Today begins Ellen Hutson's tags 12 days of Christmas tags with a feminine touch. She began this annual tradition of inviting other stampers to showcase a tag using inspiration from Tim Holtz when he created tags the first days of December. This was designed to provide inspiration to use similar products without the heavy distress look.

I post the above link because these tags hold tons of little inspiration sparks that you might enjoy. The link will connect you to today's tag as well as ones from 2012.

Thanks Jan! I remember seeing a bit of that challenge last year.

How is everyone doing on this? The send date for the tags is tomorrow! I will have to double check the thread to see if anyone hasn't checked in in a while. If you haven't, please leave a note here or at least with your swapmate, especially if you think you may need an extra day or two.

We have three tags on the blog and I know I have sent mine so it is in transit for a week now. I think I saw notes for a few more that are in transit.

Mine was mailed to LeighAnn last weekend. I'm hoping it has arrived by now since it didn't have far to travel. I always worry with the crazy mail service.

Thanks April! I know mine is going to Alaska so it may take a while, especially since those of us in the US had a postal holiday on Thanksgiving. I see that Marshia's tag was uploaded, but the photo was just a tiny box on the blog, so I missed it, so that is 4 uploaded! I think that re-reading the thread I see most have sent the tag. I don't see anything recent from Sarah (CraftNerd) or Kathy (SWLady). Probably due to the holidays, but I hope to hear that they are well and safe soon.

Hi all,

I've been MIA due to my work at home job, but my tag is finished! Actually it's tag number 2. Number 1 didn't come out well so I started over.

It will go in the mail to pimelin tomorrow! I just realized it is going to Canada so I wish I had finished it sooner!

Jan, I'm glad you got the tag! I will be posting it later today.

Kathy! I'm glad you checked in and I hope your tag has a speedy delivery to Canada. I will extend the blog date if the tags aren't getting there in a timely manner. I think I gave the blog a couple weeks extra.

I'm so sorry, I've been MIA too. Long story short, our modem for the Internet has been out of sync for a while. We've had techs come "fix" it off and on. It finally went completely out over the weekend. So we got it replaced today. All my data was used up on my phone so I couldn't get on thru the app either. I've missed my Internet!

April, I mailed my tag out to you last week so I hope you have it or get it soon! I haven't got yours yet, I will let you know as soon as it arrives. It's odd I don't have it yet since we live fairly close

Pearl, glad to see you and also that your DH is doing ok after surgery!

Pug, I hope your tag arrives safely at April's, it's always worrisome when something doesn't arrive in a timely matter.

Hmmm. The 'Case of the Missing Tags'. Sounds like a job for Nancy Drew &/or the Hardy Boys.

Suggestion April & LeighAnn? Although they have not (yet) arrived, you both might want to upload yours to your gallery. While it lessens the 'surprise' aspect, most of work looks a bit different when we actually get to hold it in our hands. Your 'call', of course.

Here is my tag that I sent to Jan. I did actually think of Jan when I was making this, as she had taught us about brayering with glitter glue during SOF.

It is a simple tag, but I liked the overall look.

I hope the remaining tags make it in the mail!!

Has anyone heard from Craftnerd? I haven't heard from her for quite awhile. I was wondering if she received the tag I sent her. I know she said she was busy with work and the upcoming holidays. Hope everything is okay with her.

I will give my tag a few more days! Hopefully it makes it soon April and I are both under ice warnings. For you northerners, the south shuts down when we get some winter weather .

Heidi, I love your tag! The glitter looks like snow falling on the trees.

JoeScrapper, I hope you hear from Sarah soon! I haven't seen her post in a while so maybe she's just very busy.

Sorry for being MIA. November got away from me. Between cleaning for Thanksgiving, illness, doctor's appointment, craziness at work and trying to finish Christmas presents, I haven't been on-line at all.

But I did get JoeScrapper/ Joan-Anne's tag and it is gorgeous. I also did send out my tag to her. It went postal on Monday. So hopefully she should get it soon.

Sarah, thanks so much for checking in. I'm sorry November was a trial for you. Hopefully December will be much better!

We are doing really good with tags now! 6 have been uploaded to the blog and there are still 6 more. However, I think there are three still working through the postal system (pearl, kathy and CG)? Can't wait to see them all uploaded on the gallery and blog in their glitter shining glory. I have the blog open for submissions through the 15th.

Now that we've done the whole glitter thing, what's the best way to apply your glitter without wrinkling the paper?

I ended up doing two tags, because the first one I tried to use glitter for snow and it wrinkled the tag horribly. I even tried very thin layers of glue and only doing a small area at a time. I trashed that one, hehehe.

How do you all apply your glitter without wrinkling????

SWLady, I think maybe using a braver to put the glitter on might help. I had the same problem, I had tried to glitter my entire image I stamped and it curled up horribly.

If you just want a line of glitter, you can apply double sided tape, like the redline tape, and the glitter will stick to that. You can press it in for full coverage with your bone folder or something like that.

It is really hard to get more ideas without seeing your tag.

The brayering of glitter glue is really nice. After it dries completely, if it curls, you can just put it under a book.

Kathy (SWL). Good question. I've found that moisture content of the glue & how absorbant the paper is have impact on curling. That said, however, I have sometimes been able to 'uncurl' a piece by weighting it for a period of time. HTH.
