I need ideas to tell my family of things to get me for the holidays. They are tired of me giving them the same old list every year so help me make a new and exciting one for them What are your favorite things?

Here are the rules: Nothing over $50 and I would love to get ideas in all price ranges so that the kids can pick stuff out, nothing having to do with makeup (don't wear it often) or nails (can't get them done due to school).

I'll be watching this thread. I mostly just have books & Lush stuff on my wishlist. A couple candles, a couple tops from Maurices, a new pair of headphones, and the Deluxe Les Mis soundtrack. I'm not a makeup person either & also can't wear nail polish due to my job.

On Cyber Monday Vera Bradley will have good deals online. They area already having some deals online. There was just a thread today about it. Last year they offered the Hipster for $30 and the large duffel bag for I think $50. Not all patterns are on sale.

Crystal nail file I LOVE these things! They work so much better than cardboard nail files. They are much more gentle on the nails. I bought my first one at a craft show then later saw what I thought was the same thing in a store but it was much cheaper. The cheaper one was horrible. I then bought from this vendor on Amazon and it was the same quality as the first one I bought. I had great service and bought from the same vendor again.

I love the 31 Gifts organizing utility tote. I just bought my fourth because I love them that much.

I want the advent calendar from starbucks, with its magnet board and 25 tins.

Everyone speaks so highly of fiestaware here, I've been scoping out either a smaller casserole dish (smaller than my 2 quart pyrex dishes) or a couple of individual sized ones.

You can't do your nails, but everyone needs a good hand cream. I like the one from Aveda (travel size is $9) or whatever one used to be Look Ma New Hands from bath and body works. My favorite is the mary kay satin hands cream in peach. Oh, I second the nod to glass/crystal nail files.

It's kinda silly but I like my change counting jar with the digital counter. They're everywhere this time of year for around $10-15.

I am in need of a couple of new flashlights-- I have a good lantern but need an actual flashlight.

I think everyone needs a Mix N Chop or Twist N Chop or whatever it is from pampered chef, for browning ground beef.

A week or two ago there was a thread where this breakfast sandwich maker was discussed. I bought one, and I've got to say my only complaint about it is that it's always dirty because we use it so much.

Something else that's going on my list for Christmas this year is a nice bath robe.

Annabella, I'm sure there are other vendors that sell the quality files but I know for sure that the one I linked sells the good kind. I bought a cheap one in a store and after just a few uses the etching wore off. With the one I linked the etching hasn't worn. I just wash it and keep using it over and over. In the long run it's a cost savings because I don't have to keep buying new files. Well, except that I have one for my manicure kit, one for my bedroom that I use if my toenails need a quick filing and one for my purse.

These are my favorite things:

Microplane(s) - there are several different types
Silpats - varying sizes
Half and Quarter Sheet pans (I love the half sheet from Sams - 2pk for $10.00+/-). Nice and heavy. Then I ordered Nordic quarter sheet pans from Amazon. Love them too. I have silpats for both sizes.
Assorted size cookie scoops.
Also love my avacado slicer/masher from Walmart.
New kitchen towels/hot pads
Offset spatulas in different sizes
Cute apron
SMALL sauce pans.
Fish spatula/turner
Heavy handled wisk
Red cutting board(s) - for meat only
Fuzzy, fuzzy soft pj bottoms
Not sure what area you live in, but BELK has the softest fleece throws and blankets that are on sale most of the time. I bought a Christmas patterned one last year for the bed (Queen $20) and use it year round. Just picked up another one for the spare bedroom last week.
Whirly Pop is on my list this year.

I'm going to start out with Vermont Bag Balm - fantastic for your feet (I haven't been building up callouses like I used to since I started using it every day (and do a quick file), plus I don't have dry heels anymore.)

If you wanted to make up a pedicure basket for someone, you could include the Bag Balm, This callous remover and a foot file or an Emjoi. If you really want to do it up right, include the course pedi rollers for the Emjoi.

I just bought my second thing of Bag Balm (I don't want to run out) at the Costco prescription counter (it's not prescription, but they have it on a shelf there behind the counter) for $5.29

A Kuhn Rikon can opener. I happen to have bought this model but any in that class opens the can on the side. The little video shows you how it works.

When I'm microwaving leftovers, I love this collapsible cover

If you like a fun pair of socks, and you like animals, you can't go wrong with some Laurel Burch socks. There are dogs, cats, giraffes, horses, just a lot of fun stuff. These are my personal favorites - in black. I think they must be popular because they go out of stock frequently.

The Laurel Burch socks I bought off of eBay were not the same quality.

If you like fun socks, but don't want Laurel Burch, then these are fun. A bit pricey, but nice and warm.

If they have an iPad, a mesh stylus is the way to go. For an iPhone, then this smaller stylus fits perfect. It's not the best, but it works. When I had a different case than the one I do now, I bought these to loop the stylus to my case so I didn't take up my headphone port.

WARNING: Some office supply places carry a little iPhone-size stylus with a mesh point. I think they are Sharper Image or something. Don't buy those, the cap comes off (and you lose it) if you look at it crooked. The cap is just not long enough.

I bought these little bowls because they are the perfect size to hold a small amount of nuts for a snack or melt some butter for popcorn.

Tervis has already been mentioned, but if you have a techno geek in your life, I'm sure they would appreciate this one.

This Retro Handset to use with my iPhone, went on my Christmas list tonight! It is $20. I have always hated hanging on to a small cell phone to talk, and my cordless phone at home isn't much better. This is perfect! You can even download a rotary dial phone app from iTunes to complete the experience. I think it would also be great fun for kids who never got to talk on old-fashioned phones.

I get some of the best small gifts and stocking stuffers at Restoration Hardware each year. They have great retro toys and cool modern gadgets! Here is this year's offering:

For some odd reason, I'm really pleased when people get my pets a little treat. Even instead of giving me something.

Emily just LOVES this treat ball. This is the way I deliver her dry food to her, because she's a snarfer otherwise. She has fun and her dinner all at the same time.

Both of them get their canned food inside these Kong Traxx thingies. Unlike the standard Kongs that are limited by how long your dog's snout or tongue is, these round things work great for both. I use a cheap-o frosting bag to fill them with their canned food, freeze them, and then they have a great time eating dinner. Frosting bag isn't absolutely necessary, but it makes it easy to pack it in. At one point during the day, Kayley gets a half-jar (a little jar) of baby food in one and for that I just use a spoon.

A great place to shop for all kinds of dog, cat, and horse things is Omaha Vaccine. Great price on Greenies. They have their printed catalogue online. They have the Look Who's Talking toys for $5.89. The duck is still Emily's favorite. QUAAAAAACK QUAAACK QUACK QUACK. Used to drive me nuts with it when she was younger.
