This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges on 2peas and is a fun place to come chat with other scrappers.

1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. Mark the box for Pokey Peas as you post your layout. Put a link to your layouts on this Pokey Peas Thread for August 2013. (If you don't know how to post a link, leave a note to me on the Pokey Peas Thread or peamail me and I will help you.)

2. This can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items.

3. Please leave praise for others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts.

4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or a dozen. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new Peas.

Please contact me with any questions.

NEW MEMBERS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!!!

Good morning ladies - Lets all have a great August.

Kelly - Thanks for sharing the blog post of your Art Journal, it is lovely, and you seem to be having a great time with this project and getting alot of joy from it - and isn't that what it is all about.

Debi - Your pictionary/charades games sounds great. I am going to try that the next time Hubby and I are camping. Kinda hard to play with just two, but we always seem to manage a way to put a spin on it just so we can have some fun.

I have lots of scrappy plans for this month. Using some of the unique holidays Debi posted at Chatty scrappers, and participating in the CADA challenge, and I have my Pazzles class Friday night and Saturday.

Gotta do some work now but hope to see you all a lot this month.

The link for July's Pokey Peas thread is here.
The link for all August layouts for this challenge is here.

Debi, your charades game sounds like a riot.
If you missed Debi's last post from the July thread, go to the above link and check it out.

I have been scrapping like crazy. Here's my first layout for August.
Snips & Snails & Puppy Dog Tails

I hope to see lots of Pokey Peas layouts this month.

Thanks for the new thread Nylene! I can't believe it is August already. I have had a strange day. I watched the sentencing of the man that kidnapped and tortured the three girls for 10 plus years. I must say justice has been served and those girls are strong, but need our prayers.

I printed several pics today to paper scrap. I have the kids so maybe I will scrap this evening.

Well I can't remember what I got on here to say so I will close and BBL! I hate these senior moments!

Hugs, Cindy

Maribeth, your Bandit is a beautiful dog. You are so sweet to take him in, give him a loving home, and teach him to be obedient. Hooray for you and your DH!

Cindy, I saw a little of that trial yesterday and couldn't stand to watch. I can't believe he thinks he did nothing wrong. Those poor girls. Makes you wonder how many others are being held and just haven't been rescued yet. Elizabeth Smart hit close to home here.

I am really on a roll. I can't stop scrapping. The house looks like it too! I need to take today to clean instead of scrap. We'll see.

Here's my latest. I never scrap about myself, so here's my best attempt.

My Mother's Hands

I hope August is treating you all well. Our weather, like yours, Debi, cooled for a few days but was terribly hot yesterday. This is Utah's hottest summer on record....but it's cool here in the scraproom!!

Good late morning.... It is raining, ugh

Thanks for the brand new thread Nylene... and August it is.

Well,I mowed and weed whacked yesterday,,in time... gloomy and showers today. This is surely a strange summer in my area.

I survived my Ruby visit with flying colors. She is such a good baby and we had lots of fun. She took a nice nap and when she did,I rested also.I did have to move a few household items up higher, she is just learning to reach and take things down. I used no.no and she responded well to that.... but it was just easier, lol.

Guess,it will be indoor activities today,I am trying to master a digital technique and almost have it figured out. I took pictures of these doves that were in the blue spruce in front the other day. One is pure white, the other sort of beige. Then this am I saw them in the lane. They are so pretty, hope they stay and raise a family.I may check out the photos and scrap them later,if they are good.

Cindy, you mentioned that trial, that is so saddening... I hope those young ladies and their families do well and have good lives. They appear very strong and I hope that continues for the long road they must journey down.

Well,I,m off to my vices and mayhem.... Soon come Pam

Nylene- that app is a free i-tunes app called "peek-a-boo-barn. Hope you can find it. p

Hi, Pam!
We must have been posting at the same time. Glad your Ruby visit was nice. Alex is alllll boy. Into everything, climbed up on my couch yesterday and took the ipad out of his sister's hand. He's into everything and I'm having a hard time child-proofing my house. He's so different from the girls who were quiet and easily entertained!

