I read about using a rolling pin...
I just don't want to buy an embossing machine...
Suggestions?

Couldn't you just use a stylus?
I've done that with due cut shapes or other things around my house.
Works like a charm.
You can also use an empty ball point pen.
To get it to slide easily on the paper rub the paper down with wax paper first

I have used an embossing folder (my one embossing folder) and a rubber mallet. I got this idea from a friend...and it works.

Ladies,

You have good ideas...
I don't have a stylus, but that could be easy to get.
I did buy some little set of three embossing folders because I had read about the rolling pin.
Ballpoint pin, and popsicle sticks...sound easy...and I do have wax paper.
I will report back.

Lightly mist the paper first. It softens the fibers and helpsget a good impression.

Rolling pin can work...but pasta or clay machine works even better.

and, if you are freehand embossing and/or need a soft backing for greater detail, use a mouse pad or silicone mat.

HTH

BTW, you can also make your own embossing folders.
