My fiance and I are getting married on November 9. We still have not decided on the song to we want to walk down the isle to.

We have been together for almost 14 years. We have decided to not use a song from our favorite all time favorite artist. Hers is Todd Rundgren and mine is Barbra Striesand. We have decided though that we want it to be a female artist.

Any peas have any good suggestions?

I wish I could remember the name of the song but way back when I watched Y & R and Cricket and Danny got married, Patty Weaver (played Danny's sister) sang the most beautiful song. All I can remember is, "Starting here, starting now..." If I were to ever marry again, that is what I want sung at my wedding.

I know it's not a female artist but I love the instrumental version of Marry me by train

I was going to come back with something snarky like walking down the isle? maybe something by Jimmy Buffett, but I didn't even need to. The Peas were snarky for me.

And you call yourself a pea?!? Clearly, the answer is " Crazy Bitch".

DH and I are almost 20 years married. Plus, we married in a Catholic church, so our choices were a bit limited.

But I went traditional, (I was the princess for the day after all) with Trumpet Voluntary for ours:

Okay- I'm old! Next year I will have been married 30 years! But the Theme from Ice Castles by Melissa Manchester and Sunrise, Sunset, from Fiddler on the Roof. My MIL said as soon as SS started- she started crying- she was fine until then. I did a search and have discovered that in 2011, the original writer of the lyrics rewrote some of them so they would fit a same sex marriage- but unless you have some one who can sing it for you, I would think, there may not be a recording.

I walked to "At Last" by Etta James. That might work since you two have been together so long

I really liked "At Last" on Bones last week, although after 14 years, some people may find it a little humorous. Sounds like it fits, though.

It's typical, but I'm a die hard fan of Canon in D.

Considering how long you have been together, how about Still the One by Shania Twain? I like the Lee DeWyze version better, but if you want a female vocalist, Shania's is a great one.

I really like Shaia's You're Still The One.......but it says "they said we'd never make it". I don't like that bit because no one has ever said that.

I like Gabriel's Obo, but she doesn't .

At Last would be good.....but our friends just used that 2 months ago.

There are a couple I have not shared with her yet:

I Do by Westlife

I Knew I Loved You Before I Met You by Savage Garden

They are both on youtube

Any thoughts?

I can't even remember what I walked down the aisle to (pretty sure it's written down in my wedding book, though ... I hope) but I remember we had Sunrise, Sunset when the ceremony was complete. So pretty. But not a female artist.

I really just wanted to say CONGRATS!! 14 years is a long time to wait. Best wishes to you both.

My fiance and i are getting married on November the 9th also. On the beach (Meant to be storming) need to find an alternative. LOL

Were getting married to Chester See, God damn you're beautiful

On the days I can't see your eyes
I don't even want to, open mine
On the days I can't see your smile
Well I'd rather sit and wait the while
For the days I know you'll be near
'Cause I day without you just isn't fair
See the days I can hear your voice
I'm left without a choice

Plus I get weak in the knees
Fall head over heels baby
And every other cheesy cliche
Yes I'm swept off my feet
Oh my heart skips a beat
But there's really only one thing to say:

God Damn you're beautiful
To me, you're everything,
Yeah that's beautiful, yes to me.

I can't find the words to explain
Just how much you got me going insane
When you speak to me sometimes you'll find
Oh, I stutter my words and say nevermind
'Cause even when you just walk by
Well I look around to seem occupied
'Cause I'm trying so hard to hide
Yeah, all of these feelings inside

'Cause get weak in the knees
Fall head over heels baby
And every other cheesy cliche
Yeah I'm swept off my feet
Oh my heart skips a beat
But there's really only one thing to say:

God Damn you're beautiful
to me, oh you're everything,
Yeah, that's beautiful, yes to me.
Yes to me.

Yeah you're beautiful
Yeah you're beautiful
God Damn you're beautiful
To me.
To me.

Happy now?

"Only You" by Yaz

Looking from a window above
It's like a story of love, can you hear me?
Came back only yesterday
I'm moving farther away, want you near me

All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew, only you

Sometimes when I think of her name
When it's only a game and I need you
Listen to the words that you say
It's getting harder to stay when I see you

All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew, only you

All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew, only you

This is going to take a long time
And I wonder what's mine, can't take no more
Wonder if you'll understand
It's just the touch of your hand behind a closed door

All I needed was the love you gave
All I needed for another day
And all I ever knew, only you

It's sung by a woman (Allison Moyet) and is really beautiful.