Can't wait to see your dove photos.

Hi all!

Nylene - I'm so glad to see all your layouts and that you've been busy creating layouts. Your comment about the state of your house reminded me of me. I was scrapping like crazy since Sunday. My friends and I got together for a mini crop. So I was able to complete almost 4 layouts! Yay! I'm going again tomorrow to a larger crop and it's much longer but not sure how long I will last. My back has been hurting and I have an appt next Friday. I decided to take a mental health day today.

Maribeth - Wow, sounds like you have some great inspiration. I'm looking forward to your creations! And Bandit is so cute! I just love animals.

Cindy - What happened to those girls is so tragic. It reminds me of the Jaycee Dugard story. Some folks are so depraved. It's frightening.

Pam - How exciting it would be if those doves raised a family! Our home seems to attract birds. We get hummingbirds, sparrows and owls. I sometimes see hawks too. Although I'm not a fan, the sparrows have made mud nests along the roof of our house. I'm hoping once they've vacated, we can take down the mud nests. Oh, and just the other night we saw raccoons on the wall dividing our house from our neighbors. We've NEVER seen raccoons in the 10 years we've lived here. Coyotes and possums, yes, but never raccoons. Crazy.

Here are my layouts I've been working on this month:

Thanks - see you all soon!

Nylene,Ruby loves to make noise and be rowdy, she bangs a lot of her toys to get you to react. Oh my,they are so cute!!

Anne, would love to see some owl photos, coyotes and whatever. We battle with raccoons as they love pulling down my bird feeders. Critters keep me busy...

Here's my less than good pic of the doves,so far I am seeing them each day. Hope to get a better shot soon., tfl

I'm reposting it for you so that you can get some comments from the Pokey Peas. It shows up, but there is no way to leave comments.

Happy Friday! I have had a pretty good week and looking forward to the weekend. I have been painting and experimenting in my art journal. So cool trying different things and seeing wha happpenings. This weekend I gotta finishing some cards I started for a wedding. They have been sitting on the back burner for a while but hope to get to them soon.

Pam- I wanted to send you some warm sun for your wedding anniversary. I can imagine it is still a tough day but I hope you can still feel the love and support of your dh. Plus, having Ruby with you must have made you feel so loved. She sounds like a sweet baby!

Maribeth- Enjoy your upcoming classes!

Cindy- You have had such a fun Summer with the dgc! I know they were so happy enjoying the trip. Plus you get to go back and pick peaches! That sounds yummy!

Nylene- Thanks for the new thread and the persistence on my blog. I am glad your dsil was around to get it all straight for you. Plus, you are on a roll making all these terrific layouts. Go Nylene!

Waving hello to you all! Have a good evening!

we had planned to spend the day by the lake watching the preliminaries of the hydroplane races but alas it is raining today (figures-first time all summer). We had hoped to go blueberry picking tomorrow but if the rain continues we will have to reschedule.

Missy, tell us a little about yourself.

I'm a wife and mother of 4, grandmother of 13 and a die-hard scrapper. I no longer work, but taught school and then managed a medical office for many years. I live in Utah and all but one of my children live close. Angie (who posts here occasionally) lives in CA, so that's a great place for us to travel.

Kelly, be sure to post a photo of your cards. Are you taking a DD art journal class, or are you just following her blog? You are doing a great job.

Debi, you need to get that computer going. I'm missing your digi layouts. Are you having withdrawal?

I finished another page tonight, but don't want to overload you in one day!! I've become a permanent fixture in my scraproom. I'll post it later.

Have a great weekend if I don't get back til Monday.

Yes, NYLENE, I'm in major withdrawal...very bored actually. Didn't realize how much scrapping fills in the long nights. But I'm happy to see you scrapping so much...please never feel you are overwhelming us with LOs...we can take it. In fact we like it. Keep them coming.

