I'm pretty new to project life, and have only been doing it for a couple of months, but it's going really well. My problem now is that I'm tired of my blank first page. I'm scrapping each week with two facing pages, so the backside of the first page is all ugly and empty. I don't really have photos or anything to put there, so I was wondering what others have been doing about it, or if there's somewhere specifically I should go to get inspiration.

Thanks.

Do you have one of the Becky Higgins PL kits? There are first/last page cards for this exact purpose

Mine is also empty but I am just waiting until I decide exactly how I want to do mine. I think people usually make the first page an introduction to the year. Here are some of my favorite first pages of PL that I had saved to Pinterest.....

Here's a great PL title page by Susan Weinroth:

Here's a cute one by a Pea named smbradford...

Here's one from a Pea named brandtlassen....

by Pea santoso 10NY...(I love how happy this is)

Here's one that I love that's for a Disney album and I know that's not what you are doing but I wanted to show you the placement of photos in this and the balance of colors. I love it!

You can go to Project Life in the Gallery here and type in "title page" in the search box to the left and a bunch come up!

watch the 2 P's PL video this week (under the videos heading) and see how Melissa Stinson used a whole page of pretty paper that she cut up to fit the PL pockets. You could do the same and then add letters to spell the year, your family name, whatever you want to introduce your PL album.

Aah, okay, thank you all so much. I don't have a project life kit, but the whole sheet of paper idea is really good, and those photos were exactly what I was looking for. I just wasn't sure where to find those images specifically.

But yeah, wow, I think I have some sense of what I want to do now. Thanks!

I like Melissa's idea of using a pretty 12x12 sheet. Or you could use a 12x12 photo.

Don't feel bad. My first page is still blank (since January). I have a whole sheet of 12" x 12" that I might cut up to use. Also, I have been collecting filler cards that I might use as well.

I'm really glad that I didn't fill it at the beginning of the year. I may wait until the end of the year and complete it when I complete the final page in the back. There certainly was a lot more unexpected things happening this year. I think I want to add a poem to my first page (haven't done it yet).

I like to do really crafty things on the first page. They are all mini canvases. This year I included the date (2013) and a card for each person to write what they would like to accomplish for the year.

I am planning to wait until the end of the year and choose 4 favorite photos of all of us for the first page.

So far now, I just used cards from an old Simple Stories line (Year-o-graphy) so that it wouldn't be empty all year long.

On New Years I had 4 of my kids hand paint shirts each with a number to spell 2013! If you click on my profile, I uploaded my PL intro page. I'm on my phone so I can't link it sorry! I think i used clementine cards on the page(it was one of the first kits I bought and the colors went well with the colors of the shirts!). I even had a handprint stamp that matched perfectly!

That was what caught my eye too... Picking a gorgeous paper that's just perfect as it is - especially one of those large image papers... I have the Christmas paper with the ice skating people and the city skyline in the background and can't wait to put that in a december album... Think it's a great way to introduce the colours or style of an album...
