Hey Sweet Peas!

Happy Sunday! I worked about a zillion hours last week, so I haven't had time to visit, but I missed you alll. We are in the middle of budget season and have three audits coming in November, so we have been really busy. I have one more week to make it until my last 2 VP's that I hired start to work, which will really lighten my load once they are trained.

I haven't hauled myself to the doc yet...but I know that I have to go. Most of my work days I don't have time to pee, so leaving to go to the doc hasn't really been much of an option. I am scheduled to be off this week from Wednesday on (as long as I get the grant that I'm writing done by Wednesday), so I can call him to go in after that. I started doing yoga last week and thought the stretching might help, but it didn't. I have serious doctor phobia but I am going to have to get over it. When I had the brain surgery they also did work on my spine and fused my 5th & 6th vertebra in my neck (& removed the 1st one). I knew that the 7th one was starting to move out of place 3 years ago when I saw the doc last, so I'm guessing that it finally moved enough to cause some trouble...I just don't want to hear it.

The fam and I went to the kids shelter at my office yesterday and helped put on a big fall party for the kids. It was a ton of fun! We brought in a petting zoo, decorated pumpkins and did a bunch of games & crafts with the kids. I did the cooking and fixed dinner, it was a really nice day. I feel really fortunate to get to do the kind of work that I do, it keeps me grounded.

Our kids are on fall break this week, which is happy. Olivia is home from college for the week too. The girls and I are planning a girls day on Wednesday, so that should be a nice day. We took Grif to Incredible Pizza Company today after church with some friends, so he's had a nice day. I'm looking forward to spending some time in my scrappy room with Olivia later this week too. We always have fun when we craft together. I have a bunch of pics that I need to get printed so that I'm inspired to scrap when I'll have the time.

Sherry - It's good to see you stopping by to hang with us! It sounds like your kids have been keeping you really busy.

Well, I need to go upstairs and help Olivia get dinner together. Have a nice evening ladies!

Tina

Tina I understand the doctor phobia but it's time to schedule an appointment for late next week. Better to know what you're dealing with and what you can do to feel better than to let your imagination run with it.

That said, I started weeding through the affordable healthcare options today and I'm totally confused...since I will need to have my health care be the same as the boys, but up to now we've had completely different doctors from different organizations so not sure how to do that since I have an on-going illness. Guess I need to start calling doctor's offices and see who takes what insurance and find out how this is going to affect my meds. So not looking forward to having to navigate that again...hope I can get this figured out quickly.

We're home, came in last night so we could sleep in our own bed. Randy snored like crazy Saturday night and kept me and the dogs up. Kate woke up when the dog barked once at 2:30 and couldn't get back to sleep either. She and I had a good morning yesterday but I never could get the stencils cut for her to paint Julianne's name on the nursery wall. She found a font she wanted to use but the stencil materials (yes I went out four different times and bought different stuff to use) to cut with the silhouette never worked right. I'm sure it's the operator and not the machine. Anyway, it was a pain. Did get her to pick out an album to put the baby album in, she thinks it is for photos of the baby, doesn't know I'm doing the comparison album.

Tina, call the doctor this morning!

Mandy, good to see you.

Melanie, hope DH is doing well and you're not to overwhelmed playing nurse.

Nylene, same with you!

Debi, my brother's trying to figure out that healthcare nightmare too! I know there are people that are helping but you have to be careful with those too because there are scams everywhere.

Waving at anyone I missed!

HAVE to get this messy place cleaned up and hope to finish the album by tomorrow so I'll be scarce.

Home from the game...both varsity (tournament) and junior varsity had games which were at the same field but way south of town. Ended up filling up the van and taking 6 kids to the game (2 more than usual) and bringing a couple different ones home. Guess that's why I have a van. Both teams lost but had spirited games and did pretty well especially given this was against the top team of the league. It was dry (thankfully) but chilly (mid-40's) even in my winter coat. The boys kept warm in their tees and shorts by running up and down the field but I was happy to head home. Now I've downed a cup of hot tea and am sitting under the heated throw trying to warm up, but I need to head downstairs in a few minutes and fix something for dinner...not sure what, but something.

I hear we have another game tomorrow (usually we don't have anything on Tuesdays) and one on Thursday...what were they thinking? Plus we have an all day event on Saturday about 2 hrs away... I need some electric socks.

Not much else happening.

We have a very busy week this week. Sorry to just post and run. I still have lots of prep work for Cubs tomorrow and will be out of town on Wed.
Hopefully I'll have a few minutes to chat and scrap on Thurs.

