On a bright note, I finished two more layouts this weekend, but I also started sorting my stash because I want to organize a scrap swap with some of my scrapping buddies, and I am kind of shocked with how many supplies I can swap. I haven't even made it through everything yet, and I have tons of stuff to trade - so much paper, which is my weakness.

Being frozen is making me re-evaluate how I want to spend my money. I simply buy too much paper. I was of the mind set that one could never have too much paper, but alas, I have too much paper. I don't think I could use it all in one life time. Now new paper is coming out that I would love to buy, but all my shelves are full. I think doing this frozen challenge has been so enlightening for me. I am changing my thinking.

Here is the link to my two new layouts. I have 71 more to do before I decide if I need to stay frozen longer or can shop for some embellishments. I know that when I do shop, I will have the pictures in hand and only get what I need. I can do this!

Irish Eyes loving your progress and your insight. I must concur, my mindset has totally change during this freeze, I've come to understand and embrace that I don't need it all to be creative, that less is best and most of all that too much is overwhelming and such a distraction. After my freeze I'm going into this whole shopping for scrapping goodies differently.

I'm even thinking of downsizing my space into a repurposed Armoire that is sitting bare in our basement. I have big plans for that thing once I use up, purge, donate and sell most of my stock and then come up with a new set up in my room. I'd love to have my armoire, a beautiful sitting area, small work space and that's it in the space that now houses ALL scrapbook stuff.

Treyaut, beautiful layout and picture. I can't imagine fitting eveything in a wardrobe, but that would be so nice to have it all right at my fingertips.

Treyaut, I don't have everything in my armoire, but I really like using it for my supplies, especially the paper.

My goal is to get rid of some of my stuff piled on top of other stuff!

Treyaut, I love your LO; blues and tan/browns/neutrals are so gorgeous together (and always a hit with me)! Irish Eyes, love those last two you just put up too.

Thank you all for the "warm welcome" to the freezer !

I'm definitely a fan of the armoire idea, as I actually have big plans for the one in my scrap room too. I'm currently only able to use one shelf in it for scrappy supplies because I share my scrap room with DD's out-of-season clothes and other stuff she doesn't have with her while she's away at school. So 2 out of 3 shelves and both drawers are taken up by clothes, but the one shelf and a little cubby I currently have is organized with a couple of plastic Sterilite drawer sets full of scrap stuff. I can't wait to be able to use the whole thing! I love the storage capabilities of this thing - and I love that I can close the doors and shut away the clutter! The armoire itself was DD's but she has let me know in no uncertain terms that she never liked it to begin with and does NOT want it. (It was passed from oldest DD to her and SHE never really liked it either - turns out I'm the only one who ever really liked it, but they both used it.)

I used up half a roll of holiday Washi tape AND an extremely old school Rebecca Sower EK Success tag to make a holiday wreath. It's posted in my gallery.

I finished layout number 30 - only 70 more to go.

I made the embellishments with my Cricut, a stamp, and embossing powder. I even used Fastenator staples on this one.

#30 Honor

With the completion of this layout I have now used up 71 sheets of paper.

Irish eyes, you're so inspiring! I'm happy to see you post here. Everyone is so busy that the only thing on this thread lately has been a tumbleweed or two. I've been waiting for pictures to come in the mail so I can get back to scrapping. I've actually been missing it this past week or two.

Hello all. Whew!!! It's quiet around these here frozen parts. How is everyone holding up? STILL FROZEN ARE WE? I am and still feeling strong. I did buy some adhesive today but that's on my allowable list. I also still have $25 HL gift card, $25 M's gift card and $10 GC to use here at 2peas. So when the urge comes, I can at least shop guilt free.

Irish Eyes, I enjoy watching your progression. Thanks for sharing your LOs and count down. 30 down and 70 to go. You are nearly 1/2 way there.

I hope you all are hanging in there and are just scarce due to the Holidays.

Stay warm ladies...and use up that STASH!!!!

