I made my first layout this weekend. It is just before pics, my goals, and current stats. Just wanted to share. Sorry it's such a bad image.

Weight Loss PL

So I'm embarking on a weight loss journey. It's long over due! I want to track document motivate through a smash book, mini album, project life style album I guess. On the daily spots I was thinking I could write what I did that day that works toward my goal. And updated pic every other week. Maybe tricks and tips I find. Etc.

Any ladies done something similar? And pics of your work to share?

Sounds like a good idea! Might be a good way to keep up the motivation on days that you might struggle.. being able to look back and see a visual recording of your successes to date.

I've never done a project like that, but I think including some pictures of good healthy meals you've enjoyed would be fun! Plus, on days you feel like "there's nothing to eeeeat!" you can look back and find something that does look tasty.

If you use Sparkpeople you could grab weekly screen shots of your nutritional/fitness/measurement recordings as a summary.

Cathy Z has a great template that she used for "move more, eat less". She has great instructions walking you through how to use it.

I found a neat free app called FitFrnd. It's simple, I like it. So I think I'm going to go with that and a project life style album. yay! I'm excited. Figures it would take something like scrapping to motivate me to lose weight. hahahaha

I am doing one in a Smash book and love it. I pin my bibs in there from races, I document all my weight loss in it by date (which I have slacked on lately..), before and after pictures. Pictures of piles of clothes I got rid of..quotes, food ideas.. whatever floats my boat. I love doing it in a Smash book and being more 'informal' with it.

Oh my gosh, I love this idea!

I have a Smash book lying around that I've been trying to find a use for. I'm totally doing this! Thanks for the idea. I know it doesn't help you, but I appreciate the inspiration.

I started in January in my little SMASH Journal. I'm a lazy scrapper so the 1st of each month I have taken a front pic and side pic... printed them with my little POGO printer and on one side of the page I put the date and my weight (and any thoughts if I'm feeling fancy) on the other side I have the 2 pics. It is great for motivation and if I was more active (exercise & scrapping) it could be a much more detailed album but for me this is good for now. I'm down 30+ pounds since January too! Good luck to you OP and everyone else who takes it on!!!

I LOVE the ideas. I recently had my son and next week going to start my weight lose journey and always look for ways to track it. Have several PL kits that I could use so I think I might do it in a project life style. Not sure if I would do a 12x12 or mini album though. Thanks for giving me this idea.

I keep a log of my weekly weigh-ins on FB, then I take a monthly pic. I will eventually scrap my journey...when I have reached my goal.

I bought a Smash album that I want to do the same thing with. I thought about taking pictures wearing the same outfit after I lose each ten pounds or something like that. Good luck on your journey and please share your success with us!

This sounds like a great idea. I also have a blank Smash book that I could use. I just looked at Cathy Z's program and the templates as someone suggested. While the concept is good I think the template package is a little pricey at $15.99 for 22 pages.

Cathy Zielski actually has a class that tracks exercise/weight loss/healthy living...I lasted I think three weeks actually doing the album; a little longer on the exercising/eating right. I'm not a journaler and I guess that felt too much like keeping a journal.

good luck!

She also has just a two single page templates (12x12 or 8.5x11), without having to buy the full package. I think the templates are around $3.50 each. That is the route I went. In the link, just scroll down toward the bottom to see the templates. I went with the 8.5x11 template so that I could just use a regular office binder and page protectors.

I would really like to do this too. I think that looking back through the book at past accomplishments would be very motivating when losing motivation. I like the idea of a Smash book for this. I think I'll pick one up this week.

But I'm embarrassed of my actual weight number so I'd be afraid that someone would see it. I guess I wouldn't have to put my weight in, maybe just pounds lost (or gained).

I think it would be great to share pages on our weight loss journeys which would also allow us to share in our successes, share tips and recipes, and motivate each other.

I started to not put my weight, but I though EFF it, people know I'm fat. And hopefully a year from now when I look at that first page, I will realize what I really did!

Congrats on your decision to become healthier and best of luck in your venture!

You could take photos of new recipes you try, work out dvd's, fitness or recipe books you read, things that inspired you or things that challenged you, your bucket list of stuff you want to do when you reach your goal, clothing styles you want to fit into.

Great idea!! I just got put on the "Protein-Sparing Modified Fast" diet (a.k.a. Crazy diet!) and I want to do something like this to document my journey.

I already started a blog to help me record my progress (Rosie's Journey To Skinnyville), , so maybe I can piggyback the album with the blog!

Thanks for the inspiration!