Wow! I can't believe it is August already! This year has definitely flown by. I have one week left at work then a week off before I start my new job. The kids go back to school in three weeks. It really feels like the summer has gone by so fast.

Nylene-As always, thanks for the new thread. I'm glad your scrapping weekend went well.

Debi-Happy Birthday late!

Pam-You have really made some beautiful layouts!

Pam - I wish I had some pictures of all the wildlife but they seem to allude me. It's hard to get a good photo. And the owls often come and sit on our chimney late at night.

Missy - Welcome! What a great layout. Love the bright colors.

Kelly - Looking forward to seeing your art journal entries and the cards for the wedding. I'm sure they are beautiful!

Debi - I'm sorry you got rained out. Hopefully, you can still go blueberry picking tomorrow. I haven't done that before but the thought of it makes my back ache. I'm presuming there's a lot of bending over?

Amy - Wow, you have been busy! I love all your layouts. They are beautiful! Keep them coming.

Good Saturday morning everyone!

Well I will be off to online Pazzles class in just a few minutes, but wanted to say thank you to all who have commented on my Bandit layout that I posted for the CADA challenge. Kelly - He is a good boy most of the time, but we think he may have been abused or neglected before he was dumped in our area. He has some socialization issue. With hubby and me he is great, he just wants to be loved on, petted, talked to, and boy does he love to have his belly rubbed. But with others he just does not really want to go near. We are working really hard with him so that he can have a good life.

Here is a my second try at a card, this was made in my Pazzles class last night.

My Second Card Ever

Have a great day everyone. Will try to check in later, praise pages and chat.

Happy Saturday to all of you girls!!

Well,I made a quick trip to the market, then made 2 loaves of zuchinni bread, hung out a load of clothes, had lunch, then rewarded myself by looking at all the lovely los and cards that you all have been busy making. Keep them coming!!

Woke up to rain, but now cleared, humid and sunny. My dgd Kait is buying a new car today,so she will be back soon to show it off. Her Mom said that it had more bells and whistles than you can count. She will be so proud.

I am still fine tuning the new laptop, and had to change e-mail address so needless to say that is time consuming. The laptop is so much faster and I love it. My old one had some miles on it and the processor was getting mighty slow along with the lack of hard drive space. So glad to get the upgrade.

Well,I have some more chores then I might scrap a page or two.Soon come Pam

ANNE the weather is still iffy but the accompanying participants even more so...LOL BLueberry picking has been rescheduled for next Wednesday. However there isn't a lot of bending over, blueberry plants are quite tall like raspberries and you can always lift the branches to get the berries hiding underneath so mostly you are standing normal. Now strawberry picking...that's another story although I've been known to sit on the ground and scoot along on my bum rather than bend over to pick.

AMY you are on a roll girl...what are you and NYLENE taking to have so much mojo these days?

PAM I'm on a different laptop at the moment, although not an upgrade. However I don't have any software loaded to scrap. Need to fix that or fix the other laptop...got to buy a hard drive enclosure kit so I can hook the hard drive up to the other laptop while I tinker with the old one. Always something isn't it? ANd technology WAS supposed to make our lives easier and give us more free time....LOL

Hoping to make up for the lack of doing anything yesterday by doing some projects around the house today. Wish me luck. ANNE that makes my back start hurting just thinking of it...way too many things to lift around here.

Waving "HI" to everyone

Wow, it's so fun to stop by and see so many of our Pokeys posting.

Amy, I always love ALL your layouts. I often find them on the challenge thread before you give us a link. I just can't get enough of your cute children.

Maribeth, you must be having fun with the Pazzles class. You are doing a great job. Hope you learn lots of new techniques.

Anne, it's so nice to see you. How is your back? Angie is fighting back issues right now too. I love seeing you on the stash busters thread too.
You have done some beautiful layouts!!

Pam, wish I could snitch a piece of zucchini bread. I don't like zucchini in any other form. You'll have to show us a photo of Kait's new car. Such a fun big purchase.

