Omg it was such a great movie, had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! I thought the acting was so great too. For those that saw it were you a bit disappointed in the ending?? It also seemed like there was an underlying story with Jake's character wish they would have explored that more.

I live for the applause applause applause...

I haven't seen it, but I love Hugh Jackman, so it's on my "to watch" list. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I saw this movie last weekend. It was, indeed, a thriller that kept me 'almost' wanting to cover my eyes through much of it, starting with the opening scene. Very good movie. I, too, was a bit disappointed with the ending, but I guess we all know what happened next.

Who is in it?? Never heard of it! I'm intrigued!

Here is the 'Synopsis' of the movie listed on the theatre website . . .

How far would you go to protect your child? Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) is facing every parent's worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) arrests its driver, Alex Jones (Paul Dano), but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect's release. Knowing his child's life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, he may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?

Glad you enjoyed it!

DH and I thought it was terrible. (Does Jake Gyllenhall have an eye tick, or was that part of his character?)

LOL at covering your eyes I was doing that the whole movie! When they showed the picture of the dead dude with the maze necklace I was like omg omg I know who he is. It is definitely a movie to see in the theater with other people. I noticed I wasn't the only person jumping and covering their eyes lol. I thought Melissa Leo who played the Aunt was fantastic in it too!

I wondered if at the end of the movie it would be like the movie The Grey where they roll thru the entire credits and then they show what happened to Liam Neeson but I don't think Prisoners does that.

Hmm on the eye tick I am thinking it was part of his character he seemed like a guy with a lot of demons to me.

OK, canadianscrappergirl - you have my curiosity up now. I watched The Grey and shut it off when the credits started. What did I miss? I just assumed I knew what happened to him.

If you roll thru the credits it shows the wolf lying down with Liam's head laying on his stomach face up and the wolf is breathing. It doesn't show any other wolves around or any wolves howling just the top of Liams head face up on the wolf's stomach as he lays there. Makes me think that Liam isn't dead.