I cheated a little bit...I bought 2 Christmas paper pads at M's for $5.99 each. I did something different with them. I immediately tore them apart and put the sheets I didn't love into my donate box. For that price, I didn't even feel bad. Now I only have the ones I love.

Back in the freezer for me! I can't wait for Christmas because I know DH has some scrap goodies for me.

Still frozen and no regrets and no desire. I was over by hobby lobby yesterday and normally i'd go in and buy "stuff" that was on sale or at least use my 40% coupon. No desire. kept driving

I did go into my craft room and start cleaning/rearranging couple of days ago and it was a lot of fun. Everytime I go in there and clean/organize I find "stuff" i had to have only to buy and not use. So this time I'm not buying a thing until Oct 17, 2014 and I'm ok with it.

I'm even planning on scrapping NYE and NYD (only because between now and then I have zero time for scrappy stuff. Too busy with sewing and appliquing.

I really can't thank you all enough for the inspiration and encouraging words. You don't realize how much you are helping so many of us.

And Irisheyes You knock it out of the park EVERY single time. Thank you for that inspiration. And of course treyaut you are a Rock star x's 10.

I finally got my pics in the mail! I'm looking forward to doing some scrapping this afternoon!

I'm still frozen and today is five weeks since I bought a paper pad and then hopped back into the freezer. I need to find a coupon and pick up some adhesive, but that's all I need. Hopefully Michael's or Joann's has a 50off coupon today or next week.

Have a great day, ladies!

shecallmenana - YOU GO!!! Frozen until October, that's awesome. In January I will be at my 1/2 way point. I can't believe I've been frozen for nearly 5 months and I feel renewed. I am not even tempted to have a desire to shop the sales, browse what's new or use up coupons. I am still in the mindset that when I allow myself to jump out the freezer 7/31/14, there will be just as many sales, goodies, new stuff, discounts and coupons available.

Ladies, I know we are all busy this time of year, but I pray we are also all mindful of our goals and the light at the end of the tunnel. I am so proud of each of you and I look forward to hear all the victory stories after the holidays. STAY STRONG MY FELLOW FROZEN PEAS!!!!

Irish Eyes, you are doing an amazing job! Keep going!

I am still frozen and doing well. I had one moment of weakness when I almost hit buy, but thought about it and then didn't. That was a big turning point, where I actually said to myself, it's ok you want it, but it's important to remember you don't need it. Apparently, tiny pep talks work well against the urge to buy too.

Since my nephew was born last week, I've been too busy to actually scrap, but I know once his photos are developed I will be busy scrapping those with the kit I already have pre-made from my stash. I have to say I love how inspiring and supportive this thread has been. I have never created a kit for my scrapping before and noted many of you had done so. It was a great challenge and I keep finding things from stash that work for it!

Good job not hitting the buy button, Grant17.

I have also been purging my scrap room for a swap my friends and I are going to have. I am sickened by how much stuff I had to buy that I feel I don't need anymore. I think when I do start shopping again, it will be with pictures in hand and only getting what I need for those pictures.

I've been slowly freezing for the past 2 months...now I'm officially frozen until spring. I've even cancelled my beloved Cocoa Daisy kit subscription for a few months. I'm determined to USE WHAT I HAVE! I have an awesome stash...so many pretty things that I fell in love with and bought. Its time to use them. I've challenged myself to pick one paper collection and/or item(s) that I bought ages ago and LOVED, and to USE them. I used to want to hoard all my "favorites" but it is SO MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE to see them on a layout and throw away an empty package!! I'm still tempted, but DETERMINED!!