Kelly, I'm glad you have had a good week. I hope the weekend contains lots of craftiness for you. I'm waiting to see more artwork from you.

Jen, you have a 20-year-old son? You don't look old enough. Wish him happy birthday from us. What plans do you have for a redo on your scrap space?

Debi, any news on the computer? It makes me sad to know that you are not able to use it. I think it's a little like another arm for you. I am missing your layouts.

Cindy, hope you are busy with the grands and Bob. How much time does he spend at the farm in the summer?

Well, here's another page. This is Angie's little redhead.

Have a great weekend!

Hi ladies, just another quick jump on to post my latest Pazzles die cutting projects.

The first one is another card

My Third Card

And this one is a home decor item. The four flower embellishments were my idea to use up the cut out portion of the scalloped windows in the box.

Monogram Box

Okay, on a quick break from class have to go help hubby for a few and then back to class.

Hope you are all having a wonderful day.

NYLENE no update on the laptop yet...been researching costs of some diagnostic tools so I can fix it...trying to keep my costs down but yes I miss scrapping. Seems like ages since I made a page but really it's only been a little over a week. Thanks for worrying about me, but I'll live, I'm sure.

Good Morning Peas. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! Great to see everyone stopping by and chatting! I have been busy with the grands as usual, and yesterday I was scrapping! LOL I actually woke up at 5 this morning so I sat and did a digi page. Yesterday was a paper page!

Nylene - Bob is at the farm this weekend. He goes down every two weeks or so and stays for 4-5 days He has a few things planted down there but no garden to tend to. He has some blueberries and a few other things but the deer eat most of that.

Maribeth-you are doing a great job with your new die cutter. It looks very similar to the Silhouette Cameo.

Pam-Sounds like you are having a great time with the baby! I am also glad to see you scrapping again. You do keep yourself very busy-a good thing!

Amy-good to see you and your layouts! I just love looking at your kids expressions! They are too cute!

Kelly-I have not made a pie yet with the berries but I did make blueberry syrup for pancakes and it is really good on ice cream!
Bobby loves blueberries so I try to make things for him with them.

Jen-glad to see you are doing so well. I bet you feel a lot better. Hope your DS's birthday was a hit!

Here are the layouts I got done-maybe I will paper scrap another one today.

NYLENE I scrapped. I took my laptop completely apart, cleaned the fan and put it back together (well I haven't added any of the screws yet so it's only held together with hope and a prayer). I wanted to make sure the issue didn't reoccur and taking out all those screws is a pain.

SO I scrapped (done for a speedscrap)

Good Sunday to you!!

Well, I cleaned corn, cut mint back, made rolls, and then I had this technique to try. That's where it all went wrong. I didn't accomplish the technique but I did create a page. Sometimes you just got to go with the flow, lol.

Debi, hope you get your computer issues resolved... I am so glad that I upgraded, should have done it sooner.

Lovely day here,I was down in the gazebo earlier to clear some cob webs and enjoyed a sit. Oddly,it seems so like the beginning to fall, maybe it's the sounds and cool weather.

Well, back to the technique.... it's all in clear English but I am still missing a step... hmm.

Soon come pam captured bloom

I have been busy with work. Work has been insanely busy! I hate it when it is that busy as I feel like I am doing what I have to do and not really getting to know my patients. Hopefully, it will slow down this week.

I missed all the CHA fun. I was working all those days and just wasn't able to get on the computer. This upcoming weekend, I am heading to St. Louis for a weekend crop. It is also the last weekend for my oldest niece before heading out to college. I think my sister wants to do something but she hasn't really said yet. I might be coming home early on Sunday if she is.

I am at the Mudhouse (local coffee shop) and they are getting ready to close. My niece is texting me too. She has been hanging out with me but she had an outing with her youth group tonight. I hope to be able to check back again soon. I hope everyone is doing good!

Monday,Monday and sunny and quite cool.

