Bookmarks Challenge by Theresa

The object of this challenge is to use the layouts that you've been adding to your Bookmarks. You know that you liked them, but how often do you remember to use them as inspiration to make your own?

Already August, wow, where did summer go!?! For this challenge, go to the 8th page of your bookmarks and use the 8th layout to create a layout featuring something from your Summer or maybe a "school starting already" layout. You don't have to totally lift the layout from your Bookmarks, let any part of it inspire you; use it as a sketch or just the colors or the theme, let the layout decide! You'll be amazed what it will do on its own.

A very important part of this challenge is that you should send a message to the Pea that inspired you. It will brighten their day! Also, add a link to their LO in the information section or the comment section. Please be very specific about identifying that you lifted that Pea, we don't want to have any hurt feelings by not giving credit where credit is due.

Digital Challenge by Debi I have 2 topics I'd like you to scrap about...
1) Admit your happy month-do a page on any theme but have your journaling note what makes you happy about it. (For digi-use a mask, for paper-use a shape other than rectangle or square for your photo.
2) For the second half of the month, for those who like to "bargain hunt" be it thrift shop or new, do a page on one of your finds. Use bits and pieces on your page (paper scrappers use lots of scraps).

Just because I dabble in digi doesn't mean you have to. Paper, Hybrid and Digital projects welcome.

Sketch Challenges by Toni

I really like Liz Chidester's sketches. Here are two of them.Enjoy.

Everyone is welcome to participate...link all your projects (whether they fit a challenge or not) to the Chatty Scrappers link when uploading. Have a great August.

If you'd like to submit a challenge please send me a peamail outlining it and I'll add it to our list. Thanks.

Debi, love your challenge ideas. I'll try to do both!

Woke up freezing this morning, literally chattering teeth and everything. Randy didn't get home til almost 4 a.m. so he's still sleeping. I got up and came into the living room and turned that air off in here anyway. Crazy weather, who would think that on the first of August I'd be wrapped in a blanket!

He has to go back to work at 1 today so I'll have to be quiet til he wakes up. Will get in the scrap room and try and finish getting stuff from the guest room out of my area. No, haven't finished the guest room but since my hand still hurts I'm waiting on that last wall.

Good morning, Debi sorry I forgot to send you a challenge this month, I even had it ready to send.

If it's ok I'll do it when I get home today.

The wedding was gorgeous, the bride looked stunning. My cousin well, he was just there in a daze just staring at her, it was too cute.
My cousins Ferny and Rosy, who's dad passed, went to the church ceremony, and to the reception just for a little while, but they got married at the same church and the reception at the same place that Rosy got married, so she left right away, just could not handle it and is understandable. Ferny left after the toast and dinner. The rest of us had a great time, in my uncles honor, that is what he would of wanted.

Daniel starts work on Monday at the hospital doing the IT and school on August 19th. Monica and Natalie also go back to school August 19th. YAY and a tear!! I have to start getting up at 6:00am.. arg!!! I still have not bought anything for back to school, i'm horrible, thank God they both have uniforms.

Well hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Debi, thank you for the thread and thanks to you and Theresa for the challenges.

Diana, I'm glad the wedding was nice, even with the undertone of sadness for your Uncle's family. Nice to see your smiling face. Sounds like you have things under control and that you'll have everyone back in school in a couple of weeks.

I have finished 2 layouts,(stayed up way too late last night)but have only scanned one. It fits Debi's challenge of using your finds. I walked into Archiver's one day and they were giving BIG packets of Simple Stories paper for $1.99 to the first 50 shoppers. Since my DD was with me, we each bought one and she gave me hers. She's a digi scrapper. So this is the first time I've pulled that bundle out and I made this layout with it.

Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails

I know this challenge was supposed to be for the last half of the month, but I'd better do it when the mojo hits me and I have the time.

Looking forward to seeing what you all create this month.

so we're getting a bumpy start. I added Toni's sketch challenges and will add Diana's challenge later. If you have a challenge you'd like me to add, just send it my way.

Reading through all the unusual August celebrations there are a few that would be fun and "unusual" page ideas...any one else find one that grabbed their attention?

THERESA our weather has taken a sudden downturn in temp (dropping around 15-20 degrees) which though not horrible seems suddenly cold for August when we usually have a highest temps. Weather is very fickle these days.

