Happy Tuesday! I am feeling better and ready to get some more crafting done today. Over the weekend I got some more supplies and looking forward to diving in.

Here is a card I made for my dh's boss & wife who are expecting a baby soon.

Congrats Summer Card

Cindy- That soup sounds heavenly! I wish you could send me a sample of your cooking creation through our imaginary 2 peas express!

Pam- That pumpkin you are working on sounds fun and very cute. Please share when you are done.

Maribeth- So cool that you are enjoying your courthouse project. That was a very nice pic Nylene sent. Now I will have to keep my eye out for any historic buildings.

Jen- Teacher's strike already? Geez!

Missy- How was the reunion? Hope you both had fun!

Nylene- I am here! Hope your cub time goes well.

Kelly your last entry in your art journal is fantastic...love everything about it.

I've spent the better part of the day taking the viruses off my kids' PC...over 1000 infected files...yuck! Hope it is clean although I still have some questions about residual files in the registry of stuff I took off elsewhere. Need to find out if I need to and it's safe to take it out of the registry without causing problems.

Thank goodness for the internet in being able to research stuff but I'm tired of working on it.

Good evening... second visit of the day..

Nylene,I will look up that recipe and pm you.... It is crock pot and the longer it cooks the better it smells! I can it in those small jam jars and give it as stocking stuffers for

Christmas or I make a batch of rolls and include it.

Well Ruby Jo stopped by in her Uncles Berlin Flyer for a short visit. She was so cute.. dsil & dd had it all padded and she was laying back enjoying the ride.

I had some time this eve,so here's a coneflower layout that I did.

Soon come Pam

NYLENE I wrote a whole novel (ok a vent)over on chatty scrappers thread about the saga of the missing Ortho gear if you want to see how it got resolved. No sense in repeating it here.

Waiting on some friends to go to a movie this morning with the boys and then hang with them for the day...probably into the late night if not overnight, so don't expect to get much done here.

At least the weather is nice albeit 10-15 degrees cooler, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Have a great day. Maybe once school starts back up I'll get back into scrapping more.

Happy Hump Day Ladies.

I tried to post last night but kept getting "server error" codes.
Had a little scrap time Monday night and was gonna share a couple.

Just booked my airfare for my next cruise. The countdown is officially on. October 19th can't come soon enough. Vacation w/ the DH and NO KIDS!

Kelly-The reunion was....shall I say....Different. My husband enjoyed himself. Not really a lot of his classmates even came but those that did had a good time sharing tales of high school and rowdier days. I ended up having 6 men in my kitchen at 2 in the morning eating all my left over food from earlier that day. THAT was interesting.

Nylene- Junk Journal is the same as a smash book, I do believe. The "swap chat" ladies all call them Junk Journals on the thread so that is what I labeled mine.

Hope you ladies have a great rest of the week.

Pam, thank you! I would love that recipe. Sounds so good. Glad you had a little Ruby time. Grandchildren make getting old so much easier.

Debi, I'll go read the vent when I leave this thread. I'm so sorry you are dealing with such difficult people. Glad you got the computer cleaned up. Viruses are such a waste!

Kelly, I love your last page. She is just beautiful and I wish I had her eyelashes!! Also love that card you made. So elegant.

Missy, I just pulled out my George concert photos. I think I want to get them scrapped soon. Unfortunately we don't have photos of us at the concert. Oh, well, we got him!

I finished a 2-pager for the Stash Busters challenge. Not my usual type of layout, but it's nice to mix it up occasionally. I'm pretty much in a rut and have been since I first started scrapping. I always fall back into the same patterns, but I like them so I guess that's OK.

Better to Give

I helped judge the Weber County Fair today. Some of their 4-Hers did phenomenal projects. It's so nice to see such quality items being made by children.

Sending hugs to all. I'm hoping to scrap, scrap, scrap more tonight.

Hope you all have had a terrific day! Mine was a little slow but that's ok. I did get some journaling done. Also, I found an art journaling group with Julie Balzer on Flickr. So inspirational to see everyone's work.

Nylene- OMG! that touching doll story you shared on that lo was sooo good. What a great story teller you are. I could really imagine it all.
I am glad you are enjoying the fair activities. If I ever visit Utah I must come during the fair time so I can see you and the 4-hers in action! Lol! So fun!

Missy- Well at least your dh and friends had a great time. I guess (for them) it was a good thing you had extra food so the party could continue. Lol!

Debi- Thanks for the cheers about my journal page. I had fun especially with the hair.