Does everyone have a goal today? Mine is yard and garden but I really want to scrap or make a few cards.I should be cleaning from the looks of things!!

Not too much else happening, had to cut down a sand cherry due to it being completely dead. Several others suffered this year also. It was getting quite old for it's life-span so I guess it was time. They have the most beautiful blooms and scent in the spring,I almost always take a photo of them.

Well Kait, got the car and it is nice. She stopped by on Saturday and took me for a cruise. Her mother said that it was the 3rd car that she looked at and after the test drive with her dad,she told dd," I love it".She was busy Saturday eve, moving things from her old car to the new.

Cindy, have you been to the park lately, with fall coming,I hope that you can get some good foliage shots. Can you ride your bike to there or is it too far?

Knutschen, I remember being so frustrated when at work and it was too busy to bond with the patients. I always felt like I was letting them down and did not enjoy work at all then. My dd says they hardly ever replace anyone when they change jobs or move on, they just let those left behind pick up the slack. All my former co-workers tell me that it is so busy too, most of our staff worked 12 hr shifts so that is even harder.

Nylene, you have the cutest little red-headed gc,I think they are all so sweet in photos. Makes me want to reach into the photo and hug them.

Well enough rambling..... Soon come Pam

Jana, I hope you have a great time at your crop. We expect to see lots of layouts when you get home. Where is your niece going to school? Will she be far away from you? I'm sorry work is so busy. My nurse friend says the same thing you and Pam say about it getting so busy that she can't really bond with the patients. Glad you will have the weekend off.

Cindy, we have parachute cord all over the house. We made them for Cubs, then the girls wanted to do them for 4-H. Some of the Cubs have come back for a 2nd one and I taught the kids at the card club cabin trip how to make them. Such a fun project. Why didn't I take photos????

Pam, my bucket list includes a walk around your home and yard! I'd love to see your beautiful outdoors and the fun antiques inside. Thanks for posting so many photos, since I don't imagine I'll ever get there!

Debi, YOU SCRAPPED! Congrats on being brave enough to take the computer apart and work on it. Sounds like it may have fixed the problem. How long will you wait until you put the screws back in?

Anne, how's the back doing?

Maribeth, I hope you are still enjoying the Pazzles class. I'm sure you are learning a lot. You and Cindy will be the cutting experts!

I'm off to get things ready for Cubs tomorrow. I have another layout finished, but haven't scanned it yet. Later in the week probably.

So, a little bit about myself....

I've been married for 18 years and have 3 children. The boys are 15 and 14. My daughter is 7 and yes, Nylene she is a redhead. I saw you asked in a comment on her dance layout.
I have been attempting to scrapbook for 3 years now but only seriously for about a year. There is a running joke with my local scrappin friends that I am the "lazy scrapper"; give me paper, a sticker, and a picture and call it good. I'm just now learning "Techniques" and "trendy" things, if that makes sense?
I have chatted on the Swap Chat Board on here a lot but never really came to the "General" board until a few weeks ago and that's when I stumbled upon you ladies and this thread and thought I would join. Thanks for welcoming me in your group and for all the comments. I was a little overwhelmed by all of them when I logged on this morning. They were much appreciated.

PAM your gardens looks amazing...wanna come to my house and do my yard...it's a challenge, believe me.

JANA I didn't do CHA either. It's crazy how little time doctors and nurses have to connect with their patients. Always makes me a bit angry that I don't really have time with my doctor and yet they charge an arm and a leg to see him.

NYLENE you should have taken photos...I'd love to see what you're talking about and how to make the survival bracelets...you have so many interesting projects. Definitely can tell you once were a teacher.

MISSY welcome...and lazy or not, any completed page is a victory. As long as you like your page then there are no rules about having to use certain materials or techniques.

