This makes me laugh because I remember a few years ago stores couldn't give them away. Both M and HL had them on clearance for pretty much nothing and inks less than a buck.

Not what you asked but I use my spellbinder, with press paper, and plates and it works great.

I was thinking about trying to find a way to use the press plates in my cuttlebug without having to buy the stater kit.. I don't mind spending the $60 for the kit but I know its not something I will use all the time so to me I would rather spend that money on a different tool that I would use.. I'm trying to search for the "sandwich" technique or "how to use press plates in the cuttlebug without the letterpress kit" & if it works good then ill forget about buying the lp kit altogether.. Maybe now I should change this post lol

Some larger JoAnn stores have the kit with the Epic Six and all the accessories on clearance for $44.97. What state do you live in? I work for JoAnn and could find out for you tomorrow which stores in your state should have it.

Thanks so much! I live in NJ 08889 all the js are pretty far from me but I do make trips from time to time so I might make one If one of them has the kit if I don't get the kit I still need other things from js

I also found a tutorial on how to letterpress using just the plates without the platform in your cuttlebug.. Sounds like it would work really well.. If anyone is interested here's the Link

I managed to scoop a used one off of ebay for $20.

Inks I imagined to find in NZ (locally) at around 3/4$ for each ink, plate set, and tool kit was $20.

I'm still enjoying this - and think that this was a really good kit that hit a peak before it took off.

Good news for the rest of us that are wanting to scoop it up for cheap though!

I have one held for 45 minutes from home but I don'tgave a car and buses don't run there! Sigh. (Obviously I had it held before I realized I couldn't get there via public transit. What else is new?)

I have an AC Moore 20 mins from home.. Ill have to check there! Thanks! The closes js is 45 mins away and its a very small store so I highly dout they have it, there are other js but even further it wouldn't be worth the gas to travel there I would end up paying more then $60 (which is what I can pay now on the site) has anyone ever seen it sold at michaels?? Ms is about the only sb store close to me thanks for all the info!

My HL used to carry the kit, inks and cards/papers. I got mine when I first started scrapping 3 years ago and use it with my BigShot rather than the Epic Six. I saw a pile of the starter kits on clearance there about 6 months ago for $30 bucks. I wish the craze would have taken off when they were still easy to find, perhaps they wouldn't have been relgated to the clearance area. I still do see the inks and plates in the clearnace section off and on, so if you have an HL near you I would check there!

Hope you find one. I love mine, I did my own wedding announcements with it!

You can call your Joann's, they'll be able to tell you over the phone if they have it.

I am the person who got the starter kit for $15 - I opened it and tried it one time. I would be glad to sell it to someone for what I paid for it plus shipping. It is just the starter kit - not the Epic machine. I also have about 6 of the actual letterpress sets if anyone is interested in those. It was one of those things where I thought I would love it and then I bought it and I never got around to using it! Just didn't have the time - it is sitting in my sell bucket. Please email me at gslmarvin at gmail.com if you are interested.

There is a store in Utah that has tons of quickutz/lifestyle stuff. I know she ships and much of it is at reduced prices. Its Treasured Memories. 801-478-4441. Her store literally has everything. I believe the owners name is Alyssa.

could you post the URL that's on Craigslist? Can you estimate how much the postage would be?

HI, sorry I'm traveling and relying on others for internet until the weekend. I can take it to the post office if you want to private message me your post code and I'll have them weigh it for an estimate.
