I Frankenstien a lot of letters into what I need when I am out of the correct letters. I also like grabbing a new package because I know it will have all the letters I need, so I too need to use up the older ones first.

Welcome newbies and thank you for sharing! I donated lots of my unused alpha sets and don't allow myself to buy them since getting my Cricut several years ago! I Froze a long time ago on those but I do have Thickers envy

I spent the weekend making DD embellies from my stash...cut journaling cards, painted wood veneers and painted doilies gold!

Njbrown, I think the site jens3 was referring to where you can type letters in and it will create all the words it can for you is : Random letters to words
I either write (or print and attach) the words to the alpha sheet, or I actually arrange the sheet of letters into the words that appeal the most to me (and that I think I am likely to use).

I also am thinking of a site some online scrap friends directed me to where the blogger was challenging herself to use up almost done alphas. I'll have to post the link if I find it since I don't think I bookmarked it.

And I do mix different alphas depending on the look I want. Either keeping the same color across the alpha sets used or a similar font or size. You can also recolour alphas by embossing, inking, painting, etc. you may have to sand some letters to get the new color to "stick".

HTH??

I think I'm going to fall off the wagon on Friday...my lss is liquidating their store (because they're moving and transferring owenership) and I need to use up my gift cards (as they won't be honored any longer once new ownership takes place....

does that count!?!?!?!?

2boysandwill,
I think you need to use your gift cards because otherwise you are throwing money away. If I was in that situation, I would consider it not falling off the wagon as long as I only used my gift cards.

Gift cards don't count, IMO. Many frozen peas are looking forward to Christmas cash and gift cards. Enjoy! And come back and tell us what you got.

I'm with everyone else that GCs don't count! It's money already spent so go use it!
I, on the other hand, will probably fall off the wagon on Friday. I decided that I want to make a project organizer to help me keep track of photos/journaling/misc items for the baby albums plus my PL I want to start for next year. I decided on turning a Sn@p album into my organizer and getting the pockets and page protectors for it so that everything is in one spot and I can write what pictures go with what date/items. I'm going to order online so that I am not super tempted to buy other items I really don't need while walking through Michael's. Wish me luck that I don't get anything other than the album and pages because I am getting tempted by the BF deals.

Gift Cards do not count. My birthday was 11/23 (last Saturday) and I got 1 GC from HL, one GC from Michael's and 1 GC from AC Moore's - all are $25.00 each.. I haven't been shopping yet and will probably wait until after the holidays. I also still have a Two Peas $10 GC from August that I won on the Blog Hop. WOW!!! That's $85 in scrappin' shoppin' for me......GUILT FREE!!

My family and I were all set to travel to MD from PA to be with our extended family. DH and I woke up and looked at each other and said, nearly simultaneously..."lets stay home". So, DH, DS, DD and I went to Denny's for a late breakfast and came home. We watched 2 movies and then they played games. I threw together a meal for us (Baked Apples, Chicken, Veggies and Potatoes). I have been scrapping in between preparing dinner. What a great relaxing, non-chaotic, fun day. We have been in our PJs all day and it feels so good.

I got two Layouts completed so far using up some very old Sassafras and adding photo, title and journaling to a LO I'd completed a while back.

I opened my bf emails... studio calico, evalicious, elle's studio. I even put things in my cart, just for the satisfaction, then I quickly emptied the carts & deleted the emails. There will be bf next year. I am excited to use my stash as I am working on Wilna's art class & feeling so inspired. I have 93 layouts to complete before I can buy anything. Hang in there everyone, this will be a tough weekend but with fellow frozen Peas for support, we can get through it!

So I caved and bought a Sn@p album, the pages, and page protectors. But I only bought what I needed for my organizer project, so I'm pretty proud about that part. Plus, with the promo code and points, I only spent $28. So back into the freezer I go now. Someone push me way to the back, so I don't come back out!!

I'm frozen and free and I can't believe for the first time in a longggggggg time I feel no temptation or urgency to buy because there's a sale. I think this freeze is really changing my mindset and view on shopping.