Posting to bump up the thread but also to let you know that I'm hanging in there. I'm working on the last double page spread of the baby album. I will still need to pick up a family tree page from a LSS and add elements to a few of the other pages but WILL be as done this afternoon as I need to be by this weekend!!! Going shopping with Trish at 4 to pick up stuff for the shower we're throwing on the 10th.

Aunt Joyce is hanging in there but I've never seen her so weak. Extra prayers that the procedure tomorrow works.

My brother is also still being held hostage at the hospital. He said he's eating okay now and hasn't had any abdominal pain since yesterday but they still have him on IV fluids and haven't said anything about discharging him.

Got some stuff for decorations for the shower last night, whoo hoo. Michelle didn't get to go but I know she'll approve of what we bought (she's helping to pay for it). Still have to get the food items and I'm taking the invitations today to address while I wait for Joyce's procedure to be completed.

Speaking of Joyce, she has her heart cath at 4 this afternoon (CDT).

My brother got to come home and he is feeling much better. He's off work til Monday so he can recover from being in the hospital for so many days.

That's it for me, didn't sleep well (worried) and I overslept this morning so I'm behind.

Welcome to my thread! Doesn't look like anyone gas been here but me.

Joyce came through the procedure. 40% blockage. Not enough for a stent. Thinks he can treat it with meds. He is not sure what's going on with her but says he doesn't think it's all heart. IF she does good, we will get to go home at 1145 tonight.

Hi THERESA, sorry I haven't posted, I've lurked but I'm quite ill at the moment and sitting up is painful. Didn't want you to think you are all alone though. Hope JOYCE pulls through. She sure has had a rough year. Glad you are there for her. Wish you were here for me; I could use a nurse's opinion.

Ok back to bed.

Debi, sorry you're ill. Hope you feel better soon.

Got home a little before 1 a.m. this morning. Have to get Randy to Madisonville at 10:30 (just 30 miles away in the opposite direction) to have his esophagus stretched. Have to go to Joyce's tonight at 5 to remove her pressure dressing and check for hematomas or complications. I'm thinking a really early bedtime tonight is in my future!

Home already. Randy's procedure went fine, except for him biting his lip. Doc said no strictures noted. He did find a tertiary motility problem (muscles in the esophagus are not following the normal pattern to bring food down, they're kind of doing their own thing). He did several biopsies in his esophagus and stomach due to what he believes is gastritis. He thinks upping Randy's med will help and he also needs to slow down eating and exercise would help. Going to take a nap. I'm beat.

Friday already?! My week has flown by. It has taken me a week to just read this page...

Debi - hope you are feeling better. Don't go running around in the rain till you do.

Theresa - Thinking of Aunt Joyce but glad Randy is ok. Can just imagine how tired you must be.

My boys have their school athletics meet today and it's raining! Ugh, 90 yesterday and today it rains. Murphy is up to his tricks again!

Good Morning Peas! Happy Friday!

I am off work today...yay! I didn't end up getting to be off on Wednesday, I was still finalizing our grant submission, but it's done now. Yesterday I read Divergent, my girls had read it and loved it, so I thought that I'd better catch up with them. I'm going to try to read the rest of the series this weekend, I really liked the first one.

O and I are going down to the scrappy room here in a minute. I wanted to scrap yesterday, but I picked up a sore throat, so I decided to read instead, I didn't feel creative, but I'm feeling a lot better today.

Debi - I hope that you feel better soon!

Theresa - Glad that Aunt Joyce did okay with the procedure. I hope that she her treatment works and that she gets to feeling better. Congrats on getting that baby album knocked out, you are a lot faster than I am.

Michelle - It always seems strange to me that you are on such an opposite schedule for the seasons. It's just starting to get cold here, we had our first freeze of the year. I'm not a fan of winter at all, I dread all of the snow and cold, but I do like wearing sweaters and cozy clothes...so that is the upside of it.

Well, I'm going to get off here, otherwise no scrapping will get done. Hope you all have a really nice day!

Tina

Hey girls,

sorry it's been so long. I do stop by on occasion when I can to try to keep up, but some weeks, the days just fly by.

I took today off and I'm going to see the doc at 11:30. Seems like I probably have strep, and I'm thinking sinus and ear infections along with it. Kevin has mono so he's been off work for over a week as he works at a nursing home and they don't want him there. he's still feeling pretty crummy, but not as bad as he was at first. Meg's boyfriend has an upper respiratory infection. Larry always starts to feel crummy when everyone else does So Megs and Cooper are the only ones hanging on right now, LOL. So obviously can't go to school, or to J's tonight. Last night I worked for someone else and by the end of the night, I knew that I was really getting sick. I couldn't even talk...LOL, that's a first.