Everyone is moving slow today...I suspect because it feels so good to stay snuggled in bed with the cooler temps outside...also it's rather gray looking instead of sunny and that always make it harder to get up.

Hoping to get to looking at my laptop today so I can scrap again.

Have a great day and have some Raspberry Crème pie...or something raspberry today.

Made some potato soup for lunch and took some to Aunt Joyce. She's having a pretty good day (figure it's the cooler temp). She and Charlie power washed their driveway today, you'd think she solved world hunger how proud she was of it, LOL. Made me go out and oohh and aaahh over every little bit. Did realize how nasty my car was while I was out there (road construction) so came home and washed it. Also found some spray for Mites so I used it around the house, hopefully it'll kill out whatever has been biting me.

Debi, I'll be using the National Golf Month for sure! Our annual golf tournament is this weekend. I'd like to follow the National Simplify your life IRL! Maybe it'll give me an urge to get some stuff done!

Debi, I can do something with National S'mores Day. Our cubs are doing outdoor cooking this month and will fix their own dinner and top it off with s'mores. I love seeing all the fun days and weeks. Thanks for sharing this.

Happy Friday!

Debi - those 'special' days just crack me up - "put a zucchini on your neighbour's porch?' Who comes up with these things? The 9th is National Women's Day here and a public holiday, so it's a long-weekend for us. I think I'll combine that with your Booklover's Day, lol.

Monica - Hi there! (waving like mad)

Diana - So glad things went well at the wedding and the sadness was balanced by the happiness. Put a big smile on my face thinking of the groom standing there dumb-struck.

I put my back out yesterday. Took muscle relaxers last night but had to get a diclofenac injection here at work today just to keep going. I'm going to try to see a physio tomorrow, but I work till 1 and I think they are closed by then. Heinrich will just have to play masseuse.

We have a beautiful sunny day here; not winter at all - I think your summer got a bit lost and ended up here. Not complaining. A break from the rain is great and I even got some blankets washed and dried yesterday. Sun is going to stick around till Sunday, so maybe I'll finally get my car washed too.

Good morning all!

Glad to see you back where you belong Miss Monica!

Michelle hurray for a good weather day in your winter but boo for throwing your back out. Hope you have a good heating pad. Heck, take one off the shelf there at work and use it if you can.

Baked a Simply Southern Pecan Praline cake for the funeral of an elderly lady from our church and had the worst time! Cracked an egg shell into the batter, forgot to add the icing before mixing and pouring into the bundt pan. Re-mixed (still worrying about eggshell pieces) and poured back into the pan without regreasing the pan. My oven is cooking too fast so I had to watch it close. Came out, stuck big time to the pan, tore the top clean off. Was going to bake another one but I think I'm just going to the local store and buying some sugar free dessert and being done with it! I'm sure some diabetic at the reception will be happy.

We're leaving for Lexington when Randy gets home from work today. Golf tournament is tomorrow. Coming back home tomorrow night. Had thrown around staying another night but think Randy needs to get some rest and J and Kate (more her than him) are probably tired of us by now.

hi ladies!
Sorry I haven't been around. Just too much going on in my life right now.

Wanted to share with you some challenges for the weekend, though. We have been doing these "recipes" in Young Scrappers a lot. They are a fun way to stretch your creativity. Basically, you just follow the "recipe" one step at a time, and make sure to include everything on your layout!

Recipe:
-----------
(1) 1-3 photos
(2) cardstock background
(3) 3 sheets of patterned paper, cut into strips.
(4) Add something hard and something soft.
(5) Add something flat and something dimensional.
(6) Add something matte & something shiny.
(7) Quote/lyric/book title for the title.
(8) Add either journaling or at least the date.

some hints:
For steps 4-6, get creative! It doesn't have to be all embellishments. Matte could mean a mist or stamping or washi tape. Anything with a matte surface. Something soft could be ribbon, sewing, a soft embellishment, etc.

For the patterned paper strips, you can cut as many strips as you want as long as it's from the 3 patterns and as long as they are strips.

And then here are a few other challenges I had given the YSers. Pick one or all!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1) Use a non-scrapbook Pinterest piece for your starting off point. For example, fashion, an art piece, home decor, nature, etc.

(2) Scrap a page about YOU!