Pam- Glad to see your mojo is back and fabulous! Enjoying your layouts.

Wishing you all a wonderful evening!

Well we got a lot of rain and storms last pm,so I delayed mowing till it dries up. Good excuse, huh? I cleaned the refrig instead, another job that I procrastinate about. DONE!!

I am getting ready to make another rug, hope to start this next week. Since the garden is at a lull... good time to sit back.

I had several aha moments today working on a page that I did.,, so I am secretly smiling to myself.. love to learn something new.

It's nearly 2 o'clock and neither person who was supposed to be here have shown up (not seen the ex's newest wife and the kids' headgear which was supposed to be here around 10 ish or our friend and her nephews). Hate waiting around for people when I have other things I could be doing.

My car repairs got pushed back to next Monday (was supposed to be this Monday) which is not as good of timing as I have lots of appointments and other meetings to work around next week but it couldn't be helped. His other mechanic is out due to an injury and he's just backed up. So crossing my fingers and hoping it is a quick, uneventful repair--time and money are always an issue.

Need to get the boys out clothes shopping at least for some school supplies and jeans (maybe shoes). So many extra expenses this time of year.

Still trying to figure out something special to do for the end of summer with the kids; any ideas?

Good evening Peas! Sorry to be MIA the past couple of days. I have had the grands and then not felt well the either. But this too shall pass! I am feeling the need to scrap-maybe tomorrow. Believe it or not my DD Becky is readying herself to start scrapping again. Now that the kids are a little older she feels she can scrap without having to watch their every move. I am so glad to hear it. The other DD just moved and has put her scrap room together-so she may start again also.

I do not have much going on here, but I have enjoyed reading all the chat you girls have added.

I am also loving all the creativity I am seeing in the gallery. You girls are such an inspiration to me! Well going to get off hope to stop by again in the morning.

Hugs, Cindy

Headgear showed up...My son intercepted it while I was occupied upstairs and didn't bother to tell me til I saw the bag with the stuff in it awhile later.

Friends showed up too...went and got my car washed (it was free at Brown Bear day today) and boy my car needed it.

Took kids out for Pho soup and then to the MAN of Steel movie.

Tomorrow the friend and her nephews are coming over around 11. She's got something to do, so she'll be gone, but is coming back to help me replace my broken front window (It's only been broken 1 year). Went and priced glass today and it wasn't as bad as I expected it would be so shouldn't be too bad to finish.

I should take photos of the process so I have something to scrap...LOL

Hey all! I hope you are enjoying your day. It is a nice warm day here. I have starting going to Pinterest and really setting up my like there. Are any of you on there? It is fun looking at all those great ideas.

Also, it is my blog's anniversary today! Can you believe it has been 3 years already? Some of you ladies where with me when I started it and so glad you have been on this fun adventure with me since.

Cindy- Hope you feel better! Also, looking forward to seeing your girls back to scrapping!

Nylene- Oh the eyelashes! I love them, too. I recently saw a drawing of a lady with massive eyelashes and it inspired me to try to draw them, too. Also, I got another eyelash story. For my wedding day, I wanted them and the make-up lady put them on for me and I was so happy. Then, right before the ceremonies (after the lady was gone), I looked in the mirror and one of my eyelashes was coming off. LOL! I was so determined to wear them, I wore it half on all day. LOL! So now when I see that pic where you can see it lifting I smile.

Good Saturday morning peas! Hope you are enjoying your weekend. I have a few chores to do today but hope to scrap some more later I scrapped this page last night and decided to post it this morning before I get started.

AWESOME

Kelly- I am feeling a little better thanks!

Pam- I finally saw my hummers! I must have just been missing them as they are still feeding. I know they will be leaving soon and I need to enjoy them while I can. We had starlings go thru last week-which is very early-we usually see them migrate thru in September. I hope that is not the sign of an early winter coming.

Nylene- I hope life slows down for you soon! You have been so busy I do not know how you have time to enjoy all that you do!

Waving a big hi to everyone-BBL!

Cooler mornings...still getting warm in the afternoons but definitely can feel fall coming...I'm not ready. This has been the best summer (weather-wise) we've had that I can remember.

My friend and her nephews spent the day with us yesterday (well I had the boys from 11 til 10; she was here from 5 on). We tried to install the new window and finally after several failed attempts managed to get the window scraped down enough to get the glass in . . . and some points holding it but the bugs were eating us alive so we had to quit. I need to add a couple more points to one side today then the glazing compound and finally re-adhere the storm window (can't do this part alone but maybe the boys can help here). My friend offered to come help Sunday afternoon (I have plans I'd rather not change) and I'd like to finish it today if I can...we'll see. At least I don't have a gaping hole anymore, well I didn't before as I had the storm window but hopefully both windows will get put back into place.