Tina - glad you're reading the Divergent series...they're amazing! I am hoping to pick up the last one tomorrow. I've gotten so many people reading it, it's crazy. The teacher that introduced me to it is almost finished with the last one and she's sorry the writer didn't continue on with it. She says it's really, really good! So I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Well, anyway, hoping everyone has a great day. I hear all the troops waking up, although everyone is home these days, LOL. Makes for a small house, LOL.

Hug, everyone, and hope everyone has a great day.

Toni, Jackson just started the last book of the Divergent series and Trish has started the series. They both say I need to read them. Hope you're already on the mend, sounds like the whole house needs to be quarantined.

Debi, hope you're feeling better now too.

Tina, did you make a doctor appointment?

I've been coughing since I took Joyce to the hospital on Wednesday after we drove past a field where they had just used some kind of fertilizer. Other than being tired I don't feel sick.

We're in Lexington already. We've been hiding Jeremy all day because he was supposed to be working this afternoon but took off so he could go pick up family at the airport tonight. We went by Kate's BFF's house where they shipped present and loaded, and I do mean loaded, J's car up and brought them back to the hotel. I'm wrapping some and leaving some for her sister and Mom to wrap tomorrow. We're all going to surprise Kate at a restaurant in the morning instead of waiting to surprise her at the shower. Jeremy talked her into taking a vacation day tomorrow "so they could work on the nursery" because the baby furniture was supposed to come today (it didn't). He decided that if she had the choice of waiting to be surprised tomorrow night or spending the day with her Mom, Sister and soon to be SIL, she'd rather do that.

Probably won't get back on until Sunday.

Just letting you know I'm alive and well, but just have had no time to scrap, chat or read this week. Hugs to all who are sick, or have sickies at their homes. I'll try to catch up in a few days.

Good Morning Peas!

I thought I would check in this morning before I start my housecleaning this morning. I read the Insurgent book yesterday, it was really good too. I'm waiting for Olivia to finish Allegiant and then I can finish the series. I really like it so far, but not as much as Hunger Games. I really like dystopia stories though, so it's right up my alley.

I'm thinking about trying to do the 30 days of Thankfulness this year. I haven't decided if I should try to scrap it or just do it by photos on Instagram. I'd prefer to scrap it, but my scrappy time is so limited that I'm afraid that I won't get it done. It will probably end up being more like 12.5 days of thankfulness or something like that.

Toni - I hope that you & your family get to feeling better. It sounds like you have disease central going on at your house. I'm hoping that my kids don't catch the crud that I have right now.

Theresa - I made the executive decision not to go to the doctor. I think the yoga is starting to help with my disc issue, so I wanted to give the less invasive approach another week or so before I break down & go, but it hasn't been hurting as much, so I'm thinking that it's getting better.

Well, I better get moving. I want to reorganize my closet this weekend and that will take some time. Take care ladies and have a happy day.

Tina

Hi Chatty Scrappers. SOrry I haven't been too chatty. Here's why.

I am in the hospital. took myself to urgent care Thursday morning because I woke Wednesday with pain in my right side and not being able to grab a deep breath...spent all day Wednesday trying to convince myself it was just sleeping in a bad position (well it could have been, right?) but after not getting any sleep Wednesday night I decided to get it checked out.

Once I got to urgent care, they took an xray, EKG and a CAT scan and found out I have pneumonia in both lungs with fluid in the right lung. They admitted me to the hospital, despite my protests. Then I was swabbed for the H1N1 flu and yep got that too. So I've been in isolation--feel like an alien since anyone wanting to come into my room has to put gown, mask and gloves on. I've been on 2 IV antibiotics, fluid IVs, vicodin and ibuprofen, and a myriad of other drugs. Sometimes I feel ok, sometimes I feel horrible (the later at the moment-usually follows eating when I get warm (although not showing a fever and a bit nauseous). I did throw up my breakfast yesterday but I blame it on the butter they cooked the eggs in -- too rich for my stomach. The docs seem worried about my low blood pressure 84-87/45-54 but it isn't all that uncommon for me to have a reading of 90/60 so I'm thinking it isn't that much off the norm. Anyway I will be here minimally through tomorrow and maybe longer (I hope not). It was very stressful trying to make last minute arrangements for the boys' care and most important for them to get to the game Thursday (as I was supposed to take 6) and the all day tournament today (again I was scheduled to take 6) but thankfully a friend helped me get rides for the boys and they are spending each night at a different friend's house. I didn't want to have them go to their dad's because he wouldn't have allowed them to do their sports and this is the big hoorah at the end of the season and I called the person who drove and they actually won a game today (1st of the season) so it was all worth it. Of course I did take a laptop with me (thinking I might be urgent care a while) but not one with my scrapping software so no scrapping for me (not that I feel like it anyway). So send me healing prayers and hope I get out of here quickly and that my charity care will be extended to cover it (it was due to end Thursday)...always something isn't it?