(3) Water: as a theme, in a technique, an embellishment, or patterned paper

(4) Use 3 different mediums on your project. Some examples: paint, rubons, mist, inking, stamping, diecutting, glitter, stickles/dimensional paint, embossing, gelatos, copics, resist, sewing, hand stitching, doodling, etc.

(5) Use all the same number/amount of items on your page. For example: 3 papers, 3 buttons, 3 stamped images or 5 ribbons, 5 photos, 5 enamel dots, 5 staples.

Hi, Monica! So nice to see your smiling face. Thanks for all the great challenge ideas. Come by often.

Theresa, sorry about your cake. That's something I would do. Good luck on the tournament tomorrow. Have a safe trip and take good care of that Mr. Nice Guy!

Michelle, my back empathizes with you. So sorry you are hurting. I have to be so careful. Even carrying a clothes basket of heavy levis up from the washroom can do me in. Gets worse as I age!

Debi, I'll redo the checkbox and add in the other challenges and include those Monica listed.

Toni, you must take some of my mojo. It's driving me crazy. I want to scrap every second and my house looks it. I have a meeting here Sunday, so I have to get things done today and tomorrow....but I'd rather scrap!

Here's my latest...doesn't fit any Chatty Scrapper challenges, but I'll do one the next time.

My Mother's Hands

This is about as close as I get to scrapping myself. Maybe I need to add a challenge to scrap a photo of yourself to the August thread.

hi Nylene! It's good to see you, too

Theresa - haha, who says you can't scrap with a messy desktop?

So I have a little shameless plug. Studio Calico has a video contest with a prize of a $500 gift card. I don't know what got into me, but I made a video and submitted it I know I don't really have a chance of winning because some people have well over 100 votes already, but if ya feel like voting for me, go right ahead! hehe.

Ok who had an ice cream sandwich yesterday? Me? Nope but I did have some tiramisu cake...

Today, watermelon and mustard...sounds like a Picnic of BBQ hotdogs and watermelon may be on our agenda if the weather clears up as predicted...looking possible as I peek out the window, the sky does seem to be clearing and there isn't any rain currently although the deck is wet from earlier showers. As long as it's dry I can BBQ, right?

The weekend is here, how many of you are in your scrap rooms?

Debi, DH and I splurged and blew our diets and had a Fat Boy ice cream yesterday. Just couldn't let that day go by, and we've been pretty faithful at staying away from those things.

Theresa, I hope you guys are winning the tourney!

Monica, you look so cute in your new profile photo. I tried to vote for you but I'm not on Facebook. Sorry. DH and I are probably the last hold-outs in America who haven't joined Facebook, but we don't need another computer addiction.2peas and pinterest already take too much of my time. Good luck to you.

Here is my latest layout. Theresa, it's a scraplift of a layout from my bookmarks, but isn't the assigned one. I will do that one too this month.

Junior Fireman

This is one of my 2 redheaded grandsons. We certainly got our share of the redheads. 5 out of 13 grandchildren.

Have a nice weekend everyone. Hope the weather cooperates for each of you.

Hey ladies! Happy Saturday!!!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day. It started out gloomy here, but ended up being really pretty. We had fun this afternoon sitting out back watching a small fox playing in our backyard...it was so cute!

I got a little scrapping done last night and started a couple of other projects this morning. I bought some gesso and have now made a bunch of stuff with it, I did up several masked backgrounds for later use and used one of them for Monica's recipe challenge...it makes great clouds.

Anywho, here are the LO's that I got done:

Always be best friends

You are special

I believe the light... - this one is for Monica's recipe challenge, it was fun.

happy Saturday!
Nothing really going on around here. I have been bored out of my mind the last couple of weeks! Even losing my mojo with scrapbooking somewhat.

Debi- I have some watermelon in the fridge. Can't bbq, though, because we ran out of propane. Boo!

Nylene- Thanks! I needed a new profile pic. And thanks for trying to vote - I had a few people tell me they had to allow the app permissions & blah blah blah. I hate that they put requirements like that on voting.

Tina- Ooo I have really been wanting to try gesso, but I decided I want to get modeling paste first, to start out with. I heard it gives more of a dimensional look than gesso, and you can use it with stencils. Love how you recipe page turned out - thanks for playing!

