Birth control, not included.

Just wondering how common or uncommon it is ...

My husband, three brothers, stepfather and father don't take anything. That's it for my immediate circle. My kids don't either but I'm guessing you're asking about adults.

I don't. I take after my mother, who is 85 and until this year (thyroid medication) has never taken any prescription medication. I don't even like to take vitamins.

No one in our family (me, DH, two DDs) takes any prescription pills. I do take OTC Claritin and Zantac for chronic hives every day - both of those would have been prescription over a decade ago, I guess. DH takes glucosamine for his joints.

ETA: My sister's house, on the other hand, looks like a pharmacy. Three kids with CF, one with Asperger's and ADHD, BIL has severe acid reflux and some other digestive issues, and my sister has prescriptions for blood pressure, cholesterol, anxiety and some other stuff. They keep it all out on the kitchen counter and there are literally dozens of little bottles!

Me, DH and 3kids do not take anything. It's probably more common amongst people I know to not take anything than to take something.

No meds here either. I have a pretty boring health history. When I do go to the dr they ask and ask and I tell them nope I don't take a thing.

I'm 44 and DH is 49, and neither of us take any prescription meds.

I occasionally take Advil for a headache, and Pepto for a stomach ache. That's about all the medication I use unless I'm sick.

My dad is 85, takes no pills and is in perfect health. He's the only person besides myself I know that doesn't take any prescriptions.

I do think its rare, especially for his age.

I'm 44 and take nothing, not even vitamins. The nurse at my doctor's office says I'm an easy patient because I take no medicines, have no problems, and rarely have questions to ask.

I've been taking Synthroid since I was 16. I wouldn't say it makes me unhealthy. I just have a defective thyroid.

In our family I could list more people that don't then do. My grandmother is 87 and also takes Synthroid. There are a few family members that have prescriptions for high blood pressure or high cholesterol too.

I don't and my husband doesn't. None of my four boys do either. My mom only recently has had to take any prescription meds, but she is 87 years old now so she made it a long way without any.

I guess this isn't something I would want people to see if they came over. I do understand the convenience factor, tho.

Neither DH nor I do, and I do not take birth control either. Nothing. We also don't take vitamins.

We do occasionally take an over the counter allergy pill, or an aspirin, but that's it.

I also have plenty of co-workers who take nothing. Most of us are of the similar vein. We don't really go to the doctor and we don't really get sick. So no need for drugs.

A lot of my co-workers are very "anti drugs" of any kind. Several won't even take an aspirin. These are usually people who have overcome addiction, or have family members who struggle and they don't want to go down that path.

Happy now?

Dh is 50 and takes nothing. I'm 48 and I'm on a small dose of Synthroid for a sluggish thyroid. That's it.

I will be 49 this year and have just started taking medication for my thyroid about 4 months ago. It has been very difficult to get myself into the habit of taking it every day. I am hoping that it gets easier to remember because it will be a forever deal.

We don't take any. My dh is 48, I'm 44, the kids are teens. I don't even take birth control.

Occasionally we will take an over the counter allergy med, antacid, or a motrin. We also don't run to the dr for antibiotics every time we get sick.

We are bad about taking vitamins. None of us take vitamins regularly except our son because he doesn't eat many fruits or vegetables. He also takes a chewable fiber gummy because he doesn't eat many fruits/vegetables.

We are thankful to God that He has blesseed us with good health at this time. Both my dh and I have 3 siblings a piece and they all take prescription meds.

I also thank God that we live in a time and country where rx's are available when we do need them.