I'm going to sleep soon because I suspect it will be a noisy night again here on the floor and I'm a light sleeper.

Debi, I just posted to you on Pokey Peas! I'm so sorry you are sick and in the hospital. Wish I could come help you. Follow the instructions of your medical people and get well soon. I hate to think of you being so miserable. Hugs, hugs, and lots of prayers being said for you.

This has been such a crazy week around here. Between driving my blind friend to dr. appts. and doing the driving while DH's eye heals, I feel like I have lived in the car and in medical offices. I hope next week is not quite so crazy. Theresa, I understand what you have been through the past few weeks caring for friends and family. It seems like I haven't had even a minute to sit down at the computer.

I have caught up with the chat, but am still working on catching up on praise. Hope I can finish in the next couple of days. It's fun to see Chatty Scrappers actually scrapping!

I'll post a couple of pages when I get a moment to scan them.

Sending hugs and prayers to all of you and your families! I'll catch you the first of the week.

The surprise was quite the success. Kate had no idea. Wish you could have seen her this morning when she got to the restaurant and saw us all there. Then when she found out Jeremy had lied to her yesterday about working, etc. It was priceless. They got a boat load of stuff at the shower and everyone had fun. We're back at the hotel, Randy's been snoring for an hour already and I'm hoping he gets the load snores out of his system before I go to bed. I uploaded the photos from the party but I can't post most of them to the regular FB because "there are perverts out there that use kids' photos you know!" that is just so stupid. I'm sure that perverts aren't going to pick up Kate's shower photos that happen to have Riley (her niece) in them. I'll scrap them though. They loved the scrapbook even unfinished. I'm going to scan it and upload it before I give it back to them at the next shower.

Debi, my goodness girl! Pneumonia and the flu--aren't you an over achiever! I sure hope the meds work quickly and you can get out of there soon. Glad you had a friend to take the boys in.

Tina, if the stretching doesn't work, you call that doctor.

Nylene, take care of yourself too.

Saw on FB that Diana took the kids to Disney for the weekend.

Not sure where everyone else is.

Going to bed. Hope I can get some sleep.

feeling quite a bit better and now that it is after midnight I'm wide awake of course. oh well at least it's quiet except for the guy snoring across the hall-glad I'm not sharing his room-LoL. hoping to go home tomorrow but it's nice to be cared for and be able to sleep. I suspect being at home won't be as comfortable.

THERESA glad the shower was a success and NYLENE I can imagine how exhausting it has been to drive everyone to their appointments--the senior equivalent of being a soccer mom-LOL

take care

Good Morning Peas!

Theresa - It sounds like the shower was a huge success! I'm so glad that it went well and that they loved the album.

Debi - Sending prayers your way, I hope that you are feeling better soon and are able to go home. I am a light sleeper too, so I know that trying to sleep in the hospital is so hard, makes being there even worse.

I actually got a couple of pages done yesterday, I'm going to try to scan them later today.

I'm hoping to get another page or two done some time today. I also have football to watch this afternoon...got to check in on my players for fantasy football. I'm undefeated in one league and am winning that one, in my other league I'm doing the opposite and am in 8th place out of 10. It's fun though, I enjoy it. I set up both leagues and they have a bunch of people from work on them, plus my hubby.

Have a nice day ladies! I'm off to check out the gallery to find some inspiration to get scrapping.

morning girls -

Debi - sending you some hugs and prayers, girl. Hope you're on the mend.

Tina - I finally got Alegiant yesterday but have only read a couple of chapters...sigh...but I'll get to it soon, LOL. I actually like these
more than Hunger Games. A friend at work is not happy how this one ends though...I think she maybe spoiled it for me though.

Theresa - I'm glad Katie had a great shower and loved the book. A lot of people have a fear about FB, etc. You can create a private showing
where it's just your family and us to see. Maybe Katie won't mind that as much.

anyway, I'm off to work a nine hour shift at J's today...we've got to try to get that place organized.

Have a super day, girls.

woke up grumpy this morning but trying not to take it out on the staff. I've had a regular parade of people in here since 6--never a dull moment. Had another xray and the fluid is increasing so they want to aspirate the lung in a couple hours(oh joy!) and keep me one more day...eeks...this is getting difficult, not that I mind the stellar care and relaxation options in the hospital (even if they are too noisy at night for me to sleep much--I catch up during the day). I would like to go home though.

Keep me in your healing prayers.

