I've been really into buying all of the fun different ephemera, and die cut packs lately. I love how many pieces you get for your money, and I love using the little bits, and pieces on my layouts (especially in embellishment clusters.) My problem I'm having is I'm not sure how to store them to make them the easiest to use. Right now I have most of them still in their original packaging, but some of the packages don't close back up very well once they've been opened. How do you store yours? Do you keep them in their original packages? Do you mix them all together? If you take them out of their packages, what do you use to store them in? I would love to find a better system for storing mine, and would appreciate any input from others.

I keep mine in a small ziploc bag until I'm done with the collection and then I sort it by color in these plastic photo storage bins: Iris Photo Storage

I have small bowls and such that stack in each other. (like from the Dollar Tree). I empty the pack into the bowl, then cut a small part of the package off (The name of the collection) and tape it on the side of the bowl. They stay stacked up and I just go through them as I need them.

It's not very fancy but a zip lock bag in an iris box.

I take mine out of the packs and store them by color in some small plastic drawer sets from Target. Sometimes if it's a new collection and I've bought several pieces I'll keep the pack together until I've made a layout or two with everything together, but eventually they all get split up.

Zip lock bags. Not the most nicest way to store them, but it works for me.

I mostly buy with the intent to use on PL. So for the mean time they are kept in a plastic show box container w all my other PL tidbits. otherwise, if I bought w a collection I keep them packaged up to use with that once I'm down to bits and pieces I add to my PL collection!

I host a similar set-up to Melissa in that I use small plastic drawer organizers to sort die-cuts, journaling cards/accent cards, and other small bits by color. Though, recently, I started another series of bins to hold random themed bits such as butterflies, florals, arrows, page tabs, banners and more. I also separate all flower die-cuts by color and store them in drawers. I find this particular type of organizational set-up to be a motivational force in my scrapbook process. I'm someone who doesn't particularly enjoy unseating myself when working on a project. I keep the bins and drawers on my desk, within hands reach. It encourages me to use what I buy as well

And by the way, I love The Container Store! They are my go-to shop for bins in all sizes. The dollar store comes in handy as well. Don't be afraid to separate out the small stuff!

I keep mine in the package for a month or so, in my "new" pile - and then I break them open and sort each and every bit into a color bin. I have two bins for each color. One is for larger tags and things that can stand up and the other is for little bits.....

I use the small Iris photo cases but I have to admit, mine are a jumbled mess just thrown in a couple of cases, lol! I need to sort them by color or something like Kathleen! I do like that these cases fit perfectly in my CTMH organizer box (medium, I think?) with all my PL stuff.

I just bought 2 of the Iris photo cases. It helped my over stuffed Ikea cart.