Evening peeps, we're home. Totally worn out. Had a great day. The temperature was wonderful, high of 75. Rain held off. I didn't play that good but was able to contribute to the team effort. We ended up 2 or 3 under par, sounds good til you hear that the winning team was 18 under par. Yes, 18 less than what the regular score would be for an 18 hole game. They had one guy that actually is a golf pro at a golf course, a definite ringer. We think they cheated too, they were in front of us. Of course, could be that they didn't need to use any of the 3 other guys shots and that was why they took extra turns, wasn't using their shots anyway.

Kate played this year instead of Randy's Dad. (Randy's Dad bowed out because the last few years it's been so hot and he said he just wasn't up to the trip anymore--he's 86.) Kate doesn't like golf so we had to talk her into playing. She did putt several good shots though so she contributed even though she rarely hit the ball other than to putt, works for us, we're terrible putters. Made Jeremy very happy to have her there and we all had a good time. We all also enjoyed the congratulations on the new addition that we got everywhere.

Headed to bed, just wanted to check in. We're going to church tomorrow morning and believe it or not Randy wants to go play golf (he hasn't got to play with his Dad in two weeks).

I'm still here! Hello all. Can't believe it is August already. The motorcycles are roaring past on their way to the Sturgis Bike Rally. Not exactly a good time for us in the store. No where to take anything extra on a bike. More are towing, but still not that busy. Cool here too. I pulled an extra blanket up last night too. Saving on the bill for air conditioning though so that is nice.
Better get to bed, but wanted to say hi and check out the new thread.

THERESA nice of Kate tojoin in. Glad you had lovely temps for playing.

MELANIE glad to see you. Wondered how you were doing. How's business this year?

I took my laptop completely apart...all the way down to the motherboard. You don't want to know how many screws there are. I cleaned my fan and put the computer back together (albeit the screws) and so far so good. If it doesn't overheat in a couple days I'll go and add the screws back in...but now it's just being held together with a song and a prayer. At least it's working and I was able to scrap a page for todays "National Friendship Day"

Police Picnic

have a great day. The sun is back here. YAY!

Hi ladies,

I been a little busy, cleaning and helping Stan prepare dinner for Natalie's Godfathers birthday. Thankfully everyone is gone now.

Michelle...Hope your back is doing better.

Had another gorgeous day today, wow, who would have ever imagined 75 degrees on the 4th of August!

Played golf with Randy and his Dad. His Dad is really slowing down. Told Randy he may need to just plan on 9 holes in games with him from now on. Randy was upset after we dropped him off because he left the score card on the golf cart. I asked why because the scores really weren't that great and I didn't see any reason to keep them (although I did hit some great drives--even hit past the hole with one drive on a Par 3). He said he likes to keep the score cards because he realizes that any day it could be the last game he'll ever play with him and he wants the card. Made me sad. His Dad is 86, be 87 in December. Overall he's in pretty good shape though but he really has slowed down in the last 6 months.

Debi, hope the computer make over works.

Diana, are you saying you are having a birthday party for Natalies Godfather or are you planning a Godfather themed birthday party for Natalie? With you I'm never sure, LOL.

Melanie, good to "see ya" and I bet you are getting some interesting characters coming through there if they're on their way to the Sturgis festival.

Think I'm headed to bed soon. I'm worn out. My sister picked up the old bed I had in the guest room so I hope to be able to get in there this week and finish cleaning it out. Still have that one wall to paint too. I figure over 1/2 the stuff on the three bookshelf wall will go to the goodwill or trash. I really am going to purge--I am, quit laughing!!!

Praised to here.

Good morning, girls...

Nylene - Keep those pages coming, girl, they're precious Enjoy all the mojo you can while you can. Although I've done some scrappin', I've not done nearly what I used to...sigh.

Tina - yeah for using Gesso. I really like how it makes paint blend in better. I've also used the modeling paste, but I'm afraid I need more practice with it, LOL. So glad to see more of your delightful pages.

Monica - Hey, girl. Good to see you here. Thanks for the recipe challenge. I hope things are coming along well for you.

Theresa - Has Randy fully recovered? I'm glad you all are getting to have some time with Jeremy and Kate. How is Kate feeling?