Debi

Hi Ladies, we took the kids to Halloween Horror Nights and some of us scary cats went to the Magic Kingdom to the Mickeys not so scary halloween. I loved it, I loved that the lines were only 5 to 10 minutes long, so worth it.

Home with allergies, put up a few halloween decorations and taking my niece to Barns and noble to buy a book.

Debbie, I sure hope you feel better soon, keeping you in my prayers.

Theresa, sure wish we could see some pictures, but the one you posted of the dolls was really nice. What a great gift that was also. Glad everything went well with Randy, and praying for all to get better with Aunt Joyce. You are always on the go.

Nylene, I hate to drive around the city, so I can feel your pain. Hope you find a little time for yourself.

Tina, you should really get yourself to the doctor, but I'm praying that the yoga would do the trick.

Toni, you are always so busy, hope everyone in your home get well soon.

well have to go, hope everyone is having a great Sunday.

Debi- gosh I'm so sorry you have been so sick and in the hospital.
I hope your treatment goes well and that you are on the road to recovery soon.

Makes my little cough seem trivial.

We are gearing up for Halloween without 3 yr old grandson. He decided he wanted to be a farmer first ( easy right?) then changed his mind to be a construction worker. We got him a tool belt , construction helmet and a great vest.
We will go over to their house to pass out candy / small toys while they take the little guy out around their neighborhood.
He doesn't really know what candy is so it will just be the cuteness factor.!

Enjoy

Lindy, isn't it fun to have grandchildren! So much more fun than motherhood!!! (and I loved motherhood but this is just tons better). Hope your cough gets better.

Debi, I'm sorry about your pneumonia getting worse. I hope they get you drained and on the mend soon. I'm sure your boys are really missing you. You are still in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Tina, I hope the yoga is really helping. If it doesn't, you really need to see your doc again before it gets worse. No more kick boxing, young lady!!

Toni, I'm sorry you have so many sickies in your home. I hope they are each on the way to well. You and family are always in my prayers.
Every time I walk into J's here, I wish you worked at ours. The scrapbook section seems to be shrinking. I'm wondering if Hobby Lobby has taken its toll on their business.

Theresa, I am so glad the shower went well and that Kate was pleased with all your hard work on the album. I can't wait til you get to be a grandma. It's the best. How's Randy doing since his procedure? Will he have to have this done multiple times? How's Aunt Joyce? What would she do without you to care for her?

Diana, your trip sounds like so much fun. I can't wait to see scrapbook pages about it. I'm one who would prefer the Not So Scary Halloween to the scary stuff. Is Daniel still doing well? Tell your girls hello from us. Emily's baby just turned one and the girls turn 10 and 12 next month! Seems impossible.

I'm hoping for a less crazy week this week. Maybe I'll have time to scan my layouts and post them. I'm anxious to play with all the Echo Park stuff I bought, but so far it's still sitting next to my chair in a box. I did take out some fancy brads and use them on my pages.

Have a great week, everyone. And Debi, you get well!

Home sweet home, although putting it back together after dragging out scrap stuff, baby stuff and then bringing back home laundry it doesn't look so good, it sure feels good.

Discovered a "for sale" sign in my neighbors yard, not happy about that. This is the neighbor with the little kids. Totally understand though. This house wasn't big enough for one kid and they have three. Still wish she'd warned me before I saw it.

Debi, hope you're feeling better and that they didn't have to tap your lung. That hurts!

Lindy a construction worker sounds like a great costume. I'm sure I don't have to remind you to take photos.

I got pumpkin carving photos today so hurray I'll get to scrap!!!! Me, Jeremy and Krystal (Kate's soon to be SIL) carved and Riley painted. I asked Randy to come out and take photos but he didn't of course so I'm not in any of them but that's okay. I'll at least get to scrap them.

Off to watch The Good Wife.

October has flown by. I'm beginning to think October isn't my best month...thinking back I've been in the hospital 3x during this week of October...hmmm, wonder what is up with that.

Took a brief nose dive in how I felt this afternoon. Think I tried to do too much, stayed upright too long after my procedure. They took a good liter of fluid off my right lung, so that lung is feeling better. But now that the lungs aren't vying for the top role of pain inducers, I'm noticing other pains (arthritis and was nauseous for the first time this afternoon). Finally managed to down some applesauce but there was no way I was going to be able to eat the lovely stir-fry and keep it down this afternoon. Even the smell of food made me queasy. Still does a bit but I'm going to try to eat something...even if it is just mashed potatoes.

Got to take a hot shower this afternoon, and wow, hot water sure can make you feel human again.

As for the boys, they had a good weekend and opted to stay the night at home alone. I think in many ways, Noah likes the independence. My friend made sure they had dinner first so they can just snack if they get hungry. The house was quite a mess when I left, so I suspect it will be worse when I get home. At least the laundry was caught up on.

