|Posted: 7/24/2013 10:11:57 AM|Well, here's my first layout post ever. It took me a few hours to complete, since I've got a torn rotator cuff.
I was really anxious to use some new stuff from 2peas.
Also, this is my first time using washi tape on a layout.
This will be going into our Disney-project life album
I may be off from work for quite a while, so I may as well try to do a few pages !

Welcome to the world of one-armed scrapbooking. I broke my hand trwo weeks ago, in a cast for six weeks. Left hand, and I'm left-handed. So far I've figured out I can do most anything except cut wiht a sicssors, and my writing is crappy.l Guess it's typed journaling for me for a while! Wish I was off work...no such luck!

Sorry about your injury.

|Posted: 7/24/2013 12:28:58 PM|I was just thinking about how hard it would be to scrap with only one arm yesterday. My kids were playing the "Would you rather" game and the question was, would you rather have a foot cut off or a hand cut off. I chose foot, so I wouldn't have any issues scrapbooking!
Good luck and I hope you heal quickly!

Thanks for sharing this! I am looking at having surgery to repair my arthritic thumb and scrapping was one thing I was worried about. Glad to know it's doable!

Lynette, I hope your hand heals soon, I'm glad you're making it through being injured and can scrap too.
People may not remember what you said or did, but they will always remember how you made them feel.

Ooh, sorry about your injury; it sounds painful. Glad you were still able to scrap. I've been dealing with a fractured left elbow for the past week and a half, so I'll be happy to join you in the one-armed scrapping endeavor!
My cast just came off on Monday and now I'm only using a sling, but still don't have full movement. Even though I'm right-handed, I haven't tried scrapping since the injury. Last week I took a lot of time off work, but was in too much pain to do anything. This week I'm back to full time with work so I haven't had time. I have to take frequent breaks so that I don't stress the arm. Looking forward to some scrap time this weekend, even if it's just a little.
Here's hoping you have a speedy recovery!
Update: found your LO - very cute! Love the greens!

Beth -- I had that surgery! I was back to two-handed scrapping in two months - one-handed scrapping & stamping within two weeks. My advice is to:
A. Practice doing EVERYTHING one-handed -- everything.
B. Buy some fiskars soft touch scissors. I think that's the right name. The scissors that have a spring loaded handle - worth their weight in gold when you have bad hands..
Good luck. I hope your outcome is as good as mine - I'm so happy I had my hand repaired.
|Posted: 7/26/2013 4:36:25 AM|can i join the one-armed party?
I dislocated my elbow 4 weeks ago & whilst I am no longer in a cast I have very limited movement & there are things I can't do ...
I'm sure I could get used to doing things one handed eventually, but when you are used to being 2 handed it's tough! I found that I need 2 hands for my paper trimmer, inking is really hard when you can't hold the thing you want to ink and the ink pad ...
Mine is my right elbow - I'm right handed, so even scissors are difficult as I cut out left handed like a 4 year old!
I have managed bits of PL but "proper" scrapping has to wait - I couldn't even make a friend's birthday card
HUGE wishes for speedy recovery to all involved ...