Debi - Love all those dates and different ideas. Last month I wanted to do the blueberry one and didn't get around to it ... sigh. I might squeeze it in a month late or so, LOL. There are a couple of really cute ideas you can get from these though. Thanks for listing them. I really need to print them off

Michelle - Hope you're doing ok. Check in soon.

Melanie - So good to see you. Do stop in soon and stay in touch.

Well, girls, today is back to school...it's just 5th grade registration, and it's a half day, but still...and then work tonight
at J's.

Anyway...I've become an instant Grandma...yeah, I'll tell you all about it later. Right now I've got to get ready for work.

See you all later.

Morning. I took Nyquil last night to aide in these aching bones so this morning I've got a Nyquil hangover--dragging.

Toni, I take it Megan's new boyfriend's child is the new grandchild? Kate is doing fine. She still gets a little nauseated at even the thought of some foods but other than that, no illness at all.

Saw a small cabinet that a consignment store posted on their FB page yesterday that I thought would work for us so I went over to their store this morning. Boy did I luck out! I found the cabinet (which looks great in my kitchen), a small end table like magazine rack for the guest room, a small toy box for J's nursery, a couple of dog dishes, the Willow Tree Maternity figurine AND the full Willow Tree Nativity set--still in the box. Got it all for $70. Admit that I bought the nativity set for Kate too but found out she got it for a wedding present (I forgot), SO I get to keep it for myself, whoo hoo!!! I've always wanted one but wouldn't pay $100 for it. Tried to get them on sale after Christmas but never found one. I'm quite pumped if you can't tell, LOL. Now come birthday time at the end of November, I can put out a list of extra pieces for gift suggestions that family can buy to go with it.

Hi- I thought I posted this last week but maybe it got lost!

We had a great time at Family Camp! Our 3 yr old grandson was so happy to be in the sandbox and going to Kiddy Kamp ( like a small preschool)

We went to a beautiful wedding last evening at the SFZoo! It was figgy of course, but the bride was radiant!
We've been friends with the parents for 35 years, and we were at the hospital when both of their daughters were born.

Grooms uncle officiated- he's a rabbi in Seattle. We were outside for the ceremony- right at the zebra/ giraffe enclosure. We had drinks etc near the Lemur exhibit. They got pretty noisy a few times, playing and tousling, and they were amazing climbing in the very tall trees.

Take care everyone

Good morning all!

It's back to winter here - raining again. Now Sean can finally finish his rain meter project - it hasn't rained in a week, lol.

My back is still sore. I went to the physio yesterday and she loosened it a bit, but I have to go back on Thursday. Seems there is a nerve pinched on my T9, just below my bra-strap. It makes bending forward very painful. Did sleep better last night, even without painkillers, so something is working.

Kyle is home from school today. He woke up with a fever and barking cough. Heard him cough a few times during the night. Ugh, here we go. Just hope it's not croup. That's been doing the rounds here.

Theresa - congrats on all the great deals. Sounds like a fun store.

Monica - Lovely to see you here again. That recipe looks like fun to try. Saw the last while on FB you have been feeling very up-and-down. Things a bit more stable now?

Lindy - That wedding sounds scrap-worthy, lol. I can only imagine photos with animals in the background. Must have made for a very unique event.

Can't chat more; have stacks to do here at work this morning.

Have a great Tuesday!

Well THERESA looks like you scored big on your consignment shopping trip. Is there a page in the making?

LINDY I've never been to a zoo wedding...how creative. And I assume "figgy" really means foggy unless it's fruit bearing season and you have lots of figs dropping. LOL

MICHELLE nice to see you posting. Sorry you have one out sick already. Hope your back recovers quickly. Just as you get the rain again we got sun again..so we definitely are on opposite sides of the earth. Now if we can just stop the mosquitos from biting me...the last couple of days they've really decided to feast on me so I'm itching like crazy. Normally they don't bother me.

I did another LO...a bit of an oddity as it was for playing along witht he cropped contest on another site (I got cropped at round 3) but they are uin round5...down to only 4 scrappers. They mystey required items were 3 very different, very colorful but not matched patterned papers and a flair. I ended up recoloring the pprs to match but decided to make them dominant to keep the challenge interesting...too easy to minimize and hide behind clusters IMO.

Here is my page and the story of what happened yesterday.
What a Day!

And so far, my laptop is behaving itself so might be time to add the screws back in...LOL

Love that, made me literally LOL!