Saw a beautiful sunset over the city skyscrapers tonight. I'm pretending I'm on vacation in the city and have a room up on the 16th floor. Might as well...I have room service, decent food delivered on command, hot showers, people waiting on me hand and foot (now if I can just ignore the medical procedures, the medicines and being woke up every hour), it's not that much different than a brief vacation. And it's just as noisy as a busy hotel. I even have tv and with my laptop movies via Netflix. SO what am I complaining about?

Catch you all later
Debi

Debi, I'd say the change in the season certainly is the cause for your repeated hospitalizations during the same week of a month. Next year, start taking lots of Vitamin C and allergy medication! Hope you feel better today. Again, it's a shame you live so far away from any of us, we'd all come help with the boys.

I'm beat this morning. Started the laundry and about to go get a shower before going to Joyce's. She isn't feeling well so I'm going to fix her lunch and take the photos I've taken all weekend, that'll cheer her up.

Hello Ladies!!

Debi, keeping you in my prayers and hoping you get to go home soon.

Theresa, glad the shower was a big hit! Hope Aunt Joyce starts to feel better.

Diana, sounds like a fun trip. I want to take the kids to Disneyland next year during Halloween.

It's been a crazy two weeks. Lanie is done with soccer and softball! Her softball team took 2nd place in the Halloween Bash on Saturday. Those girls played 4 games that day! Noah has his last basketball tournament on Saturday, but will still be playing baseball and flag football. Devon has got it good right now, just his strength & conditioning class. Basketball will start for high school in a few weeks. Going to try and make the mini halloween album that I saw posted that uses only one sheet of double sided cardstock for Noah's class party on Thursday.

Hope everyday enjoys the rest of the day and stays healthy!

Hi, Sherri, so nice to see your smiling face. I love that Halloween album that Theresa posted. I have made on and will teach my Card Club members how to do one next month. Sounds like things are just go, go, go at your home! Be careful and take time to breathe!

Debi, I'm hoping you are doing better today and maybe will get a release date soon. Hugs to you.

I finally completed these pages. I hate it when they sit half finished and nothing seems right. I turned them into a "then and now" layout when I took a current photo of Alyssa and Squishy. Then things kind of came together.

Squishy'>Squishy

I'm off to shop for things needed to work on our marionettes in Cubs tomorrow. They will be ready to string tomorrow and then add head and tail feathers and learn how to operate them the next week. We need to write some kind of little skit with them to present at Pack Meeting.

Take care, everyone. I'll be back! I can't believe the end of the week is NOVEMBER!

ROFL Nylene, I thought, what, it's not my birthday! I think you did that last year too. That's quite alright, a happy greeting without aging.

Sherri, good to see you. I'm making the one piece mini album in my monthly crop class this week. Super easy and very cute.

Went to Joyce's this morning and she, of course, wouldn't let me cook when I got there. She already had burgers and fries started and I got there 40 minutes earlier than she told me to come! She's weak as a kitten, blood pressure 84/40 when she finally got the machine to register. Stayed a while and then left so she would lay down. As I was headed home I got a call from my friend Paula. She had been at the barn where she keeps her horses in a neighboring county and decided to come visit so she spent the afternoon here. It was nice and caused me to just sit and get some rest myself so that was nice too. Have the laundry done although not put away, potato soup made for dinner and another coat of paint on some baskets so can't say I've rested since she left though but stuff's gotta get done.

Talked to my neighbor that put her house up for sale while we were in Lexington. My other neighbor's adult son may be interested in buying it. That would let him live next door to his Mom with his Grandmom living two doors down. Hate to see Danielle and Danny leave but Barry buying it would be a good thing for them and him. The kids in that family are at his Mom's all the time anyway and I wouldn't have to worry about who might move in. Danielle said they've found a house they like already and although it's on a really busy road, it's twice as big as the one they are in now and it's still here in Greenville.

Might play golf with Randy and his Dad in the morning, supposed to be 67 degrees, may just sleep in, who knows.

LOL NYLENE at your Belated Too Early Birthday wish for THERESA--nice that you have us all in your thoughts!

THERESA I can emphasize with your and Aunt Joyce's issues with low blood pressure. We might have to make our own club.

