So why am I involved?

Remember those unfinished pine treasure chests with. The rounded top? He is reworking the top so it will be flat. He will give that to his sister (stained and varnished with a lock if he can find one). Every half hour or so....MOM is this design good?

For dad...MOM where can I get rosewood (or insert new favorite wood of the day). MOM what do you dad would like?

Son... go ask the neighbor he does woodworking...he can help you find parts. He is always happy to help. He knows more that I do.

UPDATE: The crappy treasure chest is now a very cool chest, and sturdy enough for somebody to sit on. He stained a dark walnut and is starting to put top coat on.

When he took the rounded top off, I asked him to make a hanging planter out of it. Two gifts out one, not a bad deal.

He is 21. Old enough to figure it out himself.

For me, He is refinishing a glider rocker that the neighbor threw away ( I picked it up, planning a redoing it myself). It had a broken piece on it that he fixed, and He has done a fantastic sanding it, but now is driving me nuts with...Do you really want it painted or would you like a nice finish on it? Well I really want a bright yellow chair. Really MOM bright yellow, I can do a nice stain.

part of the problem is that the wood shop looks like it is going out of business so they only a few pieces of lumber and none of them are right. The neighbor knows people who have stashes and could help he find what he is looking for.

I love that he's doing this, good on him. He should learn all he can from the woodworking neighbour.

And Megmc - he's a male - they're NEVER old enough to figure things out by themselves. Believe me I know, I have some myself.

I'm pretty sure a sweeping negative statement about women (they're all over-emotional, incompetent, weak) would go over here like a lead zeppelin, smiley or no smiley. But please, feel free to eye roll away

Sorry Ingrid, I HATE when people use the eyeroll so I shouldn't have done it. I do however, think we should be able to make jokes about our loved ones, people do it here every day.

Now back to the OP..... WHERE are the photos?? I would love to see the chest. AND your bright yellow glider rocker when it's done.

You know, I was just coming back to this thread to edit and say that was a totally unnecessary hand slap on my part and I can't stand when people show up on a lovely thread and drop a load of snark on it. I don't know what my problem is. I apologize, Ozangel. I feel like a jerk.

But I agree with Meg, OP. We need pictures!!

Ingrid, AussieMeg, turn in your Pea Cards RIGHT NOW.

That was the lamest Pea fight I've ever seen.

It was over before it began and you both apologized.
Oh, the shame
