Scrappykindofgirl - YOU ROCK!!! I also cancelled my autoship back in July for those HSN minis. I don't need that, It will just sit and collect dust. I would love to see your Halloween mini. I made a Halloween mini as well. It's in my gallery.

Doesn't it feel good and freeing to be at a place of contentment. I hope you continue to stay strong and put an even bigger dent in that stash.

HOW'S MY OTHER FELLOW FROZEN PEAS DOING????? STAYING STRONG???

So far so good. I might thaw a bit tonight and pick up a PL kit at 40% off at M's. My DD wants to do an album for her summer trip to Germany and I don't have a lot of travel type things. She loves the PL style so I thought that might be the way to go. I figure that is more of a gift than a purchase...right?

It seems like I'm on a kick of using up 6 by 6 paper pads. How about the rest of you? What type of product do you feel like you are using more of in your current frozen state?

Yesterday I used a Simple Stories Snap Life 6x6 pad and journaling cards to get started on a current favorites layout. Recently I used a BG Hey Girl 6x6 pad on a few different projects and I loved them all! I love my 6x6 pads and I've been getting a lot more use out of them recently. Especially in the last 82 days.

Now that is something I need to dig into. I have at least 18 6 x 6 Paper Pads and none of them have been used. That's my next mission to crack those babies open and put them use. Thanks for the inspiration.

I'm staying strong. Ish. I haven't broken down and bought anything, but its so hard because I am really committed to finishing a December Daily this year, but realized (like others) that I don't really have any Christmas themed stuff. And believe me, there are a few really cute lines that are tempting me. I am going to have to shop my stash, get creative and stay strong.

Anyone have any December Daily albums to share that don't use a ton of Christmas product? I'm thinking I can get away with using Finnley (bought before I was frozen) and some Christmas stamps I have on hand. I'm hoping to work on it for the next few days. Stay strong...stay strong...stay strong...

Jens3-Could you use red chevron paper and Bazzill cardstock to supplement your December Daily? Stamp a holiday background? Insert a fabric page using holiday fabric?

Hi, everyone!
11 days frozen for me! I almost caved during the sale and new release of OA, but I HELD STRONG! Yay! How is everyone doing at using your stash? I also photographed my starting points that I made last week, and I will share those on my blog in the next day or two-I will post a link here when I get it up! And I am working on killing some kits and finishing those starting points!

Hi, friendly Peas!

I am a complete lurker here - in fact this is my first post! I have been so inspired by what I have read about your commitments to be frozen, frugal, and spend only what you need to complete your projects, that I have decided to join you! Before I found this group of you hanging out in the freezer, I put myself on a spending freeze for just the month of September. I held well to that, but the month of October has found me spending so much! Even though I have big plans for my purchases, and many of them will be used for Christmas gifts I am making, I need to get busy to complete those gifts before Christmas.

Today, as I was completing my online order for yet another Christmas paper collection (!!) after I had already told myself that I was done shopping... I realized I really do need help in the spending department. There always seems to be one more thing, one more paper pack, one more coupon to use. I purchased three new Christmas clear stamp sets recently, and then I saw there is another set coming (sneak peek) that I knew I needed - again, a realization that my self control is lacking.

So although I am kind of late to the game, I'd like to join you in the freezer until March, 2014. That is my commitment I am making to myself, and to you - my fellow frozen Peas. I have plenty of Christmas, winter and Valentine's Day scrap supplies, so I don't need any more. I will need to print photos, so I am allowing that expense for myself. I also have a subscription to the Silhouette store that is already paid for, so I will need to use my credits each month there.

Thank you for your encouragement to use my stash and enjoy the products I have already chosen and paid for!

I scrap to remember our blessings, to tell our stories, to celebrate our life.

Welcome into the freezer, 2remember! We have probably all been where you are at right now! I now it was that way for me- always one more coupon, one more collection that I "had to have", and my stash is outgrowing my space!I bought it because I loved it, so now I need to fall back in love with it, and use it! I decided to join frozen peas after realizing that I was spending gas and wasting time 3+ days per week, checking to see what TM, TJM, HL, etc, had gotten in, buying paper pad after paper pad-and even though I did and do like them, I have to stop spending for a little while, and actually use my purchases! These girls are such an inspiration to me, too!

Welcome 2Remember! I still struggle and have been frozen for a while now. Don't worry it DOES get easier. Like Margie I was wasting so much time, gas and energy going to look just in case or just because. I am SO over that! I have been in to get emergency stuff (stuff that broke ugh!) and that is it. I am struggling with doing this elf daily but with the already paid for sil sub I have I WILL make it work one way or another!

WAY TO GO PEAS!!!!!

