Did anyone else get the email about the new embellishment club? I am so intrigued, my only hesitation is that it will always include a washi tape. I am just not really that into washi, but I suppose I could sell it every month. Anyone else considering?

It looks like $35 shipping included. It's quite a lot for just embellishments, but I bet it is lovely. And I never ever seem to love all the papers in kits and have plenty of paper already, so this is just so tempting!

i'm seriously considering it, but the price does seem a wee bit steep, especially since i'm not big on stamps.

Tempted but the price seems high. Also, the sneak looks ... sparse? How much fits in that little tin? Not sure it's $35 worth.

Where are you from Melissa? International? I see $35 shipped US. I love the idea of extras at a discount and $1.99 flat rate shipping. I think I am talking myself into it!

I think the mix of products looks great, a little pricy but awesome. I get the SC PL kit right now, and can't go two... So maybe I'll switch or do this one in January.

^^ ditto. I'm gonna pass. There are a lot of kit clubs out there that include paper and a lot more embellishments for the same price.

Looks great to me! It includes a stamp set, which are not cheap. Perhaps that's the most expensive item in the kit. Also, I get Ali Edwards studio stamps every month. Ooh, I think I'll cancel, that and go with the FF! Only a little more a month, but o love FF!

I'm considering also - $5 fee to cancel is very do able. I remember when SC came out with PL Kit, the first few, I was bummed that I didn't jump on board sooner. I have enough paper to last me a long time. I'm happy it's just embellies.

Yeah, I forgot that the cancellation fee was only $5. That seems worth it to try at least the first month, and if I cancel after that then I basically would have paid non member price, but was guaranteed the kit.

ETA: It says that the first month includes nine different product types. One of which is stamps, which as mentioned, are never cheap. So that averages about $3.50 per product, and obviously the stamps are more. So although the tin looks small, those little embellishments add up. So I am thinking it may be totally worth the price. I guess we'll find out in about a month!

Wow...I so adore FF, and I do tend to have way too much paper and not enough embellishments. I haven't been part of a kit club since Poppy Ink (if you can remember back that far!) They generally don't appeal to me since I worry about getting paper I hate. I am quite picky about paper...but I never hate anything from FF...The international shipping is pretty steep, but it always is. So tempted, not sure what to do since I have pennies saved for the new Maggie Holmes and Dear Lizzy...

I was tempted too, but it is just too high for just embellishments. I would keep subbing just to see the tins pile up, LOL. I am turning into more of a collector than an actual scrapper. I love the idea though.

Let's see if we can do the math. First of all, the site specifically says that the products retail $35, and that's what you're getting it for - shipped, too - and they're exclusive.

FF washi tape $4*
FF wood chip set $4.50
3x4 stamp set $7.99 OR 4x6 stamp set $15.99**

6 other embellishments x average $2.50 each = $15.00

So that's $31.50 right there, possibly $1 for the stamp set depending on the price structure.

*Of course, if you buy washi somewhere other than FF, you can get it for as cheap as $1.50 per roll. $4 per roll is on the high end.

**It's not clear whether the stamp set is 3x4, 4x6, or some other size. I also used the new higher prices, since the stamps are made by Hero Arts, and they've been using the $15.99 based price structure. Plus, the cost makes me think it's a 3x4 stamp. If it is a 4x6 stamp, it's a hell of a deal. This image makes me think 3x4:

ETA: I think it's less like CT or CD where you're getting a great deal in the club rather than buying on the market, and more like Scraptastic where it's all about stuff you can't get anywhere else - a venue for a designer rather than for a good price. So it's a different type of club for a different type of buyer. Designers can produce more stuff in a kit club like setting because, with a subscription, there's some level of assurance of how much to produce - and the occasional unpopular item doesn't get left on the shelf.

On their facebook page someone asked about the size of the stamp set and they replied that the stamp set for September is 3x4 with 9 images.

The way they replied specifically about the "September" stamp could mean that it will vary by month, I'm not sure.

I don't want to commit that much money to embellishments every month especially since I don't stamp too often and I am washi tape impaired.

I know the International shipping is pricey, but that always factors into pricing when we buy things here in Australia anyway...for example a package of MME enamel dots costs me AUD$7.75-$8.00 rather than US$5.00. Oh, and shipping from an online Australian store if I buy online (and don't get free shipping) $8.00! My local scrap store is nice, but they have limited amounts of things I really like and their prices are pretty steep (they usually charge $1.90 for a piece of patterned paper!)

One of the things that really did it for me is the types of embellishments i tend to use are: washi tape, wood veneers and enamel dots. Oh and I LOVE stamp sets, love 'em! All things I know FF stocks and will be in kits. They are, as a previous poster mentioned, more of a boutique brand. Everything in the kit will be exclusive, which I found interesting. You aren't necessarily getting a huge value here. Although, for me, if it is things I will use up that IS value. If I buy something and don't use it at all, or not that often, that is more of a waste to me. I would rather spend a bit more for things I really love and will use up then get a huge packet of junk I will use 1-2 of...

Oh and did you SEE those glittery/opal-like enamel dots?!
