I love the look of misted pages but was always afraid of the mess. Okay, I've decided to put my fears aside and go for it. I just want a few basic colors to start with. Now what I need to know is what brand(s) do the Peas recommend? TIA.

My favourites are Studio Calico's Mister Hueys and October Afternoon's SprINKlers. I also have a few Dylusions sprays (by Ranger) -- these are super bright and intense!

I like the Heidi Swapp shine sprays and then Tattered Angels.

Oh, forgot to add that I was a long time hold out. Then I tried one at a crop and now I own around 10 in only a few months. Great for coloring chipboard and mistable items.

I love Mr. Hueys mists and Heidi Swapps gold lame mist. It is awesome.

Lindy Stamp Gang I love them, they are so great! They don't clog they have 2 tones for a lot of them.

I love Dylusions (the colours are nice and bright, not grungy) and I also have some of the Mr. Hueys.....
As far as the mess goes....I got some little droppers at an art store and I prefer to "drip" the sprays onto my page....less messy and I like the effect!

|Posted: 8/3/2013 8:01:37 PM|If you like an opaque finish I LOVE october afternoon's mists. They are a PITA as far as having to shake them up really well because the ingredients separate if they sit too long but they sure do spray well! My second favorite are Heidi swapp color shine but that's glittery

Thanks. I already have a few of the Mister Huey sprays on my wishlist here (they're out of the Heidi Swapp ones). I get paid Friday, so I think I'll be hitting that 'buy' button.
baseball is love.

I like Tattered Angels' mists. Not sure if Maya Road still makes mists, but I like theirs as well. I love Heidi Swapp's Gold mist. Studio Calico has nice mists, also.

-For non shimmery/opaque colours I like Mr. Huey's (Studio Calico). They are pricier, but they have good colours.
-For shimmery colours Heidi Swapp for sure.
-A note about October Afternoon, Sprinklers may be getting hard to find since the company that made them for OA has gone out of business or something.

I have only used Heidi Swapp & Mr Huey's. I like HS a little better because of the shimmer but both are nice.

I like Glimmer Mist for the shimmer. I like most of the other ones mentioned as well.

I like that Mr. Huey's are matte, but they are super expensive compared to others and you can go through them super quick. I have just decided to embrace the shine of HS mists due to costs.

I second Kat, OA Sprinklers are great for matte, however I also have some Mr. Huey's and like them too. I definitely go for my Heidi Swapp mists most often. They do above glimmer to them, so if you don't like shimmer them stay away. Happy playing!

I'm in love with Heidi Swapp color shine sprays. The Gold and Teal are my favorites, such rich color with a bit of sparkle to them. Mister Huey's are nice too, beware the opaque white it smudges like crazy in page protectors.

I've had mixed results with Glimmer Mists and I'm not crazy about the "glimmer". However, Ashley has convinced me to come on over to the "gold side" w. Heidi Swapp's Colorshine! I really love it.
And my favorite mists are the OA Sprinklers, but like ImPEAria said, they don't seem to have a mfg. for them now.
And I do have a few Mr.Hueys that I like pretty well. NOT the opaque white though - it takes a long time to dry and still tends to rub off. I have a bottle of that if someone would like to pea-mail me, they're welcome to it. Maria

I love mr. Huey's for matte and Heidi Swapp for shimmery. HS is a better deal bc of the size and she has gorgeous colors, but I really do prefer matte. But I own some from each manu and love them all.

I love Heidi Swapp's Gold lame but other than that I'm a total Lindy's convert. I love that they have non-glimmer line (Flat Fabio)and the 2-tone glimmery line (Starburst).

I was wondering about the glimmer vs. matte so thank you for clearing that up.

|Posted: 8/4/2013 5:32:45 PM|I too love Lindy's sprays, beautiful colors, I also like the Mr. Hueys for a mat look.
That is too bad about OA sprinkles, I have been looking at them lately there are a few colors that I would like... can anyone recommend a nice light pink in mat, I keep ordering sprays that I think are going to be light, but they end up a much darker pink than I want.

Mister Huey, Heidi Swapp Colorshine and OA Sprinklers. The Colorshine has the same coverage as the other but they also have glimmer. All are great products. The only challenge is that sometimes the mister part breaks so you might want to pick up a spare empty mister bottle at the dollar store when you get a chance.

I make my own mists with acrylic paint mixed with water in a mini mister. I squeeze a little bit a painter into a mister and add a lot of water and shake. I had to test to see if it would spray and drop nicely and had to add more water. I just use cheap paints, less then a buck a bottle and the most expensive part was the misters. I even made a gold mist as well.

Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays are my favorites at the moment, though I also use Tattered Angels. Try it and you'll like it!
(a tip - I keep a box in my scrap room, maybe 16" x 16" and about 4" deep that is just for spraying)
Have fun experimenting!

I'm going to just chime in here and say that, for my money, I'd skip the mist and go for gelatos. I had mists for about a year before I got my gelatos, and I rarely actually sprayed the mists. I mostly dripped ink or painted it on my projects. Now that I have my gelatos, I use them several times as often as I use my mists, and I can do nearly anything I can do with mists with my gelatos with FAR less mess.
