We already had a Halloween-filled weekend, so it kind of feels like Halloween already happened and we don't actually need Thursday, but hey! A whole week of Halloween is awesome.

Anyway, my girls chose an Alice in Wonderland theme this year. I made Alice's costume for my youngest, but my older two did their costumes (almost) completely on their own. I was especially impressed with my eldest's creativity, and I love her idea of putting the Cheshire Cat's smile on a stick.

We went out and did a photoshoot of their costumes and had an absolute blast acting out some of the story.

Halloween in Wonderland: Alice, the Cheshire Cat, and the Seven of Hearts by lalakme, on Flickr

The rest of the pictures are on my my blog (I'd post them all here, but there are a lot of them): Halloween in Wonderland

I LOVE seeing everyone's Halloween pictures, so if you've already had a bunch of Halloween this year, too, please share!

Really nice costumes Love the fall leaves and photoshoot idea too. My 13 yo DS and 16 yo DD are going as someone from the 60's. DD will be a sock hop girl and DS will just wear jeans/leather jacket/white shirt and slick his hair back.

They won't trick or treat, but will have "Trunk or treat" after band rehearsal on Thursday.

This is not for Halloween (she is going as the 11th doctor) but for the Hooker Day Parade.

Thomas Hooker was the founder of Hartford, CT and was a great lover of costumes and parades. My niece's school band marches in it, so we need to come up with a costume that is easy to wear and easy to march in.

So here is The Sweet Scarecrow (sorry if its big):

Oh, I love the Alice costumes. Your daughters did an amazing job on theirs. They are all so cute.

I cannot see the scarecrow at work, I'll check that out when I get home.

Great costumes!

My middle son is Luigi. He couldn't find his hat, so he's Luigi with 99 lives. He was looking for shoes, and remembered that he had Yoshi slippers, which I thought was pretty cool!

My youngest is a Clone Trooper. The bummer is that it's hard for him to wear his helmet for long

My monster high girls

DD made both of these costumes without a pattern. You can't see Draculara's wings very well in these photos but they are spectacular!

DS is going as a Mad Scientist. He will have his photo taken tomorrow

Those Monster High girls are darling! they did a great job.

I love the other costumes too. It's so cute to see families do themes.

Mine aren't themed this year. DS is going as The Master from Doctor Who (complete with laser screwdriver). DD is going as a pirate girl. Other DS is Ash from Pokemon. and Youngest is a black cat. She has a red bow tie because, as she says "bow ties are cool." I'll have to post my pictures tomorrow. I'm a last minute girl and I just finished up the costumes today.

Perembula, bow ties ARE cool!
At least we think so.
DS collects them and loves to wear them

And thank you and lalakme. I love how their costumes turned out. DD makes them every year.
I don't have a photo to post if Clawd. He is DD's best friend and DGDs god father. He looked great in his Clawd costume with them when they trick or treated at Disneyland

I'll have to post the TOT bags DD made. Every year she makes bags that go with the costumes.

Love the Alice and Wonderland shoot!! Fabulous costumes and pictures!

I only made dd's costume this year. I started asking her a month or so ago what she wanted to be. She is 2.5 years old and every time she answered pink princess. I have no idea where she got the idea - we have one book that talks about princesses and I don't think any of them are pink! But that is what she wanted so that is what she is! I wanted to make one for ds, but I couldn't find a pattern for a dragon for 6-12 months. So instead he is wearing the dragon costume dd wore for her first Halloween.

Loved the pattern for dd's dress. I bought some beautiful silk shuntag to make her holiday dress with a modified version of the pattern. It took me 6-8 hours, but considering it was by far the most complicated thing I have made I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Now tomorrow I need to get the button holes done and then it will finally be finished!

The vending machine is great. I've never been a big fan of Halloween, but with 2 kids, there were years with costumes and I always prefer the homemade ones. Anything that uses a box is right up my alley because I can't sew.

We do themes sometimes. These costumes were from a few years ago. We had a drive-in movie theater theme during Trunk or Treat. I still think these are my favorite costumes that they wore!

I didn't get any pictures of mine today, but I wore it to an event a couple of weekends ago (the shirt says "I like big data and I cannot lie" ):

And Dorothy and her yellow brick road! How did you do that? Love it!