One supply I have definitely found myself using more are my punches! My poor, poor, neglected punches. They sat for awhile completely unloved. Now that I am pushing myself to be more creative with what I have, I am thinking so much more out of the box! I've even felt more productive in my scrap room as well!

This week while making tags and other projects, I even pulled out the Pebbles Chalk, that I have barely used. As well as some chalking inkers, mist and used up 4 sheets of cardstock, 2 sheets of Christmas patterned paper and 25 7gypsies tag/ticket things. All of it older stash! Yesterday, while making my diy Halloween costume props, I used washi to help hold it together, while I worked on them.

2Remember - welcome into the freezer. i know you can make it to March 2014. i am sending a little strength and encouragement your way.....HERE IT GOES, I'M THROWING IT.....DID YOU CATCH IT!!!

OK I HAVE SOME NEWS!!!!! TODAY, YES TODAY, MARKS MY 90TH DAY FROZEN.
WOOHOO!! HALLELUJAH!!! YIPEE!!! YAY!!

Ok, I'm done celebrating. I hope all my fellow frozen peas are doing well on your freeze. Remember, there is always another coupon, another sale, another new line, another pretty PP, another opportunity, another discount. We are stronger than we give ourselves credit for, and we can reach our goals. I only have 275 days to go.

Happy Hump Day to you all. Thanks for always encouraging me and sharing your advice, insight, support and triumphs.

21 days frozen here! And still going strong. I was going to have to get page protectors and a baby album, but when I went shopping with my mom this past weekend, she wanted to buy them for me, plus an 8x8 album so I can do a gift album for my brother and his family of our family reunion we had in June. So now all I will need to buy are my photos (or ink and paper for my printer so I can print from home)and some glue dots.
I am finding that I am using my punches more to create embellishments that I need. I am also finding that I am looking at my stamps more to see what I have. I haven't actually used them yet (stamping has never been a strong technique of mine), but I actually might start!

Wow..you guys are AWESOME!! Since having twins 5yrs ago (and trying to stick to a budget of some kind) I go out with photos/project in mind and buy items specifically for that. But last week I totally did not do that and bought 2 PL kits cause I had coupons. I don't even do PL YET!! Although I redeemed myself (maybe) this past weekend doing my swap Daily December pages with only stuff I printed out from my Sil and stuff I had in my stash (I posted it in my gallery). There's only one thing I struggle with, and thats doubt...I think that the item I made isn't as good as it could be, because I didn't buy the "latest" to make it?! But on the other hand I like using what I have because I think it forces you to be a lot more creative. You all are insipring

Welcome, 2remember!

Any other lurkers out there that would like to join us?

I'm hoping to get some scrapping time this afternoon. My goal for the month was to get 31 layouts done. I have two layouts that need titles and journaling and two more layouts than need titles, journaling, and bit of embellishing. I don't know if I'll reach my goal but I'll definitely try!

Is anyone thinking about scrapping goals for November yet? I have a vacation mini that I'd like to complete. I'd also like to get started on 2012 pictures but before I do that I have to edit and order pictures. That's usually a long, time consuming project for me because I edit and order a big batch. I'm not looking forward that that part but once I get them I have lots of scrapping to do.

Ok I thawed a little today after 3 months. I bought a Autumn paper stack - but I did talk with my accountability partner about it and I had about 10 pieces of autumn paper left and since I will be frozen 3 years we decided it was okay for me to buy it to cover the next 3 years. I do many Autumn pages. So back to the freezer now.

Dawn THREE YEARS?!?!?! I am sorry WHY!? There is no way I could do that so WOOHOOOO for you!

I have a confession, a friend gave me a gift card to Ms since I cut her out 1000's butterflies, so I went yesterday and was able to score the rest of the goodies for my Secret Elves (I have two) and some leaf sequins for my thankful album but I only spent 14 of the 25 so YAY!

And I thought being frozen for a few months has been hard, 3 years is quite a challenge! Good luck!

I've been considering doing a layout a day as a goal for November, I've always wanted to try it and things will be quieter for me that month, so it's much more attainable.

And I agree about the gift cards, they don't count since it's a gift to you so happy shopping!

I've decided I'm going to attempt a December Daily this year and started pulling from my stash last night. I even found an album that will work for it.

If you all are really wanting to bust your stash I am going to be hosting a thread a week to post your thankful/gratitude albums through end of Nov. Should be lots of inspiration!

Thanks ladies for the encouragement. Our church is building a permanent building and my friend and I decided we would not spend any money on scrap supplies (we can get adhesive and blade refills and neutral card stock if we need it) , We are donating the money from our budget we would spend on supplies to the church building fund. the fundraising is for 3 years (already 4 months into it) so that was our commitment.

And I think Gift Certificates don't count as being unfrozen, those are gifts!

Ladies, you are quite encouraging! Thank you for all your posts.