Lindy, I hope you took photos of the wedding (and the Zoo) sounds wonderful.

Michelle, sorry your back is still acting up. Those pinched nerves can take a while to relax. Still having trouble with the one in my hand and know how much it hurts. I can only imagine that having one pinched in the back would be like 100 times worse! Also sorry Kyle is sick. Hate it when kiddos aren't feeling well.

Debi, get some Listerine on a cotton ball to wipe on your mosquito bites. Takes the itch right out. Witch Hazel does too but it smells funky. Have actually found that Listerine is a great foot soak too. Take it, Epson Salt and water, dry skin just falls off and helps toe fungus I've heard too. Glad you got your laptop working,

Down key day planned for today. Randy found a recipe he wants me to try so I have to hit the store. Going to visit Joyce and may run by Austin's house to help him get his room back in shape before school starts tomorrow. Still not sure why my sister can't get him to clean his room but he does like for me to help. I kid you not, he hasn't cleaned it since we did it before his birthday at the end of June.

Supposed to rain off and on the rest of the week so outside activities are done. Have to get the rest of the guest room cleaned out and need to find my scraproom desk (it's still buried under crap from the guest room). Figure that will have to wait til tomorrow.

Took 20 minutes to check out at Wal-Mart! AARRGGHHH Of course I should have known better than to go the day before school starts. Did go by my sister's house but Austin's room was way worse than I thought. Told him I had too much to do here today to spend it cleaning his room. He has to start on it himself and I'll come back when it's not quite so bad OR I could go ahead and stay but we were going to get rid of a bunch of stuff because I didn't have time to put it all away. He decided I could come back.

Made a peach dessert, it was so easy and it smells so good! Here's the recipe:

WEIGHT WATCHERS EASY PEACH COBBLER

Ingredients
2 lb frozen peaches
1 box yellow cake mix
1 can diet 7up or sprite

Directions
Spread frozen peaches in Pam sprayed 13x9 pan.
Sprinkle dry cake mix over peaches.
Slowly pour 7up over cake mix.
Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees.
Uncover and bake for 40 minutes.
ENJOY!!

This is a Weight Watcher recipe. You can use any frozen fruit and any lemon lime diet soda. 4 pts. per serving

Also did a quick layout thanks to Megan Turnidge who gave away the template on her blog today.

My Star Austin (link there)

Haven't done any cleaning at all. I bought a battery powered weedeater/edge combo (Jeremy had one and I loved it), put it together and have the battery charging but other than that haven't done anything since I cam home. I am making a taco recipe that Randy found for dinner so I guess if you consider all the running this morning and the fact that I cooked I guess it's not been too lazy of a day.

Hi Theresa! You are not alone here in the wilderness!

My back is still quite stiff. Seems standing the whole day worsens it as it got progressively worse during the day yesterday. I think standing in front of the computer with my neck slightly bent puts pressure on those vertebrae.

I've just spent two hours sorting and filing paperwork and can, finally, find the top of my desk again. I'm busy packing away my scrappy stuff, but would rather be actually scrapping. It's just such a mess right now that I'm not feeling inspired, rather overwhelmed

Ruan's hockey match today got cancelled due to rain. Winter is back with a vengeance.

Sean just announced he needs to take hot chocolate to school tomorrow for his whole class... Why do kids feel they can tell you these things at 5pm when we have been home for the whole afternoon? Ugh. Really don't feel like shopping now. Maybe I can persuade Heinrich to pick up some on the way home...

Kyle doesn't have croup, thank goodness, just a cold. He had to go to work with me this morning but was charming everyone there, so it went really well.

Anyway, back to the sorting. I have a pile of cardstock and pp scraps I need to sort and put away. I find I'm using a lot these days.

THERESA I'm glad you keep the daily posting on the thread going...I've been a bit sketchy lately but I'm here.

KIM nice to see you and you may not be scrapping but looks like the weight loss is booming...way to go girl. Maybe some pages of that journey would be fun to make. Nothing as inspirational as re-making yourself.

