Morning all! Month is almost over and Summer has finally arrived. Planned on getting to the store early this morning to avoid some of the heat but woke up with another sinus headache so I'm still in my pajamas. There is just so much humidity in the air that it's useless to do anything. I'd buy a dehumidifier if I thought it would help, but it would probably just burn itself out quickly. My blinds are dripping water this morning.

Found some of the newspaper articles about the accident that killed my Dad when I was redoing the guest room. Since Sunday will be the 35th anniversary of his death, I'm going to post them on FB as a memorial. I wasn't sure about doing it but my brother and sister think it would good to remind the county how dangerous it is to be on the fire department and how much the firemen and their family sacrifice to keep their homes safe. I was actually able to scan the very yellowed brittle articles yesterday and recreate them in PhotoShop in smaller versions so I could copy and print them for my brother and sister. I plan on using them for a scrapbook page, need to get the story out for the future generations.

Central City is having their Labor Day festivities and a friend's son's band (Kelsey Hart with The Boys of Broad--watch for that name, they're going far, Kelsey is possibly going to be on American Idol!) will be performing so if it's not just too nasty tonight I'm going to drive over to watch. May see if I can get a friend or two to go with me, Randy's working. If not, I'll go alone. I know enough people that I'm sure I can find someone to sit with.

Not getting anything done, sitting on my butt.

Happy Friday all.

I managed to get the garbage and yardwaste out and clean the kitchen this morning, other than that, nothing productive so far.

Debi, I went to the store, got sick from going into the freezing cold store and then the heat when I came out so I ended up sleeping all afternoon.

Found this funny link on another thread. Turn on your speakers and don't try to drink anything while you're watching: funny game show answers

YAY! 3 day weekend!! I plan to do a whole lot of nothing but scrapping. It is super hot here this weekend (got up to 100 degrees today, which does NOT include the heat index), and I really just don't feel like going out in it.

So I finished my training today. On Tuesday, I will start on the teller line - nervous & excited! The first day will mostly be observing them. Then I will be paired with someone and work together on the same drawer while they teach me things. And at the end of the week, I will do everything while they watch. It will be nice to have some real practice.

I'm a bit disappointed about school - in a nutshell, I won't be starting in September. I found out that my admissions rep was misleading me. I talked to someone else in admissions today and was told that I missed the deadline for September enrollment, even though my admissions rep had told me otherwise. That just means I have to wait until October to start, which is fine since I will be busy learning things at work still. Just frustrates me that the guy straight up lied to me

Have some projects to share (and I STILL have more to photograph/upload! whew!):

Hmm, so that's where all the heat went - round the planet to the USA...

We are having the coldest weather in Cape Town for 28 years. Table Mountain has a layer of snow in it. That just doesn't happen. It will snow on the mountain maybe once every 5 years, but it usually melts very quickly or isn't even thick enough to see. Yesterday it was white.

I'm not going to have much time to scrap this weekend. Working this morning then we are going to my Dad tonight. Heinrich and I are going out for dinner, leaving the kids with grandpa. We are all staying over there tonight, as he stays right on the other side of town, about 45min away. Ruan is going to see the snow with a friend today and then sleeping over there. Yeah, we do special trips of up to 2 hours driving to 'see the snow'; so we can play in it! Sending an old cellphone with him so he can take photos.

Monica - Glad the training is going well, but it's a bummer about the guy lying about the deadline. Very unprofessional. I admire you for carrying on studying. After 4 years I was DONE and can't imagine going back to it again.

Hope you all have a relaxing long weekend.

Morning all!

Didn't go to the concert after all. Everyone else had mowed their yard so I had to stay home and get it done. Yes, HAD TO. Can't be the only yard on the block that hasn't been mowed, I have an image to uphold. It's supposed to be hotter today (like Monica said, high 90's and heat index way over 100) so I knew it wouldn't be possible to get it done before it starts raining tonight. At least I hope it rains tonight. We need a heat break.

Michelle, I'm sure we'll have a ton of snow this winter. Farmers Almanac is calling for a really bad winter. With the crazy Spring/Summer we've had I don't doubt it.

Monica, hurray for a scrappy weekend! Bummer the guy lied to you at the school. Here, if you miss the Fall sign up you can't start til January. I wish I had the brain cells or desire to go back and get another degree.

Worked on the scraproom last night before the darn neighbor started mowing and I'm headed there now to finish it up. Have several layouts in mind. May or may not get them done but at least I have ideas so I can put them in the crop box for Friday night.

Don't forget to send TINA your challenges for September. Nylene is going to be out of town so I'm posting the check box. If you haven't signed up to host a challenge, think about hosting one anyway. We need some mojo!!!!

Praised up.

I worked hard and cleaned up my desk, whoo hoo. Found a place to store the Silhouette instead of just stacking it on top of my Cricut. Still have quite a few plastic tubs that are kind of modpodges of stuff but it looks much better and I'll be able to scrap.