I've been working on my kids' summer mini albums using my Hey Girl 6x6 paper pad. I think I've used more than half of it. Just the thought of killing a whole paper pad is keeping me scrapping today!

mikklyn - well done - keep up the good work

irisheyes - you are my hero

Michelle-you can do it you are in real good company, there are some very amazing scrappers here that have really opened my eyes to the fact that we can do it and made me realize i was spending money just to spend it. It's so much easier to buy buy buy than it is to actually scrap. You've got a great support system here

I tend to buy so much paper/stickers/PL stuff but I do not have 1 veneer (if that's what they are called) and I think I have 2 rolls of washi - seems i am way out of the loop on the hip stuff. I mainly shop HL and quit going into our one and only LSS about a year ago because I'd walk out of there with $100.00 plus each time only for it to sit and never get used. So when I do use up some stash and start buying again I may have to buy some of those cute wood veneers.

Just wanted to brag on myself...

I had to go to M's today to pick up some things for my students' gifts. I picked up a few things for myself too. Then, as I was handing them to the cashier at the check-out I stopped. And...get this!!...I said,"I am sorry to be one of those people but I don't want these things after all." Yep, I had some SN@P things in my hot little hand then I didn't buy them! Yay me!!

Jen1021 - You showed great restraint by not bringing those items home after making it to the checkstand with them. I picked up some thickers at TJ Maxx tonight and put them right back on the shelf and quickly walked away from them. I am going to make it to 100 layouts. You all are such good support for me. I don't want to come back here and tell you all I failed, so thank you all for the encouragement and sharing your stories of staying strong.

Thanks, Shecallsmenana, I don't have the latest and greatest either. My downfall is Ross and yard sales. I love a bargin, but those bargins are clogging up my scraproom, so I need to stop. I like what I have and will continue to 100 pages and then I will go splurge on the supplies for a few layouts, taking the pictures to the store with me and matching the product to the pictures. All my bargins aren't really bargins if I don't end up using them. I've got to change my thinking on how I shop.

Elsabelle - I don't know that I've ever killed a paper pack. That would be a good goal though. I'm glad you are creating.

Michelle - I also struggle to use my favorites which is kind of silly because I have so many favorites and favorites look so, so good on a finished layout.

Mikklynn - You are off to a flying start.

Irisheyes - A friend of mine who likes to scrap (but doesn't have a lot of time) will take her pictures to the store with her and match everything including paper/embellies etc. One time she got home and bought 2 too many sheets of paper and took them back for a refund. I remember cracking up at the time - as I was buying every brand new SEI paper that just got off the truck. (that's how long ago this was). Her scrapping space is a small room that everything fits into one container. She gets more done than I do though

I'm still here and still frozen! I've had no time to even get near my scrap stuff the past couple weeks, nor do I see myself getting to until after Christmas. I was informed by my Bf that he wants me to pick out some scrap stuff and he'll buy it as part of my Christmas gift

I got a $50.00 GC from my coworkers to our LSS. I am beyond excited b/c I can now buy some wood veneers. I've seen them before but never bought or used any. I'm excited- I'm frozen and able to buy a few new things I don't have. They also bought me 5 pieces of Christmas paper - one is a sticker sheet. Pretty nifty stuff.

If I get a GC to Hobby Lobby I'll be able to buy a couple of things I've been eyeing. If not I'll make it til Oct 17th

YAY -

I am still counting down the days until I can devote some time to scrapping. I'll be done sewing and appliquing/ buying and wrapping gifts and baking and cooking.

Shecallsmenana,

What a great gift - have fun with it. I put all my scrap stuff up for a bit. I have so many other things I need to get done over Christmas break, so the scrap table is packed away, but I'm hoping to do at least two more layouts before the end of the year.

I finished two more layouts this week. I find I'm getting more creative on embellishments and making them, but that is okay - it means I use up more paper.

1 $100.00 Michael's GC.
1 $25.00 Hobby Lobby GC.
1 $75.00 Ikea GC (mmmm...maybe getting a RASKOG)
1 $20.00 ACMoore GC
$10 online GC that is still available here that i one over the summer.
1 GC to a not so LSS (in NJ, I'm in PA - about 1-1/2 to 2 hr drive).

what is a frozen girl to buy first????? oh the possibilities!!!