Starting today I am officially Frozen. I am only allowing myself to buy adhesive, photos and page protectors. There, it's written down so it's official!

My husband and I decided we are reading to start a family and so all my scrapbook budget will be going to savings. I don't have a definitive date to become unfrozen, but I will allow myself 1 purchase of baby paper and embellies once I am pregnant and find out the gender, but who knows how long that may be!

I'm thinking of setting a goal for # of scrapbook pages made instead of a date as my target. Then just set a $ amount to spend and be frozen again until another goal. What type of goals do you ladies have?

Krystal T- I'm setting a goal for 6 months. I got the baby stuff I need and then froze myself. I figure I have plenty in my stash to get me to April and then I can determine if I need anything specific or if I can reward myself with a few new things and refreeze for another 6 months. Plus all of our extra money will pretty much go to the additional expenses that come with baby, so I may not have much choice in refreezing.

Hi Krystal welcome to the FRREEEEZZZER.. BRRRRRR Cold..not really it's warm with all the encouragement.

So lets see we now have Kristol (that's me), Crystal (Caitlynsmommy) and Krystal (Krystal T). OH YEAH!!! Come on girls let's show them what's in a name. LOL!!!

Ladies, I did a two page LO out yesterday with some very old stash. OMGoodness, two pagers are not my thing, but I did it and I like, dont' love it, but I used up some 5-6 year old Crate Paper line called Little Sprouts (it's in my gallery if you wanna check it out).

I am rolling along on my 91st day. Have a beautiful blessed evening ladies. I believe in you all and I am so proud of OUR progress..

So I went to a Wilton's sale today, they had tons and tons of scrapbooking stuff. They have EK success and jolees, smash books and so on. I know the girl real well, we always swap product. (i work for a company that has laundry detergent, toothpaste, etc etc) She told me to help myself to whatever I wanted. I only went for baking stuff and like a frozen pea stayed away from all scrapbook related. In the past 6 years I have gotten my share of stuff from her so until I make a dent in my stash free or not it doesn't come into my house

Three weeks of frozen under my belt over here!

I'm doing ok too!

I really started thinking about the scrappy things I'm putting on my Christmas list so I can continue on my frozen journey.

I think asking for Selphy paper/ink refills are super important. That saves me $30 on each refill pack which I can stretch a good time over the year. It yields a little over 100 prints, so if I received one or two I would be good for awhile.

I'm also asking for a variety of adhesive refills for my stocking because I'm a bit of an over-adhere queen.

Finally, I am hoping for a gift card to my LSS or here at 2 Peas so I can buy the new Snap lines coming out.

On a happy note, in my 3 weeks frozen I have canceled, not bought, and saved (based on my old spending habits) a total of a good $150!
I'm proud of me and thank all the frozen peas for the positive support here in the freezer!

I must confess my sin. I was doing SO well almost 2 months and today it all came crashing down but it was an AWESOME deal and I had to. I scored SIX 12X12 d ring WRMK Faux Leather albums( the only ones I use and normally 25 each) for 24.00 all together. FOUR DOLLARS AN ALBUM! AND I had 11 left on my gift card so I got them all technically for 13. I am ok with the fall since I know I iwll use these and well it was a rock bottom deal! YAY!

YAY!

I couldn't pass up a deal like that either and besides, albums are on my list of things that are OK to buy. Like I tell my husband, sometimes you have to spend money to save money.

I got two layouts done this morning! That makes 28 layouts since I've been frozen. I have another half finished layout on my table that I'm hoping to finish up today.

Anyone else scrapping today?

@elsaBelle: I'm trying to get some scrappy time in today as our house has been a bit of a revolving door of out of town family visiting/staying in the past 6-7 weeks. I need a creative break I think I need a goal to get 4 LOs done between today and tomorrow. And start 1 Christmas gift. The list is longer than I have time for right now!

Hi all! 16 days frozen for me! Today was tough... we went to Target, and I saw all kinds of scrappy stuff on clearance-all of that cute Halloween stuff, Sharpie pens...and so on. But I resisted! I must admit, I picked it up-but then I put it back down. I do not need more Halloween stuff this year! I have a hard time resisting clearances/sales, etc. But there will always be more!I got scrappy for a while last night, and plan on getting scrappy for a while today, too, while the hubs watches/sleeps through college football! How is everyone else doing?

I actually scrapped two layouts last night and two today so far. I am only holding off the journaling, I usually wait until I know for certain what I want to say so I don't ramble and then run out of space. As for the frozen part, I am hanging in there and it has gotten easier. I've even gotten out my neglected stamp stash to make embellishments and backgrounds on cardstock. So I'm pretty pleased at how more resourceful with my stash being frozen has made me.

Crystal, that is a GREAT deal. Albums, page protectors, adhesive and blades are on my list of needed (not wanted unjustified) items.