My health update:

Got released from Hospital yesterday afternoon...haven't been able to do much since. Having to wear a mask until I finish the Tamiflu to make sure I don't inflect anyone else (including my kids), on a 3rd antibiotic, a new pain pill (oxycodone)and temporary (crossing my fingers on this one) halt of my RA med. This scares me the most as I know what happens if I'm off it too long. Had to go in for a follow up with my rheumatologist today-but turns out he's out all week so they scheduled me with a new RA there. Other than giving me only 15 minutes to dress and head down there (which the rush, and without breakfast, made me breath too hard too fast) ended up missing the timeframe due to the lab taking too long so had to wait out another hour to get squeezed in, I like the RA. He's much more talkative and hands on than my current one so I asked if I could be transferred to his service--never hurts to get another opinion, right? Hope that is ok but I've been frustrated with my RA as he's totally non-hands on (never has touched or examined me in 5 years+) and very passive and conservative. Doesn't ask questions so unless you go in prepared with questions and a summary of issues, nothing happens. I prefer a chattier doctor.

I'm breathing better, less pain, but still short of breath with exertion (that can be as simple as racing across the room for the phone or going up the stairs). I have to get over the pneumonia before I can deal with the RA--not exactly a great option but the only one I have. I tire very easily and get a little light headed when standing. When I walk it feels like I'm not walking on totally solid ground but that the ground gives like walking on a couch cushion so being careful. I'd like to be outside where the sun is shining but it is pretty cool. Need to mix being up with resting times. One day at a time.

Send fast healing vibes my way...ok?
Debi

Debi, glad you got to come home. Hope you can change doctors too!

We played golf this morning and I didn't play too bad. Actually got a lower score than I think I've ever got. Would have been better had the greens keepers stayed out of my way on two holes. They frustrated me and I chopped at the ball. I told the owner when we got back, they do it often and it's really annoying. This is the first time I've complained but not the first time they've done it. He said he'd talk to them. I told him they are taking their lives in their hands when they drive their mower or carts in front of me when I'm hitting the ball.

It was really foggy first thing so we didn't go play til 10:30. Thought it would get warmer and it did go to 59 for about 30 minutes before dropping back to 54. The air was damp and I haven't gotten warm yet. Well we did go to the store this afternoon and come out in the light rain so that didn't help.

Have an interview for a job set up for next week. It's for a state nursing inspector. Also heard that they are going to hire a nurse at the local hospital for the outpatient surgery side. Either one would be good. Tomorrow morning I'm going to do a mock nurse aide test for a friend that teaches nurse aide classes so I'm not being totally non nursing, LOL.

Just dawned on me I need to renew my license so better get off here and do that.

Praised to here!

They're postponing Halloween here until Friday because they are expecting severe storms and possible tornadoes tomorrow. Screwing up my monthly crop. We can't crop Friday night now, not only will we want to be with the kids scrapping (or passing out candy) but the church does a treats N more event and it wouldn't do for church members to be sitting on their butts scrapping instead of helping with that. SO have to postpone til next Friday. J and Kate are coming in next weekend. Not a good thing but nothing I can do about it.

Start preparing your November challenges and send them to Tina by tomorrow night.

Good Evening Ladies!

Life here is going well. I'm cruising through my week, we are doing all of our budgets this week for the coming year and so far...it's all coming together well, which is really nice. Life here is cruising along. It's the show choir practice season so Mallory has lots of practices right now. We've been laughing at her, she walks around here all stiff and creaky when they dance for three or four hours a day...she acts like an old lady.

Debi - so glad that you are home from the hospital. I hope that the new doc has some better ideas for you and is more your speed.

Nylene - LOL on Theresa's birthday...it was a sweet thought anyway.

Sherri - Hi! So good to see you. I can so relate to the running around with the kids, I hope that you get a break since some of the seasons are ended.

Theresa - We are supposed to have big storms tomorrow night too. I haven't sen the local news yet to know if they've moved trick or treating yet, but I would guess that it will happen. I hope that you end up getting the neighbor that you want when that house sells. It sounds like the family that are interested in it would be good since you already know him and his family is there.

Toni - I haven't finished the last book yet, but someone spoiled it a bit for me too...boo! I like surprises. I'll get it finished this weekend though, so we will have to compare notes.

EVERYONE, SEND ME YOUR CHALLENGES!!! I'M POSTING THE THREAD THIS MONTH.

Have a nice evening ladies!

Tina

Debi, glad you are doing better. You've had a rough summer and fall.

Tina, the weird thing about missing/advancing Theresa's b-day is that I'll probably forget in November. Just my luck!

Theresa, the first thing DH's workers learn is that you stay far away from the golfers and you turn off your machine if they are hitting so you don't distract them. Those guys need a boss like DH!

I'm helping with my DD's 5 children while she's gone for a week starting the 1st. I will be back and forth between our homes and will be scarce around here for a while. I'll check in when I can. I need to stay with the little ones if the older ones both have to work in the evenings. I'm looking forward to doing some playing with them....of course, after they have finished their homework!