As for me, I'm a single mom of twin 14 year old boys. I'm one of the few who scraps digitally and may be the only one who is 100% digital. I have a closet full of paper supplies but I just don't have a good space to have all of it out so a laptop and a software program works for me. So maybe I'm a "lazy" scrapper too...LOL

I did another LO...a bit of an oddity as it was for playing along witht he cropped contest on another site (I got cropped at round 3) but they are uin round5...down to only 4 scrappers. They mystey required items were 3 very different, very colorful but not matched patterned papers and a flair. I ended up recoloring the pprs to match but decided to make them dominant to keep the challenge interesting...too easy to minimize and hide behind clusters IMO.

Here is my page and the story of what happened yesterday.
What a Day!

And so far, my laptop is behaving itself so might be time to add the screws back in...LOL

Morning and sunny from Ohio

Hopefully, the weather is on a warming trend... so says the weather man.

Nylene and Debi thanks for the compliments about my flowers. They bring me so many happy feelings and a lot of work. I have cut way back from years passed.... just getting too old and lazy to care for that much stuff. Right now, things are a little soggy and sun starved, not to mention that it has been a very cool season. Oh well, there is always next year.

Laundry today since the sun and breeze are here.... then I am still working on techniques..... I did have an aha moment while thinking about one last pm,so I need to see if I have solved it. Sounds like a puzzle doesn't it?

Hello to the newbie,my name is Pam,I am a retired R.N.,widowed,mother of 4,grandmother to 5 and greatgrandmother to 3. I started as a traditional scrapper many years ago, then migrated to digital. I am solely digital now except for paper scrapping cards. I got started on digital seriously when my late dh was sick... I could sit by his bedside and scrap when he rested. I love it and only crave more skills. I use PSE11 and print 12X12 either at home or online. Then I use WRM keeper binders for albums. Works for me! Welcome to pokey peas and I am looking forward to seeing your creations.

Anne, hope your back is better.. that's no fun and puts a damper on everything. I was cutting back herbs this past week and wonder how your stuff is doing. My thyme patches were looking a little fizzled due to the weather. I bring some in for the winter and pamper those.

Well, I need to hang the clothes before the sun changes it's mind.

Soon come Pam

Hey ladies! I hope your day has been good so far. We have had nice weather and I am enjoying it. I have been having my own personal arts & crafts days lately. Yes, I am still loving my art journaling and trying new things. I will share soon.

Also, I finished some cards I started a while ago. They remind me of a Summer sundress. So pretty. I will be sending them to a couple of friends.

Summer Cards

Cindy- That blueberry syrup you made sounds so yummy especially on ice cream. Yeah, football season is starting. Are you excited? I did see the Hall of Fame activities last weekend. I didn't know it all is based in the great state of OHIO!!!

Missy- Glad you are joining us. I am married, live in Califoria and love lots of arts especially card making. Welcome and take your time.

Nylene- Thanks for the cheers on my journal. I just watch DD's videos on her blog and YouTube. So inspiring watching and learning. SO my new routine is I watch a few of her videos, then I go to my art table and create while I watch "Green Acres" tv show on YouTube! LOL! How funny is this?

Jen- Congrats on your son's bday! I hope you all had a great time celebrating.

Debi & Cindy- Blueberry picking sounds fun! I have never done that before. I would love to have a basket full of FRESH fruit to bring home and eat up!

Jana- You have been busy! Hope you get to scrap soon. Are going to try a art journal down the road? So fun!

Pam- I am glad you are enjoying your yard. Are you growing any veggies or friuts in your garden?

Good evening all! Hope all is going well with all of you. first of all I got a bad gateway message fro Kelly's card so just in case it is the link here's a link to her beautiful card

Kelly's Summer Card

Not much going on with me I had the ?grands today, so they kept me busy. Yesterday I was messing with errands and computer stuff-back-ups etc.

Pam-I am about 10 minutes by car from the Cuyahoga Valley NP and you could ride a bike there but it is very steep hills in both directions. There are bike trails that go thru the park but most folks take their bikes by car to the parking lots. You can go from Akron to Cleveland on a bike trail thru the entire park though.

