New Cameo. Did my first cut yesterday and was frustrated to see that it didn't cut all the way on the cs. I used the AC cardstock & the setting is"coverstock". Please help! TIA!

Few things

I usually keep my blade on setting 3 for most of my papers, so make sure your blade is set on the correct setting.

I always have it cut slowest setting possible,

Thickness 31-32

Some people use the cut twice all the time, I don't and I find its ok 95% of the time. I use the double cut when its really fine details or thicker paper.

I have luck with selecting my own settings. I set blade to 4 or 5, speed of 5 and 33. This works for most cardstock for me and I RARELY have to double cut. In fact, next to never.

I will have to bookmark this thread. I've had my cameo for a year and unless I am using cheap cardstock like the Michael's kind the cameo doesn't like it very much. I don't use it much because of that. I am going to try some of these suggested setting and see if they work for me.

I think its so easy to damage your blade, that you need to check its OK before you worry about anything else. Set you blade to "1" and gently pull it accross printer paper and see what happens. It should cut through the top sheet easily.
If the blade is OK it should cut "smooth" cardstock on "3". The quality of the cardsock is important. It should be smooth and not to fiberous.
I love my Cameo but it was a bit twitchy at first!

I use the textured cardstock settting on mine, and blade set to 5. I have cut Recollections cardstock, Colorblok, and several different brands with this setting.

My first mistake on my Cameo was not understanding that the actual blade needed to be adjusted and not just the settings using the software.

If you are doing both then you just need to try different settings until it works for you. Cheap cardstock will cut smoothly on 3 for me with a new blade. Textured or thicker cardstock on 4. You can also do a double cut - just click cut again to make sure it goes through. I know it can be frustrating but keep trying. It's worth it. Another mistake I made was starting out trying to cut things for layouts. I should have played with it first with different kinds of paper to see how it worked to avoid all that frustration.

That is an excellent point! I never thought to explain that when I mentioned my settings. You have to manually change your blade number to the selection you want in the software...so be sure you do that. There is a raised grey round thingy attached to the part where you feed in your paper. It's right next to the left hand magnet on the cover. Twist the blue lever to release the blade, pull it straight up then make sure you insert it into the grey thing that holds it with the red line facing the line on the edge of the grey thing in the front. Then click it right or left to align the number you want with the front. Then you will see the red line will be under the number and that's the number you set in your software. Replace the blade, lock it in place and you are good to go!

Yeah. I'm sure there are a lot of people that don't understand that you have to take the actual blade housing OUT of the machine to adjust the blade depth. NOT just on your computer screen!

Thanks for the tips peas! I will try again today. I had blade the setting at 7 and that's probably why it didn't cut through

7 is pretty deep and more likely to tear intricate designs because the 'back' of the blade is dragging
