Here's my concerns:
1. What if the company goes down? There will be no more paper to use.
2. What if tomorrow they come up with a 4x6 one? That one I'd buy
3. Was hoping for a lower price...

It's cool looking but I don't need a fancy label/sticker maker for that price. And I don't see the refills as being cheap either so I don't want to invest in it.

Wow... I am really disappointed. Like the poster above said, it's a glorified sticker maker. For over $200. Yikes. I was hoping it would be in the $100-$150 range.

I think it looks like a gimmicky toy, not a real tool. Sure it might be fun for awhile, but the prints are small, it looks pricey to refill, and what kind of print quality and archival quality are they? I do hate waiting for prints, but I prefer to send my prints out these days to get the kind of quality I want.

Off topic, but every time I see someone post about the Zink it makes me think of Dr. Seuss books. Doesn't sound like a Dr. Seuss character? Like the yink?

It's a neat concept, but to pricey for me too.

Love the idea of it but seems awfully expensive. Especially when it only prints a max size of 2". I think 4x6" is the minimum size they should offer. Kind of disappointed after all the hype for it.

Ouch on the price - that's more than I paid for my Epson wide format printer. It's cute, but for that price, you could print a heck of a lot of photos, tags and labels and run them through a xyron sticker maker.

No freakin' way. WAY too expensive. And only 3x4 prints? How is that even helpful? Selphy can do *2* 3x4 prints on a 4x6 and it'll do it for .28. Half that and you're only paying .14 per 3x4. That Zink thing is way more
expensive.

ETA: It's *smaller* than 3x4 prints?!

Probably b/c the cost of the machine would be 2x as much. Which is disappointing. I would be much more interested if the machine could print 4x6 inch photos.

I can see where it would be useful for PL but the refills are $25 and I wonder how many stickers you can get from one cartridge. If it was $50 I might be interested but not for $220.

Isn't it similar to Polaroid technology? Haven't seen the presentation and I couldn't find anything on their site that discussed the archival quality. How long will it take for the picture to fade.

Expensive and it seems like a flash in the pan to me....

This only prints little prints. If it at least did 3x4 I would consider it. But the prints aren't even that big. It is way too expensive. Saw this on Amazon: Zink 4x6

or even this one:

Much better price. Polaroid

The Polaroid one is cheaper, but the paper is 30 dollars for 80 sheets! That close to 40 cents a print, which is double the cost of printing all walgreens, so no thanks.

This just proves what great marketers Lisa B and Becky H are. It is a very expensive sticker maker. Fun toy if you are flush with extra cash but quite silly for most folks.

I did a little research on this new product and see where there are actually two of them but have different functions. Check this out.
https://www.zink.com/content/zink-smart-app-printers%E2%84%A2-%E2%80%93-whole-new-world-happy

I was excited at first about it but being it doesn't print 3x4 pic for PL disappoints me. I am going to check out the Selphy everyone is speaking of here.

I can't buy it because I'm frozen for 1 year. But even if I wasn't, I would spend my money on such a cheap looking gimmicky device. I just started using the Instax Camera that I purchased in January and that's just fine for me. Especially since I usually purchase my film on Ebay at a fraction of the price.

I, too, wasn't expecting it to be so darn expensive! For now, I'm passing on it...

Then I was reading BH facebook page and she says this in one of her posts...

"Plus, this is going to be pretty much perfect for a certain mystery Project Life product coming soon."

and this in another...

"We have a very special PL edition coming to HSN as early as next month that I'll be sharing more about in the coming weeks."

Wonder what that's all about?!

I watched and thought it would be better than it was. And with that price! I have the 4x6 printer the generation before the Selphy and I love it. I use photosheet to divide pics and buy premium photo paper from Sam's Club. It works great for me and though it's not wireless - it's far better than this glorified sticker printer.

Agree with everyone. If it was like $150, it may be something fun to have at crops bcz u can print out a quick photo or clip art, but too expensive for the size. And refills? wowza. I did the math...

They want $25 for a roll of 2" wide tape, and they are 19'. So if u just printed 2x2 pics (like instagram) you get 114 pictures, that's 22 cents a pic (not counting shipping). And i'm guessing there is prolly some overlap you lose, so you really end up with like 100 prints. You can download the app for Social Print Studio, which prints on this really nice, matte finish sturdy paper for 31 cents for a 2x2 print (less if you order more) and cheap shipping.

Or even cheaper. Just use software to get 6 2x2 pics on a 4x6. With some of the 4x6 deals, could practically be fractions of a cent.

I think the whole "advantage" is they are adding all this clip art in, but there are so many free apps nowadays, you can pretty much do it sans fancy software.

But all that's if you really only want to print at 2 inches.

Def disappointed, was hoping for something better!!

I didn't really know anything about this other than what I had seen on Heidi Swapps FB page and it looked cute but I didn't realize they were stickers. I am confussed why you would want that for PJ and then the fact that they are too small for the current PL system. I knew it printed a strip but didn't realize the max height was only 2 inches you would think at least 3 for project life. I hope to see a demo and see other shows if they have them I always enjoy the scrapbook shows even if I don't buy anything.

PEArfect...

I had not heard of the Zink. I read the thread title aloud and said to my son that Zink sounded like something from the Dr. Seuss board book, "There's A Wocket In My Pocket.'"

And that Zink under the sink. I hope it doesn't stink!

I agree with you all, and I think Selphy sales might hit the roof now that people are realizing how great that printer is compared to this gadget.
I had to chuckle hearing Lisa go on and on about never having to buy a cartrdige, never having to replace toner etc etc...I mean you DO have to replace the paper hon! Is she trying to make the case that we are saving money??

The size is weird, but the thing that gets me most is they are stickers. That seems weird to me. So you have to stick them to something else and then slide them into the PL space? Isn't that contrary to the way PL works? (I realize it's not something specific to PL but it's being tied into it).
