I am really behind on my PL (working in April eek) and I am so tired of the oh snap line. Has anyone switched it up mid year?? I have a ton of supplies but the colors are getting so boring! Should I switch to another simple stories line mid year or just stick with it so my whole album is the same

OMG. I don't know how you do it. I could NEVER stick to just one line. I would die. I would suggest switching. Especially if it will help you get caught up or finish.

Do you do every page a different line? Last year I did a monthly PL. Each page was a different 6x6 pad. I just thought that most people picked a core kit and stuck with it all year.

I am way behind, so my advice may not be much good but I definitely mix it up, page to page, week to week, and even on the same week. I would be too bored working with just one kit.

Switch to whatever makes you happy. Getting bored with a product can suck the joy out of a project and make it feel like a chore instead of a fun way to document your memories. Just my 2 cents.

Most ppl mix the collections because they have collected so many. I mix now, but the first year I did PL, I used one kit because that was all Becky had I say select another kit to use for the next 4 months and then pick another to finish the year.

I've been using Amy Tan's Sketchbook all year. No problems here.

If you're bored, switch! This is supposed to be fun, remember?

I don't stick to the same line at all. Sometimes I use a few different core kits plus homemade cards plus SC PL kit cards on the same layout. To each their own!

I have 3 core kits, 2 mini kits and several themed packs of PL cards. I use all of them in my album. The only thing I won't mix on one page is the background colour of the cards, ie I don't use white background cards on the same week as cards with cream backgrounds.

I would definitely get bored using one kit all year.

I just did this yesterday! I've been using the remnants of my SC kits (I canceled this summer) as well as the Sn@p line. I was in the-store-which-Must-not-be-named and picked up my first PL core kit - Honey. It was a toss up between this one and the Kraft edition. I also got the holiday mini kit and some grid cards. I came home and worked on PL for the first time in months!

I've never worried about being all matchy on my PL spreads, so I'll continue to incorporate my other supplies, but I'm really happy I sprung for the core kit. And I'll continue using it into next year.

I promised myself that I would only use Seafoam (a friend and I split one kit) to make my album simple and cohesive...and that lasted until May.

I had to branch out-- so I bought Midnight, then Blush. In June I bought Honey and I just bought Sunshine yesterday. In the meantime I have bought 2 childhood editions and 2 theme packs.

Yes, I have more decisions to make now...but I also enjoy the time I spend on it and the pages I have created. Only one kit was too restrictive for me. Do I have too much?? Maybe, but I am using and loving it and that's what matters.

My advice- switch it up!!! If you were working on early December pages, I would probably say tough it out...but it's still early and you want to enjoy it!!!

I could never do a whole PL album with just one collection. I have several core kits, I get snap stuff, I get the SC kits.. Every pocket it like a new layout for me. And somehow in the total randomness, it all works so well together. If you are bored, you aren't going to enjoy doing it... I say branch out and get some new goodies.

I would definitely switch it up! I like using my normal stash of papers and cutting them to size or any 6x6 pad and ambellishment I like.

Forgive me if someone else already suggested this... If you're sick of the same line but worried about cohesiveness then perhaps finish up April & start May with a different line. You could do 4 more months with a new pack, then mix it up again.

Jan-April: pack 1
May-Aug: pack 2
Sept-Dec: pack 3

The album would be cohesive in two ways: The packs would be cohesive in 4 consecutive "month sets" & the entire album would be cohesive due to the month separation in 3 sets of 4.

I use a mix of the JAC core kit with different pp lines and embellishments each week.

If your bored, definitely mix it up! I couldn't even get through a month if the same kit, I'm bored of it. I switch it up between BH core kits, snap stuff, monthly kit clubs and my stash. Keeps it fun and interesting enough for me to continue and enjoy it.

Sad to say but I'm sort of burnt out on PL as a whole. I started the year off great and I am fizzling out. I'm totally getting sick of the never ending pockets LOL!

Try to hang in there! I'm trying but make no promises.

I'm way behind too! I think i'm working on week 15 which is somewhere in May. Definitely switch it up!! I have 4 or 5 different collections for this year and i'm already SOOO sick of those and i'm only in April!. I mix and match the collections to what colors i want for a particular weeks spread. I don't ever use just one.

Try using stamped images, a variety of embellies, tags, etc to mix up lines you are bored with I use a lot of Unity Stamp Co. SMAK images to create my own Albums Made Easy inserts too. I also enjoy using my favorite card sketches to alter my 4x6 inserts. Washi tape and glitter tape can add some pizazz too!

No one will ever know you switched kits except you.

Maybe pull out a 6x6 pad and do a weekly spread or two to get your enthusiasm back? Or download some printables to use along with your core kit?

My 2009/2010 PL was almost all one kit but that is because that is all there was back then. Even then I used some of my stash to fill in and fit the theme.

If you are bored switch it up. It is your book and you should enjoy it. I used kits for two years and didn't get bored but if you are I say go for it. I am only doing monthly pages now and am using different paper on each of them - mostly scraps. I am enjoying using the scraps more than the kits

I don't know how you got all the way to April! I would have quit sometime in Feb! I don't think I have done a full PL spread with just one line. I mix everything up on all my pages. Of course my colors match but lines certainly do not! I know some people go with all one line for the entire album but I need variety. Good luck!

I don't stick with just one line, because I would get bored. I tried to do that with Just the Clementine kit and I was bored by the end of January. I now mix up different core kits along with Snap and Elle's Studio. I also use thos 4x6 journal and card pads from Pebbles and some Studio Calico PL kits (which I may be about to cancel). Right now I have 4 mini and 7 core kits. Some weeks I mix all my cards up from the kits and some weeks I stick with just one kit. Depends on my mood

I love to switch it up because it really helps me personalize my project life even more! Switching it up shows how my moods and tastes changed through out the year!