Kelly-the football Hall of Fame is 20 minutes from me! I have been there and it is a fabulous museum of football. I was loving Warren Sapp the other night! LOL He's a hoot! Yes I am ready for Saturday-just the first exhibition game but we have new owner, new coaches and players. It should be interesting!

Missy I can't remember if I introduced myself or not. I am so glad you decided to stop by and join our group. This group was a my first scrapping home and Nylene made me feel so welcome. I am a retired nurse, wifde , mom of 2 DD's and grandmother of 2. I have been scrapping for 4.5 years and now days I do both traditional and digi scrapping. Depends on my mood! It is very nice meeting you and again welcome aboard!

Well time to run-will BBL!

Hugs, Cindy

Hello,hello

Hope you are enjoying this fine August day. Mine is mostly sunny and extremely humid. You know, the kind of day that is hazy and uncomfortable.

I am playing my day away.... oh the joys of retirement. Had lunch with youngest ds and now the afternoon is mine.. I am not sure if that is a good thing or not!

Cindy,I am growing cukes, tomatoes, have an apple tree, pumpkins, and various herbs. My cukes are ok but the tomatoes are the worst that I have had for many years. None the less,I am getting a few useable and fairly good tasting ones, despite the malady.

Are you all busy with life with a few crafts thrown in for fun? Tomorrow will be a "Ruby visit",so am looking forward to that. My bff has been away dog sitting for her dd and is due back today. We are due for a lunch or movie or something.

Well hope to chat with you all real soon......

It is already the 7th and this month is going fast. I hope to get out and have some fun later. Been wanting to go to one of my local scrap stores and see what's up. So we will see.

Here is another set of cards I made for a family friend's wedding. Love how happy the cards turned out with the sweet couples smile as the highlight.

Wedding Cards

Cindy- Thanks for reposting my pics. Not sure what happened! How cool is that to have the HOF so close. I know my dh would love to got there. Should be a fun season coming up. Hope your team does well. My dh's team, The Eagles, should be interesting too. So although I am not a big football fan I do like to watch some of the games and keep up with the latest news.

Wishing you all a nice afternoon/evening!

Hello all you Pokeys!

We are frantically trying to finish everything we started for the 4-H County Fair. Check-in is Monday. The girls made ruffly skirts which they will model for the Fashion Revue. Today they helped with the write-up about their survival bracelets, and their cartesian divers they made from recycled soda bottles. They washed and framed their X-stitch pictures and started on their heritage project which is a handkerchief doll carried in pockets of little Pioneer girls. They will finish the doll and write-up about it on Friday, and hopefully we will be ready. Their quilts are finished. That was the time intensive project.

Of course, I forgot to take photos. So we will take some on Friday as they attach their entry tags and finish things up.

I have finished 2 more pages but haven't scanned or posted them yet. I have so many cute photos of Angie's kids from our trip there and her trip here, that I can't quit. I want to do nothing but scrap.

Cindy, it sounds like you live as close to the Cuyahoga Valley NP as we do to the Wasatch Natl Forest. It can be done on a bike, but is very hilly. It's so pretty up there and it's nice that it's so close.

Pam, I'm loving your layouts. I think you need to make a big bound coffee table book of all your layouts. They are breath-taking. Glad you are having time to scrap.

Kelly, your cards are gorgeous. You have a real gift for color and choosing pleasing papers. The people who receive them are very fortunate. Glad you are having your own art days. I love that!

Debi, I was so sad to read that you had car trouble. You didn't need one more thing. Your whole day sounded like the kind that you'd like to stay in bed, or get up and start over. Hope you have things under control again. It's great to see you scrapping. Sending "good computer vibes" to your limping computer so you can continue!

I need to fix dinner. We had hobo dinners (tinfoil) for cubs yesterday and I have lots of leftover hamburger and potatoes. So we'll be having hamburgers tonight and potato soup for lunches for a while.

Sending hugs!