Got a message from ex's newest wife, saying "I know you are gone on your vacation (this is a not-so-subtle check to see if we left on a vacation for our vacation time together) but you should know your car is leaking oil"...hope she is wrong but guess I'll need to have the mechanic check that on Monday too...maybe I'll will check and add oil today just in case. Cross my fingers and hope it isn't a big, expensive repair. It's always something.

Not sure what else we will do today, but hopefully a few things that I have been putting off around the house.

Have a great Day.
Debi

First, I wanted to thank you all for the kind sentiments about my Christmas story and page. I really didn't think anyone would even read it and debated whether to post it. You guys are all the kindest cyber friends.

Missy, where are you cruising? Sounds like a fun getaway, wherever you go.

Cindy, sorry you haven't felt well. I hope you are on the mend. Did you get all your fruit taken care of? I need to start thinking about what I want to put up this year.

Debi, I'm sorry you are still needing car repairs. Hope the fix is not expensive and that they can get it back to you quickly. Sounds like you are having some wonderful "last hurrah" days with your boys and friends before school. You are a good mom to devote so much time to them. Don't let anyone (ex included) tell you differently.

Kelly, I love to watch Julie Balzer when I catch her on scrapping shows. She does such interesting art. I can see that you would love her style. You are artistic and think like she does. I'm loving your work.

Pam, I am so in awe of your layouts. I think you need to make a big coffee table book of all of them and then publish it. They should be enjoyed by more than just the 2peas crowd. I have been taking some me time every evening to scrap. It really relaxes me after the stress of busy days.

So here are a couple more.

Fashion Legacy
and
Shrewd Gamer

I'm planning on a much calmer week this week. We'll see if that actually happens. Hope you all have a nice week.

Good Sunday morning Pokeys! Hope all is going well. Not sure what I am going to get into today. Watched the football game and race last evening so I guess I will just have to scrap!!!!! How's that for logic I am feeling doing alright. I only had a few peaches to take care of- I made a a cobbler and shared eating peaches. I did however have enough tomatoes the other day to prepare a batch for the freezer to use in soup or chili. Maggie helped me peel them- a first for her. She is growing up too fast. I need to pick whats ready in the garden today also.

Nylene - you are rocking the layouts recently!!! I am loving them! I am glad you are scrapping and relaxing at the same time. Must be where your grands get all their creativity!!!

Pam-I agree with Nylene-you should have a coffee table book made of all your beautiful pages!

All of you Pokeys have been creating beautiful pages and cards and I am enjoying all of them. Keep up the good work. Well not much more to say (a first} so I will check back later!

Hugs, Cindy

Today, today how is it for you!!

Nylene thanks for the encouragement, you always say the nicest things and make me feel so good. Cindy same for you, thanks for the nudges to keep on scrapping. It is so therapeutic for me,I could never stop.

Well, yesterday was a busy one, dsil installed my new front door, although I hated to part with the old one. The new one is mostly glass, allows lots of light in and brightens my view to the east plus the oldest grandson came to help so I got to hug and see him for a while.Last night I just sat and stared out my new view and relaxed.

Our weather is warming and increasing with humidity,so summer is not finished yet. Tomorrow,I must do some yard work as I have slacked for several days. It's sad to see the garden rest for the winter, but c'est la vie!!

Nylene,do all the girls make quilts? I love to quilt but not piece them together. My late dh's grandmother and sisters were immense quilters and shared that love with me.Isn't it funny how quilts tell such a story?

Cindy,my youngest ds and middle ds are staunch Browns fans, got it from their dad, so they are looking forward to the new season. I don't watch much football but I sure was around to listen when they all gathered together to watch.I hope they have a great season, they deserve it.

Well, time to look alive and productive,I am making a loaf of white bread,so that needs started.

Have a fun day..... Hello to all... Soon Come Pam

You are all so busy. I'm up and out of the house, which is good. Although my schedule is about 1/2 off...got gas, went to the bank, got an oil change and my brakes checked, p/u my son's saxophone and now when the car is done I'm off to Mom's but by then I'll be an hour late I'm sure...oh well--these things take time.

Will finish the window when I get home later this afternoon.

