Coin Envelope Mini Album Swap

This will be a partner swap. Each participant will create a coin envelope mini album, accordion style, like the ones here:

Here is a tutorial for putting together the coin envelope mini album:

tutorial

Expectations:
Each participant will create a mini album for their partner and mail it directly to them. Once partners are assigned, please take some time to get to know her. Find out what theme your partner would like to receive. There is no specific theme to this swap, so you can make a mini with any theme: birthday, summer, beach, Halloween, Christmas, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Each album needs to have a minimum of 8 coin envelope inserts inside the chipboard cover. The coin envelopes can either be store bought or made by you. They can either have a closing flap or not. That is up to you. If you do not have a coin envelope to trace or a die to use, here is a link to a template:

coin envelope template

The coin envelopes should measure 3.5 inches high x 2.5 inches wide to fit into the chipboard cover in the tutorial above.

Materials:
Please use more current papers/embellishments and not something you have been storing in your craft room and are trying to get rid of. Use a good quality adhesive and nice, thick cardstock. Each coin envelope should have one tag inside that is embellished at least two times PLUS a ribbon or other tab to use to pull it out of the pocket. The ribbon or tab does NOT count as an embellishment. The front cover should also be embellished at least 3 times. Please do your best work and post pictures because we all like to see what others make.

Due Date:
Mini albums should be in your partners hands by September 30, 2013. This is NOT a postmark by date. Please be respectful of this date as there should be plenty of time to purchase materials, make the book, and mail it before the end of September.

Please check in on this thread at least once a week. If you are not posting and do not respond to peamails, I reserve the right to drop you from the swap, possibly list you as a flaker, and angel your spot. So, please keep in contact with your partner and with all of us on the thread as well.

Shipping delivery number is REQUIRED! Please post your delivery/tracking number to this thread. It has been brought to my attention that the delivery/tracking number is included with 1st class and priority mail with no extra charge. Please keep your receipt so that you can post that number. Thanks!!

All participants - please PM me your name & address. Thank you!!!

I will keep this swap open until July 31 and will post partners on August 1st.

I would like 3 spots, if it's not too much trouble. Grant's twin best friends unexpectedly lost their dad a couple weeks ago, so I'd like two father/son themed, and one just a modern/bright theme!

I think that Silhouette has a die cut set for the envelopes and flap closure. I will try looking it up tomorrow.

By the way, I just read through the entire thread to make sure I have it all straight and wanted to point out that the post office no longer charges for tracking. When you mail something first class package, flat rate or priority, they automatically add a tracking number and it prints on the receipt starting with the number 9. Not everyone knows that. No more filling out those awful green forms. So, it's important to keep your receipt because it has the tracking number that you will need to post to the board.

Thanks for the information on the postage/tracking numbers. I guess it has been awhile since I have mailed anything!

I updated the OP to reflect this.

I would be interested. couple questions, you don't decorate the envelopes you just decorate the tags that go inside and the cover?

Hi
Happy to answer any questions!

you don't decorate the envelopes you just decorate the tags that go inside and the cover?

This is correct. The envelopes will all end up being attached together and there will not be any room to decorate them. Just the tags need embellishments and the front cover.

how are we deciding what kind of mini to make

Once partners are assigned, you can message your partner and discuss the theme you would like them to make for you. You can do this right on this thread or by pea mail.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I'll wait to hear from cr8beauty and crycket to confirm they want to join. I hope you do!!

That sounds great I have 2 boys so lots of boy stuff here.

I would actually like a Halloween themed one. In normal bright Halloween colors - nothing vintage. If that works, let me know because I can come up with something else

Hi Joan-Anne! I just replied to your pmail. We really don't experience Fall here in Louisiana and I never really have pictures to do Fall layouts except for Halloween. I would love something black, white, grey and yellow.

Also, for Christmas/Winter, would you like me to lean towards Vintage? Or Modern? Thanks for letting me know!
