|Posted: 7/4/2013 9:02:40 PM|I have a TON (thousands I'm sure) of loose die cuts, ones from my cameo, sb collections. PL kits, printable's, etc. and I'm having a super hard time trying to organize and find a good way to store them! I can't have anything else on my desk top there's ZERO room. I thought about storing them in my top drawer or my desk but I don't know the drawer would be big enough for them all and I don't want to have them in ten different places.
My goal is to keep them all together somewhere some how.. I thought about using those plastic jewelry organizers that I use for veneers and sequins but the compartments are too small for most die cuts.. And I don't really have room for the big 12x12 plastic containers.. Anyways anyone have any really good ideas on how to store tons and tons of die cuts??? Thanks peas!!
|Posted: 7/4/2013 9:41:08 PM|I have always had mine in different vintage bowls and those little square boxes they always have in the dollar spot at Target.
Then, more recently, I have the diecut packs that I am working with currently a lot, in some small plastic bowls in different colors. I put each one in a different bowl, cut the name off the pack and tape it to the edge of the bowl. It's not very "organized" but I tend to be a digger, so this is working for me right now.
I also stack the bowls up, which I know will freak some people out because something could get bent. But, I just glue those down and say I'm doing it Wilna style!

What about photo or plastic storage boxes? I use them for a lot of different things. At least you can stack them.

Lol.. Love it!!
I thought about using those photo boxes I think that they are the perfect size for all my die cuts. I even have about 10 of them already but again the issue with no desk space!! Ugh it drives me crazy! I love my older vintage desk with all the drawers but I'm seriously considering getting a new BIG ikea desk and using that one for my vanity! I'm a visual person if its not right in front for me to see I won't use it.. I had to get a pegboard for that same reason I hate it lol.. I never can remember to just open a stupid drawer
right now I have my die cuts in those square aqua colored boxes from the Martha Stewart collection at staples..I also have the 3 desk organizers and the 2 drawers on my desk. I use those boxes (about 6) and stack them up on each other and push it off to the side but there always in my way and drives me nuts, I also have a bunch of die cuts in my desk drawer and because they are there I never use them! Ugh, I would like to kick my self for being such a picky pain in the a$$ when it comes to well... EVERYTHING!!! I think ill try the photo boxes and find a nice spot for them, atleast for now! Thx

I use the 3 drawer cubes from Ms. I have two cubes and each drawer is a color.
I use small baskets/containers on the inside to keep things grouped by type.
I have a photo in my gallery of my set up but I don't think I show the inside of the drawers.

Thanks for sharing these ideas, as I am also looking for die cut storage that better suits the way I work. At the moment I have them all in a small basket, Shimelle style. As I'm very much a 'colour' scrapbooker, this isn't working for me and I'm looking to change. Over here in New Zealand we don't have the same stores as in the USA, so if you have pictures of the storage items you've mentioned, that would be very helpful!

I use binders with page protectors. Many are in divided page protectors so I can just flip through and see what I have. Same with stickers. Kind of like the old PSB binders.

I put mine in page protectors in a regular 8.5x11 binder too. For the little ones I do the baseball card sleeves, bigger ones I put in regular size.

Mine are stored by theme in Generations folders with my other embellishments. The folders are in a basket on my floor.

I use the Martha Stewart 8.5x5.5 binders with her pocket page protectors. She also has 8.5x11 size products but I like the smaller size.

I have some stored in the old PSB sticker binder in the divided pages. Others (ones I use often and take to crops) are stored in those little 4x6 photo books that are so cheap and easy to find. Some of them hold 100 pictures so they can hold a lot of dicuts and are easy to store.
