Am considering joining but have a question. I've made these before, but doesn't covering the slide box make the slide in and out hard? Can the match boxes be painted on the inside instead? Or am I just reading that wrong?

I just covered the box top & bottom AND sides with one continue small scrape of paper. I left the ends open. I think the natural color is just fine.I kind of thought about(still might so it)gluing a bead or tiny skull or button of some sort to look kinda a "drawer knob"? I would like to use the box to put a treat or a note in as part of my count down. So wrapping completely would be no good.

Ashjoy, you don't need to cover the slide part (the inner part) - only the box itself. HTH

That does, I thought I was reading to much into "cover the entire box".
Ill take a spot, any number is fine.

Hi All:

Would the person who has #3 be willing to switch with me. I had # in the vintage group and mine are all made and ready to be shipped out on Saturday.

So my #3 is already glued down.

Thanks,
Neysa

I finished mine and used a vintage pumpkin image with the letters Boo. I used orange as the background cardstock color. It should mix nicely with the traditional.

Thanks,
Neysa

neyw - I am ok with switching numbers. I haven't had a chance to start thinking about mine yet so it's not a problem.

And checking in!

Thanks so much Christa. I really appreciate it. Mine will be mailed out to Becky on Saturday. Checking in. Have a great week ladies.

FYI- I went to Walmart and they did not have the matchboxes. I ended up getting mine at the Dollar Tree if that helps anyone still on the hunt for matchboxes.

What should I do for the 2-3 embellishments. I stickled his eyes and added a little pink chalk for his cheeks. Any other suggestions?

I am going to try and find some little number stamps or maybe print them off using a fun font.

ETA: I did this the wrong way. It should be horizontal/landscape....starting over....don't do yours this way!!!

R.

ETA: Maybe I missed this and I apologize if so, but Becky you stated the boxes are to be decorated diagonally (thats corner to corner), I have seen two completed now and one is horizontal and the other vertical, so now I"m confused. HELP!!!! Lol, please. Mine are done and they are horizontal. I'm hoping I did good, lol.

Thanks
R.

Oooh great tip about Dollar Store. I'll have to send my girlfriend there for me. Have a full weekend home of trying new meds so hopefully I can get the creative bug.

Very cute so far. Shilo love Frankenstein.

Curious regarding orientation too before I begin.

Oh crap maybe I did mine the wrong way....I only have about 12 done, so I can fix them if I did. I thought I was reading the rules so clearly

ETA: I did them wrong, just went back and read the thread..they should be landscape/horizontal. Ugh, starting over, don't think I can make Frankie look good Horizontal....at least I did not get them all done.

I was just rereading the rules as well to make sure I have things straight before I start.

Shiloh, Frankie might work the other way, but you might have to use a smaller nose punch.

HORIZONTAL is what I meant to say (aka diagonal aka Landscape) LOL I have changed the wording in the OP. Sorry... didn't mean to confuse anyone!

As far as what to do with the matches... I have no idea! LOL I bought 62 boxes cuz I was in 2 groups. That's a lot of matches

jci for me and mrsumberger. She has been so busy with her three little ones (5, 14 month and 3 month old) that I am making her spot for her. I am almost done with it too. I got my spot fixed completely changed it, but I like how it turned out. I will post a pic of both later.
