I have been scrapping for almost 20 years and have always used 3 ring binders, but they are various colors, sizes, etc. I would like them to look nice but I have a teeny tiny budget. Do your albums match?

The only time mine match is if a year crosses into more than one album then I like them to match but I usually go out of my way to pick a new album each year. I love the clean look of having them all the same however it also seemed a tad boring to me so I mix it up.

I have post and 3-ring in varying shades of blues and greens. I made spine labels for easy identification and a cohesive look.

Staci, I scrap 12 x 12 only and mine are housed in both post bound and 3 ring D binder. Mine do not match in color but the brand are either Making Memories or WRMK and are either leather or leather embossed.

Well, mine match in that they are all in fact albums. Other than that I have all colors and patterns, plus I have some strap hinge and some 3 ring binders. LOL or hahaha (for those that think LOL is outdated). I have been scrapbooking for about 30 years though!

Now they will, I just received an order of 6 black AC Cloth 12x12 d-ring albums. Putting all my layouts away is going to be my "while watching TV project" for the next couple of days.

Thanks for your responses! I have a friend who always calls my albums notebooks. "We have to get you some real albums. Those are for school work." Of course, she sells albums, but I can't afford them.

My 50+ albums are all CM and each yr is a different color. All are embossed with the months that the album covers. Of course, that is not an option any longer and I do not know what my plan B is!!! I think I will go the route of CTMH albums, I just wish they came in more colors.

Staci, if I recall you are a 8-1/2 x 11 scrapper, is that correct? All the more reason to use a binder of your choice. I think it's great that you are using regular binders. If it bothers her that much maybe she can RAK you a few "fancy-expensive" binders that will do the same thing your "school" binder does, which is house your fantastic creations.

Is it really that serious, does you LOs look any less creative. Hah!!! I think not. Don't fall into the trap of having to have big named fancy matchy binders, esp when you are on a budget. You know how many scrapbookers are broke, in debt, over budget because they have to have the "new", the "in", the "trendy", the "best". I applaud you. Keep doing what works for you.

Mine don't match. Most of my albums are 12x12 3-ring AC or WRMK, but they are all different colors because I loved so many of the colors available. Some older albums are various postbound and a couple of CM. They are different colors too and all together on the same bookshelf.

I like the idea that someone mentioned about tagging them the same way to add cohesiveness. I'll have to try that.

I have all kinds of random ones. The only thing I do pay attention to (other than the price) is that the albums for my DD are pink and the albums for my DS (6 months old, haven't started scrapping for him yet, but I sure have begun collecting!!), are blue. I have 3 Colorbok ones, but that's pure coincidence.

Mine are all CM and each child has a different color scheme - burgundy, purple, pink, and dark green. Have been scrapping for 16 years and the available colors have changed so the albums don't match exactly. I do plan to tag them all to match with a round metal tag tied with ribbon to an alligator clip.

No. I have different colors. Plus I used to nearly always buy Hiller brand albums and the lss does not carry them any more. So if I need any new ones they definitely will not match. Not sure if that company is even in business now.

No. They are all fabric covered, but that is the only similarity. I intentionally bought different colors when I started scrapping because I want to have a rainbow of colors on my shelf!

Yes. I am strictly an 8.5 x 11 scrapper. I actually had to show my friend some D ring binders in ACM because she didn't believe that they were made for scrapbooking. I guess using one brand for everything makes one less aware of what else is out there.

Most are 12 by 12 D ring binders but I do have old post-bound from when I started scrapping. The D ring albums are various colours but mostly made by American Crafts.

My pages are sorted by year. 2004-2013 (and 2014 and 2015, I stocked up) are AC brown D-ring. It was the only color that M's sold for a while so that's what I went with...

The kids school albums are AC green D-ring (my 2 boys) and blue AC D-ring (my 2 girls). I originally was going to use these along with/mixed in with the brown yearly albums but then I got tired of having to order them online.

I have two AC red albums that I am going to use for a project 365 that I did a few years ago...

Mostly, yes. I do have a few Mrs. Grossman's post bound albums that I will eventually switch all to 3-Ring because they will end up falling apart due to the weight of the pages. I started buying AC cloth albums, but wasn't crazy about those either. I'm still using some, but all new albums will be WRMK. Those are 3 different are black or navy, beach/cruise albums are aqua blue and road trips are in kiwi.

Mine are all from the same company and same style (but not the same color), except for our family album, which is whatever strikes my fancy that year. This year it's the PL binder from the Honey Edition

I wish mine were all the same but I'm a sale shopper, too. So I've got half AC Cloth (Tuesday morning was selling the 12x12 ones for $7.50!) and some WRMK leather and a few Becky Higgins ones as well. This does kind of bother me, so at some point I may swap them around and get rid of the BH ones at least, but I do like that they're different colors.

I have such a hodgepodge of mismatched albums. I started with CM types without the spine covers, have CM's with the spine covers, pioneer postbounds and all sorts of 3 ring binders. Every color and print you could imagine.

I always thought it would be a good idea to make and sell those nylon stretchy bookcovers in a 12x12 size. That way my old original CM open spine albums would be protected better and I could somewhat have a matched set of books on my bookshelves.

Who's going to make and sell them. I'll be your first customer.

I started out using the CTMH brown leather albums. Then my CTMH rep quit so I switched to AC black 3 ring because they are cheap and easy to find.

I wish I stuck with CTMH. I hate how the pages slide out of the rings and the page protectors sag when the album is on the shelf. The AC albums don't hold nearly as many pages either.

I am thinking of switching back. But probably one album at a time to make it easier on my budget.

I have a mix of colors, types, sizes and manufacturers. I figured I was in this for the long haul and it would be unlikely for any one album type/color to stay in vogue for as long as I planned to scrap. So I choose the album cover based on the contents of the album, availability and what I think is cute at the time I need to buy one.

None of my other book covers match so why should my albums need to match?

I've been scrapping for years. When I started out, I bought one (or more) binder(s) for a particular project, usually vacation related. My project life albums have matched the edition of Project Life I'm using, up until this year. I'm going to start using the faux leather albums in black, and continue to use those year after year. I'm thinking I want to have a more consistent look going forward. I might still use different ones for other projects. We'll see...

Mine do match. I buy an album when I can afford it and I put a single years worth of layouts in it. I took Shimelles cover to cover class and that inspired me.

My albums don't match, because they all have different themes, and I prefer them that way. However, when I begin PL, I will likely purchase a WRMK album, but I'll purchase a new color for each year after.

I have all K&Co from back in the day but have switched to WRMK 12x12s. They are color coordinated for the person ie. Yellows for my daughter, purples for me, tropical blue for vacations etc...I am mulling over changing the old K&Co's over to those, too. I love how clean they look.

Mine don't match, but I have a couple of themes :
- my wedding took two albums to scrap and are in matching CM
- my Christmas albums are all green (but in different brands)
- my yearly albums for the first 5 or 6 years we were married were all K&Company with the picture hole in front

The rest are a mixture of whatever style/color I liked when I needed a new album

I have a mixture of albums. It's something that my mil always seems to buy me. Of course not all of my layouts are actually in the albums. I have a stack of albums (maybe 10 or so) and three separate piles of layouts. One for each dd. Bad I know. I have maybe two 4 albums full of layouts.

I wish I had all D ring albums. That is what I will buy if I ever fill up the albums I already have.

Mine match....
I have 5 different colours of WRMK linen 12x12 D-ring albums....each colour is for a different category of scrapping (people we love, places we go, things we do, all about us, etc.)
Unfortunately, they don't make the linen albums anymore....I was able to buy up a few spares but if I go through those, I don't have another plan!