And then I have to sit down and sketch out the visitation for the rest of fall and through next school year. We already have a conflict--the all band fieldtrip lands on my ex's weekend and he's not going to like it. It was originally my weekend and he wanted to trade because he planned a vacation during his normal weekend, now I'm going to have to renege or not have them in band...oy! It's amazing I don't have high blood pressure with all the stress trying to coordinate my kids' activities around my ex's non-supportive schedule...

Anyway one week to school and I'm feeling a bit panicked.

Hello Monday!!

Well a warm one it is.... chasing this gardener indoors for the day. I was out real early but even then it was uncomfortable and buggy. I hate that I have to be so careful about bites, but what can I say,lol

DS here for lunch, then Kait stopped by before work to bring me more tomatoes... I have eaten so many of mine and hers that I am starting to get a red glow. They still taste yummy though.

I am starting to prepare my inside flowers that are out for their migration back in and hopefully get that done in a timely manner this year, instead of the "rush"

Wishing you a lovely Monday and wonderful week...Soon Come Pam

It is a very warm day here in So Cal. Fan is on and getting ready to get on my art table! We had a nice weekend. Went back to that burger place, Five Guys. I just love the fries! Also, I really enjoyed watching the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington. My mil was there at the original and I think that is so cool to know she was apart of a major historical event like that.

Nylene- Yes, Julie is amazing! I remember seeing her years ago on a scrapbook show and glad to see she is still doing her thing. I am inspired by her style for sure.

Also, you are such a lovely family story teller. I just enjoy reading your layouts. Go Nylene!

Cindy- That peach cobbler sounds so yummy! Can you send me some of that too?

Waving hi to Debi, Pam, Missy, and all ther rest of you ladies. Have a nice evening!

Car is fixed (well the EGR valve line cleared)...cost less than I was expecting (that's good), now to pass the emissions test and get the license tabs.

Kids had their first day of High School Ultimate Practice and yes, it rained (no rain all summer but it rained today) LOL Definitely back to school weather and watching sports under an umbrella.

Kids are spending the night with a friend and another friend, so I'm home alone. Making a list of things I could do, now will see if I do any of them. First on the list: eat dinner. That one I'll do for sure.

Hello my Pokey friends!

I am loving the work that has been linked this month. We have such a varied group of scrappers, with all different styles. I love that part of scrapping! There is no wrong way and all are so beautiful and unique.

Cindy, hope you are REALLY feeling better. Sometimes I think you aren't being totally truthful when you say you are feeling well. You are such a trouper, and just keep going like the energizer bunny. Are you still doing some biking with the kids?

Debi, I hope you get things worked out with the school on fees. In our district, no student can be denied the opportunity for field trips, sports teams, etc. because of finances. I'm sure it's similar in your state. I'd certainly check into it. Glad the car fix was less $ than expected. You deserve to have something good happen this week!

Pam, sounds like your family is around quite often to keep you company. Isn't it nice to have them just drop in. I love that. I will really miss seeing the grandchildren while they are in school. I start to get withdrawal waiting for weekends!

Kelly, I'm ready to see more of your art. It sounds like it is really relaxing for you. I love your journaling. You really have a gift for words.

Maribeth, how's the county projects coming?

I'm missing a lot of our Pokeys who have been absent for a couple of months. I hope when the summer ends and the weather cools off they will come let us know what's going on in their lives.

Angie called and said the kids wanted to FaceTime with us. Sammie held up.......................an ultrasound!!!!! I should let Angie share the news with you, but I was too excited to wait for her to do it. She's not due until March, but we are sooooo excited and so are Sammie and Drew (although he keeps wanting to lift her shirt to see the baby!)

I have a little time tonight and hope to do a little scrapping.

I will be attending a family reunion over the Labor Day weekend, so I won't post a new September thread until Sept 3. Just keep linking layouts to this thread until I get computer access again. Thanks!

Thursday and foggy!!

I was talking about the weather but it also applies to me,lol! Up early and not making much head-way.... Probably need one more cup of coffee.

Debi, what sax does your son play? My dgs,Jacob plays them all, although,OSU is all brass,he still keeps up through local and regional orchestra and is asked to play in musicals most every year. He also accomplished the bass clarinet one year because the sax had very little part in the musical that he was playing for. He does some keyboard and seems to like that too. I love to go see him perform and listen to all the great music. Keeps you busy

Well, today's goal is to finish covering a seat on an antique bench that my ds and I have been working on. I have all the equipment and material, just need to get started.

Tonight is Ruby night at the dd's house,so am also looking forward to playing with my sweet girl too.