Wow, you got a lot of gift cards. Have fun.

I got two new Cricut cartridges for Christmas, so that will help with embellishments. I want to find some time to scrap. 65 more layouts to complete before I can go shopping.

Lizza31: Great job! Keep up the awesome work!

I've decided to continue to stay frozen and like Treyaut, go for a whole year. I know I have the supplies for it, I just have to stay disciplined. How is everyone else's frozen progres going? Any new resolutions for the new year?

I have had no problem remaining frozen. I really don't need anything scrappy. I have also had zero inspiration to create. I have been a frozen pea now for quite some time - from before the cute logo. ive downsized my stash considerably. Ive made myself use what i have. What I have found interesting is that now that I am not buying scrappy supplies I have been more interested in other things - ebooks, makeup, clothes, etc. less spending in one area may have resulted in a increase in other areas. My plan for 2014 is to make a dent in my stash if only to make it smaller and easier to contain. I would also like to play with my Cricut and Cuttlebug - both have been neglected and have never used items (cartridges and dies). In the past scrapping was more social for me. I would meet friends to crop. I haven't done that in a long time. I plan to bring back attending monthly crops with friends at the sole remaining lss in my area. Happy almost New Year frozen peas! What are your stash plans for 2014?

I'm still frozen I think. I got a $50.00 GC for my LSS and dh gave me $100.00 (he didn't have time to get to HL). So I spent my 50.00 GC at my LSS (luckily as they are no longer going to have a scrapbook section and what they have was very disappointing). I also spent $67.00 at HL. But now I'm back in the freezer and ready to get busy

I've also decided to take the January no spend (at all) challenge. Living well and spending less. I think I have dh on board as well. No going out to eat, no buying anything unnecessary. Use up what is in your freezer and pantry, only buy perishables for the month. And organize and clean the clutter. I can do it.

I have also done a layout and right now I'm working on a mini for a co-worker. Back in the craft room. Yay.

I am still frozen and haven't had much pressure to give into temptation. Prayer has really kept me focused and grounded to what my goal is. Again, reaching 365 days is far more important to me than adding more stuff to my stash.

I'm looking forward to continuing using up my beautiful current stash (oh it's so abundant and lovely) and just creating and capturing the moments.

Scrapbooking for me stops time and allows me a moment to reflect, and for 2014 that's what I'm getting back to. Not the needing, wanting and having it all, but knowing and being okay that my creativity is not crippled because I don't have what's "new and/or trendy".

2014 holds much promise for my finances. YAY!!!

Treyaut, I love what you said about how scrapping helps you remember and treasure those moments. I think that is one reason I scrap. I love thinking about the people I love.

I'm impressed by the willpower I see on this thread. You help me stay strong.

I am still in the freezer. I want to shop, but I will do this. I got two new Cricut cartridges from DH for Christmas, but otherwise, no new scrapping goodies. The cartridges will help me stay frozen.

I finished two more layouts this weekend. 63 more to go before I shop.

I set up my scrappy goals for 2014. I am going to completely freeze in two month segments. So I will freeze until the end of February, see if I need anything then refreeze until the end of April, and repeat. That way I can pick up things as needed but will remind myself I don't need much. I recently stepped out of the freezer and picked up my new album for 2014 and some new PL pages so I should have plenty to keep me busy for the next two months!

I CAVED!!! I CAVED!!! I FELL OFF THE WAGON LAST FRIDAY....let me hang my head in shame as I sort and find a home for my scrappy goods.

my lss is undergoing new ownership and liquidated everything at 75% off...and these were new, current releases too...things I normally shun (like Prima) because I refuse to pay $5 for a pack of flowers were now $1.50

...and the deals just kept coming and coming. so I was able to finally invest in some ink pads, several TH items and several other things that I would normally not purchase because it's out of my price range.

I'm extremely happy with my purchases...but SAD that I have to start my frozen status all over again!!! grrr....