-Nylene

Thanks for all the welcomes ladies.
Been out of town for a few days and haven't been on-line.
I finished another layout. It is actually a 12x12 layout created for a swap here on 2peas. I had to make a page with rosettes in the "anything goes" category(4 for the swap and 1 for myself) This is what I came up with. I used all paper and embellishments I had on hand so I didn't have to spend any extra money.
Posting from my phone and can't figure out how to link it here but it's in my gallery-titled "The Arch"

Hi Missy! Here's how to link your layouts to the thread. When you get your layout posted to the gallery go to the address bar at the top of the page , highlight the URL{address} then come over to the forum and click on the URL box below the smilies. Then a box will come up and you paste the url into the box, and click ok, then another box will come up and you type in the title and click ok. Then it should come up in your post. After you hit submit your layout will show up in your forum post. HTH If you have questions you can peamail me or write a note in this thread!

Here's a link to Missy's page:

Whew, okay at work now, caught up on the blog and praise all complete - check.

Missy - Welcome. You joined while I was busy in my Pazzles class and did not have a change to say hello to you. Glad you are here. I love scrapbooking and do it just about every single moment I can. My husband is retired so he takes care of the house for me so when I am not at work I am pretty much scrapping. Except for when we are RVing, and then I take stuff with me to scrap. I have two fur babies Desmond a stray cat that wandered into our life about two years ago and Bandit a stray pup that showed up in June.

Everyone's work is great, and looks like everyone is really being productive this month, especially Pam! Keep it up Pam, I love your pages.

Well I guess I better get to work (grumble, grumble, grumble). Have an absolutely wonderful day everyone.

So far,I am still in my jammies, have only washed my face, brushed my teeth and combed my hair, lol. Oh,and had lunch with ds. Is that a late starter or what!!

Nylene, can't wait to see your pics ,those scouts activities sound so fun and rewarding. I am sure all those boys and parents are so grateful for you and your dh's hard work and support.

Cindy,I know what you mean about hills.... I am surrounded by them. They are for a much younger person than me to conquer. I used to be able to do it but it is a different day now.

Good evening ladies! Hope all is well with everyone! The kids just left and we ate dinner so had a minute to look at what was new! I did scrap a page and will post at the end!

Pam-isn't it nice to have one of those lazy mornings! I like that once in a while but I usually have to get up and get dressed within an hour or so. I don't know why but I can't stay in my jammies all day unless I am sick!

Deb_Did you get your car taken care of? I hope you didn't take it apart too! Seriously I hope you were able to get it repaired-you really need that car.
Nylene-I hope the kids all do well at the fair! Are you judging anything this year?

I am getting ready to watch the Browns play their first exhibition game with their new crew! I hope it goes well! I so love football!

Here's my layout- Sweetest Berry in the Bunch

Thanks for looking and BBL!

Happy Friday evening! It has been a beautiful day today. Warm and sunny but not hot. LOL! I got out to pick up a few things from the dollar tree. Do you all have that store in your city? Lots to choose from. But got some supplies for my art. I have been enjoying this burst of creative energy. I have been painting, journaling, cardmaking and even started drawing some. So I have lots of pics to share.

Also, thanks for the cheers for the cards I made. I love how they turned out and I hope the couple loves them, too. Mailed them this week. Yippee!

Nylene- If I knew the 4H club had all that I would of got my mom to get me involved on that side. Maybe my craftsy side would of started earlier. So glad you get to do this for the sweet kids. The ruffled skirts sound so cute. I feel like I need to have a vacation to "Camp Nylene's"

Cindy- Football is here! I hope you are enjoying it. I am watching a game now and my dh isn't even home yet! LOL! But I guess I like more than I thought.

Maribeth- How is that little pup doing? Oh, and the font I used on the cards is a old stamp I have called Studio G Ditto.

Waving hi to Debi, Missy, Anne, Jana, Jen, Angie and all you other peas. Hey where is Linda? I hope she is ok!