Hope all is well from the west to the east and all that is in between.

Soon Come Pam

PAM both sons play alto sax...still no word from the band instructor on borrowing one for the school year...getting panicked.

Kind of gray so far today here too. Kids managed to get themselves off to their freshman orientation...good thing one of them wants to be independent and do it without my help; the other would have just stayed in bed.

A busy day today...lots of stuff to get done and my task mojo went missing a few months ago and my life, and house are showing it. Like my 2nd son, I'd just soon stay in bed and ignore all life's pressures.

Good afternoon Pokeys! Hope all is well with all of you. Nylene is correct and knows me too well-I have not been feeling well. I tried a new medication which did not help so I stopped it. It looks like I am having a problem with milk. I drank some after stopping it and all the pain and nausea returned. So I am finally starting to feel like my old self.
I went out to the bike trail for the first time today! We rode out too far so I had trouble riding back, but I will get there. We are going to get a speedometer so we can tell how far we are going and we can pace ourselves better. I think I am going to do a mini book of my journey with the bike!

Hope to scrap tonight! My new class with Jana Morton starts tomorrow. It is a class for Maggie, Bobby & I. It should be fun. It is titled Making Memories with Children. Jana's kids are involved too! Not sure if Bobby is going to scrap but Maggie is excited. Here's the info if you are interested:
new class

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Boys had to get up at "school time yesterday" to attend a freshman orientation...MY OH MY were they grumpy ALL DAY. Not looking forward to getting back into that schedule especially since I know they won't have much free time and they are going to go into withdrawal from their gaming. I've been warning them all summer that with school, gaming will be severely cut, but I don't think they truly understand...give me strength to get through this.

They went to bed 1 hr early last night and didn't even rouse til 9 this morning...if you can call crawling from the bed to the couch to watch netflixs being up...no breakfast or showers yet...

Got to do school shopping prep today...not looking forward to it but it's got to be done.

Happy Friday! It is almost September and I am ready. The heat this week is still going but we are staying cool (at least during our waking hours).

I am still having fun with my art and still want to make a layout. I printed the pics out and my ink is too low so gotta try it again. Also, hope to start getting some Christmas pp soon. Time to start making a few cards for the holidays at least a sample.

Here are a few pages from my journal I recently did. I posted these and a few other pics on my blog, too. (link below)

More Art Journaling

Cindy- Glad you are feeling better. As we both know our tummies can but so sensitive at times. Yeah, hearing you rode your bike lets us know you are back to normal! Also, that class sounds fun. Can't wait to see what you all made.

Hi all! Where did August go?

I hope you are all well. Our town festival is this weekend, so we'll be spending some time down there.

I blogged today about the movie they made at our house a couple of years ago, we finally saw it this week...

I've gotten some scrapping done and will try to get that posted in the next few days.

I hope you're all well!

Good September morning Pokey's! Hope you are all enjoying your Labor Day Weekend! We always just take it easy on this weekend. So not much going on here. I did scrap a page last night documenting our first bike ride on the Hike & Bike Trail, which was very enlightening to say the least.
Looks like we are going to have rain for tonight and tomorrow! Probably why we decided not to do cookouts

Here's my page!

Happy day to all!!

I,too,am enjoying a low-key holiday week-end.... just me and the computer right now. DD and family stopped by earlier for a brief visit and some laughs, then after I fed myself ,I decided to do what always makes me happy, lol!!

Cindy your park photos look amazing, what a gift that they are within your reach. Won't be long until they are alive with colors. Enjoy!!

Tomorrow is Ruby's first bd celebration so I hope the rains hold off. She was born on labor day last year and the year has flown by.She is walking, talking and full of fun....She will be officially 1 on Tuesday.

I finished the antique seat for ds,hope it looks good and he likes it. I can't wait to show it to him. He has some friends over today,so may be later or tomorrow I will deliver..

Well,I must get back to my playing, have a great day..... Soon Come Pam

Just a quick Hello and Happy Labor Day! I am behind in posting and realized the last time I checked in was August 4th! I got off work on time so decided to get on the computer this morning and make my rounds on the message boards. I work again tonight and then will have a couple of days off.

I hope everyone has a safe holiday! Hope to catch up soon.

Hope you all had a restful Labor Day. We relaxed and had a nice day. Sunday, we went to one of our favorite shopping center, Fashion Island. We had a good time and the weather was cooler there. I took some pics and will be working on a lo today.

I am off to see your layouts and leave some praise. Check back later.