I will make sure to post the checkbox. Thanks Tina and Debi for your work each month.

Nylene, I actually told Randy that if Steve (had to explain who he was) was the manager it wouldn't happen. After I complained and the manager (who is a friend of Randy's Dad) told me he'd talk to them I went to the bathroom. He told Randy that the problem with the guys is that none of them play golf and they don't understand why it's a problem. I sure wish he'd told me that lame excuse because I'd have laid the blame at his feet for not providing the correct work rules to begin with. I'm not a good golfer by any means so it's not like I have to have total silence to hit the ball but they started a chain saw right as I was hitting one ball. Liked to scared me to death!

HAVE to clean this house up today, it's a disaster. I pulled costumes out of the closet in the guest room for the boy across the street and left it all out to go to church. It's still out. Looks like something exploded in there, LOL. The rest of the house doesn't look better. I started covering water bottles for the shower in the living room and have Cricut out cutting out Onsies for decorations. Oh my what a mess!

although I can breath deeper, I awoke mid-night with pain in my back right ribs (same place the pain was before they drained my lung). It is still there. I so hope it is not refilling with fluid. Crossing my fingers it will dissipate with being upright and moving around.

I did something awful this morning. My son, Owen stayed up late last night (til after 11) to finish a project for LA. He was having computer problems but didn't tell me what and I assumed he had resolved them. So when his brother got up this morning and tried printing a paper and it wouldn't print, I cleared the printer queue and restarted the computer so he could print it. That worked fine, but what I didn't realize was Owen had left his paper open but not saved and since he couldn't get the printer to work last night had planned on printing this morning. My restarting the computer lost his paper--no backup. He was devastated and I felt like a cad. I did email the teacher with the explanation and he can redo it and turn it in tomorrow but I hate that I caused this. I hope he won't forget to save in the future and I hope I remember to verify with both boys before restarting the computer we all share but with different desktops so I didn't know he had something open. Lesson learned, I hope.

Now to see if I can figure out how to renew the boys' health insurance now that it is under the affordable healthcare program and not through DSHS. Wish me luck.

The wind is already up here and our power has been coming and going all day (I've lost count on how many times it's went out). Have been busy though. Found an empty extra large rubbermaid box in the building when I went to take the patio umbrella out there and I've transferred all my costumes into it. While I was in the guestroom closet digging for costumes I found several totes full of beanie babies and buddies. Ridiculous. Closet space is so needed and I've got boxes and boxes of stuffed animals. Also found a rubbermaid box of Randy's skinny pants. He's not going to get down that low again and if he does I'll buy him new ones. Whole box going to goodwill. Going to go through the Beanies when Randy comes home (they were his mostly) and figure out which ones to keep, rest are going to Toys For Tots or something similar. Of course if these winds get any stronger, my house may blow away so that would solve a lot of problems and create a lot more.

Debi, wow, bummer about the paper but in fairness if the computer was locked up, the paper probably was gone anyway. I wouldn't take the blame for it. Might teach him to not wait to the last minute again. Gosh I'm a mean mom.

Toni, my friend Polly went to J's yesterday in Evansville, IN and she got Halloween slabs for 75% off. She wasn't sure they were supposed to be but that's what they rang up. She's going back tomorrow to see if they have anymore because she said if she'd known they were that cheap she'd have bought some for us too. She is going to Evansville for another reason, not just the sale. Wouldn't save any money as high as gas is to drive over an hour for it.

Tina, I sent the bookmark challenge via peamail.

Better get this posted before the power goes out again.

Have a great Halloween night all.

All of you in the path of the storm, I hope you are snuggled in safely and that your homes survive. You are all in my prayers. I hate wind more than anything. Be safe!

Debi, I'm sorry about the paper. I had the same thing happen and I'm an adult. My printer wouldn't print my journaling, so I rebooted it and in the process had forgotten to save. I'm glad the teacher was understanding. Take care of yourself. You are beginning to worry me. It's time for you to get well!

Toni, I'm sorry you are so busy! I hope you are getting a little "me" time. Is everyone well at your house now? Thinking of you often.

Tina, thanks for all the work you have to do to get the new thread up. I'm hoping to do more challenges in November. Not sure when, since we are having Thanksgiving at my house, and DD and family are coming from CA.

Theresa, Steve makes his guys learn to golf at least a little on Monday afternoons when the course is closed. They really need to know something about the sport in order to do their jobs well. I've been cleaning thru closets today too. I have so much stuff that needs to be donated. I have more Cub stuff than one room can hold!! And then there's the scrap stuff, and my "now too big for me clothes", but I'm afraid to get rid of them.

Gotta run. I'll be back later.