MICHELLE Hope your back starts feeling better...it's so hard to do anything constructive when you hurt. As far as kids giving notice, I'd consider 5 pm the night before a good lead. My sons usually tell me right before we need to be somewhere (ie. telling me at 6:30 a.m. (they leave for school at 7:30) that they needed to dress up like Homer and Bart Simpson, or that they need to pack clothes for their week vacation at their dad's as he drives into the driveway to pick them up, or that they need to bring snacks for Japanese class party as we're getting into the car to head to school (Japanese is period 1)---we made it happen but geesh a little notice would be nice.

Not much happening here...going blueberry picking today I think.

Debi

I actually have been very productive today. Got the living room really clean including washing the windows/screens and even recaulked outside before 8 a.m. Finished cleaning the living room and fizzled.

They spotted a black bear in Central City this morning. For those with bears in their area it's the first one I've ever heard of being in this county. Seriously, first one ever. They think it may have gotten lost and is from Tennessee. It was seen in Daviess County a few weeks ago (North of us) so they're thinking it's trying to get back home. Someone took a photo in their yard not too far from my cousin Becky's house. She is so excited about the possibility of it coming there. She's an animal lover and I have no doubt she'd be silly enough to feed it. She's probably out in the yard right now putting out food (I called her to tell her I saw it on a news link, she doesn't get on the computer). Silly woman. I hope though if it does head her way she takes a photo from INSIDE the house.

Kim, so good to see you. You should come by more often. Ditto on the congrats on the weight loss. I know I've told you that already on FB but I'm sure you never hate to hear it.

Michelle, glad DS doesn't have the croup, hope he's better by morning. I'm with Debi, 5 p.m. isn't as last minute as Jeremy used to do to me. Granted he didn't do it too often because if it was the very last minute I told him "too bad, so sad, you outta luck chuck!" A few embarrassing episodes and he got a lot better about remembering deadlines. Yeah, I was a mean Mom, LOL.

Debi, don't forget the bug spray, happy picking! I love fresh blueberries.

Okay, headed to the den now. Once I can find the top of the desk I'm going to make Kate's birthday card. Would like to get it out in the mail today but her b-day's not til the 12th so tomorrow will work too.

Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiimmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

So nice to see your smiling face. You look wonderful! I'm proud of you. Are you back to school yet?

Theresa, I have a question about your dessert. You say can(s) of 7-up. Did you use more than one can? It looks delicious and I think we could eat it on our diet.

Michelle, I had to laugh about the hot chocolate. It think that's just the hazards of motherhood. I remember my kids telling me at 8:30 that they had to have xyz for school tomorrow...and it usually took 2 hours to make! Glad you don't have croup at your house. DS always had croup when he got sick. Scary stuff when they can't breathe! Hope the back continues to get better.

Debi, I don't envy you the berry picking, but I envy your enjoyment of the fruit. We are enjoying corn on the cob every day and I hate to see that season end.

We are up to our ears in 4-H projects, trying to get them finished before Monday. Quilts and skirts are done, but a lot of little things to finish on the other projects. I'll take photos on Friday and scrap them so you can see.

Waving to all. I'll post my last 2 pages when I get a minute to scan them.

Hey there Peas friends!!!

Life here is going just fine. We are fully back into the school routine. We still have a couple of weeks until Olivia leaves though. She's been busy trying to learn to cook. She goes to food.com and finds recipes to try on us....I'm probably losing weight from her cooking, which is a plus. Tonight she decided to do health chicken parmesan with fake pasta, low fat everything and gluten free breadcrumbs....strangely it was the best thing that she's made so far, her shrimp recipe was so bad that I almost got sick and we had to throw them all away. Actually, I think it's sweet that she is trying, she does the grocery shopping while i'm at work and fixes dinner at elast once a week.

Grif & Mal are starting out the school year just fine. They both seem pretty happy with their teachers, so all is well.

Kim - You look so very lovely! I read on FB that you've been doing yoga, I so want to learn that. I may try to hire someone to come to work to teach a bunch of us.

Michelle - I can never scrap if my scraproom is a mess, so I can relate. I always have to clean it up or have no mojo at all. I hope getting it in order makes you feel better. My kids are also famous for waiting to tell us that they have school stuff due until the night before, it s almost a joke this far into the third kid, we are used to it. I've gotten some great grades on my kids projects. It's always good to know that I can still ace 3rd grade English.

Well, I'm off to get Grif in bed...I'm a little behind. Take care ladies!!!