Heidi, out of town guests for 6-7 weeks would make me bonkers! I'm a pretty severe introvert, though. I hope you're moving along towards your goal.

Grant17, I tend to hold off on journaling, too. If I don't plan it I ramble.

I'm working on two Current Favorites layouts at the same time and they're driving me crazy because they're so time consuming. They both have 9 rectangles in a grid with a layered rectangle on top with journaling. Then I decided to add a mat to each journaling spot. All with rounded corners Plus embellishing. That's more work than usual for me but I know I'll love them when they're done.

86 days frozen and counting...

I've been stalking this thread for a while. My weakness is shopping at yardsales for scrap stuff because the prices are so low, but I can't even fit all my paper on the shelves in my craft room any more. I am joining you in the freezer. I will still buy blades, albums, and adhesive, but other than that, no more of anything else until I create 100 layouts. This may help me pick up the pace so that I can go shopping again. I am not even going to buy neutral card stock or stamping ink. I have so much stuff it takes me forever just to decide what to use. I nearly bought a scrap kit subscription today until I re-read this thread.

Thanks to all of you for your inspiration on loving and using what I've already paid for.

Welcome to the freezer Catherine. I had to stop attending the lss garage sales because my stash was just out growing my space. I ended up cutting my stash by half and then stepping into the freezer. I found that a lot of what I let go of was from great deals that I didn't want to miss out on. I feel as if time in the freezer has been a bit like entering scrap stash rehab... I am longer bringing stuff in constantly and I am no longer always shopping for something new. There is definitely something inspiring about opening and using supplies that I already own. You can do it!

Welcome Catherine. I totally get what you are saying. Just because it's on sale, we make an excuse to purchase it. Even if we don't really like it, if we already own it, and even if it's not our style. IT'S ON SALE!!! I CAN'T PASS THIS UP. But in reality, now that I am frozen, yes I can and I will pass it up. Sale for me no longer equals Gotta buy it.

So welcome to our little frozen town. I look forward to hearing about your 100 page progress.

I confess...I fell out of the freezer. But not too bad! I went to M's to look at the PL kits and ended up buying the Becky Higgins corner rounder and a 6x6 pad of paper. Then I went to HL and bought a Becky Higgins mini PL set for $6.99 with my 40% off coupon. I have decided at the last minute to include a 30 Days of Thankful section in my PL this year.

Thank you for not judging me, Peas!

Thanks for the nice welcome Treyaut and andtyler. Luckily I've only bought things I like that I think I can use. I just need to stay busy using what I have so that I can make room for what I have. I finished two layouts tonight and five cards, but the cards don't count as part of my 100 page total - I was just running low on cards. I am excited about doing this. I hope I can stay excited when the day comes that I really want to shop because that day will come. Tonight all the paper I used was out on my scrap desk. The paper for the cards was all scraps, so my table is a little neater tonight. It feels good to be using stuff up.

I will allow myself a small scrappy reward as soon as I complete 100 layouts - 98 to go.

Welcome, Catherine (and anyone else I failed to mention but is newer than me)!

I have been frozen for 3 weeks (I think!). I need to go back and count how many days.
I finished 2 pages tonight, and I started a 3rd that I hope to finish tomorrow. On the 3rd I am pulling a Wilna F and using at least half of a pkg of clear acetates I was hoarding for ??? (Insert an excuse here). They are 3+ yrs old. I am thrilled with myself.

Since I was feeling thrilled, it seemed like a good time to make a goal:
I'm frozen until Feb 11, 2014 with the goal to create at least 60 pages, create and/or finish 4 minis (specific ones I have already started or planned), and use my scrap supplies on at least 5 other projects (mainly Christmas gifts for family/friends). Exceptions of adhesive, ordering photos, and I think that is it. Also, gift cards can be used without compromising frozen status. Because I am also kicking my starbuck's iced chai tea latte habit at the same time (oh.my.goodness.please.pray.for.my.DH.and.kids.) I am going to set aside $5-10 each week so if I feel the need to blow it and hop out of the freezer, I have funds so I won't let guilt grab hold and can just hop back into the cold. Or if the sweet siren of starbuck's sucks me back in to the "dark side". In addition, I committed the monthly funds I often spent on supplies to another place (a charity), so that's that.
It's been a GOOD week, frozen peas.

Welcome everyone!

So after yesterday I have decided to redo my frozen, before it was completely frozen nothing at all but now I am going to try a "reward" system. I need a kick in the pants to get creating again. I have not made much in months and it is making my mood a bit sour lately. So here is my revised Frozen status. For every page I do it is 1.00, double layouts are 2, and cards are 4 since I despise doing cards, COMPLETED mini albums are 15 and altered projects are 5. I will keep a running total as I start creating. I hope this works a bit more!
