & nicely quirky. The front & back of my envie have lettle in common, but I like both.

Thanx for voting with me, April!

Got to thinking about this & there's no 'correct' way to flip an envelope. We're used to flipping it left/right, but... Nothing incorrect in flipping it top & bottom.

Hmmm... 'Flipping' might make a fun challenge sometime.

I pulled out some stamps that I hadn't used in ages and just went with it. Who knows...maybe I'll be able to get another one mailed too.
Tons of fun, Daniel. Great idea!

It's been a stormy day here so I've been working on my little envelope. Now we are under a flash flood warning

Thanx, Angie. Got a chuckle over your BF's 'Paris mail' comment. That stamp does look real, doesn't it.

Here's my mail art. I didn't go overboard explaining since it's pretty straight-forward in construction. I did do some minor masking on the front.

The 'white' areas are where I erased our addresses.

I started out with a composition in mind, but then I just let it go where it wanted.

As I shared with 'Ruby' (via PM), her envelope flew out of my mailbox & into my hands today.

To say that Ruby's front is wonderful is insufficient praise. And her backside is pretty good, too!

(Get your minds out of the gutter! I'm talking about her envelope art!)

As I run my fingertips over its surface, I think I detect a bit of waxy finish. Might could be Michelle broke out the crayons.

Up to Michelle to name her project, but my name for it is 'birdbrain'. Trust me! That's a compliment. You'll understand when you see it.

Mine is nothing like Daniel's or Ruby's. DeeDee don't worry about what everyone else does, just do what you want. I must be getting old and senile because my envie could actually be considered cute. Argggh!! What's happened to me?

Happy to see so many are enjoying this swap--even with 'flubs' (no such thing!).

Tammy. When we do project swaps, each maker puts their project in their personal gallery once their swapmate has acknowledged its arrival (keeps it a surprise for them). The originator then links their project to the swap thread so we can all ooh & aah, ask questions & such.

Got my decorated envie from DeeDee. When I first saw it in the mail box, it looked like it was made out of tree bark or something. It's a handmade square envelope that was entirely stamped with a woodgrain stamp and embossed, I think. DeeDee must have done some masking for the space with the addresses and the bottom where it says handstamp.

There's a little owl in the space for my address, so it looks like there's a hole in the tree where the owl is sitting. Very cute.

DeeDee also enclosed a little crocheted doily, several small striped bags and a necklace. Did you make the necklace by stamping on the aluminum?

Thanks for everything DeeDee. No, your envelope doesn't look like Daniel's or Ruby's, but you made the envelope, decorated it with hand stamping and I like it, so all is good. Please post it in your gallery with the how you made it info and link it to this thread.

WTG, DeeDee! Can't wait to see the actual piece! Beady did a great job of whetting my appetite with her description.

An LOL 'warning' to all who honor me by joining any of my swaps... Using inspiration from a fellow swapper is fine, but... The resulting project had better be 100% you or I will be sending you a package of wet noodles. I have ways of getting your shipping address!

Kathy, glad you liked the envelope. I did make it and it is embossed with clear embossing powder. I masked off the spots for the word Handstamped, my address and Kathys. I stamped an owl and some leaves/vines around the masked areas. I used copics to color in the leaves and parts of the owl. Used stickles on top. I punched out two circles and used my cropadile to punch holes and set the eyelets on the circles to the back of envelope and flap. I wrapped twine around the circles for closure. I did hand stamp the aluminum disc for the necklace. I love making stamped pieces of jewerly for my family and friends.-----I know how to post in my gallery. But, just realized I cant from my Phone. It takes adobe flash player and I cant get that on my iPhone. Edit+++ I downloaded my photos to my laptop and was able to post to my gallery but I dont know how to post a link.

I received my envelope today from Jan aka Far North! It's beautiful and so is the card inside. I especially love the artist stamp on the front. She used a few different technics. Jan also included some beautiful marbleized looking butterfly's she punch. I can't wait to hear the technique she used on them! Thanks again!

Hey all. I received my envelope from LeighAnn this weekend. It is beautiful!!

Mine is off to Far North today. My teen so loved the idea that she wanted to do one side, so one side is me, the other side is her.

LeighAnn... funny... you and I used some of the same stamps on our envelopes, hehehe

LOL, Kathy! Funny? Yeah. And a little spooky. I love it when we do challenges/swaps & someone says, "I have that stamp!"--especially when the stamp is an older image.