Ladies I hope you all hang in there and continue to reach the goals you've set forth. Remember there will always be a sale, a discount, a special, a BOGO, a Black Friday and an opportunity to shop. Be strong, and happy scrapping. USE UP THAT STASH!!!!

Hey, ladies. I'm sure Black Friday was a major test for most of you. I stayed home and scrapped. I finally finished up that vacation mini that I've been going on and on about for the last month. I love it! My family loves it!
I'm just about to get started on editing my 2012 pictures.

have not been tempted either...even looking at M's ad and I realized there is nothing I want. I think I want more the satisfaction of using my pretty stash. Also spending time decorating the house so shopping is not really on the radar fortunately! Hope to get in some scrapping tomorrow.

I avoided the sales on BF; instead, I created page kits and put them in 12x12 boxes. Today I made two layouts with them. It was nice to have eveything together along with pictures, and when I was done, clean up was a breeze. It may sound crazy since I created the kits, but it was fun to open the boxes and see everything all coordinated - almost like getting new supplies. This challenge is forcing me to be more creative because I can't just run over and buy the perfect embellishment. I am loving getting product I have and love onto pages and into albums. I finished 3 layouts this week. Thank you for starting the frozen peas because it is changing how often I scrap and I find it spilling over into other aspects of my life - like working out. I feel like I have more self control over my behavior because of being frozen.

I agree irisheyes. My craft room is packed with supplies but bagging my stuff into kits is like shopping for it all over again. I get excited to see a paper I bought (although years ago) again and put it together with other paper and embellies.

This thread has kept me honest too. Even though I did buy some red/white bakers twine from the dollar bin at Target Friday. I really only meant to show dd but put it in the cart and bought it. Argg

I hope to scrap today or continue organizing in there. But I also need to make about 8 Christmas outfits for the DGD's. DD's baby is 13 months and she plans on putting her in several different outfits this month. Plus I need to start using the embroider Machine.

My layouts from this week:

still frozen 21, 22, and 23

I used up ribbon, eyelets, chipboard, and some old fabric MM tags.

I've used 54 sheets of paper on my frozen challenge so far. 54 sheets of paper out of my stash and into albums. Thanks frozen peas for keeping me onboard the frozen train.

Shecallsmenana - I don't think you'll get kicked out of the freezer for $1 on bakers twine!

Irisheyes - love your layouts!

Yay! I did not buy a single scrappy item this weekend. I didn't even open the emails. This is huge for me. Thanks for the inspiration, Treyaut.

Irish Eyes - love the layouts! I think that counting the number of sheets of paper that you are using up is a great idea. It is a good reminder of how long it takes to make a dent in the stash.

Irish Eyes: 54 sheets of paper!! WOW! I think I will try counting up the sheets I use up as well, it is a figure that really brings home how much you have!

Well, I made it! All 30 layouts for November and I didn't buy any scrappy products the whole weekend. Like others, I scrapbooked or organized instead. I even got 2 pages of PL done. At least I am at the beginning of November in my PL album now. The only challenge I have for myself for December is finishing up my 2013 PL and coming up with a PL for 2014 that will better suit me.

Ok...I'm jumping in! Brrrr! Frankly, I have too much stuff, which I think is inhibiting me from being creative. I need to par down what I have and use my stash. I put myself on a cardstock ban last month after going through my stash and writing down everything that I have. Shocking to say the least. I figure doing more with less will help me to have fewer choices and use up my stash. I LOVE the latest and greatest, but I never seem to get around to using everything that I purchase. Super waste of $$$$. I haven't purchased anything for a little over a week. (Not a huge accomplishment, but it is a start!)

Hope everyone is having a great Cyber Monday!

One reason I count how much paper I use is because I think nothing of buying 100 sheets of paper and bringing it home to my already full paper shelves. I need to see what it takes to use all that paper. I think even when I finish my 100 layouts, I may stay frozen for paper. But I will re-evaluate when I get to that point.