Tina

Tina, I had Jeremy cook one night a week for the year before he went to college. We had a lot of stromboli, LOL. I'm impressed that she's trying so many recipes. Tell her to go to Pinterest. I've made several really good meals from there. I actually have a huge recipe board pinned already.

Made all the calls for the niece and nephews to see how their first day went. Austin had a melt down and cried really bad going into school. Not good for a 4th grader. He was terrified that the teacher was going to be mean to him like the one last year was. His ticks came back big time and my sister said she almost didn't make him go in. Finally convinced him that the teacher wouldn't be mean and he went inside. He said the day was "okay" but I think it's going to take a while to convince him that it'll be really okay. None of his close friends are in his class so that doesn't help. Jackson said it was "good" but that's about all I got out of him other than teacher's names and one of those he couldn't remember. My nephew Andrew is a Senior and he said he had a great day. My niece Abby said she would survive, only had 184 more days to go, LOL.

Yep, "figgy" meant "foggy"
the friends asked us to not take pictures of the ceremony, to leave it up to the professional photographers.

This was a pretty religious ceremony, and the photographers were in the way too much.

So, I only got one or two pics at the reception, but the professionals did have their photos on view at the reception!! there was this digital frame thing with TONS of photos streaming.

So, I know I will get a chance to see them. As for posting them, I don't do that on facebook or two peas. But, the bride's facebook page is full of nice ones!

Pmail me if you want to know her name.I think that's ok, right?

Despite the fact that it got really hot (I think we were in the mid-upper 80's today (too hot for the bugs) we went blueberry picking. We came home with ~9 lbs of fresh blueberries each...not bad and oh they are tasty.

Had subways for lunch and then hit the lake for a couple hours. Came home and did a BBQ and finally company headed home, so I had some time to try and set up the computer a friend had given me. Tried to set it up before but because it has XP on it, I had to bring it downstairs and connect it directly to the router (no Wi-Fi). Dang that thing is bulky--a gaming desktop with nice graphics card. So now Noah is trying to download his minecraft files etc on it. It'll keep him busy for awhile.

I decide to head upstairs, put my feet up, catch up with the threads, watch my soap opera and take it easy. My bad knee is aching and my feet are tired from being on them all day, so this sounds like a good way to end the day. The dishes can wait til the morning.

Today is Trish's birthday (for the older Peas you'll remember she is the one that got me started on 2P's) so here is her card

Happy Birthday Trish (link there)

Didn't think I needed my Zyrtec so I stopped taking it a couple nights ago, big mistake. Horrendous headache this morning and believe it's sinus/allergy related. Took some short term allergy/sinus medicine and will start back on the Zyrtec tonight.

Hi everyone!

Just rushing by to say hi. Bought Nancy Damiano's Vacation Scrapping workshop yesterday on the sale, so I'm watching those videos tomorrow on my day off.

Back still tender. Physio gave me exercises to do but wants to see me again Monday. Looks like a long process.

Chat tomorrow!

It's really nice to see familiar friendly faces. I have done so little scrapping over the last year and a half or so. I miss it a lot. I am inviting my mojo to creep back in to visit with me in my oh so clean scrap room!
Thank you for the kind words. A mini is a nice idea, Debi. I would like to do that but I'm afraid I'd have to almost verbatim lift one of you talented mini-making Peas... I struggle with them so much! If anyone has made an easy one you think I could handle, please link me up!
Tina, yoga is wonderful. do try it. I've turned on my hubby to it and he is now teaching simple poses to my MIL to help her hip and back. I also love that your girlie Olivia cooks. I'm teaching Evan to cook, little by little. He's 12 now- almost a teen so he's at a good age to start learning how to be a man!
So catch me up please everyone! Like a quick summary of what's been going on with you? And how old everyone's kids/grands are? Man, we are getting old, aren't we!

Kim, I have really missed you. How are your boys? I'm sure they are really growing like weeds. I have a new grandson who is 9 months. He is a redhead and joins his two redheaded sisters. DH and I have been on diets too for over a year. Steve's lost too much, but I seem to be stuck at a 55 lb loss. I'm still working, just not as hard. Summer is hard for me. I do better in the winter when dieting.

Hi to all the other Chatty Scrappers! I'm checking in quickly. I have oodles to do before Roundtable tonight, but I posted this last night and didn't have time to add a link.

It's The Little Things

Be back later.