Minna40, Welcome to the freezer.

I completed two layouts yesterday; I am 1/4 of the way through my challenge.

Hello My Fellow Frozen Peas. I hope we are all still being strong and survived without falling out the freezer over the holiday. I did NO SHOPPING!!! Go me, yeah me, woot woot!! I did however pull out some of my stash and got 5 LOs completed. Two are still on my workspace awaiting titles. I got THIS ONE DONE using up some MME Sweetest Thing and Echo Park Letter Stickers and some Thickers (which I have wayyyyy to many).

And I completed THIS ONE digging wayyyyy back with some Cosmo Cricket - EverAfter collection.

I also used up some Sassafras and Webster Pages on two other LOs that are in my gallery.

Treyaut~ I love your style. You definitely have mastered your own interpretation of Glitter Girl's style. Sounds like you had a perfect holiday with your family.

All Frozen Peas~ Sorry I have been away. Honestly I had to step away from 2Peas because I was finding it so hard not to shop and I know how I am, that is if I am away from it I no longer think about it. I just looked in my signature box and it has been almost a month. I saw the great sale they were having and I had no desire to shop. I think I hit that rock bottom when you know you need to make a turn around.

Gotta run and the kiddos off to school.

I had a tough time this weekend. My LSS is changing ownership at the beginning of the new year so they are liquidating their stock. Everything was 20% off. I was tempted but stayed away. On Sunday I finally started putting together my album for JYC with Shimelle. I bought the "kit" she had here and will fill in from my stash. I am proud of my weekend accomplishment though!

December is definitely a busy time of year. I find my precious scrap time is practically non-existent this time of year. Especially this year. But I really do want to carve out time to do a December Daily type album, since my little nephew is due any day now, it would be a wonderful idea to capture our first Christmas with a baby around.

Great layouts, Irish eyes. It's so nice of you to take the time to photograph and post pics here to share with us. I know it's time consuming. That's one of the reasons why I don't do it.

I've been working on some 6x6 layouts for my kids' summer minis from 2011. They've been lying around half done for so long so I decided to finish them up myself and just leave the journaling for them to do. The layouts are so tiny and fast.

Hopefully my Snapfish order will be here next week so I can get started on my 2012 pictures. The kids' minis and starting 2012 pictures are the last two things on my list of things to accomplish by the end of the year.

How many frozen peas are really frozen due to the weather? We've been housebound for 2 days and ended up with ice and then 9 inches of snow. We were told to stay off the roads unless an emergency. You don't have to tell me twice. I'm a California girl living in the Midwest so snow is not something I want to drive in. Plus I've been so busy sewing, cleaning an hopefully scrapping tomorrow.

Happy weekend

We're frozen here! The high over the last 4 days has been maybe 12*. We got a few inches of snow on Wed and it's still hanging around. There is snow in the forecast for tomorrow too. It is perfect weather to stay inside and scrap, too bad work doesn't see it my way! LOL

Ok, after lurking a while in this thread and reading all of the wonderful inspiration you give to each other, I'm taking the polar bear plunge into the freezer with you. Right after Thanksgiving, DH surprised DS & I with booking a cruise!! It's going to be heavenly, but it's not until summer and I'll need to spend the next 8 months SAVING $ instead of spending $.

So, I am committing to freezing until I have cruise pix to scrap! Until then, I can only buy adhesive, refill pages/protectors or other basics only if needed, and I can get pictures printed. I just got a Cameo this fall, and I like to make my own embellishments, so I need to commit to being more creative with what I already have. I have quite a bit of paper, not a HUGE stash, but certainly enough to get me through - especially with all the great encouragement I see here. (Paper is my downfall!!) Y'all are awesome!

Wm mom of 3. Congrats on the cruise - we love cruises. Lots and lots to do and you'll take tons of pics and have lots to scrap.

Welcome to the freezer it's cozy in here and you're with great company
